    Thank you to the front desk staff.

    It was affordable and excellent. I came to climb Mt. Nasu, but although the weather was good, strong winds forced the ropeway to suspend operations, so I had to change my plans. When I told the front desk staff what I was hoping for, they gave me spot-on advice and helped me find a great alternative route. Thank you very much.

    Overall, I’m satisfied, but

    The air conditioning could not be adjusted individually in each Room, so it felt a bit humid and warm. The smoking area and vending machines were only on the 1st floor, which was slightly inconvenient; it might be more convenient if they were installed on every third floor if possible. However, this is a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

    Please be mindful not to overeat or drink too much.

    This was our second stay. We drank too much last time, and this time we ate and drank too much again. After enjoying the Onsen at night, my husband and I relaxed in the lounge. It reminded me how important it is to have time to do nothing and just zone out. I only had one complaint: there was nowhere in the Room to hang towels! Other than that, I had no complaints at all. At an Onsen Hotel we usually don’t use the bath in the Room, but this time the bathroom was so clean that I planned not to go to the large public bath in the morning because it felt like too much trouble—yet I ended up using the bathroom anyway. The shower head was large, and it was very comfortable. We would definitely like to stay again.

    All staff were pleasant, and I thought it was a good Hotel. The meals offered a wide variety, which was great, but about half of what I chose was delicious and the other half not so much.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    It was an exciting Hotel from the moment we checked in! The three of us—my husband, our 18-month-old son, and I—stayed here, and our son was thrilled with the indoor play area and the kids’ space on the 4th floor. The daytime lounge was great, but the evening lounge was even better—it’s a Hotel I genuinely want to visit again for the first time in a while! I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know! The breakfast buffet was also excellent! Thank you very much.

    Kids will love the Safari Room.

    The kids’ lounge on the 2nd floor (15:00–18:00) was a big hit—both the ice cream and snacks were a delight. We only spent a short time there as a family, but it was very relaxing. We also enjoyed unwinding together in the evening lounge after our bath. We’d like to stay here again on our next trip to Nasu! It was also great to have plenty of hangers.

    Great value for money and very satisfying!

    We stayed over the weekend after Golden Week. It felt a bit busy, but the property is very spacious and we hardly experienced any crowding. There was a wide variety of food that guests of all ages can enjoy, and since our Room had been renovated, it was clean and comfortable. Our 3-year-old son also had a great time at both the indoor and outdoor play areas. If I had to mention one area for improvement: it would be helpful to have towels available in the bath area so you don’t have to go back up to your Room if you forget them; elevators get crowded around meal start/end times and can be hard to board; and it would be nice to see a bit more smiles and hospitality from staff (both when making dining time reservations and when we called—both times handled by male staff, who felt somewhat lacking in hospitality). We’d love to stay again in a nicer season!

    For a family trip with small children, I think this is a very good Hotel, but since we were staying as adults only, we couldn’t relax. During bar hours, small children were running around until late at night, making it unsafe even to go get drinks. Also, there were hardly any Hotel staff present; snacks were left spilled on the floor, and even when guests changed over, tables weren’t cleaned and chairs weren’t straightened—everything was simply left unattended. We didn’t see any staff at the Hotel entrance, in the parking lot, or at the outdoor children’s play area either, so we spent two days feeling very anxious about what would happen if there was any trouble.

    We were extremely satisfied with the staff’s service!

    This was our first stay with our grandchildren’s family. During Golden Week, special events were prepared, and in addition to the playground equipment set up next to the Hotel entrance and the many indoor play areas, there were games and workshops that let us fully enjoy a festival atmosphere. The grandchildren were thrilled, and we were also deeply impressed by an evening event where wonderful live music gently filled the entire hall.\n\nEven amid the Golden Week crowds, we were moved by how the staff worked together—guiding guests to the elevators, escorting them to their dining seats, and handling cleanup—always with warm smiles. We truly appreciate their thoughtful care, including providing a baby bed for small children. It became a wonderful memory!\n\nIf we have another chance to visit Nasu, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you very much to all of the staff!

    We were extremely satisfied!

    We were able to enjoy meals, the Onsen, and a children’s play area all within the Hotel, so we could relax at our own pace. The Room was also very clean and spacious, making it comfortable to unwind.

    It was a trip that made our grandchild very happy.

    On our first trip to Nasu Highlands, we stayed for two nights with our grandchild. As the Reviews said, there were plenty of play areas, and since it was raining, we were able to spend a long time there, which was very helpful. For breakfast, although it was included for both mornings, the buffet selection was almost the same on both days. It would be even better with some variety such as different soups or salads. Also, the kids’ menu and taste were not quite satisfactory. I think it would become even more popular if you offered tastier meals for children. As for the bath facilities, perhaps because they are geared toward children, the water temperature was set low and felt cold, so we warmed up in the sauna. We were looking forward to enjoying the Onsen, so that was a bit disappointing. Although drinks are available in the lounge, there is a time limit. I thought it would be more relaxing if there were tea or coffee in the Room along with cups or glasses.

