Perhaps because we stayed on a weekday when there were fewer guests, we were able to enjoy a calm and relaxing time. It was quiet and surrounded by the sounds of nature, and even our senior dog could play to their heart’s content. The meals also reflect a dedicated commitment to gastrotourism, showcasing great care and impressive skill. With only the essential services provided, we appreciated the kindness of being given space to relax freely.

    Everything was excellent!

We stayed for one night and two days! Everything was wonderful—the Room and the meals truly impressed us. We will definitely come again!

    We were extremely satisfied!

We stayed as a family in a glamping dome this time. The dome was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. You do need to step outside once, but next door there is also a Room with a kitchen, toilet, and bath. There were coffee beans there, and you can grind them yourself to make coffee. The tea also contained a natural sweetener made from an Asteraceae herb; just add hot water and it becomes pleasantly sweet and delicious. For dinner we chose the auberge dinner course, and everything was truly excellent—our children (a university student and a high school student) loved it too. They seared bonito over straw in the courtyard to add aroma before serving it as sashimi, and they also cooked Isumi rice (apparently pesticide-free) with corn in a pot (you can watch this outside as well). There were also game dishes such as goat sausage and wild boar. Everything was flavorful with no unpleasant smell. Because the location is close to the sea, all of the seafood tasted incredibly fresh. It’s completely different from supermarket quality—our meat-loving kids kept saying how delicious the fish and shellfish were. There is also an esthetic spa where you can relax, and from 4:00–5:00 pm they make roasted marshmallows in the courtyard that anyone can enjoy. After check-in, there are complimentary drinks near reception, including sake. The large public bath was clean and refreshing, with cold water and free ice cream available. There is a dog run so some guests bring their dogs; friendly dogs came up to us, which made our dog-loving family very happy. Younger children can also enjoy the pool. On the way to the Accommodation you can see rural scenery and forests—it felt like stepping into a world like “Totoro.” I may be repeating myself, but above all else the food was outstanding. The head chef has an impressive background yet was very friendly—with such a lovely smile too. Our family has been saying, “We want to stay again! Maybe next time we’ll try a villa.” Thank you so much to all of the staff for taking such great care of us!

    Glamping

Glamping was different from what I expected. The toilet and bath are in a separate building, so it was inconvenient in the rain. The public bath is also far away, so it would have been better if the weather had been clear.

Top-tier Accommodation for guests traveling with dogs

We stayed in the Dog Suite (open-air Onsen bath, private pool, and sauna) as a couple with one small dog. The black Onsen water, in-room facilities, and meals are among the best we’ve experienced at dog-friendly hotels in the same price range. We liked it so much that we made our next Reservation during our stay. Many of the staff seemed to be in training or still getting used to things, but their sincerity came through, and there was nothing unpleasant at all. At breakfast, the service from the male staff member was understated yet refined, and we were very satisfied with the quality of souvenirs he recommended, such as chili oil. We’re also very excited that an affiliated Hotel is set to open on Onjuku’s beachfront. Together with this property, it looks like it will become our go-to Accommodation going forward.

It was a truly delightful meal.

Both dinner and breakfast were extremely satisfying in every way—ingredients, preparation, and presentation. This was my second stay, and I will definitely return.

The location, the natural black hot spring, the meals, and the staff are all wonderful.

We stayed in a dome tent for glamping to celebrate our child’s birthday, and our whole family had a wonderful time. We’re already talking about coming back again together. Our son said that next time he’d like to stay about two more days.

The black hot spring water was wonderful!

The Reviews were so good that my expectations ended up being quite high, but everything was great except for the meals (in-room BBQ)! The black hot spring was wonderful (I also liked the thick, silky water), and since the Facility is new (opened in 2023), everything was very clean. This time we were traveling with a 2- and 3-year-old, so we chose the in-room BBQ Plan, but it felt quite cheap. As for taste, the paella had no flavor at all, and at this price range I found both the taste and quality of the BBQ very disappointing. It seems the restaurant meals are highly satisfying, so honestly I can’t recommend choosing the BBQ Plan—unless you’re traveling with children or specifically want to do an in-room BBQ, I recommend dining at the restaurant. Sorry for being harsh about the food, but the staff were courteous and attentive, and the Facility was clean. Overall, it felt less like an Accommodation for families with small children and more suited to guests with dogs or adults.

It might be the perfect place if you’re traveling with your dog.

