    Extremely, extremely, extremely satisfied!

    My first solo trip. I was a bit nervous, but I truly appreciate the warm support from your phone staff from the pre-Reservation stage. I was looking forward to the meals after reading the Reviews, and they were delicious with a great variety! I also really enjoyed the lounge! The location was easy to access, so I’ll definitely be back. It seems Furusato Nozei can make it a great deal, so I’d like to consider it. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    The breakfast and dinner buffets are unbeatable!

    We stayed for one night using an IKYU discount. We had reserved a mountain-side Japanese-style room, but they kindly upgraded us to an ocean-side room. After check-in, we enjoyed local Kochi sake in the first-floor lounge. The breakfast and dinner buffets had an amazing selection. The seared bonito tataki and shellfish salt ramen were great, and the Eggs Benedict at breakfast was delicious.

    Excellent value for money

    This was my third stay at Mercure Kochi Tosa R&S this year. On weekdays, the value for money is excellent. As usual, I checked in at 3:00 PM and enjoyed beer and sparkling wine in the lounge. After that, I went to my Room and then headed to the large public bath on the 1st floor. After a good sauna session, it was time for dinner. I ate until I was full while enjoying beer and wine. How many more times will I visit this year?

    Do not expect an all-inclusive experience.

    I stayed here because I was attracted by the “all-inclusive” concept, but it’s best not to expect too much from “all-inclusive.” Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and some snacks are only provided during the evening happy hour and the nightcap hour from 21:00 to 23:00. Personally, I was especially disappointed that beer wasn’t available during the nightcap hour. The Facility has been renovated and was comfortable, but I felt the sustainability-focused approach to amenities went a bit too far. At minimum, I would have liked plastic bags provided in the bathroom. Also, there is no complimentary mineral water in the Room during your stay, so I recommend bringing a reusable bottle.

    I’ve stayed here several times, and I still discover something new each time!

    Since staying here with our son and his wife two years ago, we’ve come to love the baths and the meals, and we now visit regularly as a couple. It may have been by chance, but the women’s bath—always on the right side as you face the entrance until now—was on the left for the first time. Feeling delighted, I was soaking in the open-air bath while gazing at the statue of Sakamoto Ryoma when I suddenly realized something! I noticed that it’s designed to resemble Katsurahama Beach—the gently sloping shoreline—and thought, “So this is the view of Katsurahama from the Pacific Ocean!” The open-air tub is like being in the Pacific… I was truly impressed by how relaxing and beautifully designed it is. When I told my husband right away—since he had always used that open-air bath on this side—he said, “What!? Really?” He hadn’t noticed at all… The food was reliably delicious as always, so we’ll be back again looking forward to enjoying the baths.

    Highly satisfied

    Unfortunately, due to the weather we couldn’t do the sightseeing we had planned, but we still had a great time at the Hotel. It was nice to be able to use the drinks, snacks, and water dispenser. The little soccer toy unexpectedly got our whole family excited. The bath was clean, spacious, and comfortable.\n\nThe meals were generally good, but at times it was too crowded to go and get food. For popular items, I’d like you to keep them in one place or split them into two stations so guests can spread out.\n\nKochi’s bonito is delicious, but what I had this time was just average and didn’t feel like “great Kochi bonito.” I was really looking forward to it, so it was disappointing that it wasn’t much different from what you can eat in Kansai—maybe it depends on the season?\n\nAlso, the water for boiling ramen seemed lukewarm; even when I boiled it longer than the suggested time, it still felt undercooked. Please improve the temperature.\n\nOther than that, no complaints. I’d be happy to stay again if I have another chance.

    Dinner Seating

    This was our second stay. The Room and the bath were both great. Unfortunately, dinner was a buffet, and when we arrived early we were second in line. After checking in, as we tried to sit at a table for two, a staff member told us we could not sit there and seated the guests who were behind us instead. It made us feel very uncomfortable and wonder why we had lined up.

    If you’re looking for an all-inclusive stay, it doesn’t have to be here.

    This was my second visit. Even though I made a Multiple Night Stay Reservation through this site, when I went out during the day on the second night and returned to my Room, the door wouldn’t open. The sense of despair was unbelievable… especially since I was soaked from typhoon-level wind and rain. On the first night, the buffet was overcrowded with group guests; on the second night, it was overcrowded with individual travelers. Kids were making a sticky mess around the cotton candy machine, and adults even broke a large sake bottle in the lounge. The floor staff gave off an atmosphere like they wanted to push guests out, and once there’s a time limit, it really kills any desire to relax… Although my Room was a corner Room, there was peeling on the ceiling sheet. Given that prices are set at a certain level under the Mercure name, if it’s all-inclusive, another place might have been a better choice. I’ve also heard from a friend who loves traveling that they stayed at another Mercure in a different prefecture and didn’t have a very good impression either. My child also said the staff’s service felt cold. The doorman was friendly and pleasant, so it likely depends on the person—but front desk and event reception are essentially the face of the Hotel, so their attitude may need reconsideration. This is harsh feedback, but since my visit last year was better, I’m writing this deliberately in hopes of improvement.

    A large Accommodatio...

