    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    Thank you for your thoughtful assistance even before the check-in time. Before heading out for cherry blossom viewing, the host of the accommodation mentioned that dinner would be plentiful and something to look forward to, and it truly was a feast for both the eyes and palate. We had a wonderful time enjoying an array of dishes and discovered many new ways of eating. Our room was on the first floor, so unfortunately, we could hear some noises from upstairs late into the night, which made it slightly difficult to sleep. However, we understand that these things happen. We hope to visit again someday to enjoy a relaxing meal while admiring the spacious garden.

    It was excellent.

    It was excellent. The stylish Western-style building made me feel like a millionaire. The food was delicious, and the staff were polite and wonderful. I would definitely love to stay at this Hotel again.

    It was a wonderful accommodation that I would love to stay at again!

    I have stayed at various accommodations in Kyoto, including Aman and Mitsui, but if I were to stay again, I would choose this hotel! Overall, it was excellent. The breakfast was among the top 1 or 2 in terms of taste. Each dish was carefully prepared with love and attention. (I did not have dinner at the accommodation.) The interior design, cleanliness, service, bath facilities, price—everything was great. Although it’s a short taxi ride from the station, it was far better than business hotels around the Imperial Palace area. With a garden on-site, I could enjoy a relaxing and truly Kyoto-like experience.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    This trip was centered around staying at this hotel, and the hospitality met our expectations. The onsen in the room was always at the perfect temperature, and with plenty of towels provided, we could enjoy multiple stress-free baths. Dinner was carefully prepared and absolutely delicious, with thoughtful touches in every dish. The male staff member who attended to us provided exceptional service. We had a wonderful time here. Thank you very much!

    It was a great accommodation to relax.

    The accommodation was excellent in terms of the building, bath, service, and meals, allowing for a very relaxing stay. The explanations about the building during check-in and the attentive service during meals were very polite, making our time enjoyable. As it is a wonderful accommodation, I have two requests: 1. For first-time visitors, please indicate the location of the parking lot on your website or provide signage at the parking area. 2. During late-night hours (around 2–3 AM), I could hear footsteps from a room on the second floor several times in my bedroom. While this may be an issue with other guests staying upstairs, it might help if you kindly remind those staying on upper floors to be mindful during check-in.

    I was soothed by the beautiful garden.

    I discovered Hotel Utano Kyoto Villa, which just opened last year and features a complete Onsen, while searching for accommodation in Kyoto. On the day of arrival, they kindly stored our car and luggage before check-in, allowing us to explore Ninna-ji Temple. The room (Matsu) was impressively spacious and meticulously maintained. The large garden visible from the front window was breathtakingly beautiful both at night and in the morning, offering a view so stunning it inspired thoughts of painting. The bath was relatively small compared to the size of the room but provided consistent temperature and water flow, allowing us to enjoy it multiple times. Both dinner and breakfast were plentiful, with young staff members serving each dish with smiles and detailed explanations that made for an enjoyable experience. Each dish was delicious; I especially loved the sakura shrimp rice at dinner and the sea bream bone soup shabu-shabu with seasonal vegetables at breakfast—they were exceptional. However, I felt there could be a bit more impact in terms of capturing Kyoto's unique essence overall. Even so, we had a pleasant stay right up until their warm send-off after check-out.     Anyway, the food is delicious.

    Stayed for 3 nights. [Meals] The meals were incredibly delicious, even more so than high-end Japanese restaurants in Tokyo that have been Michelin certified. I have never looked forward to meals at a property as much as I did on this trip. [Facility] Opened last November, the property is very clean and pleasant. It is a renovated building, and the blend of the original historic parts with new elements is wonderful. It has a comfortable yet somewhat simple and nostalgic atmosphere. There is floor heating throughout, making it warm and comfortable even for cold feet. Although there were no bed guards available, which many properties do provide, it would be appreciated if they could be offered. [Bath] The room's bath automatically refills when the water level decreases; however, it was not an onsen-style flowing bath which was slightly disappointing. Nonetheless, being new meant it was very clean and the temperature was just right for bathing with children. [Service & Hospitality] Perhaps because it's still a new property, there were some concerns such as staff saying something couldn't be done without checking or providing incorrect information in their guidance. However, other staff members did their utmost to accommodate us and showed great hospitality. In particular, the female staff member who attended to us during meals was truly pleasant and attentive to details which made our stay enjoyable.

    The best hospitality!

    This was my first visit, but the staff were all very attentive, allowing me to relax without any stress. It is one of the properties I would like to visit again.

    We visited as a fami...

