    I’d love to come back again just for this dish.

    This was my first stay in Ibusuki, and I never imagined there would be an Accommodation here where you could enjoy such outstanding meals. We had Japanese cuisine on the first night and French on the second, and every dish was superb. The French dinner on the second night in particular delighted both our eyes and taste buds, with flavors and presentation that exceeded expectations with every course. Both nights featured dishes generously made with seasonal ingredients from Ibusuki and Kagoshima, and we were truly satisfied. As for the Facility, it did feel a bit dated, and since it was originally a different type of property, there was some mismatch between the in-house equipment/fittings and the Hotel’s concept. However, the Room overlooking Kagoshima Bay is truly one of a kind. The wide range of Facility options—such as the spa, sand bath, and large public bath—made for a very fulfilling stay. I would love to return just to experience that dish again. Thank you for such wonderful memories.

    A Hotel Set on Vast Grounds

    It wasn’t clear from the website or photos, but it seems this Accommodation was expanded by adding guest rooms to a building that was previously used as a retreat facility. As a result, the interior is quite spacious. The building feels like something built during Japan’s bubble era, and there are even koi swimming inside. There is also a treatment center next door, and I wondered if people from there also use the baths. Many of the staff are from overseas, but they are very kind. Breakfast is French-style and appears to be carefully prepared. My family seemed very satisfied with the baths.

    Detox

    Because it’s a highly rated Accommodation, I visited for two nights with great anticipation. One Plan included a cruise on Lake Ikeda; despite the strong sunshine, I enjoyed magnificent views of Mt. Kaimon. At the Accommodation, many of the staff are from overseas, but their Japanese is excellent and there were no issues at all. Because the Accommodation is located on a hilltop, you can see across Ibusuki town to the Osumi Peninsula and even Sakurajima. I never tired of the view from the open-air bath in my Room, which features free-flowing natural hot spring water. The amenities—made using bamboo and thinned wood—were well stocked and convenient. The hair dryer and shower head were the same models I use at home, which was a real plus for me since I like to keep my luggage light. The Japanese dinner featured carefully prepared dishes centered on local ingredients, with plenty of beautifully colorful vegetables and gentle flavors that felt comforting and delicious. Breakfast was equally thoughtful, and I was very satisfied. Most noteworthy, however, is this Accommodation’s spa. With three abundant hot spring sources, every bathing Facility is continuously fed directly from the source—and the benefits were outstanding. I absolutely loved it. The staff were friendly, and with faultless scenery, meals, and Onsen as well, this stay felt like a wonderful find—an Accommodation I’d love to return to again and again.

    Thank you very much.

    It was our first time visiting Kagoshima, and we weren’t familiar with the area, so we arrived at the Accommodation later than planned. Thanks to the thoughtful care of all the staff, we were able to enjoy a truly relaxing and heartwarming stay until check-out. The cuisine, bath, and Room were all excellent, and we are very grateful that we could celebrate my husband’s birthday here. We would love to visit again.

    It was a unique Hotel set on a vast property.

    I felt this might be a Hotel that struggles to be profitable. It sits on a vast property, and the Hotel itself feels even larger than a typical large-scale Hotel (you’ll understand why once you stay). The size of the Hotel didn’t seem to match the number of guests, and it felt quiet and sparsely occupied. However, the food was truly exceptional—carefully conceived creative cuisine unlike anything I’ve come across, with the head chef personally taking the lead. I was fully satisfied and able to enjoy dishes I’d never tasted before. It’s a Hotel I’d like to visit again.

    The Onsen facilities...

    The Onsen facilities, meals, and service were all excellent. Since we stayed on a hot day, I was worried the Onsen spa might feel too warm, but because it was up in the mountains, the breeze was cool and it was comfortable. The meal was delicious French cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. All the staff were friendly and helpful in many ways. We stayed for my mother’s birthday, and she was very happy. It’s a Hotel I’d love to stay at again if I have the chance!

    We truly appreciated...

    We truly appreciated the Shuttle Service arranged to match our train schedule. Our first-ever sand bath and the ceramic spa were amazing! We already had high expectations for the French dinner, but it was even more delicious than we imagined. The hot spring water was silky-smooth, leaving our skin soft, hydrated, and supple.

    They picked us up at Ibusuki Station, and on the way back they dropped us off at a nearby sightseeing spot. We were satisfied with everything, including the meals and service. Next time, we think it would be better to stay for two consecutive nights.

    We visited to celebrate a birthday.

