    Because one bath was...

    Because one bath was out of service, the remaining bath was used alternately by men and women, so bathing time was reduced by half and it was too crowded to relax. Also, I was bothered by noise from nearby Rooms (even though sounds like toilet flushing or water/drainage were not noticeable). In addition, during meals I often saw yukata sleeves touching the food when people were serving themselves.

    Great value for money and very satisfying!

    This was my first stay with Mercure. It was conveniently located about an hour from my home. This time, the men’s large public bath was under renovation, so we had to take turns using the women’s large public bath, which was inconvenient. Other than that, I was satisfied. I will stay again.

    I was very satisfied with my stay.

    During our stay, the Onsen was under construction, so it was disappointing that it had to be used alternately by men and women. Otherwise, we were satisfied with both the Room and the meals. The Hotel is well located for driving to Takayama, Shirakawa-go, and Eiheiji Temple. However, there is no downtown area near the Hotel, so it may not be suitable for those who want to go out on foot. We would like to stay again.

    Highly satisfying

    The Facility is a bit old, but it was clean and didn’t bother me. The buffet was very original, and even though I’ve been getting tired of buffets lately, I really enjoyed it! Great value for money and very satisfying. We stayed in a Japanese-style room, but the only thing that concerned me was that the futon mattress was thin and I could feel the floor underneath.

    Great value for money

    I stayed here for the first time on a Sunday with my 15-year-old Chihuahua and my pregnant daughter. Because it was a weekday rate, it was very affordable, so most guests were seniors. When we arrived after 3:00 p.m., there was a long line in the lobby. Payment is required in advance, but many older guests can’t use online payment, so cash payments took a long time and we waited about 20 minutes. I think the system of booking dinner and breakfast times at check-in is good, but if you arrive late, only late time slots are available, which could be inconvenient. Although the entire Facility is spacious and relaxing, the all-inclusive setup makes the lounge extremely crowded in the evening. The dining venue is also very large and not too busy early on, but around 6:00 p.m. it becomes packed. Since it’s an inexpensive weekday stay with many elderly guests, people sometimes stop in the aisles or suddenly turn around—understandable, but it can feel quite chaotic. The buffet setup itself was excellent, with modern machines and two drink stations—very thoughtfully arranged. As this used to be a Hotel-style property, there are more Western dishes overall, while the Japanese selection feels limited. The baths are spacious with 18 washing stations, so they don’t feel crowded. Inside the Accommodation there are only some children’s play equipment; otherwise there aren’t many notable Facilities. The night lounge didn’t have beer, but it wasn’t as crowded as in the evening. Pets basically stay inside the Room all the time here, which felt a bit sad for them. Other pet-friendly hotel chains offer dog runs and allow pets more freedom indoors, which seems more enjoyable for pets. Breakfast is comfortable early on but gradually becomes hectic as well. Like dinner, there’s a wide variety of items and overall satisfaction should be high; however, because they serve so many people at once، much of it is prepared in advance and mostly cold. It’s only slightly more expensive than one well-known chain yet offers far more food options by comparison، so I understand why it attracts so many guests. Since this Hotel has large capacity، I assume they sell weekdays at very attractive prices to maintain occupancy rates. Overall، because I booked an early deal and stayed at a very low price، I was highly satisfied.

    My Favorite Mercure

    This was my sixth stay at a Mercure hotel, and every one has been truly wonderful. The food is delicious—I always end up eating too much. The yellowtail chazuke was especially tasty! At Kashihara, the lounge used glassware, but everywhere else used paper cups. Disposable cups feel wasteful, though I suppose it can’t be helped considering the workload. I was only disappointed that the lounge popcorn and other snacks were slow to be refilled, but otherwise I was very satisfied. Next time will be Lake Biwa! Thank you very much!

    A Trip to Toyama with Your Dog

    My first trip to Toyama was all about food. Even though I was already full after enjoying sushi from lunchtime, the Hotel buffet was so delicious that I ended up eating three times my usual amount. There were many group guests that day, but the spacious interior meant it never felt crowded at all. And I’m truly glad I could travel with my dog. Pets are allowed inside only in a cart or carrier, but there was a fairly large crate in the Room, so my dog behaved well and waited calmly while I stepped out. Since Mercure has several Hotels with dog-friendly Plans, I’d love to try others as well.

    Girls’ Trip

    The Room and bed were spacious, and I was able to sleep well. The bath area and buffet venue were also large, so I could relax and had a very satisfying stay. I thought it would be nice if there were a clock in the buffet venue. There was a wide variety of dishes that made the most of the ingredients, and even though I planned to try just a little of each, I ended up completely full and very satisfied.

