    A pampas grass field stretching from the plateau to the sea.

    This is a modern, comfortable luxury Hotel with excellent access. It seems to be on the former site of another Hotel, but the building is large and spacious, with a clean design that feels completely brand-new. The staff service is very good. The Room is functional, well designed, and easy to relax in. I would appreciate it if the bathroom had a separate washing area. The Hotel sits on higher ground, with guest Rooms on floors 3–5, and there are no buildings blocking the view from the windows, so you can see far into the distance. It would be perfect if you could see the sea or mountains as well. At night, the city lights are beautiful. The spa has Moor Onsen water; lockers and other facilities are well maintained, and everything is clean inside. Everywhere feels stylish. Beer was ordered via room service. Dinner was served in a spacious private room: modern Japanese cuisine that pairs well with wine—delicious. Looking back at past Reviews, it seems new ideas have been introduced one by one and improvements are continuing. Breakfast was in a restaurant overlooking the garden. Since there were few guests, it felt very relaxed. I’d like to stay again while the Hotel is still new.

    Excellent Accommodation

    Stylish and clean, with a wonderful bath and sauna! The Room is thoughtfully designed with great furnishings. I chose the extended stay option until 1 PM, but the morning bath was only available until 9 AM... If day-use bathing starts at 10 AM, it would be nice if extended stay guests could use it until 1 PM! Haha. Still, the sauna was very clean, so I’d love to come back again.

    A stylish, high-end Accommodation

    I’d been wanting to stay here since it opened last year, but because of the location and transportation options, I ended up choosing Onsen Accommodations near Tokyo or longer trips farther away. By chance, there was an event nearby, so I stayed this time. The Room was very clean, and the furnishings were tasteful (down to the small details). The Onsen was a type I wasn’t familiar with called “moor spring,” but it was excellent. I’ve stayed at many hot springs including free-flowing natural spring baths, and both the water quality and the facilities here were great—stylish, open, with spacious baths and a sauna. I rated only the meals 3 stars. There aren’t many restaurants in the area, and because closing times are relatively early I didn’t think I’d make it to dinner at the restaurant, so I ate in the lounge instead. Since it’s a lounge I didn’t expect much food-wise, but I wish there had been a better selection of alcohol—for example, draft beer would have been nice. What disappointed me most was that although Japanese cuisine is offered, the Japanese breakfast was honestly the worst among those I’ve had recently (at Ryokan/Hotels). You should definitely choose Western-style breakfast here. For one thing, the rice was oddly mushy; even though there’s a grill setup it felt somewhat cheap; and overall what came with it left me unconvinced. The restaurant atmosphere is nice, so it felt mismatched. At this level, I felt it would be better to offer either a buffet or only Western-style options and improve quality instead. I’ve written various points above, but from check-in to check-out the male staff member who assisted us provided excellent hospitality and service—I’m truly grateful—and although it was just one night, my stay was very comfortable. This time we used taxis for all transportation and it wasn’t too expensive overall; however (perhaps most guests are local), if there were a Shuttle Service from the station it would be much easier to visit.

    A Luxurious, Extraordinary Escape

    I’d long missed the Grand Hotel that had been loved by locals for years, and I kept wishing I could soak in that bath again. This time, to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we had the chance to stay at the newly renovated GREENITY IWATA. We left home, and while traveling around the city everything looked completely familiar as usual, but the moment we stepped inside the Hotel, that “local” feeling quickly faded away. A female staff member guided us to a suite on the 5th floor. That day we were also looking forward to watching sumo results, and we got really excited watching it on the large TV in our Room. Of course we cared about the outcome, but before dinner we headed to the bath we’d been looking forward to. There are two baths, and it’s nice that they alternate between men and women depending on the day. The coffee-colored Onsen was just as memorable as ever, and there’s an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna as well. Dinner was a course meal with beautiful presentation, and everything was delicious. For us as a couple it all felt special and out of the ordinary, making it a wonderful anniversary memory. We’re truly grateful. If I had to mention one negative point: there were so many light switches in the Room that I kept clicking them on and off repeatedly—it felt hard to figure out. Next time I might try lunch with access to the baths.

    It was amazing!

