    It was excellent.

    I love traveling and have stayed in various places, all of which were wonderful. The food, the room, and the bath were all very satisfying, but above all, what stood out was everyone's hospitality. The General Manager, Head Chef, Butler, and Esthetician—everyone's care truly came through and made me feel so relaxed. My husband and I talked about when we should visit again on our way home. We look forward to visiting again soon!

    The best accommodation ever

    We stayed at Kohaku as a couple this time. From the moment we arrived, we were continuously impressed by the staff's impeccable hospitality and the luxurious room. Most of the furniture was from Cassina, giving it an upscale feel. Kohaku features two baths, and they kindly turned one of them into a cold bath for us. Enjoying drinks from the minibar while indulging in a perfect combination of hinoki bath → sauna → cold bath provided an extraordinary experience. However, there were some areas like semi-open-air baths or hallways where visibility from outside was possible depending on angles. It would be great if this could be addressed to ensure privacy. Meals were delivered directly to our room, adding to the sense of exclusivity. Of course, the quality of the food itself was excellent and very satisfying. It was such an amazing accommodation that we've already decided to plan a multiple night stay next time!

    The Ultimate Hospitality

    The Room was wonderful and very comfortable. The staff created a welcoming atmosphere, providing exceptional hospitality. The cuisine used the finest ingredients, offering both stunning presentation and exquisite taste. Coming from the "treasure trove of ingredients, Hokkaido," the chef's extra touch enhanced the flavors of the ingredients, making the dishes even more delightful. It was an unforgettable culinary experience. This was truly the best Hotel ever! I would love to visit again.

    Relax in your Room

    This was my first time staying here. I was surprised by the innovative and open design of the Room, with the bath located next to the living area. On sunny days, you can open the windows and enjoy it as an open-air bath. However, due to its openness, it might be challenging to use with people you're not very close to. Personally, I think having a partition in the bath would make it more comfortable. Having a sauna in the Room was a great feature. It was convenient that there was a dining area in the Room where we could eat without needing to move elsewhere. The meals were beautifully presented on carefully selected tableware and were delicious. Unfortunately, we got full towards the end and requested for our rice to be made into rice balls but this request seemed to have been forgotten, which was disappointing. The free drinks service was helpful; having tea available would have been even better. Being able to access the large public bath at the neighboring Ryokan was nice; however, providing outdoor sandals for this purpose would be appreciated. I look forward to staying again if given another opportunity!

    It exceeded my expectations!

    This stay exceeded all expectations, and I was truly satisfied from the bottom of my heart. From check-in to check-out, every service was attentive—an Accommodation truly worthy of five stars. The spacious Room, high-quality Onsen, and thoughtful yet natural hospitality were deeply soothing. In particular, soaking in the Onsen with a beer in hand, surrounded by candlelight while listening to records, felt like the ultimate luxury. If possible, having a wider selection of records would make it even more special—I'd love to enjoy classical music or jazz as well. On the way there, I didn’t realize there was a path that goes through the torii gate and got a little lost, but even that became a good memory. The cuisine was like art on every plate and absolutely delicious—I enjoyed it with all five senses. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again on a special occasion.

    It was a series of unforgettable moments!!

    From the moment the manager personally greeted us at Yufuin Station, it was a day filled with exceptional hospitality. The service consistently exceeded our expectations. Beyond the warm customer service, we were impressed by the beautifully arranged flowers, well-maintained greenery, luxurious furniture, top-notch audio equipment, sauna and bath facilities—every detail reflected unparalleled care and thoughtfulness. It felt as though not only every need but even unspoken desires were anticipated. The cleanliness of the Hotel was astonishingly meticulous; I couldn't help but wonder how such an environment is maintained so flawlessly. Experiencing this level of service made me realize how deeply gratitude can be felt when expectations are surpassed to such an extent—a feeling I hope to apply in my own work. After a tough year at work, this one-day stay left me feeling incredibly refreshed—it’s hard to believe it was just one day! I’m already looking forward to visiting again next year. My goal is to work hard for another year and return for a two-night stay next time—perhaps even trying out different Rooms each night! Although the manager mentioned that there might be some concerns about restroom locations, we didn’t find it bothersome at all. In fact, my only concern now is that no other Hotel may ever satisfy us after this experience (laughs). As for dinner, while there was one dish (raw fish) that tasted too salty for our preference as fans of lighter flavors, everything else left us deeply impressed. Breakfast featured delicately seasoned dishes with fragrant dashi broth that elevated our sense of happiness—it was visually stunning and brought smiles to both of our faces!