The road to the Accommodation is narrow, so I was a bit worried, but there were no oncoming cars and it wasn’t an issue. Check-in at the front desk was quick and simple, and then I headed to my Room. The moment I walked in, I couldn’t help saying, “This is nice.” It’s a bright Room with a natural feel and lots of wood. The living area has several Yogibo loungers scattered around—great vibe. There’s even a wood-burning stove. Next time, I want to come in winter. The bathroom area also uses plenty of wood and is spacious and bright. There are two sinks, and the hair dryer is Dyson. Even if you judge it as a regular Accommodation (not just because dogs are allowed), it’s excellent. There was absolutely no animal smell. Outside is great too: the dog run has natural grass, and you can enjoy walks around the terrace area while taking in the satoyama countryside. There’s also a waterfall and a fire pit—really lovely. The food here looked so good that we had our dog stay in the Room and chose to eat at the restaurant. It was outstanding! First, as part of an event, they served straw-seared bonito at the fire pit. It came one piece at a time on small plates; I assumed it would be simple tataki, but each plate had an elaborate sauce that made it incredible. At that point I knew this chef was something special. After that came dish after dish focused on local ingredients and bringing out their flavors. The spiny lobster was delicious as expected, but even the potatoes, beans, and other produce were at a level you rarely encounter—even at Michelin-starred restaurants in Tokyo. The clay-pot cooked clam rice was amazing too. I’m impressed—truly. If possible, I’d love for them to offer an alcohol pairing menu. The baths were also great: unusual black water with a slightly silky feel, an open large public bathhouse area, plus a sauna. That said, bathing hours are quite restricted—especially in the morning; I wish they opened earlier. This time I practically had the open-air bath to myself so it worked out well (though it’s a bit small). Also, there were lots of tiny insects floating in the bath in my Room so I ended up not using it. Maybe it can’t be helped given the location—but I hope something can be done… I will definitely return. But before that, I’d like to visit Onjuku as well.

We stayed with our dog as three generations of family.

Time passed at a relaxing pace, and we truly enjoyed the delicious meals. The hot pot came with plenty of vegetables, which made us very happy. Both the in-Room bath and the bath in the main house were wonderful. If we had to mention one thing, we would have liked dessert, but we enjoyed ice cream after the bath instead.

We recommend dining at the restaurant.

The three of us had a very comfortable stay. Glamping with a BBQ is nice, but we especially recommend dining at the restaurant—the food was outstanding. Everything was delicious, and the seasonal vegetables in particular were excellent. We also enjoyed the black Onsen many times, both in our Room and in the large public bath. It was a little distracting to see utility poles and nearby houses from the Room bath, but it can’t really be helped. We also heard the spa treatments were very good. The access road is narrow and there’s no signboard, so please take care when heading there.

    Not only the meals, ...

Not only the meals, but also the hospitality of all the staff and the black Onsen that leaves your skin silky-smooth make this Accommodation—where you can stay with your dog—without a doubt our family’s favorite, and we are extremely satisfied. We will definitely come again.

The best accommodation—I’ll definitely stay again!

This was my first stay at an Accommodation where you can enjoy BBQ in your Room, and it was fantastic. The three of us stayed with our 4-year-old child, and being able to have dinner freely in the Room at whatever time we liked was the best. Unfortunately it rained and there were strong winds, but it wasn’t a problem at all. The appetizers, ajillo, paella, and main dish were all delicious. I was satisfied with everything—the Onsen quality, service, and Facility. I definitely want to stay again.

It was absolutely wonderful, with a true satoyama countryside feel.

A spacious, new, and stylish Room, and a wonderful Hotel filled with a satoyama countryside atmosphere. The meals had a story behind them, and we enjoyed them even more with the explanations provided. We decided on this trip at the last minute just one day before, and since it seemed a bit empty we were worried—but no, it was top-notch. The large public bath and the open-air bath were also fantastic. If I had to mention one downside, the free sherbet after the bath tasted strongly of the wrapper and wasn’t very good (though my family liked it). Also, the manual for the wood-burning stove was hard to understand—there wasn’t enough explanation and there were too many missing characters (but being able to use the wood-burning stove yourself was also lovely, like an attraction).

    Satisfied

We were worried about how things would go with the unfortunate snowy weather, but we ended up enjoying it much more than expected. Just as the Reviews said, the restaurant meals were a real highlight, and we appreciated the generous use of local ingredients. The staff were also very friendly, and the dog-friendly cafe they recommended was wonderful—we’d love to visit again. Since we stayed in a dome, having to step outside to use the toilet was a bit inconvenient in the snow, but we were grateful that the private indoor bath was an Onsen, so we didn’t need to go all the way to the main building.

    It was amazing!

We stayed in the 10m glamping dome as a couple, and we were thrilled by how spacious and luxurious it was. The Onsen was also clean, left our skin feeling moisturized, and we went in three times. Above all, we were extremely satisfied with the meals! Thanks to the staff’s thoughtful care, their detailed explanations of each dish, and how kindly they answered our questions, it was truly a wonderful time. Each dish was beautifully presented—it felt like an art museum you can eat at (in the best way). We also appreciated all the little touches on the property: roasted sweet potatoes, coffee ground from whole beans, welcome drinks, and even happi coats provided. The hospitality was outstanding. This is definitely one Accommodation we’d love to stay at again if we have the chance.

