    Is this Japan? A paradise in Japan! A wonderful Hotel!

    62-year-old solo traveler! I traveled from Iwakuni Airport by rental car. I stayed at Marissa for two nights! All-inclusive, with free Onsen, coin laundry, and an amazing view from the room—everything was top-notch! Above all, the meals were delicious, especially the French cuisine made with ingredients from Oshima—it was exquisite! The sunrise over the sea viewed from the Hotel was breathtaking! Oh, and the local soda and ice cream after a bath were such a treat! I definitely want to come back to this Hotel again. Thank you very much!

    Enjoy All-Inclusive Luxury

    We thoroughly enjoyed the all-inclusive experience. We indulged in plenty of food and drinks, and had fun with activities like cycling, coffee tasting, stargazing with a telescope, and using the massage chairs. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, even providing thoughtful accommodations for wheelchair users. This made me think it might be a great place to bring my elderly parents as well. We also got to see the sunrise and had a wonderfully relaxing stay. Thank you so much!

    It was a very lovely Hotel.

    The location was excellent. The outdoor infinity pool blended seamlessly with the ocean, offering a stunning view. The room was spacious and clean. The meals were delicious and served in portions that were just right for us seniors. With the all-inclusive plan, there was a wide variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from, making it hard to decide what to drink. We also enjoyed watching the sunrise the next morning. If given the chance, we would love to stay here again!

    Precious Time

    I finally had the chance to stay at the Marissa Resort, which I had always wanted to visit. It was even more wonderful than I imagined. Thank you for arranging a Room near the elevator for my mother, who has difficulty walking. The Room was impeccably clean and truly beautiful. I was able to spend precious and relaxing time with my mother during our remaining moments together. In the morning, we enjoyed a walk along the beach, and seeing her happy face made me feel joyful as well. The staff were all very kind and attentive—thank you so much for your hospitality. I will definitely come back again!

    It's unfortunate that there is no consideration for wheelchair users, despite being a good Hotel...

    The Hotel exceeded expectations with its stunning views, atmosphere, meals, and all-inclusive services. However, the Room's bathroom lacked handrails, and there was no consideration for a shower chair as requested in advance, which felt unsafe. Handrails in the bathroom are essential not only for wheelchair users but also for seniors, children, or those who have consumed alcohol to ensure safety. We hope for improvements in this regard and that similar considerations will extend to other Hotels as well.

    About the Room

    I mistakenly confused the total amount (×2) with the price for one person and ended up reserving a cheaper room. As a result, both the view from the room and the interior were not very impressive. I wonder if I would have been more satisfied with a higher-ranked room.

    Highly Satisfied

    The sound of the waves right in front of the sea was soothing throughout our stay. Upon arrival, we enjoyed light snacks, alcohol, and various beverages, which instantly relieved the fatigue from over three hours of driving. The seasonal touch with small Halloween cakes was a delightful surprise. The breakfast buffet in the morning was not crowded, likely because it was a weekday, and the variety of dishes offered was just right. The coffee corner near the front desk, where you can grind beans and brew your own coffee, added a nice personal touch—I used it several times. Personally, I recommend the post-bath Room filled with travel-related books; it’s a great spot to relax. This was my first visit to Suo-Oshima Island, and I appreciated how well its charm came through in their selection of souvenirs while enjoying just enough Setouchi resort vibes. Living in Hiroshima's Setouchi area myself, I found Yamaguchi’s atmosphere refreshingly different—in a good way—and their unique use of citrus in cuisine particularly intriguing. Next time, I’d love to stay for 2-3 nights!

    This hotel, which I visited many times with my mother, was once called "Sunshine Southern Seto." My mother recently celebrated her 100th birthday, and when I asked her where the best place she had ever been was, she answered "Hawaii of Suo-Oshima." Encouraged by my wife, who had never been there before, we decided to visit for the first time in six years. The system has changed since it became Marissa. When making the Reservation, I thought it was "a bit more expensive," but during our stay, I was amazed by the all-you-can-drink alcohol system as it was a first for me. My wife also seemed very satisfied with her first visit. The sunrise was incredibly beautiful and mesmerizing. My wife is usually quite critical about travel destinations but wanted to share some feedback below. She emphasized that these are "opinions" and not complaints. We hope this helps further enhance this Resort Hotel's quality. 1) It’s unfortunate that the outdoor bath does not face the sea despite having such a beautiful ocean view right in front. 2) The red and white wines included in the all-you-can-drink were not great in taste. There should be plenty of affordable yet delicious options available—please consider selecting better ones (sweet wines can fool beginners but are unbearable for wine enthusiasts; also, chilled red wine felt disappointing). However, the sparkling wine tasted good. 3) One of the fish dishes in the dinner course had a fishy smell. Squeezing kabosu almost eliminated it—was it undercooked? 4) The sofas around the lagoon were wet with morning dew when we went out early to watch sunrise and couldn’t sit on them. A thoughtful touch like wiping them down would elevate this place into a top-tier Resort Hotel.

