    70th Birthday Celebration

    We stayed here to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday. The night before, we camped at Hado Cape and experienced a frightening thunderstorm, but by morning the rain had cleared, leaving us with a refreshing start to the day. Arriving early, we were kindly allowed to park our car and went for a walk. Check-in was done in the Room, and we enjoyed staying in a top-floor Room with great views and a semi-open-air bath that allowed us to fully relax. During dinner, there was a ceremony for my wife's 70th birthday celebration, creating wonderful memories for us. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and very satisfying. With an 11:00 check-out time, we could enjoy the open-air bath after breakfast at our leisure. We would love to come back again if possible! Thank you to all the staff!

The staff's hospitality was excellent, the room was spacious and clean, and each meal was carefully prepared to perfection—simply outstanding. The Onsen lived up to the reputation of Ureshino Onsen.     An accommodation you'll want to visit again!

    In January this year, we celebrated my 91-year-old father's birthday with my parents and my spouse, and my father was so delighted that he declared, "I'll come back for next year's birthday!" However, I couldn't wait a whole year to enjoy the onsen and meals again. Using my mother's 86th birthday and our wedding anniversary as an excuse, we brought my parents along for another stay. This time, we enjoyed our favorite wine using the wine cellar and glasses provided in the room while feeling the summer night breeze after a relaxing bath. The dinner was perfectly balanced in flavor and portion size for us. The highlight of breakfast was the onsen tofu prepared in a unique way that can't be found elsewhere—it was absolutely delicious. After dinner, there was a surprise celebration for my mother's birthday. When leaving the accommodation, staff kindly said to her, "Please visit us again in good health to celebrate your 88th milestone." This heartfelt gesture moved our entire family deeply. My father then humorously declared once more with joy: "I'll stay healthy for two more years to visit again," which made us laugh while feeling touched by his words. Thanks to the warm hospitality of your staff (and perhaps some sudden pollen allergies), we left wiping tears from our eyes. We look forward to celebrating my father's 92nd birthday with you next time!

    A Trip for Two with My Daughter

    The review is a bit late. Although there were some minor troubles, I was able to enjoy a relaxing and fun onsen life with my married daughter for the first time in decades. I love onsens and stayed at Ureshino Onsen last year, but the accommodation had many stairs, the meals were not delicious, and it was quite challenging. This year, I decided on this place after seeing it on TV, and it was absolutely the right choice. The meals were delicious, and both the indoor bath and large public bath had wonderful water. The only regret was that I couldn't receive a massage because the reservation wasn't made properly; however, I was very pleased with how the staff handled things afterward. Thank you very much! I look forward to staying again if we have another opportunity!

    Annual Summer Vacation in Kyushu

    For six consecutive years since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have traveled to Kyushu by car during summer vacation, and this time we stayed at Ureshino Onsen for the first time. The facility is modern, with three spots on the first floor offering chilled Ureshino tea and a coffee machine. The room's refrigerator is inclusive, so despite the intense heat, staying hydrated was no issue at all, making our stay very comfortable. Meals were served in private rooms, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the delicious dishes. The room's private onsen bath with natural hot spring water was also extremely comfortable with excellent water quality—truly satisfying!

    Thank you for your warm hospitality.

    We stayed at the accommodation for our wedding anniversary trip. It was our first time staying here, but we were grateful for the comfortable hospitality in every aspect. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we were deeply moved by the unexpected surprise from all the staff. It became a memory of a lifetime. Thank you so much.     The Best Gift for Your Parents

    This was our first family trip in 50 years, also celebrating my mother's birthday. For my mother, who has difficulty walking, a wheelchair and a bath chair were provided, and kimono hangers were prepared in the room after noticing we were wearing kimonos. The thoughtful attention to detail and the warm greetings from the staff made our stay very pleasant. The gentle tones of the interior design throughout the facility, as well as the arrangement of the guest rooms and onsen, were wonderful. Among all these experiences, what left the deepest impression was the cuisine. Along with the personality of the head chef, it made us want to return immediately to this accommodation. Although I thought this might be my mother's last trip due to her health concerns, she now says she wants to stay healthy enough to visit again. It was truly an unforgettable experience for both her and me. Thank you very much!

    35th Anniversary

    We visited for our wedding anniversary trip. Although we often traveled to Kyushu for Onsen tours, this was our first time in Saga. We fell in love with this accommodation at first sight on social media and planned the trip specifically to visit it. The hospitality exceeded our expectations, allowing us to have a truly pleasant time. The staff's impeccable manners, the natural hot spring water, the room's design, and their eco-friendly initiatives were all outstanding. What stood out most was their strong "love for Saga" (laughs). The cuisine featured ingredients sourced within an 80-kilometer radius of Ureshino, and personally, I believe it's worth visiting Saga just to enjoy these dishes. Even after returning home, we can't stop talking about this place together. We hope to visit again if we get the chance!