    We stayed here on the second night of our trip to Kagoshima to celebrate my partner’s birthday. While the Accommodation is a bit old, it was clean, and above all, every staff member was extremely courteous, making our stay wonderful. My partner has multiple fish allergies and some Hotels have turned us away, but you kindly accommodated us in advance, so we could enjoy our meals with peace of mind. If we have the chance to visit Ibusuki again, this is a Hotel we would love to stay at. Thank you very much.

    The best Accommodation ever

    This was the first Hotel where we could enjoy sunrise, sunset, and the night view over the peninsula from our Room. On top of that, the staff’s thoughtfulness was reflected in everything—the spotless cleanliness of the Room, the variety and arrangement of amenities, and even the selection of drinks in the refrigerator. It was simply outstanding. Communicating with the staff and manager was truly comforting, and they were so considerate with the Shuttle Service that we almost felt bad. Even a small comment would be met with “How about this?” as they did everything possible beyond any manual—so much so that we felt we shouldn’t casually mention anything. When we told them it was to celebrate our daughter’s graduation and new job, they created unforgettable memories for us with a handmade bouquet and a champagne toast. Our daughter kept saying to both the staff—and even on our flight home—that she would work hard and definitely come back again. It seems this Accommodation has become a goal for her. There is still so much more I can’t fit here, but among all the Hotels we have stayed at, this became our very best Accommodation. It was a warm place where you could truly feel everyone working together to think about how to make guests happy. Thank you very much. We will be back again.

    The meals were amazing!

    We stayed as a family of four in the Modern Suite Japanese-Western Room: KAZE (with a private open-air hinoki bath). First, we were welcomed in the lobby with a welcome drink—either sparkling wine or Chiran tea. The staff also gave us a detailed explanation of the building and Facilities. Our Room was on the second floor, which also has the large public bath and the French restaurant for dinner, so getting around was very smooth and felt especially comfortable for older guests. The in-room refrigerator was all-inclusive. There are no vending machines in the Hotel, but everything we needed to drink was available there. After relaxing in our Room for a while, we went to the sand bath we had reserved. Since it’s inside the Hotel, access was extremely convenient. After that, we enjoyed hot stone therapy and Onsen as well—it felt wonderful from start to finish. We also used a private open-air bath, which was spacious and very relaxing. There were many international staff members, but everyone spoke excellent Japanese and provided very polite service. In the evening, we enjoyed an innovative French course at Restaurant “Lueur.” Everything—from the welcome drink to the final dessert—was outstanding. In particular, their focus on vegetables really stood out; each dish looked beautiful and tasted great. It was so delicious that I ate too much and felt overly full at night. The next morning, we took our time enjoying Onsen again before breakfast. We had a Western-style breakfast at French restaurant “Celeste,” which was also excellent. It isn’t a buffet; instead, various dishes are brought out in just the right portions. The freshly baked croffles were especially crisp and delicious—I asked for seconds. Juice and coffee refills were also available freely, so I ended up eating too much again. My eldest daughter loved the Anno sweet potato jam served at breakfast, so she asked where it could be purchased and we bought some on our way out. It’s very popular—despite it being a weekday, it sold out by late morning. Check-out was 11:00 (12:00 with Diamond benefits), so we took our time—soaking our feet in the open-air bath in our Room and feeding koi swimming in the lobby—before checking out at a relaxed pace. The food is truly excellent, and because distances to Onsen and other Facilities are short within this Accommodation, even older guests can stay with peace of mind. We would love to visit again.     It was amazing!!

    This Hotel offered a wide variety of baths, including a large public bath, private baths, a sand steam bath, and a stone sauna. The view from the large public bath was wonderful, and since the windows could be opened, I felt like I could soak forever while enjoying the fresh air. The water was free-flowing and of excellent quality; it left my skin feeling soft and moisturized—absolutely amazing. The private baths were also free-flowing Onsen, with both a rock bath and a cypress bath. I tried both; although they were slightly small, they had an open feel with views of the sky and trees. These Onsen were outstanding as well. There was also a bathtub on the Room’s balcony, filled with Onsen water. Being able to bathe whenever I wanted was incredibly comfortable. The view from the Room was spectacular, and both the sunset glow and sunrise were beautiful. In particular, watching the sun rise while soaking in that tub made me feel truly happy. Since I stayed for two nights, I enjoyed both French cuisine and Japanese cuisine, and both were genuinely delicious. All of the ingredients—vegetables, fish, meat, and more sourced in Kagoshima—were excellent. I was impressed until the very last bite by each dish’s delicate seasoning and presentation. Most of all, thanks to everyone at the Hotel for their thoughtful hospitality: as a solo traveler, they spoke to me kindly, which made it possible to enjoy my meals while having pleasant conversations. That meant so much to me. It’s truly an exceptional Hotel. I’d love to visit again! Thank you very much!!