    A satisfying 2-night stay.

    I visited with an old friend. Despite making a reservation over two months in advance, the accommodation was nearly fully booked, showcasing its popularity. It was my first time hearing of Suo-Oshima, and I was excited yet nervous about what kind of place it would be. The first day blessed us with excellent weather, and we had a memorable experience stargazing with knowledgeable staff providing lectures and telescope observations. On the second day, after touring the island with a shared car, we had an early dinner. The menu was entirely different from the first day, and everything was incredibly delicious. The staff's exceptional service made our last evening end with smiles. After check-out, we received thoughtful gestures, and I was impressed by how well the accommodation understood and catered to each guest. On the return shuttle service, there was a significant wait until the train's departure. The driver kindly offered an island tour with the consent of other passengers. Thank you for this thoughtful gesture. The hospitality until the very end was heartwarming. As for the downsides: At the spa, not all dressers had hair dryers, and while there was lotion, there was no emulsion. The room was simple and pleasant, but the lack of a chest made it difficult to store undergarments, and the rectangular sink with limited depth caused water splashes, making it less convenient to use. Although the number of staff did not seem large, each individual was highly skilled, and the service was impeccable. It was a truly wonderful stay. Thank you, everyone!

    It was very relaxing.

    We stayed for one night from Saturday. Due to heavy rain, we arrived at the Hotel early but were able to relax in the lobby until check-in. Starting from 2 PM, we enjoyed some alcoholic beverages, which helped relieve our fatigue from the long journey. The variety of alcohol was excellent. However, it was a bit disappointing that children were touching snacks excessively and being noisy. It might be more comfortable for everyone if there were separate spaces or designated family areas. The bread during meals was delicious but unfortunately not replenished, which was disappointing. Overall, while the presentation of the dishes was good, the ingredients felt lacking and did not meet expectations for French cuisine with a dress code. The Onsen, Room, and amenities were very clean and well-maintained. The room was spacious enough as well, making us want to stay again in the future. Lastly, it would be great if you could create a few pet-friendly rooms. We would love to visit every year with our pet!

    I stayed at the Resort Hotel for a relaxing time, but the attitude of the female staff at the lounge in the evening was far from professional. Her language was extremely inappropriate, lacking even basic politeness. This completely ruined the mood and left me feeling unpleasant. I detailed my experience in the hotel's survey, but have received no response. Is this how it ends? This is the first time I have encountered such poor service at a Hotel. I was considering returning with my grandchild, but that is no longer an option.

    From check-in to check-out, I had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the all-inclusive experience. However, it was inconvenient that wearing the in-house attire was not allowed in the evening, and I wished for onsen socks. Still, this is an accommodation I would love to revisit!

    It was a comfortable day.

    I stayed here when returning to my hometown. It’s about 30 minutes from Oshima Bridge, a bit far but located in a quiet area with a room offering a full view of the sea, making for a comfortable stay. If I may suggest, it would be great if there were handrails in the bathroom (both the balcony bath and indoor bath), but both the room and facilities were impeccably clean.

    We had a great time.

    It was a very fulfilling 1-night, 2-day stay. There were so many services to enjoy, and it was fun to experience them all. The food and drinks were delicious, and the Onsen was so relaxing that I went in multiple times. Everything was clean and comfortable, making my stay pleasant.     We enjoyed a relaxing 2-night stay in a spacious and clean Room at the Hotel with beautiful beaches and scenery. As a special perk, we received a 60-minute thorough body massage that completely relieved our tension. On the last Saturday of August, there was a lively hula dance event, while Sunday offered the opposite—a peaceful stroll along the quiet dawn coastline followed by our favorite beer in the morning. It was an incredibly luxurious holiday. Thank you very much!

    Service and food were very disappointing.