    I stayed here as a birthday gift for my mother. I’d been curious about this Accommodation for a long time through Instagram and Reviews. First, the front desk and lobby atmosphere—and the stylish Christmas-themed decorations—were wonderful and immediately raised our expectations. When we entered the Room, we were amazed by the great taste and interior design that was exactly our style. We also appreciated the gifts of face masks and cream (even the wrapping was chic), plus complimentary coffee, tea, and sweets from a lovely local café. Personally, I loved the instant camera service—we had fun taking photos of the cute Room interior and of ourselves. The dinner course was delicious in both flavor and presentation, and even though we made a last-minute request the day before, they prepared an adorable dessert plate and even a gift for my mother—she was thrilled. The Onsen and sauna were spacious, clean, and helped us completely forget everyday stress. Breakfast was healthy yet filling, letting us fully enjoy local flavors as well—we were very satisfied. We kept telling each other how amazing it was to find such a paradise so close to home. The staff’s hospitality was outstanding, and it became the best way to show appreciation to my mother. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much!

    The Hotel is new, an...

    The Hotel is new, and everything from the entrance to the Room was clean, functional, and lovely. It was also nice that the tea and coffee provided in the Room were all local products and offered in a good variety. We made a Reservation for dinner at Ricca. While the spacious setting was pleasant, the plates didn’t match the atmosphere and felt more like an old wedding venue. The staff spoke so quietly when explaining the dishes that we couldn’t understand them, and there was no explanation of which items were organic. When we asked for butter with our bread, we were surprised to be handed butter still wrapped in paper. One staff member explained things in an overly casual way (“So, um… this is…”) which didn’t feel like French dining at a Hotel. The venue itself is beautiful, but it felt like the service hasn’t fully caught up yet overall. The Onsen in the Room is a rare moor Onsen. It was disappointing that the chlorine smell was strong, but being able to bathe while looking out over Iwata’s townscape was a great experience as a traveler. With lots of greenery, generous space, and stylish design, this is a Hotel that would definitely become a hot topic if it were in central Tokyo. I hope they keep improving from here.

    I stay here when goi...

    I stay here when going golfing in the Iwata area. The entire Hotel is spotless, and the staff are always so pleasant—this is one of my favorite hotels. The bath and sauna are excellent. If I could ask for just one thing, I would love it if the bathing hours could be extended a little longer. I look forward to staying again.

    It was a very cozy Hotel, and I was able to relax at a leisurely pace. The in-room Onsen felt absolutely wonderful, but the water temperature was very difficult to adjust, which was quite stressful. Also, this may not be the Hotel’s fault, but I had asked the Hotel to arrange a taxi to the station timed for my train. When I got into the taxi that day, the driver told me that train service had been suspended since yesterday evening, so I had to change plans and take the taxi not to the nearest station but all the way to a Shinkansen station. Luckily I made it in time, but if someone had given me a quick heads-up that morning, I could have left earlier and avoided rushing. That said, when relaxing at a Hotel I hardly check the news at all—so this is partly on me.

    Guest Room

    In the Room, slippers were provided so you could relax without wearing outdoor shoes in the bed area. However, I assumed those slippers should not be used in the toilet, sink area, or shower booth. Does that mean you are expected to change into your own shoes or the Onsen sandals each time? In reality, I imagine many guests end up moving around the Room in the same slippers and walking into areas where they ideally should not be worn. After leaving the shower booth, I wasn’t sure where to place the bath mat or what footwear I was supposed to use. There was also no shelf or table near the sink to place clothes and other items, so I had no choice but to move the heavy table by the window over to the wash area. The shower booth also leaked a little water outside (possibly due to an issue with the door seal), so I placed my bath mat on top of a large plastic sheet that I brought with me. The toilet also seemed not designed with female guests in mind—there was nowhere to place or hang sanitary items or a pouch. Even my husband felt that how the spare toilet paper was stored seemed unhygienic. Here again, I wasn’t sure whether I should enter wearing slippers, shoes, or Onsen sandals. Also, ReFa hair dryers are large and heavy for women, and because this model frequently changes temperature during use, it takes longer for hair to dry—this is a type that has received complaints at other Hotels as well. A minor point: are the buttons on the loungewear too stiff for elderly guests? It would be good to check how visible the table and chairs by the window are from the road. With windows that wide, curtains that open from around the center would be easier to use. Regarding guest Rooms overall, I think it would help if Hotel staff actually stayed overnight themselves and reviewed comfort from a guest’s perspective—what feels inconvenient or unhygienic—and then made improvements. I have traveled widely and stayed at many Hotels; however, this Hotel’s bed (firmness, bounce/support level, width/space, and height) suited me extremely well. Although I usually cannot sleep deeply at most Hotels, here I slept so soundly that I almost missed breakfast. There are many highly rated Reviews here—and because there are points in those Reviews that I do agree with—I intentionally focused (as in my post during my Multiple Night Stay) on small details that concerned me as well. Finally, considering this was a renovation supervised by TOTO، it felt like there is still room for improvement around water-related facilities. Also، it would be nice if there were some way so guests heading to Onsen in loungewear are not visible from areas used by front desk and bar counter customers.

