    The staff were wonde...

    The staff were wonderful, and the Room was spotless with a great atmosphere. If I had to mention one thing, the bath is so large that the water cools down quickly, but there is no reheating function... Also, since we ended up with quite a bit of trash, it would be helpful if spare trash bags were provided. We stayed with five family members and one dog, and there was plenty of space. We would love to stay again.

    The bed was very comfortable. The rice in the meals was delicious. The portions were just right for us, but they might feel a bit small for younger guests. It was disappointing that we couldn’t turn on the first-floor jacuzzi. We considered asking about it, but after 8:00 p.m. support was by phone only, so we decided not to.

    Spacious and clean, with well-equipped facilities.

    The Facilities were excellent—there was a spacious living room with a fireplace, a user-friendly kitchen, complimentary drinks including sparkling water and straight juice, two large jacuzzi baths, a relaxing sauna, and three toilets. It was more than we could fully enjoy in just one night, but our stay was very comfortable. On the other hand, the breakfast menu (aside from the fish) was completely Western-style, yet it came with steamed white rice. As others have mentioned in their reviews, this felt a bit inconsistent. The onion soup, demi-glace sauce, and white stew were delicious—but are they really meant to be paired with white rice? The chicken was coated in a sweet-and-savory sauce with whole-grain mustard. I felt that Japanese-style seasoning would suit white rice better, and adding even a small Japanese side dish (such as nozawana pickles) would make the breakfast much more satisfying. Lastly, I was surprised at checkout. We had made our Reservation for four people with breakfast included. However, due to fever we changed to two guests on the day of arrival and consulted about adjusting the number of breakfasts and dinner arrangements. We were told that because it was same-day they could not accommodate changes; that we should leave the breakfasts as is; and that the total charge could not be changed (we understood same-day cancellations are not possible). Despite that explanation, at checkout an additional charge for two breakfasts had been added. It left us feeling quite uncomfortable. I believe this is something that should be checked more carefully.

    This is my second stay since last year.

    We love Fufu and stay often, including at its properties across The whole country. Last year, we brought our dog and stayed for two nights in a pet-friendly building with two households (six people and one dog). The meals were served in the Room for both breakfast and dinner and were delicious, so this year we left our dog in care elsewhere and stayed for two nights with the same six people in a building where dogs are not allowed. This time, compared with last year, there were some disappointing points. (1) In advance, as last year, we requested to arrive with two cars and asked that the beds in both bedrooms be pushed together, and we received confirmation. However, upon arrival—although last year both cars could be parked on the same side as the building—we were instructed to park one car in a slightly distant lot across the road. In the end, we were able to park it in the same lot as the building. When we entered the building, the beds in the upstairs bedroom had not been pushed together and an extra bed had been set up. When we pointed out that this differed from our request, they promptly removed the extra bed and pushed the beds together. (2) The meals were disappointing. They felt like an incomplete Japanese-Western fusion leaning toward Western cuisine; across all four meals over two days, there was little variation. At least at breakfast I expected miso soup or Fufu’s typical “rice accompaniments,” but every time it was potage-style or consommé-style soup. It was a shame since you kindly cooked plenty of delicious rice. Also, perhaps because a different rice cooker was used than last time, even though it was the same brand of rice, it came out slightly mushy. The most delicious thing for me this time was actually simply prepared local vegetables. (3) When closing it, the upstairs bathroom door made an unpleasant creaking noise. Also, although all air conditioners were turned off at night, I woke up several times due to a humming sound near my pillow in the upstairs bedroom. I wondered if a sauna next door might have been running, but when I went to check around (the wash area/bathroom/toilet), I couldn’t hear that sound there. My husband and grandchildren slept well, so it may have only been on my side of the bed. I’ve written various things here, but all staff members are pleasant. And while featuring an open atrium design that feels spacious—with modern appliances throughout—a large sauna, and two bedrooms as well; it is just right for traveling with two households. On day three my grandchildren said, “Are we leaving already? I want to stay longer!”, so I think they found it very comfortable— they never say that when we book two Rooms at Fufu elsewhere. Next time I would like to confirm meal details before staying again. Since Karuizawa has many Fufu properties within its group/affiliates; if staying several nights; splitting stays between them might also be a good option.

