    Summer Family Vacation

    With our daughter starting junior high school next year, we decided to treat ourselves and stay here as a family.\nBecause we were traveling with a preschooler, we made a Reservation mainly for the private pool where we could relax away from the crowds—and it turned out to be the perfect choice. We used it twice as a family, at night and again in the morning, and the kids were thrilled. The amenities were excellent as well, including swim rings, toddler seat floats, sandals, and more, so it felt like a wonderful Facility that can be enjoyed comfortably even without bringing much of your own.\nAt breakfast, we were able to order luxurious BBQ items such as seafood and grilled meat directly at the table, which was incredibly helpful when dining with small children. All of the staff were consistently kind, and we enjoyed our meal in a pleasant atmosphere throughout.\nAs for the semi-open-air bath in the Giraffe building where we stayed: I had seen Reviews beforehand saying it could be visible from outside, so I was slightly cautious. However, with just a bit of consideration while using it, there was no real issue at all—and we thoroughly enjoyed an open and refreshing bath.\nWe have previously stayed at places like Hotel Kawakyu and Blanchett Nanki Shirahama in the Wakayama area, but this was the first time every member of our family—two adults, an elementary school child, and a preschooler—felt this completely satisfied. For us, it was our best stay ever. We would love to visit again in another season.

    60th Birthday Trip

    We stayed with our children and grandchildren to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. Not only was the Facility beautiful and wonderful, but all of the staff were kind and greeted us with warm smiles, which made our stay very pleasant. Thank you very much. However, our grandchildren got extremely excited and were quite noisy during meals, so if we made other guests uncomfortable, we sincerely apologize… To everyone who stayed on the same day—sorry! Our grandchildren seemed to have a great time as well, and our whole family was very satisfied with our stay… We’re sorry—and thank you again. It was a Hotel we’d want to visit again and again.

    Pool

    The meals and service were excellent, but the pool in front of the Room was also in front of the neighboring guest Rooms on both sides, so it felt awkward to use.

    The Room, meals, and Onsen were all excellent!

    I’ve stayed at many luxury Hotels, but this was by far the most wonderful Hotel I’ve ever experienced. From the moment we arrived at the Accommodation to the warm send-off when we left, everything was truly first-class hospitality, and we were deeply impressed. We stayed in the Dragon Wing, and our 3-year-old had an amazing time playing in the pool directly connected to our Room—even in midwinter. The flow from the pool to the Onsen was also excellent; it was perfect to get out of the pool and go straight into the Onsen. Dinner was outstanding—the Kumano beef sirloin steak was incredible!! The kaiseki meal had such generous portions that we were completely full, but absolutely satisfied. The half-buffet breakfast was also very filling, but the grilled seafood and meat were so delicious that I ended up eating enough for lunch too (lol). Grandpa and Grandma were delighted as well, and it became a wonderful family trip. We will definitely be back again. Thank you very much for everything.

    I want to stay here again.

    Perfect experience. The pool accessible directly from the Room was amazing, with areas suitable for children to play and deeper sections for swimming. I’d love to visit again during a warmer season. Despite it being a time when year-end ingredients are hard to obtain, the meals were satisfying. The local sake from Wakayama was also excellent. The smiles of all the staff were truly wonderful as well.

    Kansai's Number One All-Inclusive Accommodation

    I believe this is the number one all-inclusive accommodation in Kansai. In Kanto, the price would likely exceed 200,000 yen, but being able to stay here for just under 150,000 yen offers great value for money. In Kansai, Amanohashidate Rikyuu Hoshine might be the closest comparison, but considering that drinks like alcohol at the bar and beverages during dinner are included in the price here, I would recommend this place more. The projection mapping could use some improvement, but the message was incredibly well-received!

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    The crystal-clear sea stretches out right in front of you. With just the right number of guest rooms, the pool never felt crowded, making it very enjoyable. The front desk staff provided excellent service, and the Onsen was incredibly relaxing. While waiting for check-in, we enjoyed complimentary drinks at the bar. I was surprised by the selection of high-end alcohol available. I was initially worried about traveling after my father's surgery, but everything could be done within the Hotel itself. The variety of seafood at the breakfast buffet left us amazed. The Shuttle Service from the airport was convenient, and the driver was friendly, making even a short ride enjoyable. We will definitely return!

