    Outstanding hospitality

I’m sorry for the late review, but thank you very much for providing such a wonderful night. The hot spring bath in the Room was incredibly soothing, and I ended up soaking in it many times. Above all, the Accommodation’s main highlight—the meal—far exceeded my expectations in both flavor and presentation, and I was truly satisfied. Not only was everything delicious, but it was the first time I’ve ever felt that eating could be this much fun. I was genuinely moved from the bottom of my heart. Partway through the meal, my chronic condition suddenly worsened and I had to excuse myself; thank you again for kindly bringing the final dessert to my Room—I would like to express my sincere gratitude here once more. This is an Accommodation I absolutely want to return to. I’m really looking forward to the day I can visit again.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

I stayed here with my daughter for a birthday trip. Just as the Reviews said, each dish was carefully prepared—everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and we were truly satisfied. The welcome sweets in our Room and the dessert pudding were also handmade by the chef and unbelievably good. The semi-open-air bath in our Room was wonderfully relaxing, with a proper washing area, so we could easily enjoy the Onsen again and again. The original shampoo and conditioner were so good I wanted to buy them to take home. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept soundly until morning. Above all, I was deeply impressed by the hospitality of the staff. Everyone was warm and attentive, and thanks to their heartfelt service we had such a pleasant stay. With their wonderful smiles and thoughtfulness, we were able to spend an unforgettable birthday—it was an incredibly satisfying trip. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

The seafood dishes are especially outstanding.

This was my second visit. I had a relaxing stay in a spacious detached guesthouse with a private Onsen. The Shuttle Service from the station was much appreciated. Meals are served in a private dining room, so even solo travelers can feel at ease. At dinner, the large head served with the “Kinmedai shabu-shabu” was later prepared as “kabuto-ni” for breakfast the next morning, which was a wonderful touch. I heard the head chef has changed since my last visit, but everything was truly delicious. I was also happy to be served tea at the end of the meal in a teacup with an autumn cherry blossom pattern matching my Room, “Cosmos.” Breakfast included sashimi, simmered fish, and grilled fish—perfect for someone like me who loves seafood. The proprietress and all staff were very thoughtful and attentive; thank you for taking such great care of me.

At last, my long-held wish has come true.

A few years ago, I stayed at “Izu no Umi” and was extremely satisfied. Ever since this place opened, I’d been hoping to stay here when the chance came—and at last, it did. This trip to Izu wasn’t about sightseeing nearby; the purpose was simply “staying at Izu no Hana.” The Facility, amenities, and Room were thoroughly cleaned and felt fresh, comfortable, and spotless. As for amenities (in the sense of toiletries), they didn’t bother me at all. I’m not sure how my wife felt (she didn’t seem dissatisfied), so I’ll refrain from rating that. For the bath, we used the private bath early from 15:30. The view of Izu Oshima from there was wonderful. If we have another chance to stay, I’d love to use a Room in the main building. The in-room bath in Annex B is slightly small, but more than spacious enough for one person. Since you can open and close the window, it works well as a semi-open-air bath that can be fully closed during colder seasons. The meals were just as excellent as when we stayed at “Umi no Hana” before—we enjoyed luxurious seafood in a private dining room and were very satisfied. If I had to mention one small point: dinner start times were only 17:30 or 18:00, so it would have been nice to have a slightly later option. The hospitality and service struck a perfect balance—not overly attentive, but more than sufficient where needed. I’m left-handed and hold chopsticks with my left hand; at breakfast the next morning, they had already set them out for a left-handed person. That kind of thoughtful detail made me smile without thinking. This trip—“staying at Izu no Hana”—became a truly wonderful memory. It’s not somewhere we can visit casually due to the distance, so I don’t know when we’ll be able to come again—but it’s definitely an Accommodation we’d love to return to!

    Highly satisfied

We relaxed in the open-air bath in our Room, and every dish was delicious and carefully prepared. The splendid turban shell and fresh sashimi paired perfectly with drinks, and we truly enjoyed it all. All of the staff were friendly and attentive with warm smiles, which made us feel very welcome. We didn’t use the private open-air bath this time because the timing didn’t work out, but next time we’d like to check in earlier and enjoy it.

