    Large Facility for Families

    The public bath was not an Onsen, but it was clean and comfortable. However, as it is a large Facility targeting family trips with small children, both dinner and breakfast were crowded, making it hard to relax. The souvenir for IKYU Diamond Members was a pleasant touch.

    The front desk service is...

    I had a great experience staying at a hotel in Nara before, so I decided to stay at this Hotel this time. When I entered the Hotel and went to the front desk, there was no greeting... When I said "Check-in," they asked for my name. Usually, I would expect a greeting like "Welcome." The Hotel was comfortable overall. It would be helpful if there were cotton swabs available in the bathroom.

    Excellent stability

    This is my second stay. The accommodation is reasonably priced, the breakfast is delicious, and I was very satisfied with the lounge access. I would love to stay again.

    As this is a rebrand...

    As this is a rebranded facility, the water facilities and similar areas may feel slightly dated but are well-maintained. I arrived during a busy time for the free-flow service, so I did not use the lounge. The meals offered were diverse and delicious. Since my departure was outside of the Shuttle Service hours, I considered calling a taxi but decided to walk to Higashi-Karatsu Station instead as it was along a flat path, which was not inconvenient at all.

    The room was scary.

    This time, I chose a No Meals Included plan as it was a last-minute decision to stay. The facility had old equipment, from the safe to the bathroom. Although it was the cheapest plan, the room was spacious and comfortable. However, there were no spare light bulbs or dimmers, so when turning off the lights at night, it became completely dark. It was so silent that I felt scared and couldn’t sleep until morning. Additionally, while a hairdryer was provided and combs were available among the amenities on the first floor, there were no brushes. I didn’t want my hair to get messy, so I couldn’t wash my hair. Perhaps because it’s a Japanese-style room or due to staff shortages, guests are required to set up their own sheets and futons. For 17,000 yen for two people with No Meals Included: an old room! No brush! Set up your own sheets! A Business Hotel might be cleaner and more comfortable in comparison.

    Delicious Meals

    Both breakfast and dinner are buffet-style, and while expectations were low, the variety and taste of the dishes were satisfying. The Hotel interior is old, with uneven hallways—why? There were many families, creating a cheerful atmosphere for children to enjoy their meals, and all the staff were kind. The pillows were high and hard, so I called the front desk, but they said there were no alternatives. They provided extra bath towels to use as a pillow instead.

    Last Memory of Summer Vacation

    We visited at the end of August. Three generations—my child, myself, and my mother—enjoyed our stay. The food was delicious, and the complimentary lounge access made it a truly memorable experience. The amazake after the bath was absolutely amazing!

    Summer Vacation for Couples

    In July, I visited Memu Kyuururu Munakata Resort Hotel and had a great experience, so this time I chose another hotel from the same group. I had high expectations because Munakata Resort was excellent. It was average. I won't be going again (laughs).

    Highly Satisfied

    The bath, sauna, and changing area were clean and pleasant. However, the cold plunge pool after the sauna was lukewarm and not refreshing. It would be perfect if the temperature of the cold plunge pool could be lowered. The meals were excellent, the guest rooms were comfortable, there was a welcome drink provided, and unlimited drinks during meals as well as in the lounge from 9 PM were outstanding. We kindly request an improvement to the cold plunge pool temperature.

    Great value for money!

    This was my first stay, and I truly felt refreshed. The staff's smiles, the lounge, the onsen, the breakfast, and the room all exceeded my expectations to the point where I wondered if there had been a mistake with the Accommodation Fee. I have already made a reservation for winter as well, so I look forward to staying again!

    About the Room's Smell

    The Room had a slight odor. It was not a pleasant scent, resembling cumin from curry powder or body odor. I would appreciate an aroma-based fragrance for deodorizing the Room.

    Good value for the price.

    For Father's Day celebration, we decided to stay somewhere, but with only 5 days left until Father's Day... most hotels were either fully booked or very expensive. Then, we happened to find an available room at Mercure Saga Karatsu. It was affordable and included meals, so despite low expectations, we made the reservation. While the building itself is not particularly new or pristine, the hospitality and service were excellent. I would love to stay at other Mercure accommodations in the future!

