    It was great.

    I stayed here on a trip with just my daughter, and it became a wonderful memory. I was worried about the snowy roads, but the route from the station to the Hotel was easy to follow, and I think it’s in an excellent location. Next time, I’d like to stay here with our family of four. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Excellent lounge access included.

    I stayed here because I couldn’t book the other Hotel I wanted. It’s a little away from the downtown area, but it’s about a 5-minute walk from Odori Nishi 11-chome Station, so the location was basically fine. It seems this property used to operate as a convention Hotel, and after partial renovations it reopened under a new Hotel name the year before last. I stayed for two days: on the first day I ate and drank in Susukino, and on the second day I had an early dinner out and then used the lounge service. There was a wide variety of drinks, and the snacks were excellent. The lounge service was so good that I wished I had used it on the first day as well. The spacious lounge made for a truly luxurious time. In-room amenities were limited to a tea set, but with the lounge service available it didn’t feel like an issue. I hope they continue offering the lounge service in the future.

    The front desk staff provides excellent service!

    I visit Sapporo several times a year. During the winter, when I go out less (including my 4-day birthday stay), I always choose this Hotel. The reasons are: - Lounge access is included - About a 5-minute walk from the subway station - Diamond member benefits are available - Great view and spacious Room This time, during check-in (4-day stay starting from January 26), the front desk staff's smile and attentiveness were exceptional. I was especially happy when they said, "Happy Birthday!" to me. I look forward to seeing that smile again. I'll be staying here again next winter!

    Consideration from a cost balance perspective

    Stayed for 3 nights. Have been visiting since the old Royton days. The guest room remains unrenovated, and aging is noticeable. Bathroom amenities are acceptable, but in-room amenities only include green tea teabags and coffee cups; it would be nice to have black tea and coffee as well. There are no glasses provided, so everything has to be substituted with coffee cups. This is not a matter of "there's a lounge available." Guests want to enjoy their time comfortably in the room too. Are guests expected to drink wine or beer purchased outside using coffee cups? How does the hotel view this issue? This was my first experience like this— even business hotels provide both cups and glasses as standard. Regarding room cleaning, I moved two chairs that were inconveniently placed, only to find dried instant noodle fragments underneath them—this reflects poor attention during cleaning checks. The bathtub is also unrenovated but offers ample hot water with excellent temperature control. The breakfast restaurant has been renovated; however, the menu remained unchanged over three days except for the soup at the self-serve noodle station: salt-based on day one, tonkotsu on day two, and back to salt on day three. For multiple night stays, while there’s a decent variety of dishes available overall, guests need to select different items each day themselves. The lounge service seems emphasized: during part one there’s beer, wine, dried codfish/salmon snacks along with macaroni-shaped crackers; part two adds hard liquor plus chocolates/desserts like daifuku mochi sweets among others—but peanuts or similar snacks would have been appreciated too. While this service may be included in accommodation fees when compared against those fees it feels slightly underwhelming. I understand Sapporo's rising accommodation costs; however considering aging facilities alongside limited in-room provisions such as cups/teabags—even with lounge services—the cost balance feels off compared against newer or recently renovated hotels increasing locally nowadays under just relying solely upon its Grand Mercure branding might struggle retaining repeat domestic customers especially amidst growing competition from modernized options elsewhere within Japan-focused clientele strategies beyond inbound tourism dependency could help address potential challenges tied towards future currency fluctuations favoring stronger yen scenarios instead ultimately satisfaction relative pricing left disappointingly low overall unfortunately

    Breakfast and lounge were excellent! Wi-Fi was the worst. :-(

    This hotel, rebranded from an old large-scale hotel, has some unused spaces like banquet halls that feel empty and a bit surprising. The location is prime, surrounded by courthouses and government offices, but it’s not in an entertainment district. However, the lounge service from 3 PM to 6 PM and 9 PM to 11 PM (also the breakfast venue) is excellent. Especially after 9 PM, draft beers such as Sapporo Classic, Kirin Ichiban Shibori, and Asahi Super Dry are free of charge. Breakfast deserves high praise! If ordered separately, it costs ¥3,850 (if I remember correctly), so choosing a breakfast-included plan is highly recommended. There were comments about no laundry facilities before; however, it seems they have been newly installed now. According to the information provided, they are free for guests. As an IKYU Diamond Member, I appreciated the complimentary parking fee benefit explained during check-in. However, during my multiple night stay when presenting my parking ticket at the front desk later on, a staff member asked if I had paid for parking—this was disappointing. Lastly...the worst part was the internet connection. Whether in the room or lounge area—it never exceeded 10 Mbps at best! Streaming videos or updates were impossible. Although registering as a member promised faster speeds according to their noticeboard—it made no difference at all! This definitely needs improvement!

