A Special Stay Deeply Moved by the Charm of Amakusa
After watching a TV program featuring purple sea urchin, we visited looking forward to the dining experience. The cuisine, making the most of Amakusa’s abundant natural bounty, was far beyond our expectations—truly outstanding. We also appreciated the thoughtful explanations about the ingredients and stories about the producers, and enjoyed a wonderful time with the paired drinks. Dinner enjoyed while watching the beautiful sunset is a special memory we will never forget. A stylish and comfortable Room, an Onsen with ocean views, and breathtaking scenery right before our eyes—everything was exceptional and deeply relaxing. Most memorable of all was the warm hospitality of your staff, who clearly love Amakusa. Their desire to share Amakusa’s charm and ensure every guest truly enjoys their stay came through in every detail, and thanks to their attentive care we felt comfortable throughout. It became an unforgettable stay for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Everything was wonderful!
My first time visiting Kumamoto. This Accommodation instantly felt like the one I had to stay at for at least one night when coming to Kumamoto. That feeling was spot on, and I had a truly fulfilling stay! Amakusa is rich in nature and local ingredients, and I was able to enjoy it to the fullest! The staff were wonderful as well, and their hospitality warmed my heart. This is an Accommodation I’d definitely love to visit again! Thank you for taking such great care of me!

A Luxurious Hidden Retreat
A truly exceptional hidden-away Hotel that you can’t reach using a rental car’s navigation system. It’s not the kind of place everyone can stay at—and perhaps that’s perfectly fine. Set on a scenic hilltop, swallows dive into the pool in front of your Room to drink water—such a soothing sight. The service is polished and never feels perfunctory. Both dinner and breakfast offer so many dishes they can’t possibly all fit on the menu, and each one delights both the eyes and the palate. Local ingredients, tableware by local ceramic artists—an uncompromising love for Amakusa throughout. You’ll be amazed at just how richly blessed Amakusa is. The chic, black-toned Room is spacious and wonderful, but it’s disappointing that such a large Room has only one bathroom vessel sink (you naturally expect two), that the powder-room functionality is limited, and that the floors are not truly barrier-free. Still, there’s no doubt that the staff’s genuine smiles, thoughtful attention to detail, passion for Amakusa, and deep commitment to TAYUTA more than make up for those shortcomings—making this an outstanding Hotel.

My stay was comfortable from start to finish, and I was truly impressed by the attentive hospitality down to the smallest details. The Room, Onsen, and meals all exceeded my expectations, allowing me to enjoy a truly special time. I think this is a wonderful Accommodation where you can experience an extraordinary escape. An unforgettable stay—possibly the best ever
It would be no exaggeration to say that this stay was the best among all the Hotels I have ever stayed at. Above all, the cuisine was truly outstanding—an experience that felt like “heaven.” The variety of dishes was impressive, and each ingredient freshly sourced from Amakusa was carefully and deliciously prepared. I was moved throughout the entire meal. When serving each dish, the staff also shared stories about the ingredients and wine, which made it especially enjoyable—not just eating, but appreciating the background as well. Everything was delicious, but what stood out most were the sushi with Amakusa kuruma prawns and Amakusa ishigaki sea bream, and the steak made with Amakusa black beef loin. Each dish brought out the best of its ingredients, and in particular, the steak had such concentrated flavor that it became an unforgettable plate. At breakfast, both “Kumasan no Kagayaki” rice and Tamango egg-over-rice were also incredibly delicious—I was impressed from first thing in the morning. The service was excellent as well. The staff’s warm and attentive hospitality left a strong impression. Everyone—including those in the kitchen—greeted us pleasantly, and thoughtful care could be felt everywhere. The Room was a villa type with each unit separate, so we hardly encountered other guests at all. We were able to relax in a private space at our own pace. From welcome drinks to checkout, every moment felt special—it was a truly fulfilling stay. This is a wonderful Accommodation that I would love to visit again.

An Accommodation That Exceeds Expectations and Delivers True Satisfaction
The staff, cuisine, and baths—everything about this Accommodation exceeded our expectations. This time, we also received a Room upgrade and were able to fully enjoy the open-air bath. The water felt wonderfully soft, and after bathing my body stayed warm and comfortable. Dinner in particular made the most of each ingredient’s natural flavors, with beautifully presented dishes that were a delight to the eyes as well. The purple sea urchin available only at this time of year was outstanding, and ordering an extra portion was absolutely the right choice. I was also happy to see they offered non-alcoholic pairings alongside the wine pairing options, as I don’t drink alcohol. Breakfast was equally satisfying—I could enjoy small portions of many delicious items and truly start the day feeling happy. We took home leftover freshly cooked rice as onigiri, and it was still exceptional even when eaten at home. Every staff member was attentive, allowing us to spend a deeply relaxing time. This has become one of the Accommodations we’d love to revisit once it gets colder and Onsen season returns.

