Absolutely delighted with the finest hospitality

From the warm welcome to the heartfelt send-off, we were truly satisfied with the hospitality. With the carefully designed interior and a beautiful garden view, we could freely enjoy a variety of delicious Ureshino cold teas, which helped us forget the heat. Dinner was delicately prepared with deep flavors and was beautiful to look at; even my mother, who has visited Onsen all over The whole country, was deeply moved. The bath in our Room was also a continuously flowing Onsen, and it felt wonderful. All of the staff were genuinely kind, and their smiles were soothing as well.

    It was truly wonderful.

We stayed to celebrate my parents’ golden wedding anniversary and my father’s birthday. My parents were delighted and said they had a wonderful time. The warm moment everyone created when you brought in the birthday cake was especially memorable. Thank you very much.

    We had an amazing time.

This was an Accommodation I had wanted to stay at for a long time, and it exceeded my expectations. Everything was outstanding—from the Hotel atmosphere and meals to the staff’s warm hospitality, the special tea experience, the Room, and even the Onsen. I will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

    Relax

I took a solo trip to unwind from everyday fatigue. Last time I stayed with my family in the annex, but this time, since I was alone, I chose the main building. The Room atmosphere and meals were naturally more luxurious last time, but I was able to relax 충분ly in the main building as well, which was great. All of the staff were very pleasant. For the baths, I first went to the large public bath, and after that I fully enjoyed being able to quickly use the bath in my Room whenever I liked. The Shuttle Service to and from the station was also very helpful. I’d like to stay again on my own at my own pace.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

The staff were consistently courteous, which made us feel at ease. The large public bath and sauna are compact, but they were clean and enjoyable. The Room had a firm mat that made sleeping a bit uncomfortable, but otherwise it was very practical and spotless, and we were able to enjoy the Onsen as well. If I had to ask for one thing, having a yukata would have been convenient. The meals used good ingredients; however, there were a few dishes where the sauce didn’t pair well. Still, the tableware was lovely and the explanations were thorough. This Ryokan doesn’t have many Rooms, but it offered not only tea but also coffee; everything felt spacious and relaxing, and we also enjoyed that there is a bar. We would definitely like to return.

An Accommodation with a Taste of Tea

A pleasant fragrance filled the entrance and the entire Accommodation, and the staff’s warm smiles left me feeling truly satisfied. There were several spots where we could enjoy complimentary tea and water, which felt like a uniquely Ureshino-style welcome. The meals were thoughtfully prepared using local ingredients, and it made me glad I chose an Onsen Accommodation. However, while the samue were made of sturdy fabric and comfortable to wear, they felt a bit thick for sleeping; I wish there had been lighter sleepwear available.

    Highly satisfying

I visited Ureshino Onsen 15 years ago, and this was my second time. I had a hard time choosing an Accommodation, but it turned out to be the perfect choice. After a thorough explanation of the facilities, we were shown to our Room, which had a relaxing Japanese-style design while also being highly functional—it made me want to stay there forever. The meals were also excellent; I was very satisfied with the thoughtfully prepared dishes. The silky tofu was just as delicious as its reputation suggests. I was slightly concerned that the open-air bath was small and the washing area was narrow, but it wasn’t an issue since there is a bath in the Room. Overall, I was highly satisfied.

    We have safely welcomed spring.

Last January, the staff at Yasohachi celebrated my father’s 91st birthday, and he said, “We’ll come again next year.” But after a harsh, long summer his appetite declined, and a large shadow was found in his lung. The doctor told us, “It will be difficult for him to make it to spring…” Even so, he looked forward to spending his 92nd birthday at his beloved Onsen Accommodation, and we were able to celebrate his January birthday at Yasohachi. After we arrived, he happily enjoyed the in-room bath. To our surprise, he finished all of dinner, savored an early-morning bath as well—and then ate breakfast with ease. After breakfast, the staff kindly celebrated his birthday once again, and he declared longevity yet again: “We’ll be back next year!” Seeing the warm smiles of the staff who truly celebrated my father’s birthday moved me deeply—while at the same time I couldn’t stop crying as thoughts like “Not just next year… maybe not even spring…” ran through my mind. There are many Accommodations with excellent Facilities and cuisine, but I truly feel that Yasohachi is an Accommodation where the staff are outstanding not only as professionals but also as people. Once again everything was wonderful—the food and drinks; manju buns and ice bars; the tea provided in our Room and throughout the Facility; and even the tea-scented sauna. Above all, I am sincerely grateful that thanks to the “Yasohachi power” we received from everyone there, my father was able to welcome spring in good spirits—and rejoice at the birth of his great-grandchild whom he adores most.