    The Ultimate Relaxation Accommodation

    We stayed here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. From the time of making the Reservation, the thoughtful attention to detail made us look forward to the day. Often, we visit with high expectations only for it to end up being just average, but this place exceeded all imagination! We truly experienced an authentic all-inclusive stay. The head chef's thoughtfulness and the surprise from the staff who attended us made it a memorable experience for both my daughter and me—we kept saying how amazing it was. This is definitely an Accommodation where you’d want to stay for two nights instead of just one. We've decided to make this our regular spot whenever we visit Ureshino Onsen!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    The focus on the onsen, facility, and tea was appreciated, but if guests are invited to the lounge, it would be nice to have items like hand towels or welcome tea. The meals were disappointing. While the attention to detail is understood, the main dishes such as meat and fish lacked flavor and had to be eaten with yuzu pepper for some taste. However, the later tea service and onsen were excellent. Since Kyushu has many great accommodations, I hope for further improvements.

    Highly satisfied.

    I visited Ureshino Onsen after a business trip to Hakata. If the entire West Kyushu Shinkansen line were open, access would be even better, and it would surely become more popular. During my all-inclusive stay, I experienced a tea ceremony. Using the same tea leaves, I enjoyed three different brewing methods, each offering a unique and delicious flavor. With special tea utensils, I savored rich and aromatic teas. The Hotel provided cold-brewed tea throughout the premises, and in the Room, five types of tea leaves were available for me to brew using the methods taught during the ceremony. It was such a relaxing experience to enjoy tea this way—it was truly memorable. My wife also loves tea and ended up buying too many varieties as souvenirs! The hotel uses carefully selected ingredients sourced within 88 kilometers (hence its name "Yadoya Hachijuhachi"), allowing us to fully enjoy exquisite dishes featuring Kyushu's seafood, mountain produce, and exceptional Saga beef—a truly satisfying dining experience. After some rest, we visited the bar where we tried refreshing cocktails like "Ureka," which incorporated tea flavors along with soda-based drinks infused with tea—everything was delightful! Please give them a try. In our Room’s sauna equipped with an automatic löyly system releasing aromatic steam infused with tea scents—it was an incredible sensory experience surrounded by soothing aromas of tea. The refrigerator in our Room was stocked with fruits as well as cheese and ham that paired perfectly with drinks—every detail felt luxurious. This trip turned out to be incredibly fulfilling—I’d love to visit again someday! It was absolutely wonderful; I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself!

    77th Birthday Celebration

    We stayed as a group of five, including children, to celebrate a 77th birthday. We gathered from different locations. Since there was no room for five people, we used two rooms. The facility is new, and the quality of the onsen water was truly excellent—it made our skin feel smooth. It was hot outside, so we were able to relax at the accommodation, which made my mother very happy. I didn’t participate because I had children with me, but my mother and husband said they really enjoyed the tea ceremony experience. Having plenty of tea available within the accommodation was also a nice touch. We discovered many delicious teas during our stay. The train journey itself—whether it was Kamome Relay or Shinkansen—was full of amusing moments as we transferred at Takeo Onsen Station and enjoyed family time on board. However, what surprised us most was how cost-effective this accommodation is! The concept of sourcing ingredients within an 88-kilometer radius is unique and great for children's food education too! Next time, we plan to stay in the annex building!

    Ruined entirely by the meal.

    The cleanliness of the facility, the quality of the onsen water, the temperature of the private room bath, and all services were excellent! I thought I would definitely return. ...Until dinner... First, my companion received condiments for sashimi, but I did not. Mistakes happen, but this is unacceptable for an accommodation costing 100,000 yen per night for two people. From here, things started to go downhill—the sukiyaki and main dish fillet were bland with no flavor or a burnt bitter taste; portions were extremely small. Additionally, the service level was poor—dishes weren’t cleared after finishing meals and staff didn’t respond even when we pressed the bell. The yuzu pepper placed on the table from the start seemed intended for sashimi but came with no explanation. What exactly makes this a "premium kaiseki" meal? Such a wonderful accommodation was completely ruined by its food.

    Cozy Accommodation

    A truly relaxing and wonderful Ryokan. Even though it was unfortunately raining, the garden that suited the weather, the semi-open-air bath, and the harmonious furnishings are beyond words to describe. It feels like one of those rare accommodations where you appreciate its charm even more as time passes after your stay. I hope to visit again someday, and I look forward to your hospitality then.