    The Ultimate Luxury

    This was our first time staying at an all-inclusive accommodation. There are five houses, and we stayed in the Amber house. The private room bath exceeded our expectations with a luxurious hinoki wood tub that comfortably fits two adults, a shallow semi-outdoor bath for reclining, and even a full-fledged sauna. For women, the amenities were indulgent as well, featuring brands like Bulgari and POLA. If I could make one request, it would be to include face masks! (laughs) We also opted for a spa treatment. A professional bed was set up in the room with dimmed lighting, aromatic oils, and soothing music for an extraordinary experience. This wasn’t just any trial massage—it was performed by a skilled professional. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep. As an aside: during casual conversation about getting blisters on my feet from shoes earlier that day, the butler later brought me band-aids along with extras—such thoughtful care truly touched me. Meals were served directly in our room at the dining table—creating the dreamlike feeling of having your own personal chef at home! Dishes made from fresh seasonal ingredients sourced locally from Oita were brought out one by one—including Seki Aji fish. Drinks were also included: beer, sake, shochu, wine (including sparkling), all available in multiple varieties to enjoy freely. The room’s refrigerator was stocked with drinks and even ice cream available anytime you wanted them—everything was perfectly arranged down to every detail. From start to finish—the butlers as well as management and staff provided impeccable service throughout our stay. Without giving away spoilers—a surprise gift upon departure added another special touch! It became an unforgettable anniversary celebration for us as a couple—we can’t wait to visit again!

    It was excellent.

    We stayed for two nights with our one-year-old. A few years ago, we had a wonderful experience staying at "Tsukikouju Kurokawa," so this time we decided to visit Yufuin as well. Having stayed at various accommodations before, this place is undoubtedly the best. The hospitality, room, and meals were all truly impressive. The meals, in particular, were exceptionally delicious—beyond what you would expect from a ryokan. On the first night, we enjoyed a relaxing kaiseki meal in our room, and on the second night, sushi served at the counter. Both were meticulously prepared and delightful for both the eyes and palate. We also deeply appreciated their thoughtful care for our child, which allowed our entire family to relax comfortably with peace of mind. This is a special accommodation that we will definitely visit again for another multiple-night stay!

    Top-rated Satisfaction

    First visit to Yufuin in a year! A town famous for attracting many travelers from both domestic and international locations. This time, we stayed here to relax and unwind while celebrating our wedding anniversary. The accommodation, limited to only five groups, offered beautifully presented dishes with Kyoto-style arrangements that impressed us with every bite. The room had thoughtful details throughout, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It’s an accommodation we’d love to visit again. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Dining: Private dining in your room offers the perfect setting for leisurely meals (staff will not enter during your meal). Dishes made with seasonal local ingredients are exceptional in both taste and presentation, complemented by an all-you-can-drink option. You can also bring your own wine for a small corkage fee—perfect for celebrating special occasions! Massage: Flexible treatment times with highly skilled therapists ensure an incredibly relaxing experience. Overall Review: Luxurious accommodations, exquisite dining, and outstanding service make this place truly exceptional. It turned our special day into an unforgettable one! Despite traveling from Tokyo, we can't wait to return to this one-of-a-kind destination again soon.

    We had a wonderful holiday.

    We arrived via the Yufuin Liner from Oita Airport. A private car with a two-person rear seat picked us up at the bus stop. We made a reservation for two days, hoping to relax as a couple. With the help of a butler, we were able to discuss various plans for our stay on the day of arrival. Thank you so much for accommodating our requests and taking great care of us. The bath was available anytime, and we were very satisfied with the meals. Since it was a two-day stay, they varied the meal styles, which was also wonderful. We look forward to visiting again in the future! Thank you!

    An accommodation that makes you want to say "I'm home."