    A Hotel with Great Views

    The lounge was surprisingly noisy, and it was mostly international guests. It’s not the Hotel’s fault, so it can’t really be helped. The Room was spacious and had windows on both sides, which was great. I think we were probably upgraded. Breakfast was quiet after the overseas guests had left, and the selection was good; it was spacious and satisfying. My son was impressed that the large public bath had an open-air bath and felt very spacious. The staff were pleasant as well, and aside from the lounge, I think it’s a very good Hotel.

    This is my third stay here.

    Once again, we had a very comfortable stay. As always, we were pleased with the thorough cleaning and delicious meals. Thanks to the Reservation system for dining times, we could avoid crowding in the restaurant and enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. Also, the three elevators in the building are incredibly fast—completely stress-free and excellent. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

    80th Birthday Reunion

    Four university alumni stayed here. We came from Tokyo, Kanagawa, Hyogo, and Kyoto. They said it was a very good Hotel. In particular, the dining staff were kind, and they said they would like to visit again. Thank you!

    I had a pleasant stay.

    Stayed with a friend for two nights. It’s a large Hotel, and every Facility felt spacious, so we were able to relax and enjoy our time. Even though we didn’t request it, we were given a larger corner Room on the top floor. Since I had made the Reservation to match my friend’s birthday, it made us very happy. The view from the window was breathtaking—a lake (?) and mountain view! The Onsen was spacious both indoors and outdoors, and the changing area was also large and very clean. Being able to use Sekkisei skincare products in the changing area was another big plus. Since dinner was buffet-style, I honestly didn’t expect much, but there were plenty of local specialties from Toyama Prefecture, and it was fun choosing what to try. Best of all, it was all-inclusive—being able to enjoy drinks right after check-in on our stay day was amazing. My only regret is that I got too full to try the various fruit liqueurs (?) after dinner (lol). It’s a Hotel I’d love to stay at again if I have the chance. If I had to mention one downside, it would be that the toilet, bath/shower area, and sink are all in one space in the Room—but it wasn’t inconvenient for us.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    Arriving at 14:50 and checking in, they prepared a top-floor Junior Suite Japanese-Western Room for us. The male staff member at the check-in counter was kind and very pleasant. The other reception staff at the check-in counters were also pleasant. The Room was spacious and comfortable. I was surprised to find IKYU Diamond Member benefits, a message card from the manager, and fruit prepared in the refrigerator. The Onsen water was also excellent, and we were able to stay at Mercure at a great value via IKYU’s site, so our whole family is satisfied. This time our Room was upgraded, and we had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

    Birthday Celebration Trip

    We stayed here to celebrate our best friend’s birthday, with three couples (six people) in total. We arrived after 6:30 pm and checked out at 8:15 am, so we didn’t have much time to relax, but we were upgraded, and everyone was thrilled with the fruit in the Room and the souvenirs. They even said, “We’ll never get to stay in such a wonderful Room again,” and were truly grateful. Even though our stay was short, it was soothing in so many ways and became a trip we will always remember. Despite our tight schedule, we managed to enjoy the baths three times. And as always, Mercure’s food never disappoints—everything was delicious and we were very satisfied. We’ve stayed at various Mercure properties, but Mercure Tonami stood out as one of the best. Thank you very much.

    Excellent value for money

    Four of us stayed in a Japanese-style room on a weekday. The all-inclusive plan and buffet were very filling! If I had to nitpick, the yellowtail sashimi was a bit soft and the tempura wasn’t freshly fried, which was slightly disappointing. Everything else was delicious. Great value for money, great views, and great baths! We’d love to stay again.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    It was very crowded when I visited before, but this time I was able to enjoy the meals, lounge, and Onsen in a calm atmosphere and truly relax. This time I only had breakfast, but I enjoyed the Toyama and Hokuriku dishes, as well as some unique items like pho and guacamole. Everything was just as delicious as before. The cupcakes were so good that I’d love to see them sold as souvenirs. One request: it would be nice if the lounge snacks had a bit more variety. The staff were also very courteous, so I felt comfortable throughout my stay. Thank you very much.

    Because this is such a wonderful Facility, we kindly ask all guests to follow proper bath etiquette.

    Some overseas group guests were walking in the bathtub and doing large movements, so I was unable to relax in the bath. As this is a Resort Hotel, I understand that guests may feel more open and carefree, but I hope the public bath can remain a place for relaxation. As there may be many international guests during certain periods, could you please post multilingual etiquette notices with illustrations (e.g., no exercising in the bathtub) in prominent locations such as the changing room and inside the bathing area? I look forward to an environment where all guests can spend their time comfortably, worthy of your excellent facilities.

