    The view from sunset into the night skyline was absolutely beautiful and truly moving! I would definitely love to stay here again.

    Enjoy panoramic views of Sakae. The Japanese crafts are also beautiful.

    We stayed here as a family of three during the summer holidays. I often visit the Chunichi Building, and the 7th-floor restaurants and observation terrace have long been favorite spots, so I wanted to stay at the Hotel as well. The view from the front desk was wonderful—you can overlook Sakae and even see as far as Nagoya. Depending on the Room, you may get that same view, but our Room faced the opposite side, with views toward landmarks such as Higashiyama Tower. Even so, it was still a great view and we enjoyed it fully. As it is a new Hotel, we were very satisfied with both the design and comfort. The Room and bathroom were spacious, allowing us to relax comfortably. We also appreciated how crafts showcasing artisan techniques from the Tokai and Hokuriku regions were incorporated throughout. In particular, I love Arimatsu shibori dyeing, so I was happy to see it used for items such as cushion covers in both the front desk area and our Room. My husband used the bar and said it was great. We felt this is an Accommodation we could confidently recommend to international guests as well. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Squeaky Room floors and disappointing service from the front desk staff

    Upon entering the Room, the wooden flooring made an extremely loud, irritating squeaking noise. This was a serious problem—especially when going to the bathroom late at night, as it would inevitably disturb my companion’s sleep. So I requested a Room change from the Hotel staff, and they arranged it immediately. However, as soon as we entered the new Room, we received a call from staff saying that using the new Room would require an additional charge equivalent to 30% of the original room rate. In fact, the new Room had the same layout and size as the original; the only difference was that it was two floors higher and had carpeted flooring. To begin with, we needed to change Rooms because of a major defect in the original Room—something that was not our fault at all. I could not accept paying 30% more under these circumstances. I asked whether there was another available Room at the same rate as our original one, but staff replied that there was not. Since it was already late and moving to another Hotel would have been inconvenient, we reluctantly paid the additional 30%. What made this even more unpleasant was that no one at reception informed us about any extra charge before we moved to the new Room—so hearing about such a high fee afterward came as a complete surprise. This left us extremely dissatisfied and became by far the worst part of our otherwise enjoyable trip to Nagoya.

    I love the Room design so much!

    The view of Nagoya from the window-side bed was amazing—an unforgettable experience! I used the sauna as a sauna lover, but the cool-down area felt a bit small, so I wished there were more thoughtful touches to help guests relax. I only had breakfast, but the terrace was wonderful—I enjoyed the Sakae scenery surrounded by greenery, and the food was delicious. A Hotel I’d love to stay at again.

    Conveniently located.

    As the Hotel is located on the upper floors of the relatively new (2-year-old) Chunichi Building, it is connected to the station underground, so you can get around without getting wet. Since it’s a commercial building with several restaurants in the basement, we also recommend relaxing and spending time at the Hotel. There are department stores nearby as well, making it a convenient location for dining in a lively area and for sightseeing anywhere. The Room was spacious, and the bathtub was deep enough to relax. I’d like to stay again if I have the chance.

    Not worth the price.

    Great views and a new building. However, there were no towels in the Room, and the shelf in the wash area was poorly installed and fell down near my feet. It not only worsened the experience but also felt dangerous. Despite the relatively high price, it was a disappointing stay.

    Used for her birthday

    Everything was excellent from start to finish. The restaurant was wonderful, the entrance was wonderful, and the location, service, and high-floor Room were all flawless—there is nothing to complain about. I would love to stay again.

    Thank you for the wonderful time!

    I was delighted to stay at this lovely Hotel with a Japanese modern atmosphere after a long time. The breakfast was delicious, had a touch of Nagoya's uniqueness, and the staff provided very courteous service. The Room was stylish, but I would appreciate it if the lighting were more functional. The size of the humidifier also felt insufficient. It would be great if the brightness of the lights could be adjusted bedside. I wanted some light nearby to read a book. There was a false fire alarm around 5 AM, and while there was an announcement in English at an extremely loud volume, it was hard to understand and quite frightening. Later on, there was information in Japanese about a false alarm on the 28th floor; however, I think it would be better if such announcements could be promptly made via phone or TV as well. This reminded me that we should also properly check emergency exits ourselves. Thank you for your continued hospitality!