    You can enjoy a very satisfying breakfast.

    The breakfast was excellent and very satisfying. It was buffet-style with many appealing menu options, so much so that I couldn't try everything. I would stay here again just for the breakfast. While the Room and Facility show some signs of age, it is not bothersome, and the stay is comfortable. The Room is spacious, the bath is large, and you can relax fully. The lounge service exceeded expectations to a surprising degree!

    First Stay

    I have visited Sapporo many times and stayed at various accommodations, but this one was a bit disappointing. The cleaning was done well, but the place felt old and had a slightly strange smell. The water pressure in the shower and toilet was weak. It would have been nice if YouTube could be accessed. However, the room was spacious, and the lounge was very lovely where I could relax and enjoy some drinks. The accommodation fee was also affordable. Thank you very much!

    The facility feels slightly old but has no particular issues.

    The building offers a spacious and open atmosphere, and the room size is comfortable for relaxation. The lounge was very crowded, but there were no issues with manners. With beer, wine, and snacks available, we ended up feeling quite full—so much so that we couldn't enjoy Hokkaido's delicacies later. It's within walking distance to Sapporo's downtown area. In the morning, it took about 10 minutes by taxi to the market and cost less than 2,000 yen. Considering our plans for the day, we opted for a no-breakfast plan and enjoyed a meal at the market instead. Leaving the Hotel at 7 AM allowed us to reach Sapporo Station by 9 AM and make full use of our day!

    The rooms are spacious, but...

    The former Royton has been renovated, offering spacious guest rooms and a sense of openness. However, the Facility as a whole is old, with some areas showing signs of wear or being slightly inconvenient to use. Considering the price, the breakfast buffet is quite satisfying.

    The age of the Facility cannot be denied.

    Unpleasant odor from the drain upon entering the Room. For a Multiple Night Stay, we skipped cleaning on the second day and only requested additional amenities, but received only towels and toothbrushes. What about razors, etc.? The impression of front desk staff varies greatly depending on the person. As for breakfast, if you go at a slightly later time, food options are sparse with some items nearly empty. It’s questionable whether stations like pancakes or soup curry are even functioning properly.

    The lounge was very convenient.

    I assumed that the Plan with lounge access included breakfast, but it turned out breakfast is an additional charge of 3,800 yen. This could be a bit confusing, so please make it clearer. The 3,800 yen breakfast was absolutely delicious and very satisfying. I highly recommend taking your time to enjoy it at leisure. The front desk staff were all kind and pleasant to interact with. Thank you very much!

    Recently rebranded Hotel from the Accor Group

    Stayed for one night on a business trip. This accommodation was rebranded from the former Royton Hotel, so I decided to stay here. The breakfast area is very spacious, with a well-equipped buffet and live kitchen, making it an excellent setup. The room was renovated and comfortable. Since the base structure is that of a traditional hotel, it’s convenient for those traveling by car as there’s an underground parking lot that can be used regardless of the weather. I would consider staying here again.

    The room is spacious but has an overall old-fashioned feel.

    The Room is spacious enough to open a suitcase without feeling cramped. However, the overall Facility, including the bathroom and sink, feels outdated. A downside is that the room's air conditioning is barely adjustable, making it constantly hot. It was so warm that wearing long sleeves caused sweating, and children ended up sweating in the Room and going outside. Overall, the Room fell short of expectations. The lounge offers unlimited drinks like Sapporo Classic beer and sparkling wine. There are also Hokkaido specialties such as salmon and cod snacks, which were very satisfying. Since we spent more time in the lounge due to the heat in the Room, improving comfort within the Room would further enhance satisfaction.

    Clear view!

    The Room on the 15th floor offered a beautiful view of the TV tower and sunrise through the window! I also enjoyed having beer at the lounge starting from 9 AM, which was great! It would be even better if it opened an hour earlier to make it easier to visit Susukino (haha). Looking forward to staying again when I visit Sapporo!

    I had a relaxing time in the spacious Room.

    The amenities were sufficient, and everything necessary was provided. The Room was spacious, allowing our family to relax comfortably. Next time, we would like to use the lounge. Although it is a bit far from Sapporo Station, it was pleasant for a walk and comfortable overall.

    Was it that Hotel?

