    Okinawa Trip

We stayed here as a family this time. The Room was very clean, and we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. If we have the chance to stay in Naha again, we would definitely like to use this Accommodation next time as well. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Time flies—this Hotel offers a soothing summer escape.

I stayed here about two years ago as well. At that time, it felt like the Hotel had just opened, and the entrance (reception) was on the 1st floor, so I remember various procedures taking quite a bit of time. Since that trip was my first time in Okinawa, I assumed that was just how things were. I visited Okinawa again last year and stayed at a different Hotel. This year, I made another Reservation here and looked forward to my stay. The reception entrance is now on the 11th floor, and everything was smooth—I was checked in in no time. Because the trip started off so well, it stayed wonderful right through to the last day. Everything was excellent: breakfast, the pool, the rooms, the entrance area, and especially the staff’s smiles and service. I spent my stay feeling refreshed all the way until check-out. I’d love to stay again next year! One small thought: if there were a little clock in the room made from that wood-grain style wood used at breakfast (which seems to match your concept), it would look very stylish—though I imagine you may intentionally not place clocks so guests can forget about time. It’s also less than a minute’s walk to Kokusai-dori Street, and close to a Yui Rail station as well, so access is great. I’ve only stayed in summer, but it’s been amazing.

    Stylish and comfortable stay.

The Hotel’s overall design sense was excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay. The lounge food and drinks also had just the right variety and selection. The pool was uncrowded, and depending on the time of day, we could relax and enjoy it almost as if it were private. The Room was clean with wood flooring, the layout was easy to use, and it was very comfortable. Overall, it was a truly satisfying stay. However, one thing I hope could be improved is the smell of cigarette smoke in the elevator. Perhaps because there is a smoking area on the second floor, a strong odor lingered in the elevator multiple times. We stayed with children this time, and since I’m sensitive to smoke myself, it felt a bit tough. Everything else was wonderful, so I would be happy if you could consider some measures to address this. We already have plans to stay at another Hotel in your group next year, and we would also like to visit this Hotel again next year. We’re looking forward to our next stay.

Neither particularly good nor particularly bad.

As for the amenities, I personally found it unpleasant that both the shampoo and body soap left a slippery feeling no matter how much I rinsed (perhaps due to moisturizing ingredients). Regarding service, at the club lounge, when I opened the lid of the consommé and found it was empty, I told a staff member it was out. They silently took the pot away and did not refill it or offer any explanation. They were chatting in the kitchen (probably just by chance), which did not leave a good impression. I appreciate that they allowed us to use the rooftop sauna even though we stayed right after a typhoon had passed. However, the cold plunge bath was still dirty, and the sauna room temperature was 70°C, which is not really sufficient for a sauna. It was improved on the second day. There were lovely photos displayed in the hallway, but it was disappointing that they were barely visible because no lighting shone on them. As for the club lounge menu, I would have liked more variety in alcoholic drinks other than those used for cocktails, though there was a good selection of snacks. There were also some hot items. Since we had eaten an in-flight meal at 4:00 p.m., we planned not to have a proper late-night meal upon arrival and instead rely on what was available at the club lounge. In that sense, we felt there could have been more food options that weren’t just dry snacks. (My dining rating refers to what was offered at the club lounge.)

Unfortunately, this became a disappointing memory of our stay in Okinawa...

I booked and stayed for four nights via IKYU, based on the great location, its status as a five-star Hotel, and highly rated Reviews. For a boutique Hotel of this size in the upper ¥30,000s per night and above, I would normally expect attentive service and hospitality. Unfortunately, this stay fell far short of those expectations. First, the check-in guidance was insufficient, which caused inconvenience during my stay—far from the hospitality I would expect from a five-star Hotel. In addition, the female staff member who assisted me at check-out was extremely rude. In that case, an automated check-in/out machine would have been much better. I cannot understand why the Hotel employs her at the front desk for check-in/out. After visiting Okinawa from overseas, ending my trip with that kind of treatment left me feeling awful on my way to the airport. After my stay, I checked Google Reviews and Trip.com Reviews and found similar comments to mine, which made me feel this may not have been an isolated incident. Those who regularly stay at high-quality Hotels may be especially likely to find the service unhelpful or unpleasant. On the other hand, the lounge and restaurant staff—and especially the reception staff at the first-floor restaurant—were excellent and conveyed warm hospitality. They helped make up for many aspects of this experience. Overall, while there is appeal in terms of Facilities and location, I feel there is significant room for improvement in the Hotel’s overall service level. To make my next trip to Okinawa a better memory, I would choose a different Hotel next time.

    Fourth time!

I’ve stayed here four times! The Room is spacious, which I think is great! It’s a shame the drink service that used to be available is no longer offered. I feel the lounge could be a bit better stocked, especially with more drinks and food. The sauna is great!