    The meals were absolutely delicious!

    We had French cuisine for dinner, and it was delicious. From dinner to breakfast, we truly enjoyed the many dishes made with plenty of local ingredients. (Thank you for the wonderful meal.) We also enjoyed the Onsen. However, perhaps because it was cold that day, the sand bath didn’t warm us up enough. Also, we were surprised that there were no towels or razors in the large public bath. The Room closet was also quite small. (Unfortunately)

    It was a fun trip.

    I stayed here on a trip with my mother. As it was my first time in the area, I chose this Hotel because I thought we could enjoy both dining and the spa without leaving the property. It turned out to be an excellent choice—I was completely satisfied. The staff’s polite, attentive care was truly comforting and appreciated. We had French cuisine two nights in a row, and even breakfast was entirely different each day. I had heard the food was good, but it exceeded my expectations. The spa Facility was also wonderful. We originally came for the sand bath, but ended up using the ceramic spa many times. Seeing the beautiful koi and feeding them was also a lot of fun. I would love to return again.     I had a relaxing stay.

    The first impression upon arriving at the Hotel was the stunning view. As for the food, while Reviews mentioned that the French dinner was highly recommended, our family opted for Japanese cuisine. The broth was exceptional, and we were very satisfied with the ingredients and seasoning. We enjoyed both the sand bath and large public bath; however, while the open-air bath in our Room had an amazing view, it was a windy and cold day. It might be better if there were some measures to block the wind.

    Unforgettable Accommodation in Ibusuki

    I chose this accommodation after reading reviews, hoping to spend a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The spa and dining were exceptional, making it a place I would definitely want to visit again. The spa has even won awards in the spa category of America's Travel + Leisure magazine, offering a wide variety of options. Among them, the ceramic spa was a first-time experience for me and had outstanding detox effects. Enjoying meals while overlooking breathtaking views from the highest point in Ibusuki was truly elegant. At night, you can admire the city lights, while in the morning, you can enjoy sunrise views with the sea, mountains, and sky as a backdrop. Dinner was served at "Lueur," a newly opened French restaurant. Every dish prepared at their live kitchen was delicious and showcased Kagoshima's ingredients through an exquisite French course menu. The chef explained each dish and ingredient with great care, using local pottery for plating—showcasing attention to detail throughout. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. I look forward to staying here again!

    Special Moments

    I had the pleasure of staying here to climb Mount Kaimon. The service was outstanding, with multiple staff members attending to every detail. Their thoughtfulness was remarkable and reminded me of the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok. For Japanese cuisine, I was thrilled to see authentic antiques being used, which added a special touch. The food quality was exceptional and absolutely delicious. They only accommodate two groups per day, making it an exclusive experience. The French cuisine was also creative and unique. During my stay, it happened to be a full moon (Cold Moon), so I enjoyed the beautifully illuminated Kinko Bay and the reflection of the moon on the balcony's private bath—truly enchanting. Since the sky was too bright for stargazing, I hope to visit again during a new moon for a different experience. The Facility is incredibly spacious, possibly due to its proximity to a medical center. Inside is an open atrium with a large waterfall spanning one floor level and many koi fish swimming around. They are so accustomed that they approach you like those in Isuzu River when you get close. Every moment here felt truly special!

    Many baths available!

    We enjoyed a variety of baths. The ceramic bath was cleaned after every use, so we could relax with peace of mind. We visited the outdoor open-air bath at night but wished we had also gone during daylight hours. The bathtub in the room was on the balcony, and soaking while gazing at the starry sky was amazing. Breakfast was delicious as well. The room had drinks and rice crackers, and my friend took home the alcohol we didn’t drink as a souvenir! (laughs) Thanks to the Diamond Member benefits, our checkout time was extended, allowing us to spend a leisurely and relaxing time. We were warmly seen off by all staff members upon departure. It was unfortunate that we couldn’t have a Multiple Night Stay due to full occupancy on our second night, but I will definitely stay here again when visiting Ibusuki! I feel refreshed now—thank you very much!

    Once again!

    My third visit to Ibusuki, and I was searching for a different accommodation this time. Then, a "heavenly voice" (haha) told me to stay at "Bettei Amaruoka"! So, we decided on this accommodation! After gathering information in advance, I was really looking forward to it. In one word: It exceeded all expectations (haha). The view from the room, the well-equipped bath facilities, the private open-air bath where we could enjoy the sunrise—everything surpassed what I had imagined. And above all else—the food! Even when recalling all the French cuisine I've had before, it was simply delicious! That’s all there is to say. To all the staff who took care of us—thank you so much. I thought this might be my last trip to Ibusuki... but this accommodation made me think "I want to come back again!"