    It was great.

    The room with direct access to the pool was a great choice. Towels were available poolside and could be used freely, which was very convenient. The staff's service was extremely polite, and having an Onsen in the room as well as a large public bath was excellent. The breakfast buffet featuring lobster, abalone, and grilled meat was a delightful surprise and very satisfying. The all-you-can-drink option at the bar was fantastic, and being able to use the bar even after checkout added to the experience. Although there were many stink bugs around the pool, overall it was an amazing stay. The croissants we received at checkout were also delicious and made for a perfect ending to our visit. Thank you!

    Everything feels almost perfect.

    The check-in process was pleasant, with staff asking us to sit on the sofa while completing the procedures. The live music at the front desk created a nice atmosphere. It might have been better if there were lounge seating on the first floor similar to that on the second floor, as it could allow for serving welcome drinks. Not having any drinks upon arrival felt unusual for this price range. The shuttle service to the room using a cart was convenient. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi and bath required filling water manually, which I appreciated as someone who values cleanliness—it allowed me to see its condition clearly. However, offering assistance with filling the bathwater could enhance convenience since it was slightly challenging. As for dinner, despite some negative reviews from others, we found it enjoyable overall. While more cocktail options would have been nice, we were satisfied with the flavors of our meal. The sashimi selection felt limited considering proximity to the sea, but the meat dishes were excellent and satisfying. Adding more fruit-based desserts could elevate satisfaction further; coffee or tea at the end of dinner would also be a nice touch—though having access in a lounge compensates somewhat. The lounge offered unlimited drinks but had limited food options, which was slightly disappointing. Allowing guests to take mineral water or tea back with them would be appreciated. Breakfast left mixed impressions—it involved grilling items like meat, lobster, and abalone on-site on the first floor before bringing them upstairs ourselves—a bit inconvenient for early mornings. Staff did offer help by grilling lobsters during busy times; however, I wondered how they manage when it's crowded. While tasty overall (especially meats), preparing everything personally detracted from relaxation—perhaps pre-prepared breakfast dishes using these ingredients would improve satisfaction levels further?     The meals, Room, and service were all excellent. Just one suggestion for improvement: at the restaurant, small children from another group were noisy and excited. It would be great if groups with children and those without could be seated in separate areas or have different dining times.

    Points for Improvement

    Points for Improvement The overall atmosphere was pleasant, and the facility was clean and comfortable. However, considering the accommodation fee (approximately 200,000 yen), I felt that a little more effort could have made the stay even more satisfying. At dinner, we informed the restaurant in advance about an allergy to shrimp and had part of the menu adjusted. However, during service, shrimp-containing chawanmushi was mistakenly served to the person with the allergy. Fortunately, a companion noticed it before it was consumed, but this could have led to a serious incident and was very alarming. I strongly urge thorough measures for handling allergies. Additionally, at breakfast buffet where seafood seemed to be a main feature, I felt that instead of simply displaying raw ingredients as they were, preparing them properly in the kitchen before serving would enhance their taste significantly. For instance, abalone was presented with instructions that "it cannot be cut in the kitchen; please do it yourself," but as a high-end accommodation facility, adding thoughtful touches like this would be appreciated. While overall service was polite and attentive throughout our stay, I believe there is room for improvement in paying attention to each dish individually and providing meticulous care in every detail. Although my feedback may seem critical this time around, I found aspects such as ambiance and pool facilities very appealing. If improvements are made regarding food quality and service standards moving forward—I would gladly return again!