    The service and meals were extremely disappointing. I have never experienced such a disappointing accommodation through this site before, which made it all the more shocking as I was looking forward to celebrating a special occasion. ① Check-in Two staff members were assisting other guests, so I waited in front of the counter. When one guest's interaction ended, I assumed it was my turn and approached the counter, but the staff member left without acknowledging me. After waiting for about five minutes, another staff member asked if they could help me, and I proceeded with check-in. A simple acknowledgment or direction to wait at a specific area would have been appreciated. ② Meals The dining experience felt rushed and did not meet expectations. The plan included a complimentary full bottle of red wine for pairing, which we were excited about; however, no mention of it was made until we inquired during the main course. After checking with someone else, they brought us the bottle but simply placed it on our table (with the cork already removed) without any explanation before leaving abruptly. It felt less like service and more like plate delivery—perhaps due to being busy during a holiday period? ③ Shop Upon returning to our room, we found no alcohol in the refrigerator. My husband went to purchase some from the shop but discovered it had already closed for the day. He then asked if he could bring drinks from the lounge back to our room but was told that wasn’t allowed and advised instead to buy from their shop—which he explained had closed by then! We were informed that ringing a bell might summon assistance; however when someone finally appeared after ringing it—a visibly displeased woman—she stated that selling alcohol wasn’t possible due "to system limitations." Even after asking where else alcohol might be available nearby she insisted there weren’t any options until eventually resolving things begrudgingly back at their shop following further complaints shared within their lounge area afterward. While requesting something outside regular hours may not have been ideal on our part—we simply wanted an enjoyable drink together privately within our own space.     The view is great, and the Room is clean.

    The view from the lobby upon arrival was stunning. The view from the room was, of course, also excellent. The front desk staff lacked a smile and seemed a bit intimidating. However, the lady at the lounge in the evening was very pleasant. We enjoyed drinks and light snacks at the lounge after arrival. The waffles and DIY muffins were delicious. Even in September, it was warm enough to enjoy both the pool and the sea, as well as free SUP rentals. The Onsen wasn’t crowded, allowing for a relaxing experience. Since we had been traveling around from Hiroshima during these hot days, we were running out of clothes to change into; however, this Hotel provided free laundry machines (including detergent & fabric softener), which was incredibly helpful. Both the lounge and breakfast were great; however, dinner was disappointing—especially the final meat dish. It claimed to be braised black wagyu beef but lacked any aroma of wagyu beef; it tasted more like pork belly with mostly fat that made it hard to eat. I think switching to fillet cuts even in smaller portions would be better quality-wise. That said, fish dishes and bread were delicious. Although Hiroshima turned out farther than expected from here, it was worth visiting!

    Relax and enjoy your stay at the breathtaking Hotel!

    I was looking forward to staying at this flexible Hotel, which improves based on Reviews, after making an early Reservation. This time, I stayed for two nights in a premium Room with special Shuttle Service, and it was spacious and comfortable! Since I would like to visit again, I will note some points of concern. At check-in, we were informed not to bring float rings to the beach. However, when we went to the indoor pool where there were hardly any people, there were no float rings available. Later on, we saw people returning from the beach with float rings they had brought themselves; this was a bit disappointing. The sea in front of the Hotel is clear and beautiful but has many floating objects (including artificial ones), which felt like a missed opportunity for improvement. Regarding Room cleaning, I hope regular maintenance such as cleaning bathroom ventilation fans can be done more thoroughly. Dust had accumulated significantly and made noise noticeable during sleep hours. While overall service quality is good here, it felt understaffed at times. For example, although the executive lounge is excellent itself when crowded there wasn’t staff present consistently enough for replenishing snacks or drinks promptly—this was unfortunate. As for meals: having tried different Plans over two nights’ stay—the course including lobster stood out as far more satisfying! We were blessed with great weather during our stay; enjoying serene views while relaxing comfortably made it all worthwhile despite minor issues mentioned above! The staff left positive impressions too—it’s located slightly inconveniently but remains such an amazing place that I'm already considering visiting again next year!

    Maybe I expected too much.

    The reviews were quite good, so I had high expectations. Personally, I thought the all-you-can-drink option was great, but everything else felt average. The service didn’t particularly stand out, and there were moments of waiting idly during both check-in and check-out. We chose the cheaper plan, but I wonder if guests in higher-class plans also carry their own luggage? I saw some people using luggage carts. Even though dinner times were divided into slots, we had to wait past our designated time to be seated. The portion sizes might feel small for men. There weren’t any major issues, but some things were a bit unclear at times. That said, the sea is beautiful and quiet, there’s a pool as well—it seems like a good place for families with small children.

    Very satisfied, but one thing caught my attention.

    The all-inclusive package allowed us to enjoy drinks and the pool, making for a relaxing stay. Dinner was a barbecue, and the staff's service was excellent. Both the meat and seafood were delicious, leaving us very satisfied. The Room was spacious and comfortable. However, during breakfast at 8:50 AM, an older male staff member rudely rushed us by saying it was last order time, which shocked other guests as well. This behavior is unacceptable for a Hotel of this quality and tarnished our experience—please consider reassigning him to maintain the Hotel's standards. Overall, the atmosphere of the Hotel was fantastic.

    The Facility was truly amazing, giving a Hawaiian vibe while staying in Japan. As for the service, there was a noticeable difference between excellent staff and those who were not as accommodating. However, considering that casual service is common in Hawaii, it felt acceptable. One concern was the rule regarding the full bottle of red wine offered during dinner; it could not be taken back to the Room if unfinished. Since it would likely be discarded otherwise, allowing guests to take it back seems more aligned with today's sustainable practices.