Because I had high expectations, I was disappointed by how small the bath was. Not only the open-air bath, but also the changing area and washing area were far too cramped; it felt like the layout should have been designed with more space. The food was neither particularly good nor bad, but the sashimi had a strong odor, and having items like salmon included made me question the overall quality.

    It was a luxurious stay.

To show my appreciation for my mother, who always supports me, I chose Hachijuhachi for a more luxurious stay than usual. The Accommodation wasn’t overly large, and I could feel the warmth of the wood throughout. The Room was spacious as well, and we were able to relax at our own pace. Above all, being able to enjoy the Onsen in the Room whenever we wanted was truly wonderful. The public bath also had separate washing areas. It was just a one-night stay, but perhaps thanks to the Onsen, my skin felt silky smooth! For meals, we enjoyed a variety of dishes little by little. The surprise birthday dessert was such a lovely touch and made me very happy. The tea available throughout the property, along with the manju and ice cream service outside, were all bite-sized and easy to enjoy. The tea was so delicious that I ended up buying lots as souvenirs. It was a trip focused on fully enjoying the Accommodation, and it exceeded expectations—I was completely satisfied. It’s a luxurious place for me, but I’d love to visit again someday. Thank you very much.

I was able to relax and enjoy a soothing, restful time.

The Room, Onsen, meals, and the hospitality of the staff—everything about this Accommodation was perfect. There were families with children as well, but overall it was a quiet environment where we could relax at a leisurely pace. True to its reputation as an Onsen for beautiful skin, the water was wonderfully moisturizing and soft, and we were completely satisfied. We left the Accommodation reluctantly, wishing we could have spent more time soaking in the Onsen in our Room. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again and highly recommend.

    Looking forward to the future.

This time, I stayed in the most expensive Room with a private sauna. Guests are expected to remove their shoes and walk around the property and the Room barefoot, but there is no underfloor heating. The wooden flooring areas and the stone entryway are far too cold. I couldn’t manage without slippers. At a price point of over 200,000 yen, if you expect guests to go barefoot, you should think this through more carefully. As for the meals, it’s nice that you can choose from three options, but overall nothing was particularly impressive. It didn’t feel worth this price range. I think it would be better to look at other Accommodations and learn from them. Also, even though I was staying in the most expensive Room, I wasn’t guided to a private dining room. In the Q&A section it says that guests in the annex are given priority for private rooms—and there were private rooms available—yet we were not seated there. When I asked whether our seating assignment might have been mistaken, they insisted it wasn’t. I was honestly astonished by what passes for hospitality here. You should reconsider this. There were also many issues: no explanation on how to make tea when showing us the Room; staff guiding us to our table were unfriendly; menu mistakes; sticky notes left on a tray; even after pointing out that the white wine was incorrect, they said it was red wine. This isn’t about younger staff being at fault—I believe it reflects inadequate training by management. Overall, operations felt disjointed. It came across as more of a mass-market Ryokan with only luxury-level pricing.

    Recommended Accommodation for Special Occasions

I stayed here as a special treat for myself, and I think it’s also highly recommended for anniversaries. The in-Room bath is an Onsen, meals are served in fully private dining rooms, and with only a small number of Rooms overall, it never feels crowded. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the stay very comfortable. It was an Accommodation I’d love to visit again if I have the chance!

Stay for a family of four

As soon as we entered the Accommodation, we took off our shoes and were guided to the check-in area. For families with children, it was great not having to put shoes on and off inside. We also appreciated being able to enjoy Ureshino tea anytime, and having access to a coffee maker. The kids’ area had toys and other items, so our children had a great time. Even while moving around the property, the scenery and buildings were beautiful, so we enjoyed taking a slow walk while looking around. Since there were no steps anywhere in the Accommodation, we felt safe letting our small child walk around. The Room was spacious, and we were given tumblers for tea to take home as gifts. There were mirrors placed in various areas as well, which was a nice touch. The bath was large and very clean, though the water temperature was a bit hot for us, so we adjusted how we entered. We stayed warm for a long time afterward, and it felt like a wonderful Onsen for the skin. We were impressed by how everything was kept beautiful and spotless throughout the Accommodation. The dining area consisted of private rooms, which allowed us to take care of our children while enjoying our meal at a relaxed pace. We didn’t do anything special—just took it easy and recovered from fatigue. The staff spoke gently with kind tones, and even our shy daughter was able to say bye-bye. It became a luxurious trip that is hard to experience often. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for your support.