    It was wonderful! I would love to stay again.

    I stayed with my mother and my 4-year-old child. The place was clean, and all the staff were kind, allowing us to have a wonderful time. During the tea ceremony, my son initially planned to just observe, but the staff flexibly accommodated his interest, and he was able to enjoy delicious tea as well. My mother was especially delighted with the thoughtful hospitality, such as the drink service and having separate indoor wear and sleepwear prepared, saying it was "perfect attention to every detail."

    I made a Reservation...

    I made a Reservation without knowing it was a JR-affiliated Hotel. The Hotel is still new and clean, and the staff, many of whom are young, were very kind. It was nice to be able to walk around the facility in socks instead of slippers. The Room's bathroom had a Refa showerhead and a Dyson hairdryer, showing attention to detail. The meals were excellent, and the tea placed in various spots on the first floor was also very delicious.

    Thank you for staying with us for the third time.

    I had another enjoyable Onsen trip this time. The food was delicious and impressively well-prepared. The Onsen had a smooth texture, the room was clean, and the staff were all wonderful—this accommodation continues to excel in every aspect. I forgot my smartphone charger, but their thoughtful and excellent service truly stood out. Thank you very much!

    The facility was well-equipped, but...

    Previously, I stayed at Okuhita Onsen Umehibiki, also operated by JR, and had a wonderful experience. After two days of sightseeing in Amakusa, I decided to extend my trip and stay here. The facility was excellent; however, I felt the service did not match the price due to many inexperienced staff members who could not provide satisfactory guidance (details omitted). The cuisine, which seemed to focus on ingredients sourced within an 88-kilometer radius, was quite ordinary. The most delicious item was the breakfast bread; however, upon learning from the staff that it came from a manufacturer unrelated to Kyushu, I felt slightly disappointed. I stayed in a separate villa but found it inconvenient that there was no coffee set provided in the room at this price range.

    Beautiful Accommodation

    I stayed with my mother and 3-year-old daughter. The accommodation was very clean, and the young staff were genuinely pleasant and kind to my daughter. Since I had a child with me, I was a bit worried, but the private dining room allowed us to enjoy our meals without concern for others. There is also a kids' room, making it an ideal accommodation for families with children. The onsen in the room is available anytime, which is another great feature!

    It was a wonderful birthday.

    I had been wanting to visit ever since I saw the opening video, and I was thrilled to finally make it. All the staff were very pleasant, greeted us warmly, and made our stay truly enjoyable. The food was delicious, and the tea cocktails at the bar were also excellent. One night felt too short for such a wonderful experience. However, there are three points that caught my attention: 1. The bathrobe in the Room (or sauna bathrobe?) left black lint-like residue on my body after wearing it. 2. One of the take-home tumblers in the Room had some green powder-like substance inside and smelled like tea when opened. It made me wonder if a previous guest had used it for tea or if it wasn’t cleaned properly before being reused. As a result, I could only take one tumbler home—the other one was clean and perfect to bring back with me. 3. While enjoying my second drink at the tea bar in the evening, I noticed another guest eating something crunchy nearby; when we asked staff about it, they realized they had forgotten to serve us that item as well. Additionally, as a suggestion: It would be great if there were sauna towels provided in the Room’s sauna area along with mats already available there since it's designed for lying down comfortably inside! My husband wore his bathrobe while lying down repeatedly for about 10 minutes each time but ended up experiencing mild burns around his tailbone area which stayed red over several days afterward due lack proper protection against heat exposure directly onto skin surface during usage period itself. Despite these points mentioned above overall experience remained fantastic—thankful again looking forward returning soon future occasions ahead!

    The food was absolutely delicious!

    Both dinner and breakfast featured delicious ingredients sourced from within 88 kilometers in Kyushu. The meals were not only visually stunning but also thoughtfully prepared, with ample portions and variety that left both me and my parents completely satisfied! Since I am pregnant, they kindly adjusted the raw dishes for me, and everything was still incredibly tasty and satisfying. The complimentary Room drinks were also switched to non-alcoholic options, which showed great attention to detail and made us very happy. The Room was spotless down to every corner, with a large mirror that allowed my mother and me to sit side by side while doing our makeup together—such a lovely moment!

    It was a very nice accommodation.

    We stayed as a group of four women. Although we did not mention during the reservation that one of us had a birthday, the staff noticed from our dinner conversation and surprised us with a birthday arrangement. It was an unexpected and heartwarming gesture that created wonderful memories for us. This is truly an accommodation filled with thoughtful care in every aspect.     If you love green tea, don't miss out!!