    Be inspired again on your second night.

    For this stay, since we wanted in-Room dining on the second night, we made two separate Reservations. Just like last year, they prepared in-Room dining for our second night. The main meat dish was a cook-it-yourself style, which was a bit difficult for my husband and me since we don’t usually cook. We felt that dining at the restaurant is the better choice. From now on, we will choose restaurant dining only. Breakfast was also fully prepared, but in the end it was a style where we warmed it up ourselves before eating. On the morning of the second day, we woke up early and refreshed ourselves with a morning bath and morning sauna. There wasn’t an Onsen, but it was totally fine. On our way home, we also visited a local supermarket recommended by the Hotel staff. We bought lots of delicious tomatoes and vegetables, and plenty of souvenirs too. It was so much fun. As expected from Shinshu produce—everything had such deep flavor that it honestly made us want to move to Nagano someday. We also received a commemorative photo for our anniversary. At checkout this time, we accidentally left our dog’s toy in the Room. When I called them, they delivered it to our home the very next day. I was truly impressed by how professional and thoughtful the staff were. Thank you so much. Both service and facilities were flawless. I will recommend this place to my friends with dogs as well. Everything about our stay was wonderful. A perfect score with nothing to complain about. We look forward to seeing you again someday.

    I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay next time.

    The Room was unbelievably amazing… The bed had just the right firmness, and there was a sauna as well. Next to it was a large bathtub where even someone like me—who isn’t good with cold plunges—could freely adjust the water temperature. There was also an outdoor relaxation space, making it a wonderfully thoughtful setup that even sauna lovers who can’t do cold baths can still enjoy. Also, I love campfires, so I was thrilled with the wood-burning stove in the Room. Having drinks in the evening while gazing at the flames for about three hours felt far too luxurious. A couple of things I noticed: after 21:00 it was quite difficult to reach the butler by phone. Also, from around 8:00 the next morning, even though the windows were closed, I could hear very loud noise as if someone were cutting wood with an electric saw (I believe this happened outside the Facility), and unfortunately I couldn’t sleep soundly. The basic skincare amenities were really good, and I forgot to note down the product name—could you please let me know? Next time, I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay.

    The Accommodation was very comfortable and relaxing. However, the meals did not quite feel worth the price, and the breakfast in particular was disappointing—neither truly Japanese nor Western, and the taste was underwhelming. Also, having breakfast placed in the refrigerator the day before and needing to heat it up ourselves using a hot plate or pot was quite inconvenient.. Overall, though, we were very satisfied with this Accommodation!

    Family Trip with Your Beloved Dog

    Our annual Karuizawa family trip with our dog is becoming a tradition, and this time my daughter recommended GRAMDAY STYLE SUITE Yamanofumoto. Everyone was very kind to our dog, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. The location was also great—close to golf courses and the outlet mall, making it easy to get around. Most of all, my husband was delighted. We really enjoyed the BBQ, and the in-Room meals were delicious. Our daughter and her husband will be moving to the U.S. this summer, but we would love to stay here again when they return to Japan. Thank you very much.

    You can’t go wrong with the Fufu brand.

    After considering several options again, choosing this place was absolutely the right decision! Since it’s not a Hotel, the service is minimal, but from check-in to meal service, many of the staff—despite being young—gave the impression of being well trained. The Room is new, very clean, and spacious. Above all, the study is excellent. We chose in-room dining, and since everything is served at once, we didn’t have to wait wondering when the next dish would arrive; we could eat at our own pace, which was great. This is one Accommodation you should definitely include among those you visit regularly.

    Winter in Karuizawa

    We stayed as a family. It felt like renting out a luxurious private house, and we were very satisfied with the accommodation. Although it is very close to Karuizawa Station, it is located in a quiet and peaceful area where we could relax at ease. When we entered the house, it was such a beautiful space that we couldn't help but cheer. The staff were very polite and pleasant, even lighting the fireplace for us, allowing us to stay warm during winter in Karuizawa. This is an accommodation we'd love to visit again in another season.