The highlight of my ...
The highlight of my trip to Kumamoto was staying here at TAYUTA. I decided to go for a Multiple Night Stay, and it was absolutely the right choice. On the second day, with no particular plans, I simply followed my mood—relaxing on the terrace, soaking in the Onsen, and taking a walk to nearby Takamoku Island. It felt like being at a tropical resort somewhere like the Maldives; I was able to truly unwind. The meals were also outstanding. Dinner and breakfast made full use of an unbelievable variety of Amakusa ingredients, and each course was one delight after another. After such an incredible first night, I wondered if the second night could possibly live up to it—but that worry was unfounded. The second night was just as wonderful. Hats off to you. The dining manager’s hospitality was especially pleasant. (I went to the liquor shop in Kumamoto City—thank you for recommending it!) There was a small mistake during my stay, but it was handled with sincere care. Mistakes happen—we’re all human. What matters is how they are addressed afterward, and that response is what shows an Accommodation’s true quality. In that respect, TAYUTA handled everything properly, and I completely forgot any lingering frustration. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again. Thank you very much for everything.

A luxurious accommodation you'll want to keep a secret.
Blessed with good weather in December, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Amakusa and spent two comfortable nights at a luxurious accommodation. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a stunning view of Amakusa from inside the facility and welcomed with a glass of our favorite Dom Pérignon as a welcome drink. The meals (featuring carefully selected ingredients and dishes showcasing the chef's creativity), service (heartfelt hospitality tailored to guests), amenities (attention to detail in items such as wine glasses, Amakusa pottery cups, toothbrushes, towels, etc.), onsen (a golden hot spring in the room that was truly moving), and room comfort—all exceeded expectations. The starry sky was breathtakingly beautiful; next time, I am determined to make a reservation during a meteor shower. I discovered this exceptional accommodation while searching for highly-rated places to stay and decided it was worth visiting. Usually, I don’t feel reluctant to leave after my stay; however, two nights felt insufficient—I wished I could have stayed for another week due to its incredible comfort. To everyone who provided heartfelt care during our visit: thank you for making this trip an unforgettable memory. This is truly an extraordinary accommodation that exceeded all expectations. The young head chef shows great promise for the future. The hospitality exceeded even that of well-known accommodations in Kanto or Kansai regions popular among international visitors. While I may not be able to visit frequently as I age, if I can secure a reservation again, I would love to stay here once more. A Wonderful Time
I had always been curious about the luxurious resort hotel that recently opened in Amakusa. Finally, my wish came true, and I was able to visit. It was truly a time that could be described as "the best" in every way. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised and deeply moved by the thoughtful upgrade of my room. Although it rained and I couldn't see the sunset I had been looking forward to, it gives me something to look forward to on my next visit. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience. If I may make one request, there was a significant delay in email communication when making or confirming reservations, which made me feel quite uneasy. You provide exceptional hospitality in every aspect, and while I'm sure it's challenging given your Michelin recognition as an outstanding destination, improving email response times would be greatly appreciated. As more travelers are likely to choose TAYUTA as their destination in the future, enhancing this aspect would further elevate your already excellent service quality.

At TAYUTA
We stayed as an elderly couple. Being over 70, we preferred relaxation over sightseeing, and this accommodation was perfect for that. The meals and everything else were a full score of 30 points. It was our first visit to Amakusa City in 48 years, but since it’s far from Chiba Prefecture, staying just one day feels wasteful—this is an accommodation where you’d want at least two days.

The service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious!
The staff's service was truly outstanding, scoring a perfect 120 out of 100. The food was incredibly delicious, and we were extremely satisfied with the additional dishes like the sea urchin rice and mini sea urchin bowl. Dinner was a fusion of French and Japanese cuisine, allowing us to enjoy Amakusa's ingredients and tableware. Breakfast was served one dish at a time instead of all at once, which impressed us with its thoughtfulness. Despite dietary restrictions due to pregnancy, they went above and beyond to create innovative dishes for me, even accommodating my request for cooked sushi—something I deeply appreciated. We learned that staying for two nights allows you to enjoy completely different meals each day, so we look forward to visiting again for a two-night stay next time. The room's bath had excellent water quality that rejuvenated both body and mind. It was such a wonderful accommodation that we are eager to return!