    The best within reach

My second visit was last November in autumn, so this time I headed back to Izu hoping to come in early summer. Both my first stay the year before last and my second stay last year were wonderful, but this visit surpassed them yet again. The first time I stayed in Annex Building A, the previous time—thanks to your kindness when a cancellation opened up—I stayed in the main building’s special Room with the No. 1 view, and this time I stayed in Annex Building B. I’ve now tried all three types of Rooms (laugh). Every Room is truly relaxing and wonderful, and this time, with the season at its best and great weather as well, soaking in the semi-open-air bath was incredible. And the meals were even more outstanding than ever. On my first visit there was a different head chef, but since my previous stay, the former head chef of your sister property “Izu no Umi” has been showcasing his skills as head chef here at “Izu no Hana.” Last time I thoroughly enjoyed the large, thick-cut kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) shabu-shabu that I had also loved at Izu no Umi. This time, I had seen another guest write that during a Multiple Night Stay they had kinmedai shabu-shabu on the first day and mizore hot pot on the next—and this time that mizore hot pot was the main dish. The broth of the mizore hot pot—with grated daikon scattered like tiny flowers—was so exceptionally delicious that I tried my best to finish every last bit, but ended up leaving a little… And both before and after it, each dish was truly elaborate; everything was beautiful down to the tableware; it all tasted amazing—to the point that I even told our server, “If it were my last meal, this is what I’d want to eat.” Last time it being autumn meant matsutake chawanmushi; this time it was eel chawanmushi—and it surpassed what had previously been my top favorite elsewhere to become number one of all time for me. It was so good that I wanted just that chawanmushi served as a full bowl rather than part of a course—but considering how delicious the mizore hot pot was too, maybe having it as a course really is best (laugh). Every visit comes with truly superb food, but what makes “Izu no Hana” so special above all is still the smiles of everyone working here—starting with Okami-san. Thoughtful care in every detail; clean and comfortable Rooms; genuinely delicious feasts; and wonderful smiles. Including things like Shuttle Service to/from the station, it’s both surprising and deeply appreciated that you offer all of this at such a price… The phrase from my title—“the finest within reach”—is exactly what I felt again through this stay. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much for taking such great care of me.

As expected from an Accommodation renowned for its cuisine

I’ve eaten a lot of different foods, and I used to think Ryokan meals were pretty standard—but this place was different. I think the Reviews are highly rated for good reason. I could really feel the care from the head chef and everyone in the kitchen in both dinner and breakfast. The portion size, quality, and attentiveness of the serving staff were better than any Ryokan I’ve stayed at. Everything was excellent, but what surprised me most was how high-quality the desserts were. It goes without saying that the main dishes were delicious, but both dinner and breakfast desserts were truly amazing. This might sound rude, but you can taste that everything is properly made (and not pre-made). You can tell it’s all carefully handmade (the dishes as well). The Room isn’t ultra-luxurious, but it’s impeccably clean with nothing to complain about. In addition to the bottled drinks in the fridge, there was also chilled water stocked at all times, so I don’t think you need to buy any beforehand. That was another big plus. The proprietress and all staff members provided outstanding hospitality and service—the best I’ve experienced so far. If I had to point out anything negative: there’s a gap in the Room curtains, so once it gets bright outside, light comes in and I feel like it wakes me up. Also, I would have liked an extra box of tissues (though most people would probably have enough—I just have allergies). I’d also be happy if there were a small humidifier in the bedroom. The private open-air bath was spacious and had two washing stations, and they even had chilled water there too—it made me feel cared for wherever I went. The thoughtful touches and especially the quality of the food were truly exceptional. I will definitely come again.

Delicious cuisine, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality

I had been looking forward to staying here because of its reputation for delicious cuisine, but after the journey I arrived at the Ryokan feeling too unwell to eat and became worried. To recover, I requested a massage, and it was exactly what I needed—during the treatment my appetite returned. Thanks also to the staff kindly adjusting our dinner time later, I was able to truly enjoy the meal. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding, with fresh ingredients and refined seasoning. From the Room we could see Izu Oshima, and there was also an open-air bath; honestly, I regretted not making a Reservation for more than one night. There are sightseeing spots nearby such as Mount Omuro as well, so I promised myself I would definitely return. The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was warm—this is an exceptional Accommodation.