    A bit disappointing

    This was our third stay. This time, we used the Dragons Room for my middle school grandson. However, the belt of the Dragons mascot doll was detached, and the baseball game on the desk was missing its ball, which left us a bit disappointed. Previously, I heard that using the Dragons Room came with a special seating arrangement during breakfast, but it seems this service has changed? This was another disappointment for us.

    Great view.

    This was my first stay. As it is a new Hotel, the Facility was excellent, clean, and comfortable. The lobby on the 24th floor provided a fantastic view from the guest rooms. The service left a very smart impression as well. I also enjoyed the sauna. I will stay again. Thank you!

    Nagoya Trip

    The hotel is new and clean everywhere. It is very close to Sakae Station, and even though it was raining that day, I could go out without getting wet. There are plenty of outlets, and the bath and toilet are separate, allowing for a relaxing bath. I stayed here for an event, so I couldn't visit the sauna, but I would love to stay at this hotel again when I come back to Nagoya. The price is also reasonable, which is greatly appreciated. It’s a very nice hotel. Thank you!

    Iconic Stay

    Iconic Midosuji is my favorite Hotel, and since I was visiting Nagoya, I stayed here for the first time. I was worried due to many critical Reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Iconic Stay. Before check-in, I had lunch at Shunju, and during the night view hours, I visited BAR Ao. Both were incredibly delicious with excellent service. The breakfast at the all-day dining wasn’t extensive in variety but featured carefully selected dishes that were very tasty. The inclusion of sparkling wine and tea brewed from loose leaves in a pot instead of tea bags showed thoughtful attention to detail and was delightful.

    Standard Business Hotel

    The photos on the website made the Hotel look high-grade, so I had high expectations, but it was average overall. Since it opened last year (?), it has a calm atmosphere. I was a bit surprised by the low lighting in the Hotel, but I got used to it quickly. It took some time to get to the reception on the 24th floor because elevators were slow and felt a bit maze-like. Amenities were minimal, and there were no cosmetics provided. The Room felt cramped with just enough space for the bed; there was no closet, and the refrigerator was wall-mounted with space for three bottles. There was no room service available, so I couldn’t have a late-night meal. The nearby dining area also closed early. The breakfast buffet had a limited selection, making Multiple Night Stays challenging in terms of variety. Overall, it’s a clean Business Hotel.

    No body lotion, only...

    No body lotion, only two face towels for two people, no bathrobes, and no dressing area. It would have been appreciated if the staff had reminded us about the parking ticket and discount during checkout.

    Beautiful night view

    Dim lighting, elevator delays.

    The overall lighting was dim, making smudges and stains more noticeable, which gave the impression of uncleanliness. It made me question whether the cleaning was thorough. Using the elevator required two transfers to reach the ground floor, and waiting for the elevator took so long that it took nearly 10 minutes to get from my room to breakfast. Even though I don't smoke, I was forced to sign a pledge not to smoke in the room. I'm not sure if this condition was mentioned during the Reservation process, but it didn't leave a good impression. Additionally, some Facilities were overly unique—like a TV coming out of the wall—which felt unnecessary and confusing. However, breakfast was very delicious! I would definitely like to enjoy breakfast here again.

    The night view was beautiful.

    We stayed in a Corner Twin Room, and the night view was stunning. The weather was also great. The room was compact and well-organized, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. It became a wonderful memory of traveling with my mother.

    The in-room wear pro...

    The in-room wear provided was quite small, and when I inquired at the front desk, I was told there was only one size available. It barely fit me at 160 cm and 50 kg, so I wondered how it would work for men. However, when my friend who checked in earlier returned from the sauna, they were wearing a much looser outfit, making me question if there really was only one size. Upon checking out, I mentioned this to the front desk and was informed that a different size might have been mixed in during cleaning but that they officially only offer one size. While the meals were delicious and the facility clean, I found the front desk's response concerning. Bringing your own pajamas is recommended.