    We visited for a three-generation trip with my two children, aged 2 and 0, and my parents. Everyone was delighted with the beautiful interior upon arrival. Although we had made prior requests, all the necessary items for the children were prepared in the Room, which was very helpful. Both dinner and breakfast were served in the Room, and they were not only delicious but also more than enough in quantity. The staff member who attended to us was extremely kind, making our stay pleasant throughout. We also appreciated being greeted every time we returned from outings and having help with our luggage. Despite being busy with young children and likely making many requests, we had a wonderful trip thanks to your hospitality. Thank you so much! My husband and I even talked about wanting to come back every year. We look forward to visiting again if we have another opportunity!

    Husband's Birthday Trip

    We stayed as a family of three, celebrating my husband's birthday with our 1-year-old child. Prior to our stay, we ordered a cake and flowers through the concierge and arranged for in-room dining on the first night, which was handled very flexibly. The atmosphere of the room was excellent, and both my husband and I were very satisfied. However, there were a few disappointing aspects regarding the concierge's service after arriving at the accommodation. Neither of the two phones in the room worked; one was explained to be out of service while the other seemed to have no charge, so we were asked to use our mobile phone instead. Additionally, despite informing them about when to deliver the surprise cake and flowers, they forgot until we asked about it at that time. Although they rushed to bring them afterward, it was disappointing as this detail was very important for us. The provided loungewear included only one adult-sized piece and one that did not fit our child’s size. It felt like they had not checked or prepared properly before allowing guests into the room. While the room itself was wonderful, we hope improvements will be made in terms of service quality moving forward.

    As always, it was absolutely wonderful. The dinner was especially outstanding in taste and the portions were so generous that it felt like too much, but everything was incredibly delicious and satisfying. This time, we stayed with a group of 13 people. In past trips, we often felt that both dinner and breakfast portions were slightly small (we all have big appetites), but this time everyone was completely satisfied—some even said it was "too much," which we had never heard before... haha! We truly enjoyed a delicious and delightful time. Thank you very much! For some of our group members, this type of accommodation format was their first experience, and they seemed deeply impressed by it. However, there was one disappointment: breakfast. The balance between the side dishes and rice seemed off—it felt like the menu would have been better suited to bread rather than rice. Since the meals are prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator from the previous day, I understand there are limitations when reheating them. But if that's the case, perhaps an option to toast your own bread could be considered? We stayed for two nights; after feeling a bit off about breakfast on the first morning, we bought bread for ourselves on day two. After having such a filling dinner on both nights beforehand, oddly enough, bread tasted great! It would have been nice to have had more options to choose from at breakfast. For example: pairing minestrone-style soup with rice on day one didn’t feel quite right. Overall though, everything about our stay was truly exceptional—the staff treated us wonderfully throughout our visit. We booked three rooms but made an error in assigning room numbers among our group members; when requesting changes to fix this issue upon arrival at reception—your team handled it so graciously & efficiently without hesitation whatsoever! Such professionalism reflects top-tier service quality indeed! To General Manager alongside every single member working tirelessly behind-the-scenes ensuring guests' comfort/satisfaction alike—we extend heartfelt gratitude towards each individual involved making memorable experiences possible during stays here altogether!!

    Meals are...

    The room is excellent!! The guest room is very spacious, with stylish interior design and lighting. The appliances inside are from Balmuda, adding a touch of elegance. It even has a state-of-the-art fireplace and sauna in the room, making it comfortable to stay in any season. While the hotel is within walking distance from the station, it's not ideal for walking under the scorching sun... However, they provide shuttle service upon request. This time, we were shuttled to a car rental shop. If staff availability is tight during busy hours, they will call a taxi for you and provide a ticket to cover the fare. About meals...? Honestly, it was disappointing. Breakfast was prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator for self-heating on both days—unfortunately not very tasty rice-based meals. Although they set up the rice cooker according to your preferred time, freshly cooked rice somehow didn’t taste good at all—perhaps due to an unpreferred brand or water ratio? On top of that, having to do everything yourself was unpleasant; I wish this had been explained more clearly beforehand. I wanted breakfast featuring delicious bread unique to Karuizawa! On Day 1: Fried eggs were cooked on a hot plate & gratin heated in the microwave; Day 2: Hot vegetables & chicken were heated using Staub (iron pot) in the microwave. Both days involved warming soup (very ordinary), dressing salads yourself—it wasn’t much work but lacked any special feeling about finishing such mundane breakfast menus. For dinner: Day 1 at their restaurant featured "Yakiniku," while Day 2 offered "Kinmedai Shabu-shabu" served in-room. Regarding "Yakiniku," appetizers were decent enough; however main dishes included only one slice each of beef tongue/short rib/beef loin—the short rib barely had meat attached! As for “Shabu-shabu” on day two—the Kinmedai slices were numerous yet too thickly cut resulting poorly flavored fish overall despite being titled as “A Special Dish Encountering Shinshu’s Charm.” Honestly couldn’t figure out what made them special whatsoever! Since there’s already equipped kitchen facilities available—you might prefer bringing ingredients along cooking yourselves instead opting meal plans—or exploring nearby restaurants would likely yield better dining experiences altogether!