    I always stay at Acc...

I always stay at Accommodations rated 4.5 or higher on IKYU.com, and I also refer to Reviews on various travel sites. There are all kinds of Reviews—high ratings, low ratings, and even clearly malicious ones—but I feel that comments from guests who use IKYU tend to be more accurate. Izuhana was an Accommodation exactly as reputed.\n\nUnfortunately, we arrived in the rain, but although the team were mostly young staff members, I could truly feel their high level of hospitality—from the check-in service to the thoughtful words offered naturally during our meal. It really lives up to its reputation as a culinary inn.\n\nThey say tableware is a stage that reflects the season, and I was captivated by the many tasteful pieces used throughout. The fresh wasabi served with the local fish sashimi had small cuts in the stem so it would be easier to grate—an impressive example of the chef’s meticulous consideration. The chawanmushi made without any unnecessary ingredients other than dried koto-kinko was exquisite. Needless to say, the kinmedai shabu-shabu was outstanding; and even the specially cultivated Koshihikari rice grown with natural spring water and the pickles were a feast in themselves—the daikon cut into different parts for contrasting textures and the crisp hakusai were particularly memorable.\n\nI also sensed the head chef’s dedication in the dessert: seasonal fruit and a chiffon cake made with Iyokan orange, a specialty of Izu. Overall, this is an Accommodation where you can feel both the chefs’ craftsmanship and refinement, as well as that of every staff member.

It was 5 stars or more!

I stayed on the “Spiny Lobster Feast Plan.” True to the Accommodation’s name, the cuisine was beautifully presented and delicious. With each course, they replaced the entire tea set with fresh hot tea, ensuring I could always enjoy it warm, which I truly appreciated. The Room was very clean, and the amenities were well stocked. The bath is a semi-open-air bath. At first, some guests may find it a bit lukewarm, but if you call the front desk, they will promptly raise the temperature. It may be a good idea to check the temperature after check-in. I can see why this Accommodation receives such high ratings from guests. I would love to stay again if I have another opportunity.

    It really was great!

This was our second stay, and it’s still a wonderful Accommodation. It was a bit disappointing that the closet was left wide open when we were shown to our Room, and the Room hadn’t been warmed up… but it was within the “these things happen” range. The in-room bath feels amazing, and above all, the meals are outstanding. This time, the simmered golden eye snapper hot pot with grated daikon was incredibly delicious. We really wanted to finish every last drop of the broth, but our stomachs just couldn’t manage it… Breakfast was also delicious. Most of all, the warm hospitality from all the staff is exceptional. My husband is already saying he wants to go again—definitely again! We will certainly be back. Thank you very much.

We were able to relax and had a great time.

Thank you for picking us up by car at the station. The Room had a calm atmosphere, and everything from dinner to breakfast was delicious. The seasoning and ingredients were excellent, especially the fresh seafood and vegetables. Everyone at the Accommodation was kind, and we were able to relax. The bed was also very comfortable. The view of the sea and Oshima from the window was wonderful, and with the great weather, the sunrise was beautiful. The open-air bath in the Room was at a perfect temperature, and we enjoyed soaking in it. We also appreciated being dropped off at the station on our way back.

    The review was helpful.

Thank you for the delicious cuisine and warm hospitality. We were able to spend a relaxing and leisurely time. As soon as we arrived at the accommodation, we enjoyed the onsen. The comfortable temperature of the onsen was perfect even for someone like me who doesn't enjoy long baths—it was truly wonderful water. The fresh and delicious dishes, thoughtfully prepared to be easy to eat for elderly guests, exceeded our expectations and left us fully satisfied—thank you for the feast! Breakfast was also delightful. When the seasons change, we look forward to visiting again to enjoy the onsen and delicious cuisine once more. Thank you very much for your care during our stay!

