    A villa-style accommodation in the highlands. The meals are outstanding!

    I visited for the first time in August. The Room was spacious, and the balcony connected to the living area and the garden were wonderful. It was a garden where I could relax and spend some quiet, unhurried time. I was also looking forward to the “water garden.” Unfortunately it rained, but even so, the rain created a lovely atmosphere. Needless to say, the meals were delicious both visually and in taste. The freshly baked country bread was outstanding—the best I have ever had in my life. The breakfast bread was also excellent, and I was surprised by its quality. With both the scenery and cuisine offering an escape from everyday life, it was a truly wonderful Accommodation.

    Relaxing Time

    Last time we stayed in the B&B, but this time we used the cottage. The Room had a very calming atmosphere, and we were able to relax and take it easy while enjoying the drinks in the refrigerator. It was a shame that the bath had been changed so it can no longer be fully opened as a semi-open-air bath, but it was still very soothing. We had our meals in a separate building, and everything was delicious and satisfying. However, since we don’t drink alcohol, we would have appreciated some non-alcoholic options at a lower price point. Also, it would be helpful to have an instruction sheet showing where the light switches are located.

    Be amazed by the food.

    I stayed in the Suite Villa as a solo guest. The interior was even more beautifully designed than the photos I saw on IKYU—wonderful. The bath is designed so you can enjoy the view outside, so I warmed up with an evening soak, relaxed on the terrace, went back to my Room for a light nap… it was heaven. Above all, the dining was outstanding. Many dishes had summery aromas, and especially the lobster and meat—so delicious that I couldn’t help but smile the moment they touched my tongue. The staff were attentive while keeping a comfortable distance, so I could fully enjoy traveling alone without ever feeling lonely. It was pure happiness. I’m hoping I can visit one more time somehow, but it’s just too sad to hear you’ll be closing within this year.

    Always the best.

    The kindness of the staff, the comfort of the Room, and the truly delicious cuisine—everything was as wonderful as always. It has been three years since reopening, and I was heartbroken to hear the sad news that it will close in November. I am truly disappointed and at a loss for words. It was a superb auberge. I will visit again before it closes.

    We look forward to receiving more high ratings for the Hotel in the future.

    At check-in, I was only given the key, with no explanation at all about how to use the in-room facilities. There were also no amenities such as a shower cap or bathrobe. Compared with other Hotels I have used via IKYU, and considering the price, I rated this stay poorly. This is my honest feedback, so please do not post it.

    Wonderful.

    The meals were excellent—creative and delicious. The wine was also very good. The service was attentive in many ways. The natural view from the Room was wonderful as well. Overall, everything was very good. If I had to mention something, it would be even better if the chairs in the Room were more comfortable. The coffee maker could also be improved.

    I stayed here on a trip for my mother’s birthday.

    Everything was wonderful, and the dinner in particular was outstanding. I’ve been to many restaurants with my mother, but this was the dinner she enjoyed the most. It became a very special memory for us. We’re already saying, “Let’s come again next year!” Thank you very much.

    It was wonderful.

    We stayed at this B&B and found the lounge very convenient to use. Being able to adjust the air conditioning ourselves made our stay extremely comfortable. The water garden was also beautiful and relaxing.

    If you call it an auberge, then

    The Facility, amenities, guest room, and overall equipment were all of exceptionally high quality—an outstanding auberge. However, there was one issue I simply could not overlook, so I must give a strict evaluation regarding hospitality and service. At a time when more and more restaurants refuse entry to guests who smell of fabric softener or perfume, the staff member in charge of serving (serveuse) here was wearing perfume. Because this is an auberge that promotes cuisine as its main feature, it is truly disappointing that the scent of the staff member’s perfume ruined what should have been a wonderful meal. Since everything else was perfect on the physical side, this one point is especially regrettable. I sincerely hope this Review reaches the Facility management and leads to improved service in the future.

    Worthy of an auberge.

    The cuisine was worthy of an auberge, and the restaurant with a view of the water garden was wonderful. The Room also felt like a private villa, and we were able to relax. (At night, a raccoon dog even showed up on the terrace!) However, there are indeed insects. There were quite a few small ants in the bath, and there was also a spider in the toilet. Since it’s in the forest, it can’t really be helped, but I would have liked to have insect spray in the Room. I’d like to visit again.

