    On Saturdays, Maiko Performances

    This was my second stay. The room had a great view of Kyoto Tower. At night, I enjoyed the pool, which was pleasantly uncrowded. Afterward, I visited the bar and had a mocktail. The atmosphere at the bar was lovely, and the mocktail was very delicious. Breakfast included a main dish of your choice along with a buffet-style selection. It was nice to be able to order multiple servings of the main dish. While some dishes were slightly strongly seasoned, everything tasted great overall. On check-in day, I heard that Maiko dancers perform on Saturdays, so I waited until it started and watched their dance before leaving. The Maiko were very charming, and it was an amazing experience since it's rare to see them up close like this. Overall, the staff were very kind and breakfast was excellent. One small disappointment was that HARNN amenities had been replaced by another brand's products—I wish at least the body cream could return to HARNN!

    Wonderful Hotel

    The service provided by the Cluster Executive Housekeeper was truly exceptional and impressive. The breakfast and café dishes were very delicious, and I would love to try dinner next time. The smiles of the Thai staff were wonderful. This is a Hotel I will definitely visit again.

    For birthday celebrations

    First, the beautiful entrance was impressive. The staff warmly approached and guided us with great care and friendliness. We were delighted by the birthday wishes and thoughtful gestures. The Plan included dinner, and the restaurant staff's attentiveness and service were excellent. It was a Hotel we would love to visit again for a special occasion.

    Relaxing Holiday

    Knowing the intense summer heat in Kyoto, I decided to relax at the Hotel. The bed was comfortable, and the stone-tiled bath felt cool and refreshing! The view faced the courtyard, but since I kept the shoji screens closed for privacy from opposite rooms, it didn’t seem very meaningful. Perhaps an outer-facing room would have been better? Although my stay was upgraded, I couldn’t tell what exactly had been upgraded. Unfortunately, the Thai restaurant I wanted to visit was closed on that day. For a relaxing stay, it’s a good idea to make a reservation at your desired Thai restaurant beforehand!

    Change your mood a little.

    I love Kyoto and visit often, but this time I decided to try something different. Dusit Thani seems to be well-known overseas. Most of the guests were international visitors, and there were only a few Japanese staff at the hotel. It felt like being abroad rather than in Kyoto, which was an interesting experience. Breakfast included a good selection of Thai dishes, which were delicious—I ended up eating too much (laughs). I learned from other blogs that you can request pajamas and skincare products, so I asked for them, but I think it would be helpful if this information was clearly stated on the site.

    I stayed at the accommodation for a short summer trip. The interior was a stylish space filled with the essence of Kyoto. For dinner, I enjoyed à la carte dishes focusing on Thai cuisine, all of which were delicious and reasonably priced for this class of hotel, making it very satisfying. In particular, I found the restaurant staff's service to be exceptional. Although not very large in scale, the refined atmosphere and attentive staff made for a wonderful stay that felt truly special.

    The Perfect Getaway

    I stayed for one night and used this Hotel for the first time. The atmosphere was wonderful, and I felt great from the moment I opened the door. Personally, I really loved that scent. As expected of a luxury Hotel, their hospitality was excellent. All the staff were very kind and welcoming. Some of the Asian staff seemed to struggle slightly with complex conversations, but it didn’t bother me at all. This Hotel doesn’t have a large public bath facility, but the Room’s bathroom was very comfortable. It wasn’t particularly high-tech or functional, but it had a great ambiance. I used it both at night and in the morning—it was very relaxing. The bed in my Room was also comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly. As many other reviews mentioned, breakfast is highly recommended here. You can get refills on your main dish if you like, and everything is delicious! Personally, I enjoyed their cold-pressed juice a lot!

    Best value for money!!

    I revisited because I had a great experience when I stayed here after it first opened. Once again, the accommodation, room, restaurant, and pool were all extremely satisfying. It feels almost too good for the price. The breakfast allows you to order as many items from the menu as you'd like, which is fantastic—and everything is absolutely delicious. However, it's disappointing that children are not allowed in the pool. I hope they consider allowing children to enter if accompanied by an adult.