    Perfect for families with children

    This was our second stay, the first in two years. Both times we stayed for two nights, and it’s great to be able to enjoy a beer or sparkling wine as soon as you arrive. There was one more lounge than last time, and the large tatami room for kids was comfortable, but it was a little disappointing that the drink selection there was limited. The bath area is very spacious, and they also provide children’s shampoo and other amenities, which was excellent. Since this was our second visit, one disappointment was that the meals were not very different from last time. There are many main dishes, so it may not be ideal for those who mainly want to enjoy drinks. Given the wide variety of alcohol available, it would be helpful if there were more snack-style dishes to go with them. With that much alcohol on offer, it felt like a missed opportunity. That said, overall we were satisfied.

    Family-friendly and easy to visit with children.

    This Accommodation is safe and comfortable even for guests traveling with infants. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent, with a wide variety that suited everyone from children to seniors, as well as international guests. We especially recommend the locally produced dairy products and meats. The large public bath was also spacious and very nice. It’s an Accommodation we would like to visit again.

    The best.

    I stayed with my 1.5-year-old child. There were other families with children as well, so we felt at ease and could enjoy the meals and the baths. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the Room was comfortable. If I had to mention one thing, the elevator can get crowded depending on the time of day, and we sometimes waited about 5 minutes.

    Perfect for families with children

    It was a one-night stay. We spent the day in Nasu and checked in in the evening, but honestly I wished we could have checked in earlier. I would have loved to relax while letting the kids play in the Hotel’s kids’ Room. The lounge drinks and snacks were also wonderful. I was personally happy that there were lots of manga, and neither my children nor I had enough time. Next time, I’d like to stay two nights and spend one day just relaxing at the Hotel. The Room was very clean, and when we arrived there was even a stuffed toy prepared for our child. There was also a sofa, so it felt like a great place to unwind (though with only one night, we didn’t really get to). We were satisfied with the meals as well! Just one thing: because everything else was so clean, I would have been even happier if the sink drain had been a bit cleaner.

    Difference in perceived temperature

    We stayed one night in a Family Superior Twin. The central air conditioning throughout the building made the Room feel more hot than warm; I think a slightly lower setting would have been better. One concern was that there was fine dust/lint on the bed sheets and pillows—enough to see with the naked eye—and it made me want to use a lint roller. It seemed like it may have been there from when they were delivered by the supplier, so I understand it may be unavoidable, but I hope this can be improved. The dining staff and housekeeping staff greeted us very pleasantly. During a meal, our small child touched a hot surface. It didn’t result in a burn, but the staff handled it very carefully and we really appreciated their help. Next time, we’d like to stay again in a Room without a unit bath.

    Pros: I’ve stayed at...

    Pros: I’ve stayed at several other Mercure properties, and the service from the staff here was especially good. In particular, their kindness toward children, how quickly they cleared finished plates in the restaurant, and their upbeat guidance all felt very pleasant. Cons: As others have mentioned, the Room air conditioning is hard to adjust and it gets hot. The in-room control is a dial with only about three levels (roughly low/medium/high heating), so there’s no way to lower the temperature except by opening the window—but then insects come in. Other: Since this is a family-friendly Hotel, it was full of families, but the guests were well-mannered and we were able to stay comfortably. (It may also be because we visited on a weekday.) The dining options seem to have fewer beef- and pork-based meat dishes than before—perhaps due to cost cutting—but instead there’s a lineup of thoughtfully prepared dishes that made meals enjoyable. In the lounge, you can also drink beer at night. (At some other Mercure properties, beer isn’t available at night.)

    We stayed here with three generations of our family.

    The other day, I stayed with my 2-year-old child and my mother. The kids’ area was very well equipped, and my child seemed to have a great time playing there, which was wonderful. However, there were a few things that concerned me. The bed guard I had requested in advance had not been set up, so I contacted the front desk and they arranged it. Also, even though I had registered that I would be staying with a child at the time of the Reservation, children’s amenities were not prepared in the Room, and I had to contact staff to have them brought to us. In addition, when we were about to take a bath, we did not have enough towels. When I asked if we could borrow a towel for my child, I was told rather firmly that “there are none in the Room for children aged 3 and over,” and then we were given a towel. Although the issue was addressed, it left me feeling somewhat disappointed. Overall, the Facility and kid-friendly environment were great. That is why I feel that improving advance preparation, information sharing among staff members, and customer service would make this Accommodation even more reassuring to use.

    Perfect for traveling with young children (babies to preschoolers).

