    The understated quality is truly charming.

    This was my third visit to Hotel Onkochishin, and once again, it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The overall atmosphere exudes quality through tasteful design rather than excessive luxury. This sense of refinement is evident not only in the interior and exterior but also in the cuisine and hospitality. The course meals and wine were all delightful. The main dishes—chicken, char fish, and beef—were served consecutively, paired with Japanese wines accompanied by detailed explanations, making for a highly satisfying dining experience. While there are many summer retreats to choose from, spending a relaxing time in Hakuba while enjoying views of the summer mountains was truly refreshing.

    New yet warm

    A new hotel located in the Echo Land area of Hakuba. Situated on a quiet street, it offers a peaceful stay even in the bustling downtown area. In midsummer, stepping out onto the balcony to admire the mountains brings a refreshing breeze. Many staff members have transferred from other accommodations, creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels like returning to a familiar place rather than staying at a hotel for the first time. The room features a spacious living and dining area with an additional table provided. Each piece of furniture is well-designed, stable, and comfortable. The Cado STEM 300 humidifier is especially useful during winter but also made the air-conditioned room comfortable even in dry conditions. There is ample storage space with three hanger racks, plenty of shelves, and sufficient drawers—perfect for storing heavy winter clothing or multiple outfit changes without any inconvenience. The living room includes a fully equipped kitchen with a large sink and IH heater with range hood, along with a 370L refrigerator and microwave oven. Various cutlery can be prepared upon request to suit your dining needs. The bathroom features both an expansive bathtub and excellent water pressure from the showerhead as well as rain shower options. The bathtub, shower corner, and sink are all integrated into one space—a design often seen in overseas hotels—which may take some getting used to for Japanese guests. It would be helpful if instructions for using devices like bathroom drying functions were provided for easier use. Adjacent to the bathroom is an incredibly convenient vertical drum-style washer-dryer equipped with hot air drying capabilities—a surprising addition given this room size. For both dinner and breakfast during our stay on-site at their first-floor dining area: Dinner included specialty courses while breakfast offered buffet options featuring locally sourced ingredients unique to Hakuba alongside freshly prepared à la carte dishes upon order—distinctly different yet delightful compared against recent Tokyo experiences! Seating arrangements varied beautifully; grapevine-decorated spots stood out particularly charmingly! From seasoned professionals down-to-younger team members alike—their hospitality shone brightly throughout making anticipation grow stronger awaiting next seasonal visits ahead here within such newly emerged small luxury accommodation amidst scenic Hakuba surroundings!

    A stay filled with heartfelt hospitality and breathtaking views

    I booked a two-meal Plan that included an almost unlimited wine experience during dinner. The moment I opened the Room door, the breathtaking view of the Northern Alps through the wide window amazed me! The spacious Room was very comfortable, and I had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly and natural, engaging in pleasant conversations with warm smiles. Their hospitality and thoughtfulness deeply impressed me. The wine concierge was highly knowledgeable, suggesting wines that perfectly matched each dish. Every recommendation was truly delicious, and I ended up drinking more than planned. I even purchased one of their recommended wines to enjoy at home later. From the email correspondence stage, their polite and kind responses made me look forward to my stay even before arriving. It was delightful to meet the lovely person who had been handling my emails in person as well! This is a Hotel I would love to revisit—to see all the wonderful staff again and savor their delicious cuisine paired with Japanese wine. I'm already thinking about when my next visit will be! It was an absolutely satisfying stay—thank you so much!

    Lavigne Banzai! Hakuba Banzai!

    I stayed here for a birthday celebration trip. The experience at this Hotel was truly special. From check-in to check-out, the staff's attentiveness was remarkable, making me feel as warm and comfortable as if I were at home. They responded promptly and pleasantly to even the smallest requests. The Hotel itself is very stylish, with a clear attention to detail in its interior design. It strikes a perfect balance between modernity and warmth, creating an incredibly cozy atmosphere. The entire building was impeccably clean, reflecting meticulous care in every corner. What surprised me most was the personality of the Hotel's chef. Not only was the food exceptional, but the chef’s charm made dining an enjoyable experience in itself. The warm hospitality elevated each meal into something truly special beyond just delicious cuisine. Overall, it was a place where I could completely relax. Every moment felt thoughtfully cared for, and I am genuinely glad to have stayed at this Hotel. I would love to stay here again!

    A Hotel I want to visit again!

    I stayed for one night. Although the trip was slightly disappointing due to changes in plans caused by the weather, this wonderful hotel made me forget all about it. The staff were courteous and kind, the meals were delicious, and I’m glad I chose to stay at this hotel. I would definitely like to visit again.

    The staff were friendly and courteous, making my stay very pleasant. The view of Mt. Karasumadake from the Room was stunning, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The meals were delicious, and I felt wine tasted great for the first time, thanks to the sommelier. It was quiet and relaxing, providing a truly satisfying experience.

    We would love to welcome you back during the autumn foliage season.

    The facilities are functional and stylishly designed, allowing us to spend our 2-night, 3-day stay comfortably and without inconvenience. The bath received one less star in evaluation due to the slightly small bathtub space, but as it is designed similarly to deluxe-class hotels overseas and not an Onsen, it was not an issue. For dinner, we enjoyed both French cuisine and teppanyaki. Both utilized local ingredients wonderfully; the French dish featuring Daiou Iwana (a type of trout) with its sauces was particularly impressive, as was the teppanyaki with its flavorful grilled vegetables alongside the expected high-quality beef. Breakfast offered a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes that were highly satisfying. Personally, I found the yogurt with honey, egg dishes, and baguette especially delicious. During our stay, we deeply appreciated the attentive and friendly care from all staff members—thank you very much! We look forward to visiting again during autumn foliage season!

