    It was excellent.

    Overall, I was satisfied. However, the bed was a bit disappointing; it was small, and I could feel the springs on my back, making it uncomfortable to sleep. Also, the chair in the Room was not a sofa but a low-backed chair, which was not very suitable for relaxing while watching TV at night. The bath was wonderful! You can see trees through the window and feel the breeze, which is very pleasant. The staff's hospitality was excellent, making me want to come back.

    Stayed at the B&B to...

    Stayed at the B&B to visit the water garden. It was my first time seeing this type of garden, and the scenery was wonderful. I enjoyed a leisurely stroll, which was very pleasant. The breakfast featured fresh local vegetables and was sufficient for someone with a small appetite. It was nice to enjoy it while feeling connected to nature. One inconvenience I experienced was with the bathroom lighting switches; there were three switches in a row, and it wasn’t clear which one to press, so having labels would have been helpful. Additionally, after arriving at the parking lot after sunset, I couldn’t find where the reception area was located. There were others who seemed lost as well, but fortunately, one person looked it up online and I followed them to resolve the issue. Clear signage for reception in the parking lot would have made things easier to understand.

    Stayed at the B&B.

    This stay was at a B&B. We managed to arrive with the help of navigation, but note that there is a bridge with alternating traffic along the way. The building is sophisticated and exciting, though it is not barrier-free due to some steps. The room is simple yet thoughtfully arranged for ease of use. Upon entering, there is a sink, an induction stove (likely), and a refrigerator immediately available. The room itself has a standard layout, with the washbasin and bathroom located on the balcony side. Though slightly compact, the bathroom includes a proper washing area and provided great relaxation. Personally, I was delighted to watch ABEMA on TV during my stay. Breakfast was delicious; however, it had somewhat of a pre-prepared feel which might divide opinions—though I found it tasty overall. Within the accommodation are comfortable sofas for relaxation as well as amenities like a microwave and free drinks (available during specific hours). These thoughtful touches made this accommodation very cozy and pleasant to stay in!

    Multiple Night Stay

    Multiple Night Stay. Both the facility and staff provided a highly satisfying experience. I was particularly impressed with the meals; although I had heard they were French-based and was concerned about variety during a multiple night stay, the dishes were light, delicate, and thoughtfully presented. The young chef's creativity shone through in both plating and choice of tableware, leaving a great impression. I’m glad to have discovered such a wonderful facility in Nasu.

    The underwater scenery is stunning.

    I stayed at a B&B to see the underwater scenery. The room had a mini kitchen, dishes, glasses, and a deep bathtub with a window, creating a cozy atmosphere as if living there. The natural interior design was comfortable, and despite its size, the room was very pleasant. The breakfast basket was stylish. Since there were no warm items included, I used the kitchen in the room to heat up Nasu sausages purchased for dinner. As dinner was not provided, I stopped by a supermarket near the hotel and brought local specialties from Nasu Highlands such as delicious cheese, sausages, seasonal figs, and other ingredients unique to Nasu. The underwater scenery turned out to be even more appealing than I imagined. I visited after checking out. Although the sound of chainsaws trimming grass bothered me for about 10 minutes initially, it became quiet afterward with only the soothing sounds of water and reflections of trees on the surface. It was an enchanting garden where time seemed to stand still—a place I'd love to visit again.

    Enjoy a moment embraced by Nasu.

    A rare accommodation where you can enjoy the light and sounds of Nasu in the room and throughout the property, offering a sense of understated quality in both meals and service. Interestingly, just across the road is another accommodation that once offered a similar experience but no longer retains its charm. It was disappointing that the bath was not an Onsen, but considering maintenance costs, perhaps it's unreasonable to expect too much. I would definitely like to visit again when I want to be embraced by Nasu.

    Disappointing

    I stayed for one night at the B&B, looking forward to enjoying the water garden. While I liked the architectural design of the building, the furniture and other decor in the reception area did not match its style. The shared space in the back had a coffee pot, which felt somewhat out of place. The coordination of accent wallpaper, curtains, and carpet in my room felt outdated. The balcony facing the courtyard had cobwebs and accumulated trash in corners, lacking cleanliness, so I quickly returned to my room. Additionally, one of the bulbs in the bathroom bracket light was burnt out. The pond in the water garden I was anticipating had darkened algae and fell far short of any picturesque imagination like moonlight reflecting on its surface... I didn’t feel inclined to visit it again early in the morning. There is a significant gap between this beautiful building and how it is managed—truly disappointing. I hope these constructive comments can help align with your modern architecture better!