    A cost-effective Hotel within walking distance from Kyoto Station

    【Pros】 - Unlimited access to the gym, sauna, and pool. - Great value for under 100,000 yen for a 2-night stay. - Most staff are well-trained, except for one restaurant employee. 【Cons】 - Had to wait over 10 minutes to be seated at the restaurant for breakfast without any apology. - Other guests who arrived later were seated promptly—unprofessional or just pretending to be busy? - The breakfast experience was unpleasant and not worth it. - Neither a wide variety nor exceptional taste in the food offered. - Despite being a Kyoto Hotel, apart from Nishiri pickles, there was no originality; it felt lackluster overall. - While it's under 100,000 yen for two nights and expectations should be tempered, there are plenty of better hotels in the same price range.

    High Expectations

    I was very excited to visit after reading reviews and seeing photos. The warm welcome upon arrival and the friendly attitude of the staff who guided us to our room made for a pleasant start. However, when I visited the bar briefly, it seemed like one person was handling everything alone behind the counter, which made me notice how other staff members were working. I had high expectations for breakfast based on travel blogs and reviews I had read beforehand, but it turned out differently than I imagined, so I only had a light meal before leaving. The herbal tea was very delicious.

    Authentic and exquisite Thai cuisine

    Stayed for one night with breakfast included. The highlight was definitely the food. 1. Main Bar Den Kyoto Happy Hour from 16:00 to 19:00 is very worthwhile, with whiskey available at half price. 2. All-Day Dining Kati As expected from a Thai Hotel, the Thai cuisine is exceptional. The Tom Yum Fried Rice is a must-try! Breakfast was also delicious, offering both main dishes and a buffet selection. The main Thai dishes included two options: curry and noodles. We highly recommend enjoying your meals within the Hotel. Since it’s located slightly far from the station, we suggest taking a taxi if you have luggage like suitcases. Additionally, as there are no convenience stores nearby, it’s recommended to purchase any necessities in advance.

    Exceptional.

    Dusit Thani in Bangkok and Guam were great Hotels, but Kyoto was exceptional. Every staff member, from the doorman to reception, café, restaurant, spa, in-room dining, concierge, and activity team worked seamlessly together with constant smiles and a dedication to finding the best for their guests. The farm tour and chatting with a Maiko were truly unique experiences. This is an outstanding Hotel on par with Park Hyatt or Ritz-Carlton.

    A Luxurious Blend of Japanese and Thai Elegance ─ Experience Blissful Stays at Dusit Thani Kyoto

    Stayed at Dusit Thani Kyoto for the first accommodation of 2025. It felt very cost-effective as I could combine IKYU's benefits with the hotel's special offers. The hotel interior blended Kyoto and Thai cultures, offering a luxurious modern Japanese style. The room featured elements like shoji screens and elephant-shaped objects, creating an intriguing fusion of Kyoto and Thai aesthetics. In addition to being escorted to the room and receiving explanations inside, while exploring the hotel at night, a staff member kindly explained about the decorations, imported furniture, and miscellaneous items within the hotel. For dinner, enjoyed teppanyaki at Momiji. The Tajima beef fillet was exceptional. Had cocktails at the bar as a digestif and spent an extraordinary evening within the hotel. Breakfast included delicious eggs benedict along with Tom Yum Goong—a delightful start to the day. Overall, both cuisine and service were of high quality, making it a highly satisfying stay. Would love to stay here again when visiting Kyoto in the future!

    The Room is compact ...

    The Room is compact yet new and comfortable. While being mindful of ethics is very important, it is slightly inconvenient to go back to the Room each time for tissues as there are none in the washroom. Pajamas will be brought upon request via phone, but since I have to ask every time, it would be greatly appreciated if this could be noted and prepared in advance along with other information. I look forward to visiting again.

    Luxurious Space

    It was a long-awaited trip with my mother. The Room was very comfortable, and the bright bathroom made it easy to do makeup. Even when we returned tired at night, the thoughtful touches like bed-making and snacks felt very warm. Additionally, the pre-requested services were perfect, which made my mother very happy. The Hotel is conveniently close to Kyoto Station and is highly recommended for those who want to enjoy a luxurious space. The building is stylish, and we experienced a truly indulgent time. Thank you so much! I would love to stay again.