It was an anniversary trip, and when we arrived at the Accommodation, we were told, “A higher-grade Room is available, so please use it,” which really surprised us. It was such a spacious Room that it felt almost too much for just two of us, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration. There was tea placed throughout the Accommodation, which I loved and truly enjoyed, and the lesson on how to brew tea was very informative. As this Accommodation recommends going barefoot, the floors were comfortable to walk on. The ingredients were carefully selected with a health-conscious focus, and everything was delicious. Thank you very much.

    Family Trip

Thank you for the hospitality at Yatsuhachiya, as well as the Facility and amenities. However, the dinner was a bit disappointing, possibly due to old ingredients or issues with preparation. I would like to visit again if I have another opportunity.

    A Relaxing Getaway for Couples

Upon entering the Ryokan, the tatami floor spread out, giving a sense of relief. The staff greeted us with warm smiles, which was delightful. The sauna in the large public bath was a bit small and too hot, which was disappointing. The tea service available throughout the facility was a pleasant touch. Both breakfast and dinner were highly satisfying. The karinto manju and tea we bought as souvenirs were so good that we want to come back for more. The aroma oil had a wonderful fragrance as well. We enjoyed a relaxing stay as a couple.

A highly hospitable accommodation with a perfect balance of distance, offering exceptional comfort.

I arrived a bit early, but the staff was already at the car drop-off area, seamlessly guiding me through the check-in process to my room with concise yet sufficient explanations. They even engaged in light conversation, showcasing exceptional attentiveness and professionalism. Their discreet service left a lasting impression, as they didn’t mention the room upgrade until I expressed my gratitude. The room was impeccable and exceeded expectations. Although not mentioned in the description, I discovered that the JBL alarm clock doubled as a Bluetooth speaker, allowing me to enjoy music during my stay—a delightful surprise. The sauna and open-air bath were convenient with no need for extra items, while the private onsen had slightly hotter water that perfectly suited my preference. After bathing, complimentary cold drinks from the fridge and ice cream from the lounge were available anytime. Alongside tea service in shared areas and a Nespresso machine, these amenities allowed for ultimate relaxation without worrying about time. The meals offered an array of dishes with vibrant presentation and diverse ingredients to savor. However, considering this price range of accommodation, I found that some elements like sashimi or fatty yellowtail lacked impact compared to expectations. Additionally, while we were seated at what seemed like a quieter semi-private table at the back of the dining area due to its open design without doors separating spaces fully—conversations nearby carried over easily affecting ambiance slightly negatively despite other empty tables around potentially offering better arrangements instead. Overall though beyond minor critiques regarding meal setup adjustments needed perhaps—it turned out surprisingly comfortable exceeding initial hopes greatly appreciated experience altogether! Thankful again here genuinely impressed overall quality services provided throughout stay! Lastly prior night spent Nagasaki Marriott equally wonderful too hence looking forward seeing JR Kyushu Hotels expanding further future opportunities ahead!

    Warm hospitality

I used this place to celebrate my mother's birthday, and she was delighted with the surprise service. The staff, especially the person in charge, were friendly and welcoming. Thank you for your hospitality. The Onsen featured natural flowing hot spring water that was smooth and soothing, and the entire Facility was clean, beautiful, and comfortable. There were many favorite points such as comparing Ureshino tea flavors, a coffee machine, all-you-can-eat ice cream(?), Dyson hairdryer in the Room, and areas where slippers weren't needed. The meals (dinner & rice) were delicious, and overall service was excellent—I would love to visit again!

    The food was delicious.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The tea service was amazing! The tea was delicious, and the Onsen was great as well. The only thing about the dining area... it might have been better if it were by an open window. The staff were very friendly and always smiling, which was very comforting. Thank you so much. I hope to visit again if I have the chance!