    Opinions may differ.

    I think opinions about this Hotel will vary depending on your age and what kind of travel experiences you’ve had so far. When I made a Reservation through IKYU and the official website, I imagined it as a casual auberge with an Onsen, but once there, the location felt more like a Business Hotel. That said, they have landscaped the limited grounds with many kinds of trees and plants, creating a compact healing space that feels different from the surroundings. There were many young staff members, so some interactions felt a bit inexperienced, but nothing was unpleasant—they were polite. I hope they will receive guidance from good senior staff or leaders so they can take their attentiveness to the next level. However, there are three major points I would like to see improved. First: meals. During our Multiple Night Stay, my husband chose the Western breakfast and I chose the Japanese breakfast. With the Japanese set, even if you keep grilling the fish until the flame goes out, only the surface burns and it doesn’t warm through. I understand this may have been an intentional touch, but it would be better to serve it properly heated from the kitchen without tabletop grilling. As for the rice, I’m not sure if it was freshly cooked; perhaps it had too much moisture or was pressed into the bowl too firmly—either way, none of the grains stood up at all. For dinner, they changed the content even though we had Reserved the same Plan for multiple nights. On night one everything was delicious overall, though cutlery replacement felt a bit too quick. On night two we had different dishes; each item (except for the main fish) tasted good on its own, but as a course meal it didn’t flow well. The first plate (the cooking technique was elaborate and used local shellfish—tasty as a standalone dish) tasted quite garlicky to me and affected how we enjoyed what followed. Then there was too much bread with onion gratin soup; next came fish in puff pastry with butter sauce again—both heavy in succession. Even with beurre blanc sauce again compared to day one’s version this felt harder to eat; in particular,the spicy ratatouille tasted forced rather than balanced.The sirloin that followed was delicious,but for dessert,potato cheese black sesame,and nuts together were simply too heavy for us as a couple in our 60s. Second: Onsen. The water itself was very good,but unfortunately,the drainage at washing area and floor condition were disappointing.It’s easy for trouble when other people’s rinse water flows over to you,and floor also dries poorly. Third: guest room. The refrigerator absolutely needs improvement.It doesn’t cool inside,and significant heat builds up around unit.I think it will eventually fail.The table and chairs by window show no consideration for how visible guests are from passing cars outside,making impossible to open curtains.(More on this under No Meals Included.)

    We recommend the garden and the spa Facility.

    The guest room, amenities, and front desk service were all excellent. As for the meals included in the Accommodation Plan, they were average—more like banquet-style catering. Breakfast is good. There is a bar at the back of the lobby, but it’s best not to expect much as a bar. Parking is outdoors. It isn’t visible from outside the property, but security is at your own risk. Vehicles around 2 meters in size are fine. The garden is very beautiful. You can enjoy different atmospheres in the morning, daytime, and at night. The large public bath (spa Facility) is highly recommended. Both the sauna and hot water are excellent. It’s dark and steps inside the tub can be hard to see, so please watch your footing to avoid falls. For overnight stays, it alternates daily, so you can enjoy two different types. This was my second stay, and it’s an Accommodation I’d happily return to for the garden and spa alone.

    Thank you for your support.

