    It exceeded expectations and was very satisfying!

    The front desk staff provided a thorough explanation during check-in, making the process smooth and easy. Dinner portions were more than enough—almost too much to finish—but everything was incredibly delicious, completely changing my previous impression! (laughs) The exclusive lounge with free alcohol was a pleasant surprise, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time together. Next time, we’re planning to try the French cuisine!

    The sauna is clean, spacious, and excellent!

    The large public bath and open-air bath had great views and were spacious, which was very satisfying, but I especially enjoyed the sauna. Before making the Reservation, I knew it had been recently renovated, but when I visited, there were various types of saunas available. All of them were spacious, clean, and allowed me to enjoy a comfortable sauna experience!

    Room amenities are

    I stayed in a suite, but the Room's bath had no chair, and there was also no chair in the changing area, which was inconvenient. Additionally, the Facility's website mentioned that bath salts were available for the Room's bath, but I couldn't find any. After checking with the front desk, I was told that this service is no longer provided. Since I was looking forward to it, I would have appreciated prior notice or an explanation at reception.

    Located in the same building as Jozankei View Hotel. While Jozankei View Hotel is a large, family-oriented hotel, it may not align with the preferences of those booking an Executive Suite. However, the baths and elevators are shared, which diminishes any sense of exclusivity. The dining areas are separate but located on the same floor, requiring guests to pass by a large hall where approximately 200 people dine together, which detracts from the atmosphere. There is also concern that similar menus might be served as those for other guests. At the dining area, there was no explanation of the menu or mention of ingredients' origins that one might expect at this price range. The dishes lacked a sense of uniqueness or special attention to detail but were delicious. As for the room, it was very spacious and clean—highly satisfactory in that regard. However, in April, only heating was available due to seasonal settings on the air conditioning system. Even with it turned off, the room temperature remained at 28°C (82°F), making it uncomfortably warm until a fan was provided upon request. Temperature control seems challenging during transitional seasons.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    Executive Suirei offers a dedicated front desk, making check-in and check-out very smooth. There is a private underground parking lot, but it is dimly lit and requires using stairs, so if there’s no snow, it might be better to use the general parking area. The room was brand new, very clean, and comfortable. The view bath on the 16th floor was not an Onsen and the windows didn’t open, but I could relax while enjoying the scenery. The exclusive lounge provided canned beer, highballs, chuhai drinks, and more that could be taken back to the room for free enjoyment—herbal tea was especially delicious! The Onsen on the 16th floor is shared with other guests of View Hotel rather than being private; however, choosing specific times made it less crowded. Dinner featured fresh sashimi with gentle seasoning that was delightful. The breakfast clay pot rice was also excellent. Above all else, the staff's exceptional hospitality made my stay truly pleasant!

    Not acceptable!

    The room is spacious and comfortable, but the bath is shared with groups and extremely crowded. The variety of dishes is abundant, but the taste is average or below. The rice at breakfast, cooked in an earthen pot, is delicious, but other items are lacking. The salmon roe served isn't domestic autumn salmon roe; it seems to be from trout or foreign sources. Overall seasoning of the food doesn't suit my taste. Meals for infants are comparable to family restaurant standards, yet on holidays, the child rate exceeds 34,000 yen—quite expensive. A two-night stay totaled 200,000 yen! The lounge only offers canned drinks and nuts you could buy at a convenience store—hardly what you'd expect from a lounge. Diaper disposal bins are charged separately; no wine cooler rental available; reheating food requires going down to the first floor yourself—what exactly makes this an executive plan? While there’s investment in facilities (hardware), service quality (software) doesn’t match up—it’s unbalanced and not worth the accommodation cost. Running a business like this won’t work out in the long run. Before spending on commercials or advertisements, isn’t there something more important to address? I hope this feedback reaches Belluna's accommodation manager; however, since they seem to have a policy of not responding to reviews, my expectations are low.

    As mentioned by others...