    We stayed for one night as a family. After this, we visited accommodations in Fukuoka and Hokkaido, but the head chef's dishes here were so delicious that I kept recalling his face. The meticulous preparation of removing scum and the philosophy of taking that extra step to remove impurities were remarkable, which is probably why the flavors were so gentle and soothing to the body. When we were served miso soup with potatoes and onions, it reminded me of the miso soup my late father used to make for us, and our whole family was deeply moved. Although it was a short one-night stay, we could feel the warm camaraderie among all the staff members. It felt like a homestay experience—different from an ordinary accommodation in such a wonderful way—that made us want to come back again. To all the staff who took care of us during our stay, thank you very much for your hospitality. When we return next time, please let us say "I'm home."

    Everything, from the room, bath, service, to hospitality, was exceptional. The traditional Japanese atmosphere of Kurokawa Onsen Tsukikogi was memorable, but the modern ambiance of Yufuin Tsukikogi was equally remarkable. The private sauna in the room was also excellent.

    An Accommodation You'll Want to Visit Again

    I stayed with my daughter and her husband in Niai and Ruri. Both were spacious, beautiful, and very satisfying rooms. The bath with a view of Mount Yufu was a blissful experience. However, due to the season, I couldn't relax on the outdoor terrace, which was a bit disappointing. I would love to visit again during better weather. The staff provided calm and attentive service, allowing us to have a comfortable stay.

    It was the best staycation!

    A few years ago, I visited Gekkouju in Kurokawa and had an amazing experience, so I was thrilled to finally stay at the newly opened accommodation in Yufuin! The room's furnishings were exquisite, and the bath and sauna were absolutely fantastic. It's perfect for a relaxing getaway from reality. Regarding the service, I booked a "8 Promises Plan," which mentioned champagne flow service and French toast during breakfast. However, it turned out to be Japanese-style breakfast instead of Western-style without any prior notice or explanation, and neither of these services was provided. This might be due to incorrect information on IKYU.com’s listing, but I hesitated to bring it up myself as I was really looking forward to both offerings—this was very disappointing. Additionally, I planned to enjoy the sauna early in the morning but found that the outdoor breaker had tripped. Since staff were only available after 7 AM, we had to wait for it to heat up again after they fixed it—leaving insufficient time for us to fully enjoy it. That said, overall this is an excellent hotel! If given another opportunity, I'd love to stay here again!

    Japan's Ultimate Resort for True Relaxation

    Stayed at Niran with an all-inclusive plan. Despite the cold and rainy weather, the shuttle service with a rickshaw was provided without any issues. The bath was enormous, allowing us to relax while gazing up at Mount Yufu. I appreciated being able to use my husband's portion of the spa treatment as well. The meals featured exceptional ingredients such as horse mackerel, sea bream, and abalone. Having sushi prepared in our room was also a delightful experience. Both amenities and linens were of the highest quality, providing true relaxation for women like me. This is currently the best resort in Japan for me. If I may suggest, it would be great to have facilities that allow music other than LP records to enhance the dining experience further with background music.

    From the moment of arrival to departure, I was deeply impressed by the exceptional hospitality. The room and furniture were lovely, and the view of Mount Yufu was fantastic, making it an incredibly comfortable stay. The spacious bath, almost like a pool, had perfect temperature control! If I had to mention one thing, the sauna's temperature at foot level felt slightly low, but it might have been due to the extremely cold weather that day. Dinner was absolutely delicious—especially the sushi prepared in our room! Thank you so much to the head chef. Breakfast with champagne added a touch of luxury and lifted my spirits. This accommodation exudes elegance while also offering warmth from its staff—a place I would love to visit again.

    Because it's a wonderful accommodation...

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate a family member's birthday. Thank you for the surprise bed decorations. The room had a large bath right upon entering, and the furniture and amenities were lovely. As the birthday celebrant has food allergies, we appreciated the allergy-friendly meals provided, which were all delicious and made for an excellent dinner. However, during breakfast, while preparations and explanations were being made, some dishes became cold, including the omelet. Warm food is best enjoyed at its proper temperature, so it would be better if this could be improved in the future. Personally, I turned off the ventilation fan while sleeping but found it difficult to rest due to loud mechanical noises from appliances like a wine cellar or refrigerator in the room. Additionally, one of the services promised in our reserved plan was not provided. When I asked about it initially, I was told without confirmation that "the service has ended." Feeling doubtful about this response, I showed them my reservation screen with details of my plan and asked again; they then said they would check into it further. Right before checkout time, they admitted their mistake but mentioned that they could no longer provide that service due to timing constraints. As an apology gesture instead of providing what was promised under our plan agreement—something described as their specialty—was given; however unfortunately this item contained ingredients unsuitable/allergic for us despite prior communication regarding dietary restrictions earlier on arrival day itself! The male staff member assisting us seemed overwhelmed following earlier mistakes during dinner (e.g., incorrect drink orders). While he did express apologies outwardly—it felt insincere & rushed leaving lasting disappointment overall experience-wise here today sadly speaking candidly now reflecting back post-stay review writing momentarily presently onwards moving forward hopefully constructive feedback shared helps improve guest satisfaction levels going ahead positively proactively addressing concerns raised herein     It was new and clean.

