    I had visited the restaurant several times, but this was my first stay at the Hotel. As soon as I entered the entrance, I was greeted by a soothing fragrance. The lobby also had a calm atmosphere and felt very luxurious. Everyone on staff welcomed me with a smile and was very pleasant, which made me feel comfortable. Even among Hotels in a similar price range—some international chains don’t offer services like carrying luggage at check-in—they kindly carried my bags all the way to my Room. Also, when I asked for a charger at night, they brought extra water and additional amenities as well, even though I hadn’t requested them, which truly impressed me. I really liked this luxurious Hotel with attentive service throughout. The location is just a short taxi ride from the station, but it’s a bit far from central areas like Shijo, so it felt slightly inconvenient. Other than that, it was flawless—a Hotel I would want to visit again and again.

    At the restaurant—especially at breakfast—the Japanese staff seemed inexperienced and not very reliable. They would just show us to our seats and place menus for the number of guests. It also felt understaffed, and even after ordering, the food took a long time to arrive; when we asked about it, we were told it was already sold out. The food is delicious, so I hope this will be improved.

    Peace of mind with Dishitani

    I can only describe it with simple words like wonderful smiles and warm hospitality, but the harmony of Thai and Kyoto culture near Kyoto Station was truly impressive. Not over the top or intrusive—just right, and exactly as expected. It made me want to come back again soon. The autumn-leaves sushi was exquisite.

    Wonderful.

    A Hotel for International Guests with Delicious Dining

    I stayed here solo for a weekend. Please note that Diamond member benefits cannot be used at the shop or for in-room dining. Since I had planned to dine via in-room dining, I decided at the last minute to have dinner at the restaurant and asked about availability at check-in, but was told to contact the restaurant myself. At the restaurant, my food did not arrive even after 30 minutes, while guests who arrived later had already started eating. When I asked how much longer it would take, they checked with the kitchen staff and told me “5 more minutes,” so it seemed my order had clearly been forgotten. The staff appeared very attentive to inbound guests, but as a Japanese guest traveling alone, I felt a bit sad that I seemed easy to overlook. That said, the food was very delicious, and the Room was comfortable. Breakfast was also tasty with a semi-made-to-order buffet style. Nishi Honganji Temple is nearby and is perfect for a morning walk. This is a Hotel I had wanted to stay at at least once, so overall I am satisfied.

    The staff were very helpful, and we had an enjoyable stay. Satisfaction should be assessed in line with each Hotel’s price range, but I rated it on an absolute basis. We felt the level of satisfaction matched the price.

    The Thai-style shrimp fried rice was delicious.

    This was my second stay this year. The Hotel is close to Kyoto Station, making it very convenient for sightseeing and visiting Isetan. The sake lees cheesecake served in the lounge was delicious, and the Thai-style shrimp fried rice we ordered through in-room dining was also excellent.

    It was a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was as delicious as expected, and we were very satisfied. The seasonal Tanabata decorations were also lovely. All the staff were wonderfully attentive.

    A trip with my son, just the two of us.

    This was my first stay, and although it was much more reasonably priced than ROKU or Four Seasons where I usually stay, I was extremely satisfied. I can’t wait to stay again soon. The parking space for one car is a bit narrow, but that’s understandable, and the food was absolutely delicious—I was very satisfied. If I had to mention one thing, I noticed the communication among staff felt slightly tense at times, but they were extremely courteous toward us as guests. I will be staying again in the near future.

    It’s a wonderful Hotel. The food was delicious, and it has an intimate luxury feel. There is also a gym, and I had a great time. While I was training, a staff member even brought me coffee. The restaurant team and the sommelier were friendly while maintaining a comfortable sense of distance—thank you very much. Above all, this is a Hotel with truly excellent staff service. Areas for improvement: the men’s changing Room sometimes felt dirty during busy times, perhaps because there are many female staff members. If your Room faces the road, you may occasionally notice nighttime noise from passing dump trucks. I would also be happy if there were a cold plunge bath in the sauna area. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

    This is my favorite ...