    The layout of the Room is...

    This was my second stay. This time, I stayed in a Corner Twin Room. Upon entering the room, there was a hallway-like design with the bath and sink on either side. Opening the door revealed a view through two large windows beyond the beds. The view was fantastic. For some reason, there was a toilet oddly placed in the room. Perhaps due to fewer walls, the TV was positioned next to the bed. There were no bedside lights or outlets near the pillows. The sink area was too dim for makeup application, and there wasn’t even a makeup mirror provided. Amenities were minimal, so it felt questionable to classify this as a luxury hotel.

    If you're in Sakae, this is the one.

    A revisit after one year If you're staying in Sakae, this is the top choice. The parking lot offers 24-hour pricing, so shopping before and after your stay is fine. However, even on weekdays, the parking lot was crowded. There are many monthly rental spaces, so during busy periods, you might not be able to park. Compared to a year ago, the speed of serving the selectable breakfast dish has improved but still took some time. It would be better if it were a bit faster. No complaints except for the manual toilet lid. Access from the parking lot and to the underground mall is extremely convenient. It would be great if there were an option to select room views when making a reservation. It was a very pleasant stay. Thank you!

    Second-time guest

    I stayed here for the first time a month ago and was so impressed that I decided to return. It was amazing this time as well! Compared to a twin room at a Business Hotel, it's only about 8,000 yen more expensive, but the quality is incredible!!

    New Discoveries

    As mentioned in the reviews, the hallways and elevators are dimly lit, making them feel even darker when coming in from the bright outdoors. It was a bit challenging to figure out how to navigate through the facilities, but the night view was absolutely beautiful. It would be great if at least the outer curtain blinds were automatic.

    Hotel in the Chunichi Building

    The Chūnichi Building has been renovated and now includes a hotel, so I decided to stay there! Unfortunately, the night view wasn't great due to the rain, but the staff were very attentive, and I had a pleasant stay. I was able to enjoy meals within the building, making my time comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and having sparkling wine available was a nice touch—it's rare to see alcohol offered at breakfast! I ended up eating and drinking more than usual in the morning. I would definitely stay here again if I have another opportunity!

    Stayed for 2 nights ...

    Stayed for 2 nights to celebrate her birthday. I planned a surprise and consulted with the staff in advance, who responded very kindly and helped make the surprise a success! The view from the room window was amazing, making it a truly fulfilling trip. Thank you so much! I will definitely stay here again when I visit Nagoya!

    Rooms with unique character

    - The gap beside the bed was too narrow, making it inconvenient. To adjust the blinds or retrieve items placed near the headboard, I had to walk on the bed. - There is no power switch near the headboard, so to turn off the lights before sleeping, I had to walk on the bed and use a wall switch located near my feet. Additionally, although there is a small side table by the headboard that moves back and forth for some reason, there was a significant amount of dust underneath it. It seems like housekeeping might not be aware that this table can move. - Regarding the "tea canister" sink unit mentioned in reviews, I had prepared myself but found it even more peculiar than expected. The mirror is small and cannot be adjusted; shorter women or children likely can't see themselves in it at all. With only a strong spotlight shining directly from above and an overall dim environment, shadows fall on your face making your reflection look eerie—like something out of a horror movie—and applying makeup becomes difficult. There’s also an inexplicably placed stool next to this "canister," but it's too tall for sitting and too small for placing items on; I ended up pushing it into the bathroom as it was just in my way. - Overall, there’s very little space to place personal belongings like watches or rings you’ve taken off, hotel keys, or small luggage—the table quickly fills up leaving no room for work tasks either. There are no outlets near this table either; instead, there’s one outlet at the foot of the bed which forced me to move my laptop-laden table closer to use power from there while spreading documents across my bed just so I could get some work done somehow! On top of that confusion extended elsewhere: where should one plug in/use appliances like Balmuada kettles? Where should you sit comfortably watching TV?     Overall, the place felt dark and confusing. The locations of the smoking room and vending machines were unclear. Room information was only available by scanning a QR code for confirmation. The water dispenser in the sauna did not work. While the atmosphere was nice, many things were very difficult to understand...