    We stayed at the private villa "BIRCH" for a relaxing getaway for two. The moment we entered the room, we were amazed by the high ceilings and spacious living area, which gave us a sense of openness like a private retreat. The accommodation featured amenities such as a fireplace and sauna, allowing us to unwind at our own pace and enjoy a thoroughly relaxing stay. For dinner, we dined at the on-site restaurant, savoring teppanyaki and sashimi. The presentation was stunning, the flavors impeccable, making it an unforgettable dining experience. Breakfast was served in the room; cooking sunny-side-up eggs and sausages on a hot plate allowed us to enjoy freshly made dishes in a flexible style that felt incredibly comfortable. From the quality of the room to meals and service, everything exceeded expectations for an utterly rejuvenating stay. With even a study space available, I look forward to returning for more than two nights next time as part of a workcation experience!

    A wonderful private rental with a spacious and clean environment that was perfect for both us and our beloved dog. The meals were delicious, and everything was simply perfect! One suggestion would be to provide more detailed information about dog marking policies. It might be helpful to ask guests to note any marked areas during checkout so the Hotel can focus on cleaning those spots thoroughly. This comes from noticing dried waste on the carpet, likely from a previous guest's dog. Since it can be hard to spot such things on carpets, this could serve as feedback for future Room design improvements. We hope these changes are made without being too strict for dogs, as it’s such an amazing place already! We definitely want to stay at this Hotel again!

    Enjoy a relaxing stay!

    Check-in was a bit confusing due to the rain, as it was hard to locate the parking area and the Room. Each Room has its own unique design and is very comfortable. My husband especially loved the fireplace; since it was chilly due to bad weather, we used it, but because of the spacious Room, the heat wasn't overwhelming, and he enjoyed it. There were free drinks available, and having a sauna in the Room made our stay even more pleasant. A humidifier would have been a nice addition. We look forward to visiting again in autumn!

    It was an even more wonderful villa than expected. The Facility was not only well-equipped but also made comfortable by the excellent staff service. The food was amazing and so plentiful that it was unfortunate we couldn't finish it all. Lying on the swing sofa, watching the trees swaying in the wind outside, brought pure bliss.     This was my first time staying here, and I had a very pleasant experience. While I had no complaints, I would have loved it even more if there was an Onsen. That said, the Bubble Bath and sauna were great, so there's hardly anything to deduct points for (haha). I visit Karuizawa regularly, so I hope to stay here again if the opportunity arises.     The space was beautifully arranged and wonderful. Room wear was well-stocked, and the service was excellent. This time, we only opted for breakfast. However, the explanation of the breakfast system was a bit difficult for us to understand, and we didn’t realize that we needed to set the rice cooking time ourselves. We had high expectations as "Fufu's" breakfasts are always delicious everywhere, but this time it fell short of our expectations. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Unique and charming interiors and furnishings in each building

    I wanted to stay in the same room for a multiple night stay, but it wasn't available, so I stayed at Ceder on the first night and Maple on the second. Each accommodation had its own unique charm and features, making it an unexpectedly enjoyable experience despite the hassle of packing. This place stood out with its spacious second-floor bathroom and relaxation area, as well as the cheerful circular sofa in the first-floor living room. I loved how there were cozy sofas and chair sets scattered throughout, allowing me to relax in different spots. It was truly a wonderful accommodation that I would love to visit again someday!

    It was amazing!!