    A Hotel That Keeps Getting Better

    Points of Concern: 1. The large bath only has two options, an indoor bath and an open-air bath, with no great view. While a barrel sauna was installed by the pool, it would be nice to have one in the large bath as well. Also, cleaning seems to be done only once before check-in. 2. The open-air bath and jacuzzi in the Giraffe building are difficult to use. You have to step out from the shower room through a door to access the open-air bath, with the jacuzzi right next to it. It would be helpful if there were footwear on the balcony. Additionally, since there’s no view, having these indoors might solve issues like bugs or lack of privacy from outside visibility. 3. The lounge offers excellent alcohol selections but only dry snacks are available and they don’t seem to be replenished either. 4. The outdoor slippers caused abrasions on our feet; both my husband and I experienced this issue—please consider improving them. On a positive note: The food was delicious, and "the world’s best breakfast" was truly amazing! We enjoyed the pool as well as the newly installed barrel sauna by it. It was also great that dining rooms were improved into private spaces—this was a wonderful change! It feels like this Hotel is constantly trying new things and has potential for further improvement! Thank you for the croissant souvenirs—we’ll definitely visit again!

    Excellent!

    We stayed as a three-generation family. As a newly opened Hotel from last year, everything from the Room's ambiance to the appliances was exceptional. Having direct access to the pool from the Room's balcony was amazing! The food was delicious, and the staff were kind and attentive—truly an outstanding luxury Hotel. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    Minimum

    I have stayed at many hotels and ryokans, but I have never experienced such an unpleasant accommodation. Upon arrival, I was shown to my room, which had only one bath—a completely exposed open-air bath visible from the road outside. I found this unacceptable and requested a room change. However, I was told to use the public bath if I didn’t want to be seen from outside. After some discussion, I ended up paying an additional fee to switch to a room with a private bath that wasn’t visible from outside. Who would be satisfied staying in a room with such an exposed bath for over 100,000 yen per night? The meals were also disappointing. The dining area resembled a family restaurant in decor and served standard Japanese course meals that did not justify the price. Although they advertise as all-inclusive, the drink menu consisted of only average options. Even if it costs extra, they should offer more premium choices. The service wasn’t terrible but definitely not up to par for this price range. I feel misled by the photos and social media impressions. I will never return again.

    Good Facility, Room for Improvement in Management

    I booked a plan for families with children. During the phone reservation, the staff seemed to lack knowledge about accommodating guests with children, making the process quite cumbersome. Upon arrival, baby amenities and facilities (such as baby guards and diaper bins) were not prepared, and even adult supplies were missing for one person. The staff hurriedly prepared these after check-in. At the breakfast venue, while it was nice that grilled seafood was brought to our table, it wasn’t cut into easy-to-eat portions. We had to use regular dining knives and forks to remove abalone from its shell or peel lobster shells ourselves. By the time we finished this process, the food had cooled down significantly, which felt like a waste. If you are bringing food directly to guests’ tables, just a little extra effort in cutting it would greatly enhance satisfaction from a user perspective. The room itself and items provided for children such as toys and baby food were excellent and very satisfying. The staff was generally kind and attentive towards families with babies. However, considering this is a luxury accommodation: - There seems to be a lack of user-focused operations. - Staff appear unfamiliar with service standards expected at high-end accommodations (at least based on my experience staying at various luxury hotels). This was disappointing given that I expected more from an upscale accommodation in Wakayama aiming for a premium experience. While such issues might be acceptable at standard accommodations, they left me somewhat dissatisfied here due to higher expectations associated with its positioning as a luxury facility.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    The design is stylish and seems suitable for adult couples, but in reality, there were many guests with small children, making the restaurant lively. The toilet slippers were inconveniently placed due to the door structure, which was a disappointing design. There was a small kitchen, but I couldn't find any dishcloths and had to use a small towel from the sink. It would have been nice if paper towels were provided. There were some cleanliness issues such as pink stains around the sink drain and slight slipperiness at the bottom of the bathtub (perhaps due to Onsen water quality?). However, I cleaned up before checking out. It seems like there might be staff shortages here as well, which is understandable everywhere these days. The staff worked hard despite being few in number, and I appreciated their efforts while enjoying my stay. The abalone was delicious!

    Ideal for families.