    The meals are simply outstanding.

    As an auberge, it may be only natural that the restaurant is excellent, but it was truly unforgettable. Among the many Accommodations where we have dined, this was without a doubt one of the top three—an outstandingly delicious restaurant. The wine pairing was also superb; they served regional wines I would never have chosen myself, in perfect condition. Even the sake my daughter had was served in a RIEDEL glass. Breakfast was equally impressive—everything was surprisingly delicious. We chose this Accommodation because my daughter wanted to visit the water garden she had seen on TV. We visited twice: once on the afternoon of our arrival and again the next morning. It was thoughtful that ankle boots for visitors were provided. Despite being during Golden Week, it was a wonderfully quiet space, and we were able to feel truly refreshed.

    A Wonderful Auberge

    I stayed solo. The Suite Villa has a lovely interior, and sipping machine-brewed coffee on the terrace is truly relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I think it’s a good auberge that offers value for the price. For those planning to stay: - The bath is not an Onsen. If you want to bathe in the morning, it’s best to drain the water at night and refill it. - There are no curtains by the bedside, so sunlight comes in. Light sleepers may wake up, and those concerned about sun exposure may not like this. - Since it’s surrounded by nature, there will be insects. If you really dislike bugs, staying at a Resort Hotel might be better. - It wasn’t mentioned on the website, but they did provide toner, emulsion (moisturizer), and makeup remover. During my stay, I didn’t see any families with children. If you want adults to enjoy a calm holiday getaway, I’d recommend it.

    This was our second ...

    Overall comfortable

    Stayed at this Accommodation on Friday with the B&B plan. For someone visiting mainly for the Water Garden, it felt like very good value. The Room isn’t large, but it’s practical and easy to use. The tea bags and shampoo were also good quality. Breakfast was more than enough. It took about 10 minutes for the bathtub to fill halfway, but that can’t really be helped. In the lounge, in addition to coffee, you can enjoy café au lait, cocoa, and herbal tea. The staff were polite and calm in their service. (The following are points I would have liked to share directly if there had been a guest survey at the Accommodation.) If possible, I would have appreciated clearer explanations that better convey the Water Garden concept. Also, I strongly hope the audio guide can be recorded with a real human voice. Even if only during winter, it might be worth adding sheer lace curtains in Rooms where the neighboring villa is fully visible. I’d also recommend removing or replacing the lounge wall decorations with something else (such as sliced tree stumps or pressed flowers). The mysterious white objects scattered around on the courtyard ground as well…

    A cozy retreat to enjoy even in winter

    I stayed on a weekday at the end of January, and it even snowed at night and settled a little, so I was able to see the snow-covered water garden—something quite rare. This time as well, I fully enjoyed the highly creative French cuisine that made the most of seasonal and local ingredients, along with distinctive wines thoughtfully paired by the sommelier. The Room is a little separate, so it can be cold to walk there at night or early in the morning, but it was a comfortable space to stay in and I was able to relax and take my time.

    The water garden art...

    The water garden art in front of the Hotel was wonderful. The meals were delicate and very delicious. The Room was full of the warmth of wood and had a bath, so I could relax and enjoy it many times. On the morning of departure, a monkey appeared on the balcony and surprised me. Surrounded by nature, I was able to spend a relaxing time at the Hotel.

    New Year’s Eve

    We stayed here on the last day of 2025. We’ve stayed at all the top-tier places in Nasu, and this is definitely among the top three. The French cuisine was wonderfully imaginative and beautifully prepared; we could truly feel a story in the aroma, flavor, and depth of umami—it was outstanding. The Room also made us feel like we were staying in a private villa. The staff provided exceptionally pleasant service—honestly, it felt like a perfect 100/100. We’re glad we chose this Accommodation, and it’s an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again. If I could ask one thing, I’d love to see more pajama sizes available—and if there were bathrobes too, it would be absolutely perfect (lol). Thank you very much. We’ll be back again.

    A wonderful Hotel.

    A quiet and wonderful Hotel. The staff are not overly visible but provide excellent support, allowing you to relax at your own pace and unwind from the year's fatigue. The bath was slightly less impressive compared to other Facilities. The breakfast basket delivered to the Room was fresh and enjoyable.

    Nourishment for the Soul!