    It seems this accommodation was formerly known as Royton Sapporo. It is a classic, luxurious hotel with a touch of the bubble era. The decor is splendid and opulent, but the facilities are quite dated. The water pressure in the shower is below standard, and the toilet flow is also weak, giving an undeniable sense of being repurposed. However, the room structure is solid and spacious enough. The elevator speed is impressive—this was excellent. The lounge can be used by all guests, which was a delightful experience. Unlimited alcohol was a highlight; having fewer snacks seemed to reduce long stays by others, making it less crowded and more comfortable for those who enjoy drinking. While the outdated facilities and slightly inconvenient access might deter some by today’s standards, its proximity to Odori Park and views of Okurayama Ski Jump from the rooms make it perfect for enjoying nostalgic Sapporo charm. The open atmosphere of the lounge offers an experience that’s rare nowadays—I hope they keep it as it is!

    Taxi Services at the Hotel

    The Room feels a bit old but is spacious, offering city hotel quality at a business hotel price. By cutting unnecessary costs, it provides excellent value. The lounge service is great, and considering the cost of going to cafes or izakayas outside, it feels like a very good deal. One disappointing experience was when I asked for a taxi in the morning. Although it was supposed to arrive in about 10 minutes during rush hour, I ended up waiting over 20 minutes. Walking to Sapporo Station would have been faster, so it would have been helpful if this had been mentioned beforehand. Taxis from the station are much more convenient than taking the subway when carrying luggage.

    Best value for money

    I had plans to visit Kushiro for a concert by my favorite artist, but due to flight schedules, I ended up staying in Sapporo on the last day. I was initially looking for a Business Hotel, but upon a friend's recommendation, I considered staying at Grand Mercure and checked availability on IKYU.com. Surprisingly, it was almost the same price as a Business Hotel! (And it included lounge service and breakfast!!) From early lounge service hours to midnight use, I enjoyed spending the night with various drinks centered around Sapporo Classic beer. I would love to stay here again when I visit Sapporo next time. Thank you very much!

    For reunion gatherings

    Over 50 years since graduating from university, and the 8th reunion after turning 60. Completely satisfied with this Hotel. Enjoyed a blissful time chatting leisurely in the lounge while sipping Sapporo Classic beer, wine, and more. However, points deducted due to poor toilet drainage in the Room.

    Spacious and comfortable for a relaxing stay.

    We arrived about 90 minutes before the 3:00 PM check-in time but were able to smoothly enter our room. This was a great help as we were tired from traveling by train from Chitose Airport. The lounge operates in two sessions: 3:00 PM–7:00 PM and 9:00 PM–11:00 PM, with no usage limits for guests. The later session offers a wider variety of drinks and snacks. Seasonally, the Autumn Festa was being held at Odori Park, where we enjoyed local Hokkaido gourmet food. At West 10th Street, there are many meat-focused restaurants with enticing grilled aromas that stimulate your appetite. The hotel's interior has some parts that feel dated but is overall luxurious in design. Unfortunately, the sink stopper didn’t close completely, so water drained out within minutes while washing my face. Overall, this is a spacious and relaxing accommodation to stay at.

    Stayed during the September holiday. Arrived via direct bus from the airport and headed straight to the lounge. Enjoyed a drink before exploring Sapporo city. Not only Odori and Susukino, but also Maruyama Zoo and Hokkaido Shrine were within walking distance, just under 3 kilometers away. It felt like shifting the center of a compass slightly, allowing us to visit more places by using this Hotel as our base. I was curious about the rebranding, but it turned out to be unnecessary concern. Although there are intervals in availability, being able to use the lounge for extended hours was delightful. Breakfast lived up to its reviews. Additionally, "Le Sensoriel," with its high ceilings and morning sunlight, was very pleasant. The soup curry collaboration with "GARAKU," freshly made Zangi burgers and eggs benedict at the live kitchen, DIY salt ramen or pho noodles, soft serve ice cream, adorable donuts that are fun just to look at, smoothies... Oh, I want to go back again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Smells like tobacco.

    The Room smelled strongly of smoke, likely due to being a former smoking room. Fortunately, I was able to move to another Room, which was better. As an Accor Group member, this stay made me reconsider my future Hotel choices carefully.

    The lounge is excellent.

    I have been using this hotel since it was Royton, and this is my fifth stay. It’s my second time staying here since it became Mercure. I thought the lounge service was only available last year, but I was pleased to see it continued. The variety of drinks and snacks available freely (even though I’m not an executive) is quite rare. I would definitely like to stay here again!

    2-Day Multiple Night Stay Service

    The Hotel was closer to Subway Nishi 11-Chome Station than expected and very comfortable. At the time of Reservation, I didn’t know about the complimentary "1st-floor lounge" service, which provided snacks and drinks, making it a pleasant way to spend the evening at the Hotel. Being able to enjoy draft beer (Classic) was a delightful bonus. The Room was spacious and comfortable. The nearby soup curry restaurant was also delicious.