    Purpose of Visit: The Water Garden

    On the day of arrival at the water garden, although it wasn't raining, thick clouds covered the sky, creating a good but slightly lacking atmosphere. However, the next day brought clear weather, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful stroll through the beautifully maintained water garden. If I may add one suggestion, would it be even better if there were a spot to view the entire garden from a higher vantage point?

    I was very satisfied.

    The meals were already known to be delicious, but they have evolved even further and exceeded expectations. From appetizers to desserts, everything was outstanding, especially the clear and flavorful broth of shrimp and clams with absolutely no unpleasant odor. According to the staff, the skillful use of herbs might have contributed to this. It was a delightful surprise as I usually notice some smell in similar dishes elsewhere. The portion size was just right for me now, though it might feel a bit small for younger guests. While some reviews mentioned that breakfast was ordinary, I found the freshly harvested vegetables delicious. The vichyssoise had a nice kick of black pepper which I enjoyed. The scrambled eggs were my second favorite after a famous caviar egg dish from another restaurant—truly unique in flavor. The staff were very kind and pleasant, the Room was comfortable, and I had an enjoyable stay overall. It’s understandable but slightly disappointing that there is no Onsen available. However, I liked the amenities provided. As others have mentioned before, I also wished there were bathrobes available since relaxing in one after bathing is something I enjoy; perhaps I'll bring my own next time. Thanks to IKYU's discount offer, it was excellent value for money—I will definitely return!

    The staff provided thoughtful and attentive service. They noticed the drink I had in the car and kindly disposed of it, which I appreciated. Thanks to them, I was able to start the next day feeling refreshed! The food was delicate and absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed strolling through the garden and captured some lovely photos. The only downside was that bright light came in early in the morning, waking me up and leaving me slightly sleep-deprived. For those sensitive to light, an eye mask might be necessary. That’s the only area where I would deduct a point.

    Highly satisfied.

    The Room had a calming wooden scent. The bath was refreshing with fully openable windows, and I ended up using it four times. The dinner at the restaurant was very delicious, and the breakfast was hearty. The staff's hospitality was excellent. The water garden, with blue dragonflies flying around, was beautiful. Definitely coming back!

    Surrounded by greenery, we had a relaxing stay.

    It had been a while since my last trip to Nasu, but I was very satisfied with my stay at this wonderful accommodation. The restaurant lived up to its reputation, and for me, the highlights were the "Ayu," "Nasu Highland Beef," and the "bread." Not only was the food explanation excellent, but the staff's engaging conversations also made meal times enjoyable. The room provided a comfortable space where I could relax, and as for the bath, it used groundwater that felt gentle and offered a unique experience different from an Onsen. It was truly memorable. I look forward to visiting again in another season!

    Thank you for your hospitality. Everyone provided kind and attentive service, making the experience comfortable and relaxing. The dinner was absolutely wonderful, and I would love to enjoy it again. Regarding the accommodation, a bathrobe is essential, and a screen door for the bathroom would be appreciated. It might also be nice to have a more comfortable chair for watching TV. While these are just suggestions, improving the room's functionality could further enhance its appeal, especially since the dinner was so exceptional.

    The meals are incredibly delicious!

    As we drove into the property, a staff member walking along the path greeted us with a bow, which immediately raised our expectations! As expected, it was a wonderful Hotel with impeccable hospitality down to the smallest details. The dinner was so delicious that it left us in awe! The flavors were exceptional—especially the sauce made with ayu liver. It was so good that I thought this could easily become an impossible-to-book restaurant if opened in Tokyo. It's almost disappointing that I can only give 5 stars. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to make breakfast lighter and allocate more volume to dinner. As a woman, I found myself slightly full after breakfast; for men, perhaps adding more volume might be appreciated. That said, everything was so delicious that we ended up eating effortlessly! Regarding the Room: Here are my thoughts on some aspects of it—but overall, thanks to the outstanding hospitality and cuisine—it was an excellent stay! - There were too many decorative items (the stack of unreadable books as decor felt unnecessary). - The slippers were wonderfully fluffy. - Having exclusive views of the forest and hearing birdsong was amazing. - I struggled a bit with using the coffee machine effectively.

    It was well worth the journey.