    A large Accommodation where you can enjoy as much alcohol and food as you like. Elevator congestion during meal times is unavoidable, but the Facility is well equipped, such as checking dining-area crowd levels via LINE. The baths open from 6:00 a.m., and meals start from 7:00 a.m., so early risers should plan accordingly. Also, the souvenir shop is not open in the morning. As it’s a Hotel, it doesn’t offer Ryokan-level hospitality, but the staff are friendly, and for this price the all-you-can-eat-and-drink buffet is satisfying.

    Celebrating my mother’s birthday

    We stayed here last year as well. We mentioned that this visit was to celebrate my elderly mother’s birthday, and you kindly arranged an ocean-view Japanese-Western style Room close to the elevator. You also prepared a birthday celebration, which made my mother very happy. Both dinner and breakfast offered many delicious dishes, with a wide variety of drinks, and we were able to relax and enjoy our time. The staff were also very attentive, and we would love to stay again next year.

    We are very satisfied.

    On previous stays at other Mercure properties, it was so crowded that I couldn’t relax anywhere except the Room. The food was tasty, but the seating felt like a food court, so I couldn’t enjoy meals at a leisurely pace. Because of that, I booked this Hotel for sightseeing in Kochi with no expectations at all. Contrary to what I expected, although there were many guests, the experience was completely different. The lounge, baths, and dining were all relaxing, and I was very satisfied. Both breakfast and dinner buffets offered plenty of delicious local specialties—so much that I ended up overeating. There’s also the fun of making your own anpan and parfaits. The two-person tables are cleverly arranged by the windows, so even without much space you can dine comfortably and calmly. In the open-air bath there was also Sakamoto Ryoma, which added a charming atmosphere. The lounge had several kinds of local sake as well, making it possible to compare different varieties. The building may not be new, but it felt impeccably clean. The Room was spacious enough, and the ocean view was outstanding. All of the staff were wonderful as well—everyone had a thoughtful word or gesture for guests. Since we’re from the Kanto area it isn’t an easy place to visit casually, but Kochi has many sightseeing spots where you can fully enjoy nature. I would definitely like to stay here again and explore Kochi Prefecture more thoroughly.

    Mercure is the best!

    This was my fourth stay at Mercure, and every location has been excellent! In Kochi, the snacks were great and the meals were delicious. They kindly changed our Room from the mountain side to the ocean side. However, perhaps because the restaurant was crowded, we were seated three in a row, which made it hard to talk. I asked if we could change seats, but they refused rather curtly. Other than that, the front desk staff were kind and I was very satisfied overall. I’m looking forward to Kashihara next!

    The card games were great. The tuna was also delicious.

    Before I fully become an old lady, I’m enjoying Hotel life by going out for drives. The meals, the Onsen, and the views are the best way to stay young at heart, so we truly appreciate your hospitality. Thank you very much. All of your staff do an excellent job.

    My family of four stayed for one night in a Japanese-Western style Room. (I did not stay myself.) Two people slept in the Japanese-style room and said it was very hot, so they could not sleep during the night. It seemed they were unable to adjust the air-conditioning temperature. Also, meals were served buffet-style, but the seating area was on a different floor from where the food was set out, so it was inconvenient to go back and forth to get food. As there were elderly guests as well, I hope this can be taken into consideration. Overall, they said they were satisfied.

    We were able to relax very comfortably.

    We chose an all-inclusive Plan for our family of four, and the Tosa bonito was fresh and very delicious. The Onsen was relaxing, and there was also drink service in the lobby lounge, so we feel this is a Hotel we would like to recommend to friends.

    The breakfast offere...

    The breakfast offered a great variety and was absolutely delicious. The bath facilities were also excellent, and I was very satisfied to enjoy them at this price. What impressed me most was the welcome drink service: unlimited alcoholic beverages, tasty local snacks from Kochi, and plenty of delicious Millet biscuits. I would definitely like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    How is the cost performance?

    1. The restaurant's view was magnificent and very good. It was my first time experiencing both the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean and the sunset in one place. 2. In a twin room (for two guests), there was only one towel in the bathroom, even after bringing it to their attention—this is a first for me, including stays at business hotels or ryokans. 3. The lounge offered a wide selection of Tosa's famous sake, but beer and wine were only available during tea time (shouldn't they serve them at night too?). At night, it turned into a sake and cocktail bar with only dry snacks as accompaniments (not even one appetizer dish), despite being promoted as having lounge access—a first-time experience for me and perhaps counterproductive. 4. The breakfast buffet ingredients felt somewhat cheap to me personally. For this price range, I would have expected more variety in smoked salmon, bacon, salad vegetables, or fruits. However, there were an impressive number of different types of sweet bean paste buns—a unique experience indeed! 5. The dinner buffet plan included unlimited drinks by default, so I didn't go—it might not appeal to either drinkers or non-drinkers alike. I don't think I'll be coming back again...

    Would love to visit again!

    We stayed as three generations: my parents, my sisters, and my daughter. Since we were a large group, we decided to reserve a spacious room—and it was the perfect choice! We felt so happy being able to see both the sunset and sunrise from the balcony. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge with drinks and unwinding in the onsen. The meals were delicious, and there were still so many dishes we wanted to try! We would love to visit again!