    We visited as a birthday gift for my wife. It was just the two of us, but most other guests were families. The room was nice, but there were some disappointing points: I had high expectations, so this might be a strict review, but I believe it could become a great Resort Hotel with improvements. Although it's a Resort Hotel, you can only walk around in loungewear at the Onsen and pool areas, making it hard to relax. The breakfast included barbecue options, but the smoke clung to our clothes and was troublesome. At the bar, snacks like mini salami sticks, cheese crackers, dried fruits, and local souvenirs like "Kagerou" were served; while "Kagerou" was nice as a local touch, the overall quality felt more like that of a city hotel rather than a luxury Resort Hotel. Additionally, there were no staff present to replenish items promptly when they ran out—this was disappointing. However, the drink selection and variety were good. The most disappointing aspect was the dining experience. The standard kaiseki meal tasted good; however, since many families dined at the restaurant too—it felt more like being in a family restaurant than an upscale setting. At least semi-private rooms would have been appreciated for better ambiance. While plates used for serving dishes were elaborate and beautiful—they were placed on plastic trays which made even kaiseki feel cheapened in presentation. Moreover due perhaps due-to busyness—the explanation about appetizers came only after we finished eating them! Despite informing beforehand about celebrating my wife's birthday—there wasn’t any message plate nor congratulatory words offered whatsoever except merely projecting something onto screens unnoticed until halfway through playback... A simple heartfelt word-of-congratulations would've meant much more! Lastly regarding staff service—it seemed apparent they lacked training expected within high-end resorts: For instance upon arrival luggage handling ended without further explanations given regarding facilities such-as highlighting features unique-to-our-room (like its private Onsen bath). Such missed opportunities detract from guest experiences unnecessarily! That said checkout personnel provided courteous assistance yet overall team-wide improvement via enhanced training remains essential moving forward toward achieving true excellence befitting luxury standards aspired towards here

    Luxurious Time

    Both parents and children were very satisfied with the Hotel. Our 3rd and 5th-grade children were thrilled with the heated pool accessible directly from the Room and swam until just before we left. From fresh seafood in the morning to tender meat, everything was delicious, and the staff's hospitality was perfect, allowing us to have a wonderful time. We would love to stay again!

Breakfast is served on the second floor, which might be slightly inconvenient for some, but the staff prepares and serves it fresh. The breakfast presentation is quite luxurious, though the morning beef was a bit greasy. Dinner was enjoyable and satisfying. The stairs could pose a challenge for elderly guests. However, the interior design is well-thought-out and not just for show; even the bathroom facilities are commendable. The majority of guests were families during our stay. The dining area has a casual vibe that may not appeal to everyone but fits well with family-oriented settings. Considering the price point, heated pool access, and all-inclusive offerings, this place is highly suitable for family groups as mentioned earlier. The all-inclusive lounge was impressive with an extensive selection of drinks along with snacks like nuts and chocolates—definitely a highlight!

    I would love to visit again.

    I had a relaxing stay. The Onsen was very pleasant, and the room was quiet, spacious, and enjoyable. In the morning, I could savor abalone and spiny lobster or relax with a drink in the lounge while gazing at the sea. Everyone treated us warmly—thank you very much. I went jogging in the morning, and jogging by the sea was also refreshing. I hope to visit again next time, perhaps in summer.

    I was unsure where to go for my first trip with my girlfriend, but a friend recommended a good Hotel, so I made a Reservation! We went by car, and the parking lot is spacious! The staff's hospitality and service were excellent, and the view was amazing! Above all, the meals were so luxurious and incredibly delicious. There is also a bar in the annex, and we enjoyed a lot of drinks. The building seemed new, as it was very clean and beautiful. It was a Hotel that made both my girlfriend and me feel great. The sea is right in front, so we will visit again around summer!

    We had the best birthday celebration.