    We visited as a family of three. We usually choose properties where meals are served in the room or in private dining rooms, so we were somewhat hesitant about dining in a restaurant. However, there was a comfortable distance from other guests. There seemed to be guests with babies as well, but although we could hear crying, we couldn't see them and assumed they were dining in another room. Therefore, we were able to enjoy our meal in a very comfortable space. The food was also very delicious. The broth was tasty and the rice was cooked perfectly, leading us to eat more than usual. Since there were three of us for dessert, we tried all varieties available which were beautifully presented. Above all else, the service from the staff was excellent. Everyone was wonderful but one male staff member stood out (I wish I had asked his name). Despite being young he had an air of elegance about him; he showed great consideration and spoke well - I became quite a fan! Thanks to him our stay became even more memorable. As for some concerns: There were only M-sized yukatas available; contacting reception would bring an S size but asking at check-in might save time later on. Regarding fridge contents: everything except alcohol is free yet seemed sparse for three people; it would be nice if water bottles for tea could also be provided. Our room this time was on ground level so sounds like footsteps or thuds from upstairs continued late into night making it hard falling asleep. Despite these issues though overall satisfaction remained high with this property - thank you again!

    S.L. Hotel

    It was an accommodation that acted with consideration for the guests. The shuttle service, check-in, and dining services were excellent. The self-service drinks and delicious snacks outside the room were also a delightful point. However, the downside was the room's facility—footsteps from the 2nd-floor room and air conditioning wind directly hitting my head while sleeping. Although the food did not meet my expectations, I gave a satisfaction rating of 5 because of the wonderful service provided by the staff. Thank you for allowing me to spend a pleasant and relaxing time.

    A captivating and memorable trip to Kyoto. I have always preferred unique accommodations with a limited number of rooms, and this stay became even more unforgettable. The building, originally constructed in the early Showa era, has been beautifully renovated while preserving its charm. The addition of a Western-style house is particularly delightful. On the first floor of the Western-style house, there is an original gelato shop that can also be enjoyed by non-guests. The flavors are rich and unique, making it a joy for ice cream lovers like me. The onsen water delivered every morning was delightful, offering an authentic experience. The bath facilities, shower area, sink setup with nano-care amenities, and bedding were all very comfortable. While admiring the beautiful Mirei Shigemori Japanese garden and interiors, I found it refreshing to enjoy meals in a shared dining space after so long without private dining rooms. Both dinner and breakfast featured appealing ingredients from places like Awaji Island; I especially appreciated the abundance of fresh seafood and the option to choose desserts. The staff at this accommodation were courteous and conveyed their dedication to providing excellent service. The atmosphere among guests was calm and relaxing, making my stay very pleasant. This visit reminded me of the happiness found in seeing people around you or interacting with others—and cherishing those moments for what they bring now as well as into our future lives together. When being seen off at departure near its entrance gate—underneath vivid rainbow skies overhead—I’ll never forget how stunningly beautiful that moment felt shared alongside them too! Having opened after many years’ preparation & restoration efforts—it’s exciting imagining what further allure awaits ahead here someday soon again! Until next time—thank-you sincerely!

    A blend of historic charm and modernity

    Although I often visit Kyoto, I usually stay at hotels directly connected to the station. This time, I wanted to relax with my elderly mother during the New Year and chose this hotel because it has an Onsen. The hotel just opened in November, and the room was fully equipped with everything we needed. The Onsen uses water from Kiyomizu's hot springs, allowing us to enjoy it anytime we liked, which was wonderful. The building itself had a historical feel and the charm of an old house, which added to its appeal. The meals were probably served in just the right portions; however, as kaiseki cuisine tends to be filling towards the end of the course, unfortunately neither my mother nor I could finish everything. That said, each dish was prepared with great care and hospitality and tasted absolutely delicious. Located within walking distance of Ninna-ji Temple and Myoshin-ji Temple, this is a place I'd love to visit again in a different season. Thank you for providing shuttle service from Hanazono Station! While I might have considered using Randen if traveling alone, having shuttle service was very helpful since my mother was with me. Overall, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay thoroughly!

    Truly wonderful

    The purpose of this trip was to stay at a Kyoto-style Ryokan. It was an exciting two days that exceeded all expectations. Since it opened in November and is not yet widely known, we were able to enjoy a truly relaxing stay. The hospitality, service, amenities, and especially the heartfelt meals in the morning and evening were incredibly impressive. Both the taste and presentation were outstanding. This wonderful accommodation is definitely a place I want to visit again. Thank you for providing so many amazing and unforgettable experiences!