    The restaurant is on the top floor, but as soon as you get off the elevator you’re met with a cafeteria-style line. The tables are packed tightly together; the gaps are so narrow only children can pass through, and old tables are crammed in. There’s no room to sit comfortably, and the live kitchen can’t keep up. The view from the 13th floor was great both morning and evening, but it didn’t seem to matter to most parents. We were squeezed into a four-person table in the dining hall. As for the guest room, depending on the floor it hasn’t been renovated, so it was exactly like in the photos yet completely different from what I expected—I felt deceived. A unit bathroom is unacceptable; I’ve never brushed my teeth over a toilet before, so it was quite a shock and felt unfair. (From what I could see on other floors where we stopped, my floor and above still seemed unrenovated.) The Hotel staff are far from hospitable. After check-in, “all-inclusive” is basically full self-service—there’s hardly any staff around. When I asked how to spend time at the Hotel, the person in charge couldn’t even explain where the lounge was or its hours. They just handed me a sheet with bath times and left me to figure everything out myself. About the lounge: first of all, KINOHA is simply chairs set up in a large hall. I was looking forward to a library experience, but it’s basically just some manga and magazines. Small children seemed happy running around like an indoor sports day. At night in the lounge, small kids were brought along by their parents and were enthusiastically staying up late. The space design is lovely, but parents leave their kids unattended while they get loud—there’s no relaxing atmosphere. There’s always a line for drinks, and paper cups ruin the ambiance; at least they should be clear plastic. I planned to relax in the lounge after breakfast but was surprised it was closed—I couldn’t even get coffee. You also can’t take anything out of the dining hall (there aren’t even paper cups provided). It feels like an easy environment for families—there were even baby beds set up in the dining hall for infants who can’t sit up yet. For moms who have just started parenting or are about to start soon, it may be a soothing place; you end up wanting to cheer on dads doing their best with family service. My daughter is 10 now, so this Hotel isn’t really for us anymore—maybe if she were younger I would have found it relaxing too. It felt like we completely chose wrong when picking this Hotel. The baths felt like a school trip right after arrival because of how crowded they were, but at night and in the morning they were quiet and nice—the only real relaxation. The one good thing was being able to spend time in the post-bath lounge. That said, it only became quiet because families with small children went back early and there were fewer people around.

    We had a wonderful time with the kids!

    We stayed during spring break! It was our first all-inclusive experience, and it was truly fulfilling—there were plenty of alcoholic drinks, beverages, food, and ice cream to enjoy, and the kids were delighted! Above all, they were happiest that they could have as much Tettin Dots ice cream as they wanted!! The kids’ play area was also comfortable, and we had a wonderful time as a family. When our child fell asleep while eating at the buffet, the staff kindly checked on us, helped us move to another seat, and lent us a blanket—it was a huge help. Since our child fell asleep during the meal again, they even gave us takeaway containers so we could eat in our Room later. We really appreciated it—thank you! If I had to mention one thing, the dinner buffet wasn’t quite what we hoped for. We would have loved main meat dishes like steak or roast beef. Still, overall we were very satisfied. We’d love to visit again if we have the chance!

    Highly satisfied.

    We stayed here for a three-generation family trip. Room: Clean and cute, and we really appreciated that baby/kids amenities were already set out from the start. Meals: There were many great points—being able to enjoy Nasu-style dishes, plenty of sauces and toppings, fun options like build-your-own burgers, noodles, and eggs Benedict, plus convenient kids’ chairs and baby beds. We would have loved to see something like a hearty meat dish as well. Bath: The water was pleasantly warm (not too hot), making it easy for children to enjoy. The starry sky was beautiful from the open-air bath. We appreciated that each shower space is partitioned, but it was hard to wash with three of us side by side with our child—so it would be nice if there were some wider shower spaces too. The wide range of baby/kids amenities was very helpful. Having small chairs for children would also feel reassuring. Facility: The family lounge was wonderful. Our child was thrilled with the variety of snacks and toys. There were places to play actively both indoors and outdoors, and they kept saying they didn’t want to leave. The post-bath area, hallways, restrooms, etc., were all clean and stylish as well. Staff: From our first phone call onward, everyone was extremely courteous—we’re very grateful. The front desk staff, shop staff, and dining staff all helped us with smiles, making our stay very comfortable. We also appreciated how kindly they spoke to our child. Since we visited just before peak season began in earnest, everything felt relaxed throughout the property—and I think that allowed us to enjoy ourselves at an unhurried pace as well. Both adults and children were completely satisfied, so we will definitely return again. Thank you very much!

    No repeat stays.

    This was our first stay with our 2-year-old child. There were play areas for children both inside and outside the building, so we had no trouble finding places to play. However, the age of the Facility was noticeable, and we felt the Room refrigerator and toilet could be updated a bit. At meals, the kids’ corner had a lot of fried/brown items, and we would have liked more colorful vegetable options.

    This Hotel is family-friendly and welcoming to guests with children.

    We stayed with our 18-month-old grandchild, and it was wonderful—there were many thoughtful touches to help young children enjoy their stay. The baby food and baby bed were especially helpful.

    It was very good.

    We stayed as a family, and the kids were especially thrilled. They could drink juice and eat ice cream as much as they wanted, which made it a fun change from everyday life. Ice cream was available from 15:00 to 18:00, so they said they wished they could have had it at night too. They’re already saying they want to stay again as soon as possible. Adults can also enjoy all-you-can-drink alcohol, so it’s great for those who drink. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and the vegetables were delicious. The Room was clean, and overall we were very satisfied. It was a wonderful trip.