    As an early Christmas gift, I splurged on this accommodation! Since I was with my elderly mother, they kindly changed our room to a villa without steps and even served meals cut into smaller portions for her. The service was impeccable. The location was quiet, the room spacious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the private indoor bath. We also indulged in plenty of their renowned natural spring water! The water garden reflected the winter scenery beautifully with bare trees and the sky.

    The meals were absolutely perfect. The tea pairing complemented the dishes wonderfully, allowing us to enjoy the freshness of each bite. The bread served in the morning and evening was incredibly delicious. While auberges often set high expectations for dining, this accommodation villa also offered a truly delightful space. Relaxing amidst the scent of wood and fresh air was a blissful experience. Although the bath is not an Onsen, bringing your own relaxing bath additives or fragrances might enhance your comfort even further. It was a serene and peaceful stay.

    The Hotel staff and ...

    The Hotel staff and the shuttle service driver were all very pleasant, making my stay enjoyable. The breakfast basket was filling and delicious! However, the bathwater took a long time to fill up and became lukewarm, so I rated it 3 stars. Other than that, everything was perfect. Thank you very much!

    First Time in Nasu

    This was my first stay at the accommodation. The use of wood from the reception to the villa buildings created a warm and soothing atmosphere with its fragrance. The service provided by the staff was excellent, and their wine recommendations were spot on. What impressed me most was the dining experience. Every aspect—visual, olfactory, and taste—was truly remarkable. The balance between the presentation of dishes and their flavors was perfect, and though it may sound simple, everything tasted amazing. My spouse and I both agreed that the lobster dish was our No.1 favorite for dinner. One small point to mention is that being in a mountainous area, there were occasional unexpected visits from insects! For instance, when I reached into the hair dryer bag to grab it, a camel cricket jumped out—it gave me quite a surprise! If possible, having insect repellent available in the room would be appreciated for guests who are not fond of bugs. Despite this minor incident, it was an absolutely wonderful accommodation that left us inspired to work hard so we can visit again someday. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience!

    Luxury of Relaxing at the Accommodation

    I arrived a bit earlier than expected, but the staff kindly brought an umbrella to the parking lot for me. Such thoughtful gestures from the staff can be seen throughout the stay. This time, I brought a book with me to fully enjoy the auberge experience. I listened to music, read quietly, and indulged in luxurious solitude. It is truly an ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Many guests seemed to be enjoying their time alone as well, which was understandable. The full-course French dinner was not only beautifully presented but also delicious, paired perfectly with wine for a blissful evening. The dishes made with fresh local ingredients left me feeling refreshed inside and out. While it’s true that it’s not inexpensive, this is a place worth visiting at least once a year as a special treat for yourself. The adjacent water garden is also perfect for a morning stroll.

    The hospitality is exceptional, making for a very comfortable stay. The cuisine is outstanding as well. The lobster sauce this time was flawless with no unpleasant odor. While I won't go into detail, everything was absolutely delicious. Thank you very much. I will visit again!

    Accommodation I want to visit again

    The accommodation was perfect in every aspect, from the room to the food and the bath. The staff were friendly and warm-hearted. The balcony bathed in morning sunlight, the enchanting path to the restaurant at night with its soft lighting, meals that reflect the seasons and Nasu's charm, and dining while overlooking a water garden—all of it was exceptional. It was a truly relaxing experience. The bread and whipped butter served at night and in the morning were especially outstanding! One challenge we faced was that some signs or instructions were not written in familiar terms, so we ended up wandering back and forth between the parking lot and reception several times in the rain. Clearer signage pointing towards reception from the parking lot would be helpful. In other accommodations we've stayed at, staff often come out when cars enter parking areas even if they can't see them directly—such an arrangement would make things perfect right from stepping out of your car. Additionally, we found that room lighting was slightly dim for us middle-aged guests with presbyopia; reading instructions for things like coffee makers required taking photos on our phones to enlarge them. Larger print on such materials would be greatly appreciated. That said, these minor inconveniences became part of our travel memories—and thanks to your exceptional hospitality—we left completely satisfied! This is definitely an accommodation we'd love to visit again!

    The parking and fron...

    The parking and front desk locations are very difficult to find, especially when checking in at night. It is hard to figure out on the first visit. It would have been nice if the B.B facility had an Onsen facility.