    I made a Reservation because I wanted to relax on my husband’s birthday. During sightseeing that day, he started feeling unwell. Since it was before check-in time, I hoped he could rest in the lobby, but even though it was early, we were kindly shown to our Room. After he rested and felt better, we planned to have dinner at the Hotel, but unfortunately the Japanese restaurant was fully booked. Next time, I’d like to make a Reservation in advance. The spa on site has a calm and lovely atmosphere. The indirect lighting is very soothing. However, the moor hot spring has dark water, so it’s hard to see the steps. I’m glad I tried it once while it was still light (laugh). It warms you up and leaves your skin feeling moisturized—very pleasant water. All of the staff were friendly and provided courteous service. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    It matches the concept, but…

    I liked the Hotel’s wellness-and-nature concept, but I hardly felt any hospitality from the staff… At check-in, I had to look for someone at the front desk while carrying my luggage. For some reason, only a Western-style breakfast was available (was the Japanese set already sold out? It also seemed like they didn’t even know how many guests were staying). At check-out, it was just “Okay, goodbye.” I had high expectations, so it was disappointing.

    A New, Comfortable Hotel

    It was a very good Hotel, and we were satisfied with the Facility, service, and meals. Breakfast was quite ordinary, but the French dinner was excellent and we really enjoyed it. One thing we would like improved is that the Room refrigerator was empty. We were told to buy drinks from the vending machines at the large public bath or in the lounge, but I usually like to relax with a beer after bathing. However, there was no alcohol in the vending machines, and you cannot go to the lounge in yukata/indoor wear used for going to the bath, so having to change clothes each time was very inconvenient. I don’t know why the Room refrigerator is kept empty, but I would appreciate it if at least beer and soft drinks could be provided. Aside from this point, we were almost completely satisfied. We would like to stay again if we have another opportunity. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Everything is perfect.

    Dinner was unavailable due to construction affecting the Japanese cuisine option, so only breakfast was provided. However, the meals were delicious and made with local ingredients. The view from the Room and the Facility were excellent, and since it was a weekday, the bath was not crowded, so I could relax and enjoy my stay. I will stay here again soon.

    The Hotel’s design w...

    The Hotel’s design was wonderful, and when I arrived I felt glad I had chosen it, but after that there were many disappointing moments. When I asked questions or made requests, the staff response was not very good. Their wording was polite and they tried to be courteous, but it didn’t feel like they were truly empathetic. I wished there were more staff who could respond from the guest’s perspective. I had both dinner and breakfast, but at the teppanyaki counter they were loudly clattering and knocking things over, which took away from the experience even though some dishes tasted good. I also felt the seasoning was a bit too strong. Breakfast was poor for the price. I left most of both the Japanese and Western options. I have never been so disappointed with a breakfast before. I think the flavors need to be reviewed. Even when there were no guests around, staff members kept talking among themselves; when I turned around because it bothered me, they lowered their voices but continued talking. Overall, it felt negative from my first impression onward, and it ended up being a somewhat disappointing trip.

    I had high expectations after seeing the Hotel photos and Reviews, and both the facilities and service met them perfectly. I stopped by on my way from Tokyo to Kyoto, and I think this will become part of my routine going forward.

    The bath and the Roo...

    The bath and the Room were both great, and it’s a relaxing place to stay—this was my third visit. This time there was information about morning yoga, and I would have liked to join if the timing worked, but it was too early so I skipped it. I’d like to participate if I have another chance. I really like this Hotel, but one thing that was a bit disappointing this time was the breakfast guidance. At check-in, I heard “This Plan does not include breakfast...” about four times. I made the Reservation knowing that, so I didn’t need that repeated explanation, and it felt like a first-time overview of the Hotel. At other places—even on a second stay—they sometimes ask whether explanations are still needed since they explained them last time, so this felt a little lacking in guest information management. Overall, though, I was satisfied again with both the Room and the bath at this Hotel.

    Otherworldly Space

    I used to live in Iwata, and even after seeing the photos on the website I wasn’t fully convinced, but from the moment we arrived it felt like stepping into another world. We arrived in the evening, and the illuminated garden and Hotel looked magical. Not only was the entire Facility impeccably clean, but the plants in both the garden and our room were also very well cared for. The staff service was excellent as well. The brownish moor Onsen had a silky texture, and my wife—who thought this was something you could only experience in Hokkaido—was absolutely delighted. We enjoyed the Western-style breakfast, though it was a little lightly seasoned. The coffee could be improved slightly. We’d love to visit again next year—this time with our daughters as well. Thank you very much.

    I used this accommodation during my trip to Shizuoka Prefecture.