    The renovated rooms are clean. The Japanese meals for dinner and breakfast are delicious and sufficiently portioned. Staff members, including those handling meal service, buffet restaurant (used on the second night), cleaning, and shuttle service, work diligently. I was aware from other reviews that the elevator and large public bath were not exclusive. However, I was informed at check-in that the 16th-floor panoramic public bath would have usage restrictions due to construction. There was no prior notice for "Executive" guests with only 33 rooms available. Although they claimed it was listed on the site during my stay's first night of a two-week construction period, as of today, there is no mention on IKYU.com at least—and I made my reservation two months ago. For multiple night stays without cleaning services requested, a small gift is supposed to be provided; however, none was given. When checking out at the exclusive counter and boarding the shuttle bus afterward, I was chased down about unpaid Hot Spring Tax while others were kept waiting in line during this process. Isn't "Executive pricing" meant to ensure smooth check-in/out experiences without complaints? If there were an "Executive-only" elevator or public bath facilities included within such fees—this interpretation might make sense. Recommended only for those who can laugh off such issues. Apologies to all hardworking staff members involved in their duties earnestly!

    A blend of new and old

    The Facility such as the bath is at Jozankei View Hotel, so it's interesting to use both the old Facility for the public and the newly built floor. However, considering the price, satisfaction was not very high. It would have been nice if there were private baths even if the club floor's exclusive bath was small.

    Not worth the price

    I visited about three months after the opening. There were many harsh reviews on other sites as well, so I was hesitant to choose another hotel, but I hoped for improvements... The result was mediocre. ● Guest Room Amenities I stayed in the Royal Suite. The room was spacious enough and had a chic color scheme, but it lacked a sense of luxury. The amenities did not feel special either. As others have mentioned, the towel rack is too small. If they are promoting the pool, they should provide more substantial ones or at least have more towels available in advance. What surprised me most was that despite being 100 square meters, the air purifier had specs similar to those found in a business hotel. It felt like they didn't want to spend money rather than intentionally minimizing furnishings. ● Service Aspect - As others have noted, there is a dedicated reception area which saves time but no welcome drink is offered. They only guide you to the elevator and do not help with luggage. - At check-in, since it was a multiple night stay, I requested trash collection and towel exchange but was told surprisingly that they don't enter rooms so please leave them outside. - There were no chairs or bath buckets in the room's bathroom; when I called reception about this issue, they replied that all loan items were already out of stock. What surprised me even more was their counter-question: "Isn't there a bath bucket in your room?" Haven't they checked? (Eventually someone brought one from somewhere...) ● Onsen Bath We used the same large public bath as Jozankei View Hotel (Jozankei Byu Hoteru). Others mentioned there were Onsen powders available but we didn't find any either. It's surprising how service has declined without visible improvements since opening elsewhere. ● Dining This part left us relatively satisfied; however what bothered us slightly during breakfast time—salads/drinks/desserts being buffet-style—was lack of explanation upon seating on our first day though meals themselves tasted good overall. Personally speaking if marketed under "new rooms at Jozankei View Hotel" concept along with corresponding price range then perhaps wouldn't receive such criticism otherwise seems like attempt changing pricing strategy by presenting differently yet falls short compared against similarly priced hotels/ryokans unfortunately must admit inferiority here... As family traveling with young children pool experience remains enjoyable hence considering revisiting Jozankei View Hotel again someday perhaps!

    There were many disappointing aspects.

    As a hotel that claims to be high-class, there were too many disappointing points. First, we were assigned the underground parking lot, but there is no elevator from there to the hotel entrance. We somehow managed to climb the icy stairs with heavy luggage up to the first floor. My husband had undergone spinal surgery and couldn't carry heavy things or handle stairs well, so I carried both of our luggage while he slowly conquered each step one by one. It was unfortunate that when we called to confirm about parking, they didn't mention this; otherwise, we would have parked after unloading at the front desk initially. Those with weak legs should take caution! Regarding room amenities: Usually in this class of hotel, basic skincare products and body lotion are provided; however, not only was there no body lotion but also only a meager set of sample-like basic cosmetics handed over at the front desk. No shower cap either. Also, since the attached bath in our room wasn't an onsen (hot spring), I expected at least some bath salts would be available—but even those weren't provided until requested for both items separately. Furthermore—despite half of one large public bath being under construction—the reservation site did not share this information which left us astonished! On top of that—we weren't informed about bringing towels from our rooms when going into these baths—so went empty-handed causing panic! This should definitely be communicated during check-in process itself... When considering returning back towards retrieving them luckily enough housekeeping staff nearby hallway close-by brought us two sets each (bath & regular) towels instead allowing me pass onto husband inside male section where access restricted myself personally entering therein thus grateful towards their assistance indeed! The lounge offered free drinks along with light snacks like nuts yet lacking windows created claustrophobic atmosphere making relaxation impossible hence quickly retreated post single beer consumed alongside spouse returning promptly thereafter unto respective quarters again. Dining area remained quiet friendly ambiance overall though every time questions arose concerning ingredients/alcohol waitstaff repeatedly responded "I'll find out" without knowledge themselves eventually leading embarrassment ceasing inquiries altogether especially breakfast rice brand query yielding identical reply suggesting need further training perhaps? Room itself featured open window providing comfort satisfaction nonetheless ultimately achieved therein overall experience despite aforementioned issues encountered throughout stay duration hereupon     This time, we stayed...