    The staff were very kind, and their attentive service made our stay truly pleasant. We were fortunate to join a guided tour of the water garden, which provided us with extensive knowledge and left us highly satisfied. During our stay, we enjoyed a relaxing time surrounded by fresh greenery. The meals were exceptional, especially the dishes featuring local vegetables, which were prepared to highlight their unique qualities. We greatly appreciated the freshly baked bread that was thoughtfully provided. All our questions were answered politely, making our experience thoroughly enjoyable.     The beauty of the water garden and the deliciousness of the meals were impeccable. However, considering the price of 80,000 yen per person, I felt that the level of service and hospitality did not match. The reasons are as follows: - The bed was single-sized and cramped - It was not an onsen - Used glasses were not cleared or replaced with new ones during bed-making - It took two hours to serve a five-course meal, with waiting times being too long - A mix-up occurred where jackets were taken to another guest room by mistake - Despite accepting children, there were no provisions such as baby guards, cribs, or high chairs These issues might not have been particularly bothersome if the price had been reasonable. However, at a property charging 80,000 yen per person, such basic services should be provided as a matter of course. In hotels or ryokans in this price range where I have stayed before, I never had an unpleasant experience; thus these minor "failures" stood out even more. I would recommend that staff members stay at properties in Hakone within this price range for training purposes to relearn their service standards. At least for me personally, I will not be staying at this hotel again.

    Wonderful snow scenery

    The meals and the Room were both wonderful. We thought it might be unfortunate if it snowed on the water garden, but instead, it created a great atmosphere, allowing us to feel the wonderful nature, and the whole family was satisfied. Next time, we would like to walk amidst the fresh greenery.

    The Charm of Japanese-French Cuisine

    We stayed here for a family trip at the beginning of the year. The photogenic water garden, spacious villa, and well-equipped amenities were all wonderful. I especially appreciated the short boots prepared for walking around the water garden and the availability of skincare products, including lip balm. If I may express a preference, I would have liked the bed to be a bit softer and a reclining chair in the living room for more comfort. The bath using natural water was pleasant, and I enjoyed it multiple times during our stay. The most impressive part was definitely the dinner. The meals, made with fresh fish, meat, and vegetables, were all truly delicious, and it was refreshing to see Japanese ingredients and techniques, such as dashi and mitsuba, skillfully incorporated. The bread, including campagne and brioche, was also very tasty, and the hot dishes were served piping hot, showing attention to temperature. I ordered the tea pairing, which complemented the meal perfectly. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making our stay wonderful. Thank you very much.

    It was a property that makes you want to visit again!

    I was considering the neighboring B&B for its water garden, but decided to "give it a try" with moderate expectations. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the large terrace facing the forest, the semi-open-air bath with large windows (an outdoor bath outside the Room, which can be terrible in cold weather), and the solid wood floors with stone walls... The Room was much more wonderful than the photos. The restaurant menu, overseen by a young chef and supervisor, was also very satisfying. The freshly baked country bread and dessert pastries were freshly made, which was a first for me. I want to go back just to eat the freshly baked country bread again! And the enjoyment of visiting the water garden three times: in the evening, early morning, and before checkout. Playing tag with a family of ducks crossing the water while pecking at food never got boring. I was grateful for the shoes and flashlight provided for the water garden. The inclusion of DHC lip balm in the amenities was disappointing enough to deduct one star.

    It was a wonderful time.

    Since it was a stay involving an anniversary, there were things I wanted to request in advance, so I contacted you by email. From that point on, I received wonderful responses, and I was excited with anticipation for the stay. Even when I actually visited, that impression did not change, and I was able to spend my time without any stress during the stay. I have never stayed somewhere where I had no complaints about the staff to this extent. Usually, there might be at least one person who makes you think, "Hmm?" but there was none of that, and everyone provided responses that sometimes made me feel at ease and sometimes made me feel true hospitality. Especially at checkout, the gentleman who rushed to carry my luggage was elegant and beautiful in his manner of speaking and actions, making me feel that this was truly professional work. The room and the restaurant were both wonderful spaces, and I felt healed. As for the food, honestly, I think preferences may vary, but the campagne was really delicious. I had heard that the chef had a background in pastry, so I was looking forward to the final petits fours in that flow, but maybe my expectations were too high? However, overall, I really liked the taste. If I could make one request, since the room is generally a moody space, it was a bit dark and troublesome for makeup in the morning. It would be appreciated if you could place a light or a mirror with a light in the powder room. There are also interesting facilities like the "Mizuniwa," making it one of the Stays I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    The breakfast was disappointing.

    The review was good and it was newly opened, so I stayed at the B&B. The response when I arrived late and got lost was very polite and good. On the other hand, the property itself seems to have just been renovated, and the facility is only slightly better than a business hotel, so considering the location, I think it may not be worth the price. The most disappointing thing was the breakfast. I wasn't expecting much from the breakfast itself, but on a day with a minimum temperature of about 10 degrees, they went out of their way to serve cold corn soup in a THERMOS, and all the other breakfasts were cold as well. I think there may be unavoidable aspects in terms of operation, but I think the impression would have been completely different if they had just used a microwave, etc. I hope it will be improved in the future.
