A Hotel exclusively for Hyatt lovers.

I stayed for one night on a business trip. I stay at Hotels and Ryokans about 70–80 nights a year for travel and work. Since a new Hyatt-brand Hotel had opened, I decided to try it. Location: Between Nipponbashi and Ebisucho, facing Sakaisuji. It’s not an area where people who know old Osaka—or many Japanese guests—tend to stay, but it’s especially popular with foreign tourists. Guest room: Shower only. The sink and shower are combined in a compact wet-area layout. The design is nice—similar in style to Moxy or Aloft in Osaka—but there aren’t any particular space-saving ideas like you see at Moxy. Facility: As this is a lodging-focused Hotel, the only shared Facility is basically the café on the first floor. There’s no smoking area either. Service: Right next to the entrance there’s a small space with two unattended self check-in kiosks. It clearly feels insufficient and likely to cause congestion, yet there isn’t any space for guests to wait. Breakfast: A one-plate breakfast. There aren’t many options, though soft drinks are unlimited. The food was just sausage, two fried eggs, a small slice of white bread (no jam or butter), and bland raw vegetables with no flavoring. I even checked IKYU because I wondered if this was supposed to be a free-breakfast Hotel—but they charge standard Hotel rates. This was the worst breakfast I’ve had at any Hotel; honestly shocking. Charging for this? It wasn’t good, so I left most of it and went to a convenience store instead. Overall satisfaction: Even setting breakfast aside, the quality of the Facility and service—and the location—don’t match the price at all. A Hotel mainly for Hyatt loyalists.