    It exceeded expectations for the price.

    The all-inclusive experience was excellent, and the staff were friendly. Staying at that price on New Year's Day was truly a great deal. The welcome drinks included hot sake, Japanese sake, wine, soft drinks, snacks, and sweet red bean soup—everything was perfect. The bath facilities were also wonderful. One minor concern was the dinner system; it seemed a bit complicated for older guests, and some appeared frustrated. While this might not usually be an issue since most guests seem to be younger, it did cause some tension. A senior staff member managing the situation seemed less approachable and may have unintentionally escalated the frustration. However, other staff members were very pleasant and could have handled it better in my opinion.

    Great Hotel!

    This was my second stay following last year, and I had another great experience! The meals were delicious. I stayed in a mountain-side Room, so there was no ocean view, which was a bit disappointing, but the Room itself was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. However, is the massage service on break? Or has it been discontinued? I was looking forward to it, so that was unfortunate.

    Family Trip

    For this trip, we decided to enjoy delicious bonito and stayed at the Mercure Kochi Tosa Resort & Spa, a place we had wanted to visit for some time. Upon check-in, during the staff's courteous explanation, we were informed that due to certain circumstances of the Hotel the following day, they kindly upgraded us to a suite room. The room was incredibly comfortable, and we enjoyed a relaxing 22-hour stay. The view of the Pacific Ocean from the balcony was stunning, especially the sunset sinking into the horizon—it was truly exceptional. Inside the facility, I used a wheelchair and received kind and attentive service from all staff members from check-in to check-out. In particular, one staff member who assisted with room amenities showed such thoughtful care and polite language that it warmed my heart. The meals were abundant with delicious options; both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying. Additionally, soaking in the pleasant Onsen helped relieve daily fatigue. We would love to visit again when traveling to Kochi next time. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    The staff were frien...

    The staff were friendly and provided excellent service during check-in, and the gentleman at the bar was very attentive. The view of the sea from the Room was beautiful, especially during sunset. Despite being a weekday, there were many guests, creating a lively atmosphere. Dinner had no time restrictions, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. I also appreciated that Snow Skin Cleansing was available in the large public bath.

    Recommended for those who enjoy alcohol.

    I stayed for a weekend, one night and two days. I chose this all-inclusive Hotel because I enjoy such accommodations. The fact that alcohol is available at all times is outstanding. Many reviews mentioned the crowded dining area, so I was somewhat prepared, but it was indeed very crowded. Moving from where the food is served to the seating area felt quite hectic. It seems efforts like providing carts have been made to improve this, but it was still challenging. While being able to reserve entry via mobile phone is convenient, when my turn finally came and I thought I could relax with some food and drinks, it was already close to closing time—very disappointing. Perhaps offering course meals with free drinks in a separate venue or implementing other measures might be better. Additionally, I was surprised that my elementary school-aged child was charged the same rate as an adult. Children don’t eat as much food and obviously don’t drink alcohol either; there were no special services or activities for kids provided either. If this charge was a mistake, I would like a refund; if not, paying the same amount as an adult feels unfair. Overall, this Hotel seems ideal for those who enjoy drinking alcohol frequently during their stay.

    Relaxing with Father and Daughter

    There was a great variety of welcome drinks, and they were excellent. The sake, in particular, was delicious. For the bath usage, it was inconvenient to have to bring towels from the Room. The check-in process took too long per person. It would be appreciated if it could be more efficient, considering the tiredness of guests checking in after a day of activities.

    Family Trip

    We visited Kochi for a family trip because my father wanted to eat bonito. After much consideration, we decided on this ocean-view accommodation. We reserved two rooms, one for my father and one for the rest of our family. The view from the window (especially during sunrise) was breathtaking, and the large windows were wonderful. Although it was late November, the weather was great, and the room felt warm. We borrowed a circulator and slept with the window slightly open. The food was average, as were the room and bath facilities; however, everything was spacious and well-maintained. The availability of alcohol at any time was a highlight for us. The staff were very pleasant to interact with, and we are grateful for their assistance when a small issue arose. This trip made us want to visit Kochi again!

    Stunning ocean view

    The ocean view from the Room is outstanding, allowing you to enjoy watching fishing boats and ferries while sipping on a beer. The staff are friendly, and the building and Rooms have been renovated, making them clean and comfortable. With the all-inclusive plan, you can enjoy beer after a bath or wine during dinner whenever you like. The dinner buffet offers an excellent variety and quality, especially the seafood such as bonito and sweet shrimp, which are delicious. The all-you-can-drink wine is also decent. The only downside was that during dinner, some inbound tourists (mainly from mainland China) caused a disturbance by standing up and being noisy, inconveniencing nearby Japanese guests.

    All-inclusive and relaxing.

    We stayed with 2 adults and 2 infants. The spacious and clean lobby had a very courteous receptionist. The bath was large, allowing us to relax comfortably. Meals were served in a buffet style with a wide variety of delicious options! There were several types of chairs for children, along with cute tableware, which was very thoughtful. As an accommodation for families with children, I think it deserves full marks!