    For our first trip to Saga, we stayed here for one night. Saga is known for its unique Ariake Sea mudflats and world-famous ceramics, but what I personally couldn't miss was Ureshino tea. Since unexpectedly losing my younger brother just before the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve started traveling around Japan in his memory. Although my daughter had recommended Saga before, it felt quite far away. However, I finally made it this time! Choosing this accommodation brought me immense joy—especially the cold tea stands placed at key spots like hallway corners and right in front of the elevator. You can refill your bottle from your room as many times as you like with different flavors of cold-brewed tea! The book library offers wonderful publications focused on Saga, and at the shop, you can purchase freshly harvested seasonal tea. The bar [Chazutsu] might feel a bit intimidating since you have to go further into a separate annex to find it—but it's absolutely worth visiting! Personally, I loved their green tea-infused Tanqueray gin cocktail (essentially a green-tea gin tonic). Our twin room with an onsen bath was incredibly comfortable and practical with amenities like a refrigerator, safe box, and closet space. For dinner's prix fixe menu: after much deliberation, I chose [Farm] B: early summer vegetables; [Eighty-Eight] A: sea bass; and [Main Dish] B: pike conger hot pot made with broth from its bones—all were exceptional! The Itoshima black pork was so tender that it could be mistaken for beef—it was divine! The recommended shochu mixed with green tea paired perfectly from appetizers like local sashimi (including kibinago) to every dish served. Breakfast featured traditional Japanese cuisine including freshly cooked rice in an earthenware pot—it was delightful! Their special roasted seaweed by Eighty-Eight impressed me so much that I bought some at their shop to enjoy back home while reminiscing about our stay. The onsen here is also drinkable; there’s even a corner on the first floor where guests are encouraged to try it on an empty stomach. This time around we enjoyed our room so much that we didn’t make it out to the large public bath—but next time for sure! Thank you very much for such a wonderful experience.

    Very satisfied

    We invited an elderly couple from Tokyo to this accommodation to celebrate their 80th birthday. Not only the facility but also the hospitality was excellent. They prepared a celebratory hat and vest for the occasion and even provided us with photos, for which we are very grateful. Both they and we as a couple were extremely satisfied. As shareholders, we will continue to support you in the future.

    Accommodation you'd want to visit again

    I stayed on a weekday. Perhaps because it was not crowded, my room was upgraded. The bath, room, meals, and service were all excellent. However, there were two disappointing points: one was that the cutlery and glasses in the room had dust on them, and the other was that the nozzles of the shampoo and body soap were clogged. It made me wonder if daily maintenance is not being done properly, which was a bit disappointing.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    The Hotel, being open for about 2 years, was very clean. The meals were luxurious and featured local ingredients from Kyushu, which was a nice touch. The staff were very polite and provided excellent service. Although the dressing room for the open-air bath and the sauna were a bit small, the bath itself had a charming atmosphere. Compared to the guest room bath, the temperature was slightly cooler. The loungewear was comfortable, and being able to walk barefoot inside the Hotel added to the experience. It was a relaxing escape from everyday life, and I would love to stay here again.

    The meals were too small, which was disappointing.

    The dinner portion was too small, which was disappointing. Having stayed at various Ryokan accommodations, this was the first time I encountered such a small amount, and I was quite surprised. Additionally, the taste did not seem particularly good either. The appetizer portions were significantly less than what was shown on the website. Moreover, there wasn’t anything suitable as a main dish. The ingredients were neither rare nor special, which was also disappointing. For breakfast, the grilled fish that I thought would be salmon turned out to be trout instead. The rice had too much moisture and wasn’t tasty either. I believe it would be better to improve both the quantity and quality of meals even if it means increasing the Accommodation Fee slightly. There are probably many complaints about meals already, so it must be tough for your staff members dealing with them directly—my sympathies go out to them!

    Wonderful Accommodation

    A variety of teas are available, and you can fill the in-room bottle (which you can take home) to enjoy them. Unlimited Black Mont Blanc ice cream is also offered. The in-room refrigerator contains alcohol, but when I was asked, "Do you drink alcohol?" and answered "No," they kindly replaced it with juice. This was my first experience of such service at an accommodation of this class. When using the private bath, they mentioned, "If you need more towels, we’ll bring new ones." This level of attentiveness was also a first for me at an accommodation of this class. While it’s common to expect that requests will be accommodated if made, I was deeply impressed by their proactive approach in offering assistance for everything. I requested a birthday cake to be prepared and received an unexpected celebration (I’ll keep the details a secret), which made me very happy! The Onsen is wonderful, the room is clean, and the food is delicious. I’ll definitely come back next year!