    Simply great hot springs.

The black hot spring water was amazing! Since the room had a private open-air bath, I didn’t use the large public bath, but I was very satisfied. I wondered if dinner might not be enough, but I ended up surprisingly full. If I had to mention one thing, I wish breakfast could be chosen between Japanese and Western options. Even so, I think I’ll come back again (lol).

Stay with Your Pet - Fully Satisfied

It was our first stay with our pet, and we had an amazing time! We’re so glad we chose this place. - The BBQ Plan offered fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. - The black Onsen water was smooth and felt wonderful. - The shampoo and conditioner were great, leaving hair soft without any roughness. - Relaxing in a chair under the starlit sky and moonlight after the tent sauna was truly special. - Enjoying coffee by the fire pit in the morning and evening was perfect (the coffee was also excellent). - With a dog run available, our beloved pet had a great time without getting bored. We’d love to come back again!

    The meals are disappointing.

Stayed in a dome tent (with barbecue). The environment was great, and the interior was very clean. The staff were very kind and helpful. However, the meals and large public bath were disappointing. The beef and lobster looked fine but lacked flavor, and the paella, which is warmed with soup, also had no taste. I felt that breakfast could be improved as well. The large public bath had limited washing areas, leading to wait times. There were only two sinks, so I had to go out into the cold without drying my hair properly. For the year-end price, it did not feel worth it.

    A Wonderful Dining Experience

Stayed at "kominka kome" for my wife's birthday. 【Room】 While there are some unavoidable inconveniences due to the renovation of the traditional house, there are enjoyable features like grinding coffee beans, doing our own löyly, and having a fireplace (which they kindly lit for us upon request). If I had to mention: - It would be great to have more bath towels (especially since the sauna was so good that we used it multiple times). - Considering it's a room that accommodates large groups, there could be more shower spaces. - A large TV or projector would be nice. The sauna gets quite hot, and using the pool as a cold bath was an incredible luxury (along with infinity chairs). The black hot spring water in the room was also fantastic. The magnetic hairdryer is amazing! 【Food】 The course meal maximized the charm of local ingredients and was one of the most impressive among all accommodations we've stayed at before. The dishes were not overly decorative but allowed us to gently savor nature's blessings—truly wonderful cuisine. The staff conveyed its value very thoughtfully; we even bought some cheese from the appetizer on our way home because it left such an impression! This is an accommodation we definitely want to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Slightly disappointing

The high reviews might have raised my expectations too much. It was nice that the onsen allowed dogs, but among accommodations in the same price range I've visited so far, this felt like the lowest level. The public bath was very small and plain compared to the number of rooms, and the semi-open-air bath in our room had an awkwardly shaped tub that was hard to use. The amenities were also disappointing with no appeal. As for the French cuisine at the restaurant, while it could be said that they highlighted the natural flavors of ingredients, everything except for the main dish (wild boar) felt like appetizers? The composition seemed entirely different from what is shown in photos on IKYU.com. The taste also felt monotonous as a curry (cumin?) flavor appeared three times across different dishes. The wine pricing was quite bold as well. There is a refrigerator in the room but it’s empty; you either order via room service (900 yen or 1000 yen for a medium bottle?) or rely on vending machines outside—two extreme options. While I appreciated points like the wooden-scented room and wood stove, everything else left me feeling uncomfortable in various ways.

For four generations, up to 7 people.

We visited with four generations, a total of seven people, ranging from 93 years old to 0 years old. The 93-year-old and 89-year-old great-grandfather and great-grandmother finished all the dishes at the restaurant. It must have been very delicious as they kept talking about it even after returning home. The black Onsen was a first for us, and it warmed our bodies thoroughly. It was wonderful.

    Second stay at the 7...

Second stay at the 7M Dog Dome. No issues with the Room, meals, bath, or service. However, there were two concerns regarding the dog run: - There was a large gap under the fence in the small/medium dog run area, and my Chihuahua managed to escape. - In our private dog run attached to the Room, there was a large piece of waste left behind by what seemed to be a previous guest's pet. Personally, being able to stay with my dog and enjoy a private area for campfires are major attractions for me. It’s slightly disappointing that there were negatives in these aspects this time. However, it’s not a deal-breaker at all—I’d love to visit again!