    If you enjoy alcohol, you may find it even more satisfying.

    Not only was the food in Toyama delicious, but I was also surprised by the wide selection of drinks. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Drying Room

    The buffet was disappointing overall, and the seasoning wasn’t good either. On top of that, we were told to finish eating within one hour. It felt rushed, and even though we had come to stay overnight, we couldn’t enjoy a relaxed meal. Then, while I was in the morning bath, a staff member came in and said it was only available until 10:00. It was my fault for not checking in advance, but I hurried to get out and started drying my hair in a rush—then I was told again that time was up and was made to leave. I understood the time limit, but I at least wanted to be allowed to finish drying my hair. I found it very disappointing due to the lack of consideration. On top of that, the price was very high. If it had been cheap, I might have accepted it—but unfortunately it wasn’t.

    Tulip Sightseeing

    I stayed here while looking for Accommodation in Tonami to see the Tonami tulips. From Tonami Station, the only option was a taxi, and it was farther than I expected. I thought a Shuttle Service from the Accommodation would have been very helpful. I am satisfied with the Hotel!

    We’re truly impressed by the wide range of services offered.

    Our family of four stayed at a Mercure Hotel for the first time. The lounge service of sparkling wine and beer was impressive, and there were not only snacks but also sweets, which made the kids very happy. The baths were spacious, and the open-air bath felt wonderfully open and relaxing. The buffet offered an incredible variety—dishes from many countries, a live burger kitchen, sashimi, and more—and everything was delicious, so we enjoyed it without getting bored. Of course, beer was all-you-can-drink at dinner as well. The Room felt a bit dated in places, but since we chose a corner Room, we could enjoy Tonami’s peaceful scenery and a beautiful sunrise through windows on two sides. Overall, I was truly impressed by the outstanding value for money. Both in the lounge and at the buffet venue, everyone was smiling—it’s the kind of place that makes you happy too. To enjoy this Accommodation to the fullest, I think it’s important to arrive as early as possible with an empty stomach and make the most of all the services. It will likely be one of our options next time we travel to Toyama or Kanazawa as well. If you’re comfortable with a certain level of self-service, this is a Hotel I can confidently recommend.

    The Onsen was a bit disappointing.

    It was disappointing because the open-air bath is otherwise very well done. I only noticed because it was raining, but with that roof, the rain still comes in, and some guests went back to the indoor bath without getting in. I also felt the lighting was too dim. In the morning, however, it was an excellent bath.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay in six months, and my third visit overall. Thank you as always for offering delicious food and alcohol at very reasonable prices. From this stay, dinner was limited to 90 minutes and breakfast to 60 minutes, but the 60-minute breakfast slot was clearly too short—I didn’t feel like I had time to enjoy it.

    More comfortable than last time, with thoughtful touches throughout the property.

    Has it been two years since it became Mercure? We use this Hotel for family gatherings about twice a year, and each time something has changed—giving the impression of a Hotel that’s still evolving in a good way. They’ve made thoughtful improvements from the guest’s perspective, such as restaurant ticketing and a kids’ play area. This time we added the all-you-can-eat crab legs option, and everyone in our group was very satisfied. The restaurant staff were efficient and friendly, and we appreciated how they arranged tables so we could all sit together. The menu has improved as well, so we’ll continue to stay here with high expectations.

    Relax and unwind

    I stayed here with my elderly parents. We relaxed with tea in the lounge, and the bath area was spotless and very comfortable. I’d love to stay again if I have the chance.

    I’ll definitely stay here again.

    I just stayed here at the beginning of March, and I was able to relax and enjoy a leisurely stay again with my grandchild during spring break. It was a bit disappointing that the lounge was extremely crowded; although it can’t be helped, there were very long lines at the drink area.

    It was a wonderful holiday.

    We stayed one night with my parents and our 5th-grade child. My parents were happy because the Room was close to the elevator hall. The Room was always hot, which was a bit disappointing. Our child found a bottle pull tab under the bed. It could have been dangerous if a younger child had found it. The meals were very satisfying both dinner and breakfast. Since it was a weekend, there were many children and they were swimming in the bath. The parents didn’t say anything either... The waves made me feel unwell. I would like to see more hair dryers available.

    I will definitely stay here again.

    This was my second stay, following last summer. As before, they handled my bedding allergy needs thoroughly. While some chain Hotels clearly state that they do not provide any allergy accommodations at all, Mercure Toyama offered excellent support. The food included local Toyama specialties such as white shrimp and firefly squid. The other dishes were also delicious, so I was very satisfied overall, including the all-you-can-drink option.