    Hotel with a Traditional Kyoto Townhouse Atmosphere

    The atmosphere felt more like a traditional Kyoto townhouse than Thai-inspired. The toothbrush provided as an amenity was surprisingly comfortable to use. It would have been even better if there were washcloths and deodorizing spray available. Dinner at the restaurant Momiji featured dishes made with local ingredients, including chawanmushi, kuji fish, and Tajima beef, all of which were delicious. Thank you to the staff at Bar Dan for kindly engaging in conversation with us. Breakfast included Thai cuisine options, which were flavorful and enjoyable. The jacuzzi pool was not crowded, allowing for a relaxing experience. We truly enjoyed the extraordinary atmosphere and look forward to staying again!

    Cozy and very nice.

    This is not a large-scale hotel, offering a relaxed atmosphere. As expected from a Thai accommodation, the Thai cuisine was delicious, and the desserts were also exceptional. The room was of a comfortable size with an efficient layout. While it is not a high-rise hotel and does not offer expansive views, there are many temples and shrines nearby, making morning walks enjoyable. Most guests seemed to be international visitors. There were no large tour groups during my stay, allowing for peaceful moments at the hotel. I enjoyed the lunch buffet, in-room dining, and breakfast thoroughly. Many staff members spoke foreign languages rather than Japanese, so I had the chance to place orders in English after some time. I look forward to visiting again!

    Beyond expectations

    Located in the city center, there is no view, but everything else is excellent. As a relatively new Hotel, staff performance can vary, but their dedication is evident. Some professional hoteliers are present, and their service was impressive on multiple occasions. The hospitality truly deserves five stars. While the facilities are not ultra-luxurious, they exude a refined quality without feeling cheap. The open courtyard from the basement level enhances the sense of space, natural light, and design aesthetics, creating an elegant atmosphere. The Room quality is above average; while it may not match Four Seasons Kyoto in comparison, it feels on par with Seiryu Kiyomizu. Breakfast falls slightly short in terms of ingredients and service compared to top-tier establishments but remains reasonably tasty (cold cuts like smoked salmon could be improved). The à la carte Tom Yum Rice I had for lunch was delicious—slightly spicy but highly recommended. Its proximity to Kyoto Station is another advantage. Currently priced affordably due to low recognition, this Hotel feels like it's in a category just below Ritz-Carlton or Park Hyatt and Four Seasons. Prices might increase as its reputation grows—but overall, it left an excellent impression!

    Stay with your family

    I stayed with my elderly mother at the accommodation. From check-in, we felt so relaxed that we lost track of time. The hospitality was truly pleasant. We visited the spa pool available for guests and enjoyed it at a warm temperature. It would have been nice to have amenities like lotion in the room as well. Additionally, a small chair in front of the bathroom mirror would have made it easier on our legs. Although it was just one night, we had a wonderful time.

    This has been one of the accommodations I wanted to stay at since its opening. I have visited several times for lunch and afternoon tea. While many accommodations have stopped escorting guests to their rooms during the pandemic, this hotel provided a proper guide and explanation of the room. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There is a gym, pool, and sauna available. The room comes with yukata provided, but loungewear is also available upon request. For women, even an L size feels comfortably loose-fitting. The main purpose of my stay was breakfast. As expected, it was very delicious and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The hotel staff and restaurant staff were all kind and very friendly while maintaining professionalism as expected. One thing missing was that winter stays can feel dry; having an air purifier with a humidifier would have been helpful. Additionally, the shower hose in the room was broken which caused slight inconvenience—I meant to report it but forgot. Even so, this is an excellent accommodation!

    The room was clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to have a humidifying air purifier. Dust on black items like the room's kettle and clock was noticeable. It would have been better if staff fluent in Japanese were available for check-in and check-out. The welcome drink was brought to the small space at the check-in counter, but I would have preferred to enjoy it in the lobby for a more relaxing experience. I stayed here to celebrate a birthday, and I appreciated the birthday plate prepared in the room. However, I felt slightly disappointed when an identical plate was served at the restaurant during dinner—it made me feel conflicted despite appreciating the gesture. Although I informed staff about dining at the restaurant during check-in, their reaction seemed uncertain ("???"), suggesting that this information wasn't shared internally. While it might be nice if there were more Thai-inspired elements throughout, everything blended well with Japanese aesthetics, creating a calming atmosphere. Overall, it exceeded expectations for its price point. Thank you very much!