    I made a reservation to make my friend's 30th birthday celebration memorable. I chose this place because it has a heated pool and onsen, not too many guest rooms, and I learned that they can do projection mapping and cake presentations. I had a meeting with the hotel staff in advance and requested projection mapping after dinner. This past year has been eventful for her, and perhaps because she was able to relax for the first time in a while, she was moved to tears. Afterward, at the suggestion of the hotel staff, we decided to have a cake surprise at the bar, and in the lovely bar, we were served cake and champagne as part of the all-inclusive service. My friend, who loves alcohol, asked for a second bottle of champagne. Haha. We were able to spend two days feeling truly fulfilled, and my friend said it was an unforgettable birthday. I am only grateful to the hotel staff for their warm hospitality and wonderful suggestions. I couldn't find a hotel that could do so much, so I'm really glad I chose this hotel. I thought I would splurge again for someone's special day. I also thought a surprise proposal in such a place would be amazing.

    Enjoy the Onsen Pool Resort

    I had a wonderful Christmas Resort Hotel life. I only had a summer image of Shirahama until now, but I discovered a Resort Hotel with an Onsen pool while browsing on IKYU. I also found it on Instagram. I must go. I quickly made a Reservation on IKYU and prepared for the trip with excitement until the day. Upon arrival, the beautiful exterior raised my expectations to the max. At the front desk, they kindly answered my detailed questions, warming my heart. The Room was too wonderful. Onsen bath, Room bath, Onsen pool My heart was completely satisfied. Delicious dinner, tasty drinks at a lovely bar I was able to spend a fun Christmas day. I would naturally want to give an all 5-star rating, but I decided on a satisfied rating of 4, looking forward to using it again in a different season next time. Next, I would like to use it in the calm spring season and conquer all seasons.

    Another Hotel has been added to the list of places I want to revisit.

    We stayed at this Hotel for the first time as a couple. We booked a room in the Dragon building, which allows direct access to the pool from the terrace. The bedroom had two large beds and glass doors, but for some reason, we felt calm and slept soundly. When we asked the staff, they said they use Serta mattresses. The pillows were also comfortable, and we were very satisfied. At night, the pool was beautifully illuminated, creating a mystical and wonderful atmosphere. Of course, we didn't enter the pool, but we enjoyed a relaxing time as a couple, sitting on the terrace with a beer in hand. We were very satisfied with both the large public bath and the meals. We have added another Hotel to our list of places we want to revisit. Thank you to all the staff.

    The best hospitality! Definitely a Hotel you will repeat!

    This time, we used Five Spring Resort The Shirahama to celebrate our wedding anniversary as a couple, and the staff's thoughtfulness and hospitality from check-in to check-out were exceptional! The food, including abalone and Ise lobster, was incredibly delicious, and we enjoyed wine and sake with the all-inclusive package! The Onsen was also amazing! Seeing my wife so happy honestly brought tears to my eyes with emotion! Breakfast was also excellent! Thank you to all the staff at Five Spring Resort The Shirahama for your hospitality in every aspect! Next year, we will definitely stay again in the summer and winter with our children and grandchildren, so please take care of us then as well!!!!! Also, thank you to IKYU.com.

    Wedding Anniversary

    My favorite time of the year has arrived! Yes, I am a Christmas-loving person. I love this time of year when the whole city is covered in illuminations, Christmas songs are playing, and I can feel happy! However, this year, I want to enjoy the Christmas spirit slowly and fully, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and share such a premium trip with my wife. Coinciding with our 24th wedding anniversary, we carefully selected from many Hotels and chose this Hotel, "FIVE SPRING RESORT THE SHIRAHAMA." We splurged on a suite Room. In addition to the luxurious all-inclusive suite Plan, the words "Christmas Plan" caught my heart, and with high expectations, we checked in. As we entered the front desk, Christmas songs were playing, and staff in Santa costumes greeted us with smiles. We were even moved by the piano performance. As we headed to our Room, still in high spirits, we found a wreath hanging, making us feel like children again. Furthermore, a Christmas tree welcomed us, and our spirits soared to the highest! Conversations with my wife flowed. The excellence of the Room, cuisine, and Onsen goes without saying. It thoroughly healed the fatigue of the year. We promised each other to come again next year.