    Stayed at Premium West. Plenty of towels and gowns provided. Amenities are L'Occitane. The room's bath takes a long time to fill, making it hard to use promptly. Access to the executive lounge is available, but similar services are offered in the regular lounge as well. At the restaurant, seating is in partitioned areas but doesn't feel particularly special. Although the website mentions an elegant breakfast on the patio starting at 9 AM, it turns out to be a standard buffet style with last orders at 9 AM, which can be misleading. The hotel size is neither too large nor too small, and its location right in front of a private beach is pleasant. All-inclusive services include free SUP rentals for easy access and enjoyment. The flow from changing rooms to the pool and beach is convenient. Staff are young, but hospitality could be improved. This time I rebooked using points for a relatively reasonable price and felt satisfied overall; however, if I had paid the original price, I might have felt it was not worth it.

    The conclusion was disappointing as I had high expectations. The system was completely different from the all-inclusive accommodations I have stayed at in the past, which was surprising. Unfortunately, I would not revisit personally, but it seems like a good accommodation for families with children. Here’s how it went: Upon arrival, you need to carry your own luggage. Even though we arrived at 3 PM when there were no other guests around and staff were coming and going at the front desk, we waited about 10 minutes to check in without any explanation. If the person in charge is unavailable, a simple notice asking us to wait would have been appreciated. Dinner time was supposed to be selectable; however, due to full occupancy, we were told it would be at 7:30 PM. After that, we carried our luggage ourselves to the room and relaxed until dinner time approached. We arrived five minutes early for dinner as instructed but were asked to wait upon trying to enter the restaurant when our time came—without any explanation—and ended up waiting about 15 minutes. A brief word of acknowledgment here would have been appreciated too. When finally guided inside, many guests had gathered naturally rushing ahead without control... We ended up being seated last and found ourselves surrounded by family groups’ tables which made it hard for us to relax peacefully. It would’ve been better if there had been an area designated for two-person seating. As for the wine full-bottle service advertised—it wasn’t offered proactively; instead only provided after inquiry from us saying "Yes available." So those wanting this should ask directly themselves. While they promote being all-inclusive—only two bottles of water are provided in-room initially. Requesting additional water incurs an extra charge of ¥140 per bottle. However complimentary drinks/snacks are available near spaces adjacent such as bath areas or upon arrival. For families visiting with small children—the beautiful beach nearby along with pools make this accommodation enjoyable enough!

    Overall, the Hotel, large public bath, and meals were great! However, there were many things that were unclear without asking, such as how to make ice cream in the lounge or how to use the pool and sea the next day. I hope this can be improved! That said, having unlimited Dassai sake and being able to enjoy alcohol even at breakfast was fantastic!

    Have a great summer vacation!

    Our summer plans changed, and we found this place while searching for a spot where our kids could enjoy both the beach and the pool. The view from the Room was amazing, and we appreciated the SUP rentals, all-inclusive dining services, post-bath drinks, and massage chairs. Dinner was BBQ-style; however, the raw meat provided was served on plates with plastic wrap in warm evening temperatures. This made us slightly concerned about food safety for small children. It would be more reassuring if they were kept in a cooler box with ice packs. Additionally, longer tongs and non-wooden chopsticks would be easier to use. For these reasons, I gave 4 stars instead of 5. We enjoyed fireworks, stargazing tours, and even watching the sunrise—overall a very satisfying experience! We spent quality time as a family without looking at clocks or TVs during our stay. We’d love to visit again!

    Room and public bath are clean, and unlimited drinks are satisfying!

    The Room was very clean. The large public bath was also clean, and the BBQ dinner was satisfying with a good variety, including not only meat but also seafood and ajillo! Alcoholic drinks, post-bath ice cream, and juice were all unlimited, and I felt relaxed using the massage chair! The only downside was that the pool changing room felt old, with a wet floor that made it uncomfortable to change. It would be even better if the pool changing room could be kept cleaner.

    A Resort Hotel where...

    A Resort Hotel where you can enjoy an extraordinary experience. The scenery and night sky are beautiful. The bath and post-bath facilities are excellent. However, there are three points to note: - While lounge service is available, luggage is not carried during check-out, nor is this information provided at check-in. - Although there is a restaurant, it cannot be used unless you make a reservation by 12:00 on the same day. - The changing rooms for the pool are not very clean, and the lockers are small.

    Stayed with the Summer Vacation × Takamori Beef & Abalone × Gourmet All-Inclusive Plan. I will only comment on one dish. Perhaps due to the high season with many guests, the meat dish was a ragout instead of steak. (The photo of the meal on the website shows steak, but is it always ragout? I'm not sure.)