    The Western-style design may depend on personal preference, but it could be a nice change in Yufuin, which is mostly Japanese-style. The cuisine is highly satisfying, and the sushi prepared by the sous chef in your Room is visually delightful. The spa treatments were also meticulous and very relaxing. While additional greenery for privacy might be appreciated, it seems to align with the open concept of the property. The staff were extremely courteous, allowing for a stress-free stay.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I stayed in the Niai Room. The view of Mount Yufu from the living room and bathroom was stunning, making it a wonderful room. I also enjoyed the large public bath at Baien, fully experiencing Mount Yufu. As many have mentioned, the furniture and amenities were lovely. The staff were all very kind, making my stay pleasant and comfortable. Since it was close to my daughter's birthday, I requested a birthday plate, but they went above and beyond by decorating the bed with towel swans. My daughter was delighted—thank you so much! However, I had assumed this was an all-inclusive accommodation, so I found it a bit odd that drinks during meals were all charged separately. It seemed we couldn't consume beverages in the room either—even soft drinks needed to be ordered? From what I'd read on previous guests' blogs, while there were expensive paid alcoholic options available before, there used to be free menu options as well—but those seem to have been discontinued now. I was also looking forward to morning champagne being served but was disappointed that it wasn't offered anymore. Other than that, it was a truly wonderful accommodation.     This was my second stay. My previous stay was for one night, which felt a bit short, so this time I stayed at Ruri for two nights. I was very satisfied with everything, but I would like to share a few suggestions that could make the experience even better. First, regarding check-in and check-out times: considering the high rates, allowing check-in at 2 PM and check-out at 12 PM would provide a more relaxed stay. From my experience, most luxury Ryokans and Hotels follow this practice. Next, about the room's dining area access: it is currently not possible to lock the door from inside when staff members enter or exit. Additionally, since their entry is only indicated by knocking on the door, it can be unclear. Switching to a chime or sound notification might improve this aspect. Overall, I am extremely satisfied and plan to use your services multiple times per year for Multiple Night Stays (2–3 times annually).

    I was treated unfairly by the private butler.

    I plan to file a complaint directly with New Japan Hotels, but when I requested dinner at 7 PM, the menu was placed upside down, unpleasant remarks were made, and I experienced various unkind behaviors. For breakfast drink orders, while my order was taken, it was completely ignored. The Shuttle Service staff, female staff members, and kitchen staff were excellent. Since this happened in a private setting, the butler may deny it; however, everything is true. It would be better to reconsider the dedicated butler system. It's disappointing.

    The last family trip was amazing.

    My eldest son is getting married soon, so we decided to visit Tsukikouju as a family of four for what might be our last trip together. It was simply wonderful. Thanks to the staff's thoughtfulness and service, we created amazing memories. Everything from the hospitality, meals, bath, to the sauna was satisfying. It felt as comfortable as being in my own home, and the butler's service added a sense of luxury, satisfaction, and affluence. Even though it was just one day, I felt like Cinderella. You can experience an extraordinary time here. I highly recommend staying at least once. I plan to save up money so that we can visit again. Thank you very much.

    We had a wonderful, relaxing, and enjoyable stay. From the reservation staff to the butlers, estheticians, head chef, chefs, service staff, and even the driver who saw us off—everyone took great care of us. We were also honored to receive a greeting from the manager. The details of our experience will remain private here because we believe each guest will receive personalized hospitality tailored just for them. It’s truly a delightful experience—please try it for yourself. If possible, we recommend a multiple night stay. While dinner in your room on the first night is exceptional on its own, we highly suggest spending an elegant evening at DINING ASAGI on your second night. Thank you very much!