    This is my favorite Hotel. It was a bit hectic when it first opened, but now it’s a wonderful Hotel with the atmosphere of a long-established property. The Room, pool, meals—everything is excellent! Most overnight guests are foreigners, while most people using the lobby lounge are Japanese. It’s a little distance from downtown, but you can walk from Kyoto Station, so it’s not much of an inconvenience. Thank you as always.

    Conveniently located near JR Kyoto Station yet pleasantly quiet away from the city bustle. Everyone I interacted with, not only at reception but also in the restaurant, was kind and attentive. Many guests were overseas families, but the atmosphere remained calm and relaxed. The Room was simple yet comfortable, and I was able to rest well. The bed mattress in particular had just the right firmness and was very comfortable. The only minor issue was that the labels on the shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner bottles in the bathroom were hard to read.

    I was deeply moved by your final response.

    Last December, my spouse and I were both unwell and couldn’t celebrate Christmas, so we stayed here and pre-ordered a cake to celebrate properly. The wonderful fragrance the moment we entered the Hotel was unforgettable. We were first offered a welcome drink of ginger-infused ame-yu, which was truly delicious. The check-in service was also very courteous, and they upgraded us from Deluxe to Premier. When I asked about the ame-yu, they kindly told me their supplier even though it isn’t sold—such thoughtful attention to detail. We were escorted to our Room, and we requested turndown service during dinner (Reservation at 17:30). Dinner was French cuisine at Kati. When we were unsure about drinks, an international staff member recommended one and we ordered it. There was a mistake and a different wine was served, but they handled it quickly and politely—so in the end we enjoyed two glasses. The portions were generous and very satisfying. Everything was excellent, especially the sole paupiette. Our pre-ordered cake was also served with dessert. The cake was delicious as well. One disappointment was that the turndown service that had been explained as taking place during dinner wasn’t done; however, since I prefer not to have service while in the Room, I messaged via the app chat to say, “No turndown needed.” Breakfast the next morning was also at Kati. They spoke to us in English, which made it feel like being abroad. They referred to black tea as “koucya” rather than “tea,” which I felt might be considerate wording so it wouldn’t be mistaken for Japanese tea. Everything—including Thai dishes—was delicious, and I definitely ate too much. To be honest, up to this point I thought I might rate it 4 stars. When we stepped out of our Room to check out, the housekeeping manager was waiting in the hallway and offered a very sincere apology for what happened the day before. Even after checkout they escorted us to the parking lot—and even gave us some sweets as a kind gesture. There were small misunderstandings along the way, but their sincerity more than made up for them in the end, making this a stay that truly made me want to return. This is unquestionably a 5-star Hotel. The entire property had a calm atmosphere—a space where you can slowly enjoy an escape from everyday life. Thank you very much for everyone’s warm hospitality.

    We had a relaxing stay. Humidifiers and air purifiers are not provided as standard, so you need to request them. The climate control was quite finicky, and adjusting the air conditioner via the display was a struggle.

    Staff Service

    This is a lovely-looking Hotel. The Hotel itself is also wonderful—so much so that I would like to make it my regular Accommodation. However, I was disappointed because the Asian cuisine I had been looking forward to did not feel authentic. Also, most of the staff are foreigners, and I think it would be better to have properly trained staff assigned to key sections. I could not use the phone in my Room, and when I told them it needed to be fixed before the next guest’s stay, they did not seem to understand and only replied, “Yes.”

    I had a relaxing time.

    Stayed for one night after two years. The Hotel is conveniently located near Kyoto Station, and I was able to check in even though I arrived a bit early. The Room was new, clean, quiet, and very relaxing. The lavender pillow mist from the turndown service was a nice touch. At the breakfast buffet, the Thai curry of the day and cold-pressed juice were especially delicious. The staff also took orders at just the right timing, making everything very smooth. Thanks to the Diamond benefits, I enjoyed a late checkout until 1 PM for a leisurely stay. I would love to stay at this Hotel again!