    This time, we stayed at the Executive Suite Suirei's Royal Suite. There has never been an Onsen as disappointing as this. It's nice for families with small children to enjoy swimming in the pool together.

    Relax at a nearby Onsen from Sapporo Station

    We stayed at Jozankei after visiting the Snow Festival, Tomamu, and the surrounding areas. We were guided to Suirei at the entrance and had a pleasant check-in experience. The Room was comfortable, with the best bed for sleeping during this trip. The breakfast and dinner were Japanese cuisine, beautifully presented, allowing us to enjoy them leisurely. Unfortunately, there was a downside as there seemed to be fewer washing stations due to a faucet malfunction in the bath area. The view from the indoor bath was better than that from the open-air bath. This time we could stay very affordably by using points and other offers, so we were very satisfied.

    The renovated Room was good, but

    The new Room was spacious and furnished for a comfortable stay. The meals were excellent in terms of menu, taste, and portion size. The lounge was small, and the BGM volume was too loud, making it difficult to relax quietly. The Onsen retained the old feel of the building and was crowded as it was shared with guests from the view Hotel, which was disappointing. However, the new Room and meals alone were satisfying and enjoyable.

    Relatively low-rated as a Hotel with a Club Lounge Plan

    [Good Points] Observation Bath, Guest Room, Priority Check-in/Out The bath on the top floor had a great view and was relatively well-organized and maintained. The guest room was clean and spacious after renovation, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The priority check-in/out with a lounge was convenient as there was no waiting, unlike the general guest rooms. The meals were delicious, though a bit more volume would have been appreciated. [Bad Points] Treatment of Foreigners, Staff Response, Transportation, Shop Products There were many foreigners, and their manners were quite poor. The large public bath was disorganized and unclean (entering the changing room with shoes, leaving towels without returning them, many left in baskets, the sink area was cluttered with tissues, and hairdryers scattered), and several Japanese guests were troubled by having their slippers taken. They would leave the changing room without wiping their bodies, leaving the floor wet. The staff did not know the location of the Kappa Liner bus stop, and there was no prior guidance at the front desk despite the elevator being crowded during check-out time, causing many guests to be unable to board. The hotel's free shuttle bus only runs once a day. The alternative Kappa Liner bus also has few services, and since all hotel guests in Jozankei use it, reservations are hard to get. I felt very uncomfortable as tourists, including myself, took up seats and brought many suitcases on the local bus, which is supposed to be for local residents. Points for Improvement - Executive floor guests should have a dedicated elevator. - Guidance alone is insufficient for foreigners; a comprehensive approach including traffic flow is necessary. - More priority should be given to executive floor guests (priority boarding on the free shuttle bus, dedicated elevator, exclusive use of the observation bath).

    Disappointing and Painful Experience

    Honestly, it was disappointing. I thought it was a different building because it was advertised on a separate page from the View Hotel, but it was the same building, sharing the elevator and the bath, with no comfort at all. I couldn't understand what was executive about the suite. To be extreme, only the room was remodeled to look like it, and the rest was just a regular View Hotel. The only somewhat good point was the room's size; everything else was lacking. The reservation method for the shuttle service was unfriendly, and even though I was supposed to have made a reservation, it wasn't booked, and the alternative was public transportation, which was very crowded, and I had to stand all the way to Sapporo Station, making it the worst experience. It would be much better if they doubled the price and provided proper service. It was at a level where I never want to go again.