    Significantly improved since becoming a Mercure!

    I have stayed here several times before it became a Mercure, but this time the service was the best ever. The all-inclusive experience was fantastic! This time, we booked a total of 3 rooms with breakfast and dinner included for 12 family members, including four elementary school children. With a beach just a 5-minute walk away, we borrowed complimentary float rings and enjoyed swimming in the sea even before check-in (there are changing rooms and showers for washing feet). After checking in, the kids had fun at the festival event held in the lobby, followed by enjoying a sunset-view buffet dinner. The restaurant is located on the 9th floor and offers stunning views of Nijinomatsubara, Karatsu Castle, rivers, and the sea! Both breakfast and dinner buffets featured carefully prepared dishes that were visually appealing and delicious—highly satisfying meals. The highlights were especially the sashimi and Saga beef shabu-yaki at night as well as grilled turban shells in the morning. The kids particularly enjoyed making their own cotton candy. After breakfast, there was a watermelon-splitting event held in the lobby which kept all of them entertained throughout. Although both rooms and facilities are old, they are well-cleaned with a sense of cleanliness maintained. Thanks to being all-inclusive, adults could enjoy alcoholic beverages while those who don’t drink indulged in juices, ice cream, or snacks. We created wonderful summer vacation memories as a family. We definitely want to come back again next year!

    The buffet menu is excellent.

    I often stay at Mercure chain Hotels, and the dining menu is always diverse and delicious. I enjoyed a lot this time as well. The location from the Room was excellent. It would have been even better if there was an open-air bath.

    I fully enjoyed the scenic views of Karatsu!

    It was the perfect stay to fully enjoy the charm of Karatsu! I recently stayed here during my trip to Karatsu. The room was simple yet comfortable, allowing me to relax and unwind. While Karatsu is often associated with the sea, I initially thought a sea-view room would be ideal. However, the view from the river-side room I was assigned exceeded my expectations and left me in awe—a delightful surprise indeed. What impressed me most was the food. Alongside Karatsu's local specialties, there were various dishes available, all of which were absolutely delicious! **Breathtaking views, exquisite cuisine, and an exceptional lounge experience** Not only was the food incredible, but dining with a panoramic view from the restaurant made it even more special. The sight of the ocean and Karatsu Castle right before my eyes felt like pure luxury—an unparalleled setting for enjoying a meal. After dinner, I headed to the lounge. The terrace had a wonderful atmosphere; since it happened to be pleasantly cool that evening, I ended up staying until closing time without realizing it. Sipping on delicious drinks in such an elegant space truly helped ease any travel fatigue. This hotel offers an extraordinary experience where you can fully immerse yourself in both scenic beauty and gourmet delights unique to Karatsu. I look forward to staying here again!

    Wonderful Hotel

    We stayed as a family group (11 people) this time. Everyone was delighted with the Hotel's service and had a wonderful time. The welcome service upon arrival and the service at the lounge in the evening were exceptional. While other hotels also offer some services, the level of service here is extraordinary. Both times, we gathered together and enjoyed a great time. In the past, we used to quietly spend time in our Room, but this time both children and adults truly had an enjoyable experience. Thank you very much to the Hotel!

    I’m not usually a fa...

    I’m not usually a fan of large all-inclusive hotels because I often feel overwhelmed by the "Eat! Drink!" atmosphere. However, this time I went prepared. What surprised me upon entering the buffet area was the seating! Instead of just cramming in as many people as possible, there were sofas and various types of chairs that made it feel relaxing. The layout was spacious too. I could take my time exploring the menu and truly enjoy my meal. The view was great, and the staff were very attentive. Originally, I had booked a standard single room, but thanks to IKYU points, I was upgraded to a corner triple Room. That said, some areas showed signs of wear—like frayed or uneven carpets in the hallway—which gave an impression of age. It might be worth paying more attention to these details. As a shellfish lover, finding grilled turban shells on the breakfast menu made me really happy! The cotton candy at dinner was also fun to enjoy. Thank you for your hospitality!