    I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, and this Hotel stood out for its clean Room and excellent staff service. At breakfast, we could hear construction noise outside the Hotel, and a staff member personally came over to apologize for the disturbance—such thoughtful attention was perfect. (We were just chatting with my partner about what they might be building, so it didn’t really bother us.) This is a Hotel I’d like to stay at again on my next trip.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. This was our second stay at Greenity as a stopover when traveling in the Kansai area (we usually get around by our own car), and this time we stayed in a suite. It was leaps and bounds better than the standard Room we had on our first visit, and we were extremely satisfied. The Room was spacious with a great view, the in-room bath was more than large enough, and everything was wonderfully comfortable. It even came with drink vouchers for the bar. If I had to make one request, it would be nice to have bathrobes in the Room, but at this price point with this level of service, it feels almost unfair to complain. We look forward to staying again often whenever we travel to the Kansai area.

    I want to stay here again!

    It was new, and the Room was clean, stylish, and very comfortable. However, both the Room and the Onsen changing area were too cold, so I would like you to adjust the air conditioning a bit more in summer. In the Onsen changing area, I could also hear other guests saying it was cold. The Onsen water was lukewarm as well, so I would like it to be a bit hotter. I would like to visit again, so thank you in advance.

    We stayed here to celebrate our 2-year-old child’s birthday. The Room, Onsen, and Facility were all very clean, and the staff were kind. The meals were also delicious, and we were very satisfied. We would love to stay again!

    First-time guest

    Just as the Reviews said, the Facility is new and spotless, and both the room design and amenities were great. The Onsen was also very relaxing, and I was able to take my time. However, the food was a bit disappointing. This time I only had breakfast, but the selection of free drinks was far too limited— even for a Business Hotel, I expected more. It’s nice that you can choose between a Japanese or Western set menu, but the contents were underwhelming. Since the Facility is excellent, I’d like to see more effort put into the meals. I’m looking forward to improvements. Even so, it’s a Hotel I’d like to stay at again, and I plan to return next month.

    Second stay

    This was my second stay at this Facility, and I really love it. It’s truly wonderful, which is exactly why I’d like to see improvements on the service side. The service staff and the Facility didn’t always feel in sync, and the food and drinks were often disappointing. With better guidance on beverages and service, it could be even better. This time you were very considerate, so taking the Facility’s strengths into account, I gave it 5 stars. Please keep it up—I’m looking forward to seeing improvements.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. We used this Accommodation on our way back from Mie to Shonan, but because the previous day’s Accommodation was excellent, this one left only a disappointing impression. The Room had a large Onsen bath, but it wasn’t filled when we arrived. We had to fill it ourselves and also adjust the temperature by mixing hot and cold water, which was disappointing despite staying in what should have been a nice Room. The staff’s explanation of the Room was generic; there wasn’t even a building map, and there was no explanation of emergency exits. Dinner was French cuisine, but it was disappointing and overwhelmed the natural flavors of the ingredients. Both my wife and I had heartburn after the meal and ended up needing stomach medicine. It’s very unfortunate, because the Facility itself is impressive.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I arrived earlier than expected on the day of check-in, and I really appreciated how kindly the front desk staff assisted me. The property and the Room were clean, and all the staff greeted me with smiles, making my stay very comfortable. Thank you very much.

    They were very kind and helpful on the phone.

    It was a larger Hotel than I expected, and it was very modern and clean. However, we didn’t receive any explanation from the staff either before entering the Room or after we arrived, so it would have been helpful to be told where to find information such as the Wi-Fi details. The Room itself was clean, but there were potato chips on the floor—possibly left behind by a previous guest. The bed for Child Sharing Existing Bedding felt a little narrow, but it was spacious enough for one person. The baths had completely different atmospheres between the men’s and women’s areas, and both were wonderful. I didn’t feel the skincare amenities were particularly good, but the hair dryer was a latest model. I also used the massage service, and it was surprisingly excellent. Dinner for adults was delicious (though I didn’t like the grape? jelly dessert—unfortunately), but the children’s meals at both breakfast and dinner were not very satisfying for the price. When booking for 2 adults and 2 children, it showed that we needed to make a Reservation for two Rooms, so we booked two. However, when we made our dining Reservation on the day of arrival, a staff member suggested that one Room might be sufficient and kindly changed it to one Room with no Cancellation Fee. We are truly grateful for this.