    The meal we were looking forward to was ruined.

    I booked a Plan with dinner and breakfast included, but both meals were overshadowed by the same couple or pair seated next to us on both occasions. The strong smell of smoke from them was unbearable, making it difficult to enjoy the otherwise delicious meals. Despite other seats being available, we were placed next to them twice—both at dinner and breakfast. During breakfast in particular, I felt unwell due to the smell and repeatedly called for staff assistance to change seats, but none of the staff seemed attentive or aware of the situation. This was very disappointing. For me, a Hotel stay is about enjoying everything within its premises without stepping outside. Especially when it comes to dining, I want an experience free from unpleasant odors or disturbances so I can fully enjoy my time there.

    The most impressive ...

    The most impressive aspect was the fragrance. From the moment I entered the Hotel, I was surrounded by a scent I love, which made me feel incredibly happy. Whether heading from my Room to the lobby or to the restaurant, being greeted by this fragrance every time brought me great joy. Naturally, warm hospitality could be felt from the staff, in my Room, and at the restaurant. Additionally, when I realized I had forgotten something and called in a panic, housekeeping responded promptly and sent it back with careful packaging and even a thoughtful message. I am truly grateful for this gesture and would like to express my thanks here.

    Used for a birthday celebration.

    I had been wanting to stay here for a while and chose this accommodation to celebrate my birthday. I contacted the hotel in advance as I wanted to send a gift directly, and they responded kindly. On the day of my stay, they even prepared a surprise plate in the room, which made me very happy and grateful. The staff provided attentive service with support from Japanese-speaking staff, which left a positive impression. The interior design of the lobby and rooms was a beautiful blend of Asian and Japanese styles, creating an elegant atmosphere. On the downside, while there was a comb among the amenities, there was no brush, which I found slightly disappointing. Additionally, I felt that the water pressure in the shower was somewhat weak. Breakfast offered an extensive variety of Japanese, Western, and Asian dishes that were highly satisfying; however, despite having a dress code in place, some guests near us were not adhering to it but were still allowed into the restaurant. This raised questions about enforcing such rules. For instance, one male guest violated the dress code while another female guest had visibly wet hair—both situations detracted from an enjoyable dining experience. Perhaps my expectations were too high overall; however, there were many positive aspects as well. I might consider this accommodation again for future trips to Kyoto!

    Quiet Hotel

    This was my second stay. This time, I wanted to enjoy a relaxing meal in the Room, so I had lunch elsewhere and checked in later. The chilled towel and welcome drink of cold ginger syrup were perfect for this season. Surrounded by many temples and shrines, I enjoyed a different side of Kyoto by browsing shops selling traditional robes from outside, then indulged in wine during happy hour and Thai cuisine in the Room. In the morning, after a spa session, I headed to breakfast. The half-buffet was delicious with French toast and croque-madame made to order, along with buffet salads, fruits, and desserts that left me full. Although the parking lot felt slightly narrow compared to recent Hotels, its bright lighting made up for it. I'll definitely visit again!

    On Saturdays, Maiko Performances

    This was my second stay. The room had a great view of Kyoto Tower. At night, I enjoyed the pool, which was pleasantly uncrowded. Afterward, I visited the bar and had a mocktail. The atmosphere at the bar was lovely, and the mocktail was very delicious. Breakfast included a main dish of your choice along with a buffet-style selection. It was nice to be able to order multiple servings of the main dish. While some dishes were slightly strongly seasoned, everything tasted great overall. On check-in day, I heard that Maiko dancers perform on Saturdays, so I waited until it started and watched their dance before leaving. The Maiko were very charming, and it was an amazing experience since it's rare to see them up close like this. Overall, the staff were very kind and breakfast was excellent. One small disappointment was that HARNN amenities had been replaced by another brand's products—I wish at least the body cream could return to HARNN!