    Memorable Family Trip

I stayed at this accommodation with my elderly mother and myself dealing with an illness, hoping to create cherished family memories. The corner suite was very spacious, and the room bath was excellent. My daughter exclaimed with joy as soon as we entered the room. We also used the large public bath, but the room bath alone was more than satisfying in size. The black hot spring water made our skin feel smooth. It would have been even better if it were free-flowing from the source. For dinner, we enjoyed shabu-shabu on the terrace, which was very hearty. The assorted appetizers were also delicious. The marshmallow roasting event in the evening was a fun activity. Although it rained on our first day, we were able to relax and enjoy our lovely room, which made up for it. My elderly mother especially appreciated how much natural wood was used throughout the room and expressed her delight about it all. We created wonderful family memories together—thank you so much!

    Thank you for your patronage.

This was our first glamping experience, and we were able to stay with our dog, creating another wonderful family memory. It was unfortunate that we couldn't see the starry sky due to the rain. I lost my wireless earphones and couldn't find them even after checking my belongings at home, which is a bit disappointing. We were able to relax and unwind in the Room. Thank you very much!

    The best accommodation in Chiba.

This was our first visit with my wife. We have visited various accommodations in Chiba Prefecture, but none were quite satisfying, so we didn’t have high expectations. However, this place was truly wonderful! I’m glad to be a resident of Chiba Prefecture! The room design had a very luxurious feel, and the Onsen was very relaxing. We had breakfast at the restaurant, and it was absolutely amazing. The chef did an excellent job using local ingredients, which made us very satisfied. Next time, we’d love to try French cuisine for dinner at the restaurant as well. Although there isn’t much around the area, we were able to spend a comfortable and pleasant time here. The staff members were polite and gave off a warm and welcoming atmosphere—thank you so much! Just one suggestion: while I understand that you informed us about the step in the bathroom beforehand, it’s completely black inside making it hard to see the bottom clearly; unfortunately, my wife tripped on that step. It might be helpful if there’s a diagram or sign indicating where the step is near the entrance of the bath for better safety. Also, if checkout could be extended to 11:00 or 12:00 PM instead of earlier times, guests could enjoy their stay more leisurely. It would also be great if this could be included as part of IKYU Diamond benefits. We definitely want to visit again—thank you in advance!

    Glamping

The staff were kind and attentive. The meals were delicious, and the portions were so generous that we couldn't finish them. We appreciated the flexibility in extending meal times, which allowed us to enjoy a pleasant experience. We brought our dog along, but it would have been nice to have a bit more space for the dog to run around in private areas. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay at the accommodation. We look forward to visiting again!

BBQ is a great option for those who love glamping.

Highly rated and dog-friendly accommodation that I had been curious about for a while, so despite being a bit pricey, I decided to stay. The atmosphere of the facility was excellent. The facilities were also excellent. We stayed in the Dog Loft Suite (Japanese-Western style) with three people and were very satisfied. Amenities included slightly luxurious shampoo, booster, and conditioner, which was nice; however, the flyer from the shampoo manufacturer placed in the room mentioned two additional products for after bathing and drying hair. If those two items were also provided, satisfaction would likely increase further! Customer service was excellent; all staff members were very pleasant. Both the large public bath and the semi-open-air bath in our room had great water quality—very satisfying! The semi-open-air bath in our room had screens to prevent insects from entering, which was great (though small bugs did manage to get in). As for meals: while I preferred an auberge-style dining experience, dogs weren’t allowed at the restaurant so we reluctantly opted for "Premium BBQ" as our dog had to stay behind in the room. Recently many dog-friendly accommodations allow dogs at their restaurants; leaving them alone is often considered unacceptable by many guests. The "Premium BBQ" included abalone and game meat (Chinese muntjac) on top of regular BBQ items. While they said that the abalone came straight from a tank, it was only slightly larger than a turban shell—hardly premium? As for game meat—it was supposed to be lean and easy-to-eat but tasted like liver and received poor reviews from my family (this may come down to personal preference). Additionally, T-bone steak seemed imported—it was tough with little flavor—a disappointment. The turban shell paella wasn’t what we expected either; imagining Spanish-style paella but instead receiving broth poured over rice then grilled lightly resulted in bland flavors—not ideal. Lobster came as half per person but seemed like it had been out of water too long compared with fresh abalone served directly without wrapping—the lobster arrived wrapped tightly instead. On brighter notes: bagna cauda sauce dishes alongside grilled vegetables & cheese platters exceeded expectations! The outdoor BBQ area felt more like an enclosed veranda equipped w/screens keeping most bugs away—a thoughtful touch appreciated greatly! Having stayed frequently across similarly priced pet-welcoming hotels before where value matches cost consistently well enough overall impressions here fell short especially regarding meal experiences anticipated eagerly beforehand yet left disappointed ultimately hoping future changes might include allowing pets inside restaurants potentially prompting return visits someday soon perhaps?