    Located on a hill, the room offers a breathtaking view of Kinko Bay. The spacious accommodation ensures minimal encounters with other guests.     Excellent hospitality

    Although I was initially concerned about access due to its location on the mountain, the shuttle service to and from Ibusuki Station at my preferred times made it completely convenient. Upon entering, a beautiful vintage Steinway piano warmly welcomed me. Thanks to the bath reservation during check-in, I was able to enjoy a sand bath, stone sauna, and private family bath before dinner without any time loss. It was also wonderful to relax in room wear while enjoying the meal. The French cuisine made with plenty of local ingredients had a gentle flavor with touches of Japanese taste throughout, and the dashi broth was particularly outstanding. The rare and highly regarded Ibusuki beef was exceptionally delicious as well. The freshly baked waffles at breakfast had an irresistible buttery aroma and crispy yet fluffy texture that made me go for seconds. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive; their unified effort to provide hospitality allowed me to fully relax during my stay. The open-air bath in my room and the starry sky viewed from the balcony at night left a lasting impression, making this one of the accommodations I'd love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Both the meals and the bath provided an exceptional experience!

    We stayed as a couple this time, and it was truly a highly satisfying experience. First, the meals exceeded the great reputation we saw in reviews, with every dish carefully prepared and absolutely delightful. We even thought about coming back just for the food. The room was very clean, and the ocean view was truly stunning. There was also a bath on the balcony, providing a perfectly relaxing environment without even leaving the room. The baths within the facility offered various options, including ceramic baths, private baths, and open-air baths—an absolute treat for onsen lovers. Additionally, the staff were very attentive and even gave advice on how to enjoy the baths effectively, which made our stay even more enjoyable.     There are various spas to enjoy, and they were very enjoyable. The Facility was clean and comfortable. The meals were also delicious. However, it would have been even better if the restroom in the guest room was separate from the washroom.

    It was a very comfortable accommodation.

    Thank you for your hospitality during our stay. Although it is a bit away from the center of Ibusuki City, being at an altitude of about 300m offers beautiful views of Ibusuki City and the Osumi Peninsula, and we could enjoy the sunrise from our room in the morning. Since the hotel is located in the mountains, please be cautious if arriving by car after sunset. When we stayed in November, there were no issues with insects or anything similar. We opted for a plan with breakfast and dinner included. Both meals were delicious French cuisine that skillfully utilized local specialties from Ibusuki City. The staff kindly explained unfamiliar ingredients to us, making dining a very enjoyable and interesting experience. It was my first time experiencing a sand bath, which turned out to be a great experience. Highly recommended for those who wish to stay quietly and relax at their own pace.

    Luxurious Accommodation

    We chose "Amakudaru Hill" as our accommodation because of its high ratings, and it exceeded our expectations by far. From the moment we arrived at the entrance, staff assisted with moving our luggage to the room and parking the car. While enjoying a welcome drink of sparkling wine, we were given an explanation of the accommodation and prepared for a fulfilling stay, including spa reservations. In our room, we could choose from five types of aroma oils to customize the scent to our liking. Before dinner, we enjoyed activities such as sand baths, private open-air baths, simulation golf, and feeding koi fish. Dinner was a French course meal featuring local ingredients that were visually stunning and incredibly delicious. The presentation of dishes like salmon with caviar in mango sauce amazed us; the tenderness of Ibusuki beef was exceptional; garlic fried rice was available for seconds; and even chabushi soup had a unique French twist with soy milk—everything was exquisite. The chocolate dessert was served warm with perfectly rare chocolate inside. Every dish came with detailed explanations from staff who also paid attention to refills for bread or other items—flavor, portion size, service—all were impeccable. After dinner, we enjoyed stone saunas and large public baths—the latter felt like having it all to ourselves due to limited guest numbers at this accommodation. The balcony's open-air bath offered breathtaking views of nightscapes and starry skies—a truly memorable experience enhanced by complimentary alcoholic beverages in-room after bathing. The next morning’s French breakfast included warm waffles that left an unforgettable impression on us. Following breakfast came an extraordinary ceramic spa experience—a refreshing sensation different from sand baths but equally invigorating as sweat naturally flowed out. At checkout time when mentioning how much we loved one particular aroma oil used in our room—they kindly gifted us that very oil as a souvenir! All staff members saw us off together upon departure—it felt like every detail during check-in through checkout had been thoughtfully attended-to throughout this highly satisfying stay!