Happy Amakusa
Even though it was a one-night stay, the 19 hours flew by with wonderful moments. The spacious detached area, the serene guest room, the open-air Onsen bath, the Amakusa cuisine crafted with local ingredients, and above all, the warm and heartfelt service from those who love Amakusa—all of these were captivating. It was truly a place where adults can unwind and rediscover themselves, making it worth traveling far to visit. One note: while our room was upgraded, it wasn’t barrier-free. Also, having an extra box of very soft tissues in the room would have been nice. If possible someday, I’d love to enjoy a relaxing multiple night stay while gazing at the sea... The experience of a lifetime
I travel to various places every week, but I felt compelled to write my first review because I truly want everyone who comes across this accommodation to visit at least once. This was genuinely the best accommodation experience of my life. We were kindly upgraded to a suite room. The stunning view of Amakusa from the new and pristine room was breathtaking. The sauna with adjustable temperature and the pool with perfectly comfortable water were amazing. The outdoor relaxation under the starry sky is something I will never forget. Every aspect of this accommodation is exceptional, but what left the biggest impression on me was the food. It was so incredibly delicious that it felt like a dream. We enjoyed an extraordinary dinner featuring fresh ingredients from Amakusa, with an impressive variety of dishes (yet perfectly portioned!). The seasonal sea urchin was so delicious that it surprised my taste buds. We also indulged in additional sea urchin sushi, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff members who assisted us. They were kind and attentive down to every detail, even their tone of voice was soothing. TAYUTA exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a truly valuable time in an amazing location and a beautiful VILLA unlike anything we’ve experienced before. The accommodation, cuisine, and hospitality are all of the highest standard in Japan. Once you stay here, you'll understand why this hotel truly deserves a five-star rating. Although it is a high-priced hotel, it exceeded my expectations. Considering the quality of service, it even feels like great value for money. If you're tired from work, this is the perfect place to unwind. First of all, the accommodation environment is excellent. The room features an onsen with free-flowing hot spring water where you can relax while enjoying the natural beauty of Amakusa. While the view may not surpass Matsushima due to city lights in sight, the small islands and calm sea visible from your room will make you forget about daily life. The room is clean with a serene atmosphere and attention to detail in every item provided. Though some items are stored out of sight for neatness—making them slightly hard to locate—the staff explains everything during check-in. There are few trash bins available; however, I personally found this acceptable. The minibar had four ice creams stocked—a delightful touch! Since I stayed in April, spending time on the terrace was comfortable as well. Despite being surrounded by trees where insects might be expected, there were none at all. The highlight has to be the cuisine here. Using plenty of local ingredients while achieving exceptional flavors across every dish was impressive enough—but they also use organically grown vegetables prepared healthily so that even eating until full doesn't burden your stomach at all! While many restaurants offer good food elsewhere—this one operates on another level entirely; each meal reflects its creator's passion deeply felt throughout dinner lasting two hours akin almost like watching an extraordinary play leaving immense satisfaction afterward. Additionally noteworthy: their outstanding hospitality shines through—from staff demeanor down-to-earth responses showing thorough training evident everywhere around them too! One memorable instance involved sudden rain just before heading towards dinner scheduled 6 PM walking Villa-to-Main Building initially planned instead requested car pickup hesitantly yet surprisingly already dispatched proactively beforehand without hesitation whatsoever making overall experience seamless pleasant beyond expectations altogether! This trip primarily aimed exploring Amakusa sightseeing purposes initially turned unexpectedly into cherishing unforgettable holiday moments solely thanks staying within such remarkable accommodations themselves alone now considering returning future purely focused revisiting reliving similar experiences wholeheartedly grateful entire team delivering excellence consistently throughout duration stay indeed!

Simply delicious
The cuisine is absolutely delicious. The staff's dedication to ensuring guests fully enjoy their time at TAYUTA was evident, making it a perfect one-night, two-day stay. The Onsen, though a saline spring, was gentle on my sensitive skin, allowing me to bathe multiple times without any discomfort. Both dinner and breakfast featured skillful use of fruits and herbs, offering a delightful taste of early spring in Amakusa. The amuse-bouche candy at dinner, squid sashimi, and the main meat dish were particularly outstanding. I look forward to visiting every year to see the fruit trees grow over time. That said, there are a few areas for improvement: Regarding the room facilities: - It would be helpful if there were shelves in the closet space for storing luggage. Without them, I had no choice but to place my bag on the sofa or floor. - The toilet was cold; while this may have been due to visiting during an extreme cold wave, the stone flooring made it feel quite chilly. - Tissue paper was hard to locate and not having it in the washroom felt inconvenient. As this accommodation is newly established, I am excited about how it will continue evolving into an even more wonderful place in the future. I will definitely visit again—thank you so much!

January 2, 2025 masoho One Night Stay Modern facilities, clean, beautiful, breathtaking views, private space, high-quality service with plenty of smiles and clear explanations. Local Amakusa ingredients and tableware crafted by local Amakusa artists. The cuisine highlights the best of the ingredients' flavors.