    Accommodation with a Sunrise View

I love Onsen and go almost every month. Among them, Izu no Hana is my favorite accommodation, and I have stayed there multiple times. This time, I chose Izu no Hana to celebrate my husband's birthday. Thanks to the thoughtful gesture of the proprietress, we received luxurious amenities as a gift, which was truly touching. Her warm and kind smile, along with the bright smiles and excellent service of the staff, made our stay very pleasant. The private bath with a stunning ocean view offers an incredible sense of openness. Watching warblers play among the nearby cherry blossoms and weeping plum trees was also very soothing. The cuisine is delicate and delicious in every way. This time, the highlight was an impressive large golden-eye snapper (Kinmedai). We enjoyed thick slices prepared as shabu-shabu for dinner and savored its refined flavor in kabutoni (simmered head) style for breakfast—an experience that left us completely satisfied. The room's bath allowed me to relax with a leisurely half-body soak. Witnessing the sunrise over Sagami Bay from our room became a precious memory for us.

    Ready to visit anytime.

I visited for the first time to relieve my year-end fatigue. From the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell, I was beyond satisfied and already want to return even though it's been a week since my stay. The clean room, comfortable Onsen, and delicious meals were all perfect. Watching the sunrise from the Onsen at the beginning of spring gave me a great start to the year. Even after returning home, my family keeps saying how much we want to go back to Izu no Hana (laughs). Above all, I was deeply touched by the heartfelt hospitality of the hostess and staff. Thank you so much! I will definitely visit again!!

    Cuisine Worthy of Its Name

The dinner was truly exceptional, as expected from an accommodation renowned for its cuisine. Each dish showcased a dedication to quality ingredients and meticulous preparation. Even compared to other ryokans in the same price range or higher, this level of quality is rare. The dining room is a completely private space, not just a semi-private area with partitions, allowing for a relaxed experience. The hospitality was also impressive. This time, we stayed in Building B. While there are short and gentle stone steps leading to the main building where the front desk and dining rooms are located, it does provide a sense of seclusion. However, Building A might be more suitable for elderly guests. The room's private bath had excellent temperature control and offered a comfortable bathing experience. Overall, we found an excellent accommodation here. We look forward to visiting again in another season!

    Exceptional cuisine and outstanding service!

I wanted to relax in an Onsen and enjoy delicious cuisine, so I read numerous reviews of accommodations before finally deciding on this one. Every review highly praised the food and hospitality, which raised my expectations significantly (laughs), but they exceeded those expectations wonderfully. During our 2-night stay, from dinner on the first day to breakfast on the third day, every meal was truly delicious. The seasoning and ingredients were excellent, and the dishes were visually appealing as well. The kinmedai (golden eye snapper) was particularly delightful—on the first day it was served as shabu-shabu, and on the second day as mizore nabe; both preparations offered unique flavors that left a lasting impression. Additionally, the hostess's thoughtful gestures during dinner made us feel very warm and welcomed. It was such a wonderful accommodation where we could spend a relaxing and lovely time that I would definitely like to visit again!

Accommodation for the Ultimate Relaxation Experience

A truly outstanding accommodation - Five stars are not enough! - Revisiting confirmed its excellence.