    This was the most outstanding experience overall. The facility, interior design, personalized service, and scenery were all exceptional. The surrounding environment was also perfect for a pleasant walk. In particular, the high-sense interior that beautifully incorporates the lush green view through the large windows on the first floor and the second floor featuring a sauna and an exceptionally spacious master bedroom with an adjoining large living area showcased Gramudi's unparalleled quality. Additionally, complimentary drinks in the refrigerator and even champagne provided through IKYU Diamond Service made it even more special.     Request Done for the wonderful Facility

    We stayed for two nights this time. The Room was very new and impeccably clean. We stayed in a dog-friendly Room with our two dogs, but there was no pet odor at all. The entire Room had a unique wooden scent, which helped us relax both physically and mentally. The main Room was spacious, the main bathroom had a jet bath, and even included a sauna, making it satisfying even without an Onsen. Floor heating was installed throughout the entire space, allowing us to stay comfortably warm. Meals were served via room service, with staff delivering each dish individually. The menu was simple yet delicious. For the first night’s grilled dish and the second day’s kinmedai shabu-shabu, utensils were provided for self-cooking; all other dishes were fully prepared by the staff. One concern is that while it is pet-friendly, there are significant steps at the entrance which might be challenging for large elderly dogs. Additionally, as there is no fence on the terrace area, we avoided using it out of concern for our dogs potentially escaping. Only during phone inquiries and check-out did we interact with Japanese staff; all other services such as room service and check-in were handled by foreign staff members who provided polite assistance—thank you very much! Thanks to them, we had an enjoyable stay. Drinks in the Room were also provided as part of our stay benefits through IKYU's Diamond Rank membership; they even offered champagne—thank you! Breakfast was semi-self-service style. For non-cooks like us though—the Western breakfast on day one felt slightly challenging to prepare ourselves—but we enjoyed delicious don soup during Japanese-style breakfast on day two instead! The salad dressing served alongside vegetables stood out especially—it tasted amazing! Before breakfast each morning—we took walks around nearby villa areas too—a pleasant way start off days ahead exploring Karuizawa further beyond Facility grounds themselves conveniently located less than five minutes drive away from Prince Shopping Plaza mall center access-wise overall seamless except when navigating GPS systems based solely upon address listed under IKYU.com directory database leading elsewhere entirely instead better results achieved searching directly Facility name itself next time visiting again soon hopefully requesting same accommodations once more thank-you kindly meantime meanwhile reflecting fondly back upon memorable experiences shared together here altogether warmly appreciated indeed

    Even without an Onsen, ultimate satisfaction guaranteed

    I have always been interested in Vacation Rentals, but I used to prioritize Ryokans or Hotels with Onsen. This time, the accommodation was introduced as a "villa" on IKYU, and after staying there, I feel it is quite close to a Vacation Rental. I didn’t have high expectations initially, but the moment I opened the living room door after passing through the entrance, I couldn’t help but gasp at the space before me. While I’ve never particularly longed for a luxurious standalone house, the sophisticated interior and beautiful design left me slightly moved. The sofas in the living room were all incredibly soft and comfortable; every time I sat down, I felt like lying down right away. The design and interior reflected great taste and attention to comfort—truly professional work that deserves respect. The sauna was already preheated and ready for use upon arrival. The butler provided excellent service beyond just being present in name. There were four beds—either king-size or queen-size—which is quite an unusual setup for solo travelers like myself! This extraordinary experience was so enjoyable that I had my own little party (apologies for leaving things a bit messy…). As for meals, they were delicious overall. Breakfast preparation was self-service style, which turned out to be very enjoyable. However, with dinner’s spare ribs dish specifically—I wasn’t sure about how well-done they should be cooked; even after cooking them thoroughly some redness remained so unfortunately had to leave them unfinished. Perhaps providing guidance on cooking methods would help? (On another note: those who regularly handle household chores might appreciate if breakfast could also be prepared by staff.) Lastly here are some minor suggestions: First—the bathtub floor felt slightly slippery; adding handrails or anti-slip measures would enhance safety especially considering its spacious size where accidental falls could pose risks. Additionally—a small step between rooms leading towards toilets may concern elderly guests accompanying families during visits. Moreover—for post-sauna experiences having thermometers available near cold baths adds convenience too! Finally—for group stays involving children renting board games enhances rainy-day entertainment options significantly! Looking forward visiting again within this year! Thank you very much!