    As an IKYU member, I was upgraded to a Room and was very satisfied. The Room was spacious and comfortable, but it would have been nice to have cosmetics among the amenities. The complimentary lounge access was appealing, but it was disappointing that there was no beer available.

    Satisfied with the cuisine.

    The interior, including the lobby and lounge, was beautifully designed and very clean. Although there weren’t many staff members, the self-service system ensured there were no delays. Above all, the meals were exceptionally satisfying. Everything was delicious, and even the desserts exceeded expectations. The value for money was outstanding.

    Comfortable Stay with Castle Views

    This is my second stay because I loved it last time. The bath is great, and the food is amazing. As expected from a French-affiliated Hotel, the croissants are incredibly delicious. There’s a wide variety of options, including unique Karatsu specialties—this time, the turban shell was outstanding. Karatsu is also a lovely town, so I’d love to stay at this Hotel again. Breakfast with a view of the castle is something you can only experience here, so I highly recommend it.

    Free drinks in the lounge are nice, but using paper cups instead of glasses is a bit disappointing. In the evening, candles on each table created a lovely atmosphere.

    First Stay

    I had visited other rebranded Mercure Hotels before, but this was my first stay here. I only had breakfast, but there were plenty of options, and the view from the 9th-floor restaurant was great. The food was delicious. The Onsen didn’t have an open-air bath, which was a bit disappointing, but I enjoyed relaxing in the spacious bathtub. The free drinks in the lounge were a nice touch, and I ended up going back for more after dinner. I would love to stay here again if I visit Karatsu in the future.

    Children will be delighted.

    Enjoy a relaxing time in the lounge with tea and sweets, and indulge in a wide variety of dishes for both dinner and breakfast. The menu includes international cuisine as well as local specialties, all of which were delicious. There are also plenty of kid-friendly options like donuts, potatoes, and udon noodles that kept the children excited throughout the stay. The Room on the top floor was clean, spacious, and offered a stunning ocean view. Waking up to the sound of waves in the morning made for an incredibly comfortable experience. Although it was disappointing that the frosted glass in the bath blocked any outside view, it was spacious, clean, and even my daughter with cleanliness concerns loved it. The availability of a water dispenser along with child-friendly mildly acidic body soap and shampoo was very helpful. After bathing, we enjoyed sweet sake at the relaxation lounge for a perfect end to our day. The staff provided polite and friendly service throughout our stay. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    The view from the dining area, staff service, and meal quality were all satisfying. Additionally, I enjoyed the Diamond benefits. It would be even better if there were an open-air bath in the large public bath area.

    It was a very satisfying day.

    I was planning to meet my two sons who live far away in Fukuoka, and I was looking for a property where the four of us could relax together as a family after a long time. [All-Inclusive] It was my first experience, but it was truly the best!!! A wonderful time spent with family, enjoying the scenery without any reservations... It was an amazing time. The limited-time grilled squid we had prepared for us was also very delicious. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious, and above all, I thought the hospitality of the staff was excellent. We stayed at the end of the year. Although this post is late, thank you for a wonderful day. I would definitely like to visit again.

    We stayed for one night with four relatives from the Kanto region. The staff's hospitality, the food, the Onsen, and the Room were all very good. We returned to Tokyo satisfied. We will visit again.

    The staff was good, but

    The staff, including the young ones, were very attentive. I stayed for a week with a Multiple Night Stay and only had meals at the Hotel buffet on two days, but I was surprised to find almost the same menu for both breakfast and dinner. It seems there is no consideration for Multiple Night Stays. Since I requested a buffet reservation upon arrival at the Hotel, I would have liked to be informed in advance that there would be no change in the menu. Furthermore, as others have pointed out, the sukiyaki is served by a system where the chef prepares it, and since there is only one chef, you end up waiting in line for more than 10 minutes, making it hard to enjoy the meal. If you make a reservation later, dinner costs 8,000 yen, which is not worth it. Since it's a free drink system, it might be a good option for those who drink a lot of alcohol.