Last summer, I was deeply impressed by the exceptional hospitality, thoughtful arrangements, and above all, the beautiful and delicious cuisine. Over a year has passed since then, but I decided to revisit for another wonderful stay. I was slightly worried that my expectations might be too high after being so moved last time, but my concerns were unfounded. Once again, I experienced outstanding hospitality from the staff and hostess, meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of the accommodation, a refreshing open-air bath (rotenburo), and exquisite meals that were both visually stunning and delicious. This time, due to a sudden cancellation opening up availability, I was kindly upgraded to a room in the main building with breathtaking views. Thanks to this upgrade, I enjoyed stunning sunsets and sunrises over Sagami Bay with its vast sky as a backdrop. The thoughtful touches included not only fresh flowers arranged in the room as shown in photos but also prepared writing boxes. The bathroom amenities offered two types each for both bathing areas and sinks so guests could choose according to their preference. The handmade chestnut-infused chocolate truffle served alongside the welcome drink—crafted by your head chef—was among the best chocolates I've ever had. Despite being an expert in Japanese cuisine (washoku), their skill extended even into Western-style desserts—a truly delightful surprise! Each dish was beautifully presented with intricate details on elegant tableware while tasting absolutely divine; we thoroughly savored every bite. True to its name "Hana" (flower) of Izu—the table centerpieces featured floral designs along w/ washbasins adorned similarly; hallways displayed lovely paintings or delicate live flower arrangements throughout rooms/corridors alike creating harmonious ambiance overall! Private baths offering scenic views paired perfectly w/ soothing music playing softly nearby dining spaces further enhanced total experience making it unforgettable altogether! Baths themselves filled generously using gentle Onsen water felt luxurious especially large ceramic tubs providing ultimate relaxation despite personal preference leaning towards stone-based ones previously yet these thick premium-grade ceramics proved ideal alternative instead! Shuttle Service provided between Izukogen Station added convenience allowing enjoyable conversations during rides enhancing journey itself whether arriving/departing moments equally memorable alongside detailed explanations shared meal times elevating appreciation culinary artistry involved therein beyond measure altogether once more reaffirming decision returning annually henceforth remains steadfastly cherished intention moving forward undoubtedly!

Very satisfied. It was an accommodation I would like to visit again.

We booked 2 rooms for two families, including my parents. My father has difficulty walking, and we were concerned about the stairs, but during the prior Check Reservation process, you kindly arranged a room closest to the main building, which was very helpful. The name "Accommodation of Cuisine" truly lived up to its reputation; every dish was elegant and delicious. During dinner, my father felt slightly unwell, but we deeply appreciated the staff's concern and thoughtful care. Thankfully, his condition improved by the next day, and he enjoyed a hearty breakfast on the second morning. The view from our room, Onsen experience, and overall comfort exceeded our expectations. Despite it being a holiday period, we found your pricing quite reasonable compared to others. It was an Accommodation we'd love to visit again if given another opportunity. Thank you so much!

    It was relaxing.

Amidst the busyness of life, I chose this accommodation to relax in the onsen and enjoy delicious cuisine. Despite the light rain, I could enjoy a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean from my room. The space was comfortable and relaxing, with excellent amenities. As a place renowned for its cuisine, both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying. The splendid kinmedai shabu-shabu and fresh spiny lobster sashimi had delightful textures that I thoroughly enjoyed. For breakfast, the miso soup made with spiny lobster broth and simmered kinmedai head were equally impressive. It was a joy to savor local ingredients prepared without waste in such delicious ways. The staff's service was perfectly balanced—neither overbearing nor too reserved—making it very pleasant overall.

After the intense heat subsided, I resumed my solo journey and visited for the first time. This is a quiet place surrounded by beautiful, lush bamboo. The room overlooking Oshima was peaceful with only the sound of insects—truly soothing. The cuisine I had been looking forward to was mesmerizing, showcasing the chef's artistic sense. The combination of tableware, seasonal ingredients, and local fish was outstanding; I savored every bite with gratitude. Near the entrance were stunning fresh flowers that caught my eye instantly and a captivating painting by "Inoue Bunta," which left me spellbound. The proprietress and all staff members treated me with heartfelt hospitality that deeply moved me. Their dedication to valuing guests was palpable throughout my stay. I hope to return for another chance at enjoying the private bath—thank you so much!

It was an accommodation we chose with limited options for a trip decided on short notice. Although we were a bit anxious, it turned out to be an excellent accommodation beyond our expectations. From start to finish, the hospitality was incredibly attentive, making it a perfect trip. The meals were plentiful and absolutely delicious. Being in a private room allowed us to enjoy them at our own pace. Additionally, the proximity of the dining area to our Room was very convenient. A true "Accommodation of Cuisine." A secluded accommodation with only 7 rooms, offering a stunning ocean view. I enjoyed a relaxing time with my mother, soaking in the room's private bath and savoring meals in a private dining space in the main building.