    Happy for Your Dog

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days with my parents and our dog. From the moment we arrived, our dog was excitedly running back and forth between the room and the garden, seeming to really enjoy the room. The bathroom in the room was spacious and comfortable as shown in the photos. There was even a waterproof portable speaker, allowing us to fully enjoy the onsen experience. On the other hand, we found that the bath at the accommodation felt a bit cramped both in terms of bathtub size and changing area, making it less relaxing when crowded. The breakfast and dinner were served with different themes each day, which we enjoyed very much. However, for my elderly parents, some portions were a bit too large—especially breakfast with dishes like hot tofu filling them up quickly; unfortunately, we couldn’t finish everything. The service was just right for us—not too intrusive but attentive enough. One unique feature of this accommodation is that you walk around without shoes or slippers inside; walking in socks turned out to be surprisingly pleasant and made our stay very relaxing overall!

    It was an Onsen paradise!!

I stayed in a room designed for dog owners, and it was absolutely amazing! There was a private entrance exclusively for dog owners, ensuring privacy and allowing us to relax without worrying about other guests. During our stay, I enjoyed the open-air bath multiple times, spending a total of about 3 hours soaking and unwinding. Since my dog tends to bark when left alone, we opted for a no-meal plan this time. However, the soundproofing of the room exceeded my expectations—so much so that I think we could have chosen a meal-inclusive plan without any issues (tears). Next time, I’d love to try the meals and bar as well! The guest rooms and facilities were all impeccably maintained and very comfortable. The tea provided in the room as well as the tea and ice cream available within the facility offered plenty of variety—I enjoyed them several times during my stay! It was truly an accommodation filled with small delights at every turn.

    I think it's a great accommodation.

The stay was very comfortable, and I sincerely appreciate it. All staff were well-trained, and their attentiveness exceeded my expectations. The high level of hospitality at your hotel is its greatest charm. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with the Japanese-style breakfast being particularly excellent. With high hopes, I would like to propose the following points: I felt that explanations about room facilities and amenities were generally insufficient. For example, I couldn't figure out whether there were blinds on the windows or how to operate them, so I left them up and felt cold in the room at night. Regarding privacy concerns with the bathroom blinds, there was no explanation provided on their use, which made me feel uneasy. It would be helpful to have a unified manual with clear instructions for first-time guests. The bed seemed slightly too low; improving its height could enhance ease of sitting down and standing up for better comfort. Additionally, as there was no heating in the bathroom, introducing one would improve comfort and safety during colder seasons. For a brief moment, I noticed an employee using what appeared to be a personal smartphone. Given the overall high standards of service here, I hope for stricter adherence to professional conduct. The service provided by your staff is truly exceptional. By further enhancing details such as "facilities" and "guidance," this hotel can become even more outstanding. I look forward to staying again in the future!

    Stayed on the final ...

Stayed on the final day of a 4-day, 3-night trip in Saga Prefecture. Shuttle service from Ureshino Onsen Station was available, and the staff provided attentive and reassuring service from the shuttle to check-in at the room and guidance within the accommodation. The hospitality was pleasant from start to finish. Inside the accommodation, there were three tea service corners reflecting Ureshino's reputation as a tea region, each offering different flavors to enjoy. Comparing the aromas and tastes was delightful, and I visited about three times during my stay. It was also a great touch that you could fill your in-room tumbler (which you can take home) with tea. Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying in terms of quality and quantity, with a focus on local ingredients sourced within an 88-kilometer radius—a message that truly resonated throughout the meals. As for the onsen, it ranked among some of the best I've experienced so far; its water quality left my skin feeling incredibly smooth. This is one of those accommodations worth considering when visiting Saga Prefecture, and personally, I would love to return again someday. Next time, I hope to participate in their "Tea Ceremony," which I couldn't experience this time around!

    Family Girls' Trip

An annual onsen trip with the same four members! This year, we chose Kyushu and selected Ureshino Hachijuhachi with great interest. As expected, it exuded luxury! Among all the onsen accommodations we've visited so far, this was unanimously our number one favorite. We were especially impressed by not having to wear slippers and being able to walk barefoot throughout the tatami-floored facility. The tea learning experience was also a valuable memory. The meals were filled with both exquisite taste and luxurious presentation. Every aspect allowed us to escape daily stress and spend precious time in a space detached from reality. It was an incredibly satisfying trip, and we would love to visit this accommodation again. Thank you for your hospitality!