    It feels like going on an overseas trip.

    From the moment I stepped into the Hotel, I felt like I was on an overseas trip. The space, beautifully combining modern Thai and Japanese design, was very comfortable. The hospitality from the staff reflected Thailand's warmth, making my stay pleasant. I chose this Hotel for its teppanyaki dining experience and enjoyed delicious dishes amidst autumn foliage. A casual conversation with a staff member after being surprised by a welcome champagne led to a delightful birthday dessert surprise at the end. Thank you so much! The food, service, and celebratory atmosphere made it a perfect place for special occasions. For breakfast, I ordered Gapao rice as the main dish—it was so delicious that I'd love to try more Thai cuisine next time. The only disappointment was being seated behind the service counter. Although I requested another seat, it wasn’t possible due to how busy it was, which dampened my mood slightly. However, the excellent food made up for it. If not for that seating issue, everything would have been perfect! I hope all guests can be provided with equally comfortable seating in the future.

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The room had a separate toilet, which was very convenient. The interior was calm and allowed us to relax. Breakfast included Thai cuisine, which was authentically spicy and delicious. As a fan of Thailand, I had hoped for a Thai-style Hotel, but understandably that wasn't the case in Kyoto. I would love to stay here again and try the restaurant for dinner next time.

    You can experience an international atmosphere, for better or worse.

    The service quality among the hotel staff varied significantly. We stayed to celebrate a family member's birthday, and since we informed the hotel about the occasion, they kindly arranged a celebration in our room. The room staff provided very kind and attentive service, which was excellent. Being located in Kyoto and part of a Thai-based hotel chain, it seemed that more than half of the guests were international visitors. What stood out was breakfast service. At the restaurant, after providing our room number at check-in for breakfast, I noticed that even though it was clear we were Japanese, we were still addressed in English by what appeared to be a manager (distinguished by their unique attire). If this person had been an international staff member with limited Japanese skills, it would have been understandable; however, they were Japanese themselves. While their English was simple enough to understand, I believe guidance should have been provided in Japanese instead. Additionally, after being seated at our table by another staff member who seemed new based on their demeanor and actions—there was no explanation about how to select menu items or details regarding the buffet options—which left us confused about how to proceed. Lastly—and most notably—when leaving the restaurant post-breakfast: while one nearby team member greeted us politely upon exit (thankfully), this aforementioned manager neither acknowledged nor greeted us despite standing close enough where such oversight felt intentional rather than accidental. Furthermore: - There wasn’t any clear communication regarding available "Hotel Credit" usage policies beforehand; hence plans fell through unexpectedly requiring alternative arrangements like visiting lounges instead where again noticeable delays occurred before receiving attention/service assistance properly there too! While understanding newly established accommodations prioritizing inbound tourism focus areas operationally-wise—it’d benefit greatly improving overall customer-facing training standards moving forward!

    Disappointments

    The staff's hospitality was excellent. The only disappointment was during breakfast, where the receptionist focused solely on one group of guests without acknowledging others who had arrived. A simple greeting or acknowledgment would have made the wait more bearable. Over two days, I adjusted my breakfast time slightly, but encountered a similar situation where other guests were also left waiting.

    The facility itself is not very spacious, but it provided a highly satisfying stay. The hotel's design is stylish, featuring amenities like an indoor pool where you can exercise before breakfast. The spa area, though small, includes a room and sauna. The hairdryer is a Repronizer 7D, and the amenities such as shampoo and body lotion are of high quality, making the stay comfortable just with these features alone. What left the most impression was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. Having stayed at many renowned hotels in Japan, I found that hotels with consistently high levels of hospitality among all staff members are surprisingly rare. This made my stay at this hotel truly satisfying. Breakfast was a half-buffet style where you could choose as many main dishes as you liked; everything was delicious, and I ended up eating too much! I particularly enjoyed TWG's Dusit Thani Bangkok original tea—it was so good that I wanted to purchase it but learned it's not yet available in Kyoto. For this reason, I rated my experience 4 stars. If it becomes available in the future, I would love to visit again!