    Hakuba in the Green Season

    Visited a popular Hotel in Hakuba during the green season for a refreshing getaway. Upon entering the parking area, staff warmly welcomed us, assisted with our luggage, and smoothly guided us to our Room after check-in. The spacious Room offered breathtaking views of the Northern Alps right in front of us. We enjoyed a relaxing moment on the terrace with coffee while taking in the stunning scenery. Dinner at the dining area was highly anticipated due to its extensive selection of Japanese wines. Each dish crafted by a chef trained in France was exquisite, and we savored them alongside wines recommended by their wine concierge. Breakfast featured a rich buffet showcasing local ingredients, making it hard to leave after just one night. It was an incredibly satisfying stay overall!

    Perfect for an adult girls' trip

    I stayed here during a trip with a friend. Initially, we considered reserving two single-use rooms, but upon consulting at check-in, we were informed that a two-bedroom junior suite was available. For an additional fee, we upgraded to the suite. This room was perfect! Each bedroom had its own bathroom and vanity area, allowing us to enjoy the comfort of single-use privacy while also sharing quality time together in the living room. It made for an incredibly comfortable stay. For dinner, we savored a French course meal featuring seasonal flavors paired with recommended wine from Shinshu. Thank you for providing such a meaningful experience!

    The staff's excellent service was the most memorable aspect. Additionally, the Room was spacious and clean. The breakfast had a mix of exceptionally delicious items and average ones, but overall it was satisfying.     A well-thought-out Hotel!

    I made a Reservation at this Hotel on a whim, but it turned out to be a wonderful Hotel that perfectly matched the atmosphere of Hakuba. Since there was availability on the day, my Room was upgraded to a spacious twin Room on the 5th floor. The simple yet luxurious design provided an understated elegance, and I could fully enjoy the Hakuba ambiance through the large windows and terrace with views of the ski jump platform right in front. The staff were kind and shared information about local shops and recommended sightseeing spots—thank you for your assistance! This Hotel offers everything you need while allowing you to immerse yourself in Hakuba's charm. I would definitely choose this Hotel again when staying in Hakuba!

    Hotel with a Great View

    A new and clean hotel. In Hakuba Village, snow still lingers on the mountains, and the view from the room was exceptional. It's a sight you should definitely see with your own eyes rather than just in photos. We dined at the hotel's restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Although I don't usually drink Japanese wine, I enjoyed trying their recommendations. It was very delicious, and I'm glad we chose a meal-inclusive plan. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that having an Onsen within the facility would have been nice; however, there are several Onsen facilities around the hotel, so it wasn't an issue. I've also heard that there are many activities to enjoy during warmer seasons, so next time I'd like to plan a multiple night stay to fully relax and enjoy my time here.

The contrast between the lingering white snow and the budding greenery was stunning. Days were spent actively on the slopes, while evenings offered quiet and luxurious moments—an ideal stay. The Room was stylish, comfortable, and offered picturesque views from the window. For dinner, we enjoyed French cuisine made with local seasonal ingredients paired with Shinshu wine. The staff's subtle attentiveness added to our comfort, allowing us to cherish our time together. This is a perfect destination for an adult retreat to escape daily life and be soothed by nature and fine dining.

    The New Hotel by Onkochishin

    Stayed as a family of three (couple and one child) for a ski trip in Hakuba. We travel frequently, staying at hotels and ryokans about 30 nights annually. This time, we stayed at this new hotel by Onkochishin for 3 nights. - Location: Conveniently located in the center of Hakuba with shuttle service available to nearby ski resorts. There’s a rental shop next door where we rented all our ski gear. - Room: The room is spacious with large windows offering an open feel. We had a south-facing view, and on sunny days, the snowy mountains were stunning. The design features natural wood tones with simplicity but felt slightly underwhelming considering the price point. Having a washing machine and kitchen in the room was very convenient for preparing before and after skiing. - Facility: The entrance is simple yet stylishly designed. There’s space to store ski equipment. - Service: Despite being newly opened, the staff seemed experienced and provided reassuring service. - Dining: Known for its excellent cuisine, we dined at the hotel restaurant for both breakfast and dinner during our stay. Dinner menus rotate every three days with different options daily. They offer an extensive selection of domestic wines chilled naturally using snow—a nice touch! The sommelier provided exceptional hospitality as well. Breakfast was buffet-style featuring high-quality dishes like freshly prepared egg dishes, chanchan-yaki (grilled salmon), pork shabu-shabu, among others made by chefs on-site. - Onsen/Bathroom: Only private bathrooms are available in rooms; while aesthetically pleasing, they are compact with clawfoot bathtubs but no separate washing area—this design felt inconvenient overall including poorly positioned showerheads. - Overall Satisfaction: Considering it was peak season around New Year’s in Hakuba where prices are understandably high—the excellent dining experience and attentive staff almost earned it 5 stars from us; however, facilities felt slightly lacking given the cost so we rated it 4 stars instead. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable stay at this lovely hotel—we’re glad we chose it!

    The Taste of Hakuba's Transitional Period

    I chose this place because there are no other condominium-style options in Hakuba. The most wonderful thing was the view from the Room; the rural snowy landscape from the new Hotel is something that can only be experienced now. From the Hotel in Niseko, you can only see Mount Yotei and the Hotel. The service seems to rely more on individual sense rather than being well-trained, but overall, I got a positive impression. Personally, I like to relax in the Room after skiing, and I think this Hotel is chosen by such guests, so I hope you consider making the kitchen more usable.