A larger gym would be better.

As always, the hospitality is excellent. The service is also great. The lounge doesn’t have a huge selection, but I recommend it for the atmosphere and because it connects to the outdoor jacuzzi. One area for improvement: other guests sometimes park in the designated parking space. This has happened 3 or 4 times so far. Also, I wish the gym were larger—the space is too small. I’d like the exercise bike that makes your seat hurt to be replaced, and having a bench would be even better. South Gate was better.

This has become my favorite Hotel.

I visit Okinawa every year, but this was my first time staying in Naha. The deciding factors were the Hotel’s convenient location near the station and Kokusai-dori, and the lounge. The Room was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom with a washing area helped me relax and recover from fatigue. A lounge staff member recommended 35 Coffee, which I really loved. Every dish was delicious and high quality. I was unsure after being told my originally booked flight might be canceled due to a typhoon, but I rebooked my flight and Hotel the day before and decided to go to Okinawa anyway, planning to relax inside the Hotel even if the typhoon arrived earlier than expected. In the end, we weren’t affected by the typhoon at all, and I was able to spend a relaxing time at this wonderful Hotel. It made me realize how fun it is to stay in Naha as well. I would love to stay again.

    We had a comfortable stay.

This was my third or fourth stay. This time, I stayed to recharge before working over the weekend. It’s interesting that things change a little every time I stay—maybe it’s just the times. You can see various cost-conscious efforts. This time as well, the reception had moved from the 1st floor to the 11th floor, and the lounge offerings had changed. As for the lounge, I felt it had improved compared with before. It’s a Hotel where it’s hard to find faults, but one thing I noticed this time was that after check-in, a bell staff member used to bring our luggage to the Room and explain things; this time that was omitted and we were only given an information sheet. Also, I thought there used to be bathrobes, but it seemed they had been replaced with hooded gowns for pool use (sorry if I’m mistaken). It feels like more guests are using the pool than before, so overall this makes sense, but for us older guests we would have preferred bathrobes. For meals we had breakfast; as always it was delicious. This time the format had changed: you choose either a seafood rice bowl or pork tamago onigiri, and then everything else is buffet-style. That works too, though I felt the pork tamago onigiri could have been a bit larger. On the first night we poured beer from the beer server; between my wife and me we poured three glasses in total, but each tasted different. When leaving the lounge we informed a staff member—was everything okay? On day two we had canned beer and wine instead and didn’t use the server again, so I don’t know what happened after that. We really enjoyed our two-night stay and were able to relax. We’d like to stay again when we visit Naha.

Amazing even during the rainy season!

We stayed for three nights over Golden Week as a family of four. They set up three beds for us, which was perfect even with an older child. Pajamas and amenities were also provided for the kids, and while there are time limits for using the lounge and pool, the areas are well separated and thoughtfully arranged compared with other Hotels, so our whole family enjoyed them. The lounge also had Okinawan gin and rum, which was a great learning experience. Thank you to the staff member who told us about them. Just past the halfway point of our stay, Okinawa entered the rainy season, but umbrellas were available in the Room, and there are plenty of places within walking distance to enjoy—plus an indoor pool. Exploring the town is fun. We even enjoyed the sudden downpours like squalls. We didn’t get tired of the food at all over three days. The breakfast here is truly delicious: garlic shrimp, bread, Okinawan miso soup, seafood rice bowls, goya champuru—even alcohol… There were still many things we didn’t get to try. The Hotel restaurant was wonderful as well. Thank you for a great time! We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed on March 4. The Hotel is located in the heart of Kokusai-dori. I think it’s the best Hotel for guests arriving at Naha Airport in the evening. The property is very clean. The elevator hall is beautiful, and the night view is stunning. I’ll stay here again.

Because I like this Hotel, it was a bit disappointing.

This was my fourth stay. I’ve been staying here since it first opened, but I feel the overall quality used to be higher. Since it had been a while since my last visit, a lot had changed and it left me a bit confused. I especially liked the staff’s polite and warm hospitality in the past, but this time—perhaps because it was during the Golden Week holidays—there were moments with no greetings and the service often felt somewhat unfriendly. Because my previous impressions were so positive, that was disappointing. To be honest, I also felt the Hotel’s overall image has declined a little compared to before. I also felt more satisfied with breakfast in the past. That said, I really like the location and atmosphere of the Hotel, so I would definitely consider staying again if I have another opportunity. I hope things continue to improve.

Highly recommended for a stay in Naha City.

Overall, I would rate it 4.7 points. I stayed for two nights, and the downsides I would note are: (1) noise in the early morning from neighboring rooms and the pipe shaft, (2) at night, loud voices and shouting from outside can be heard, and (3) limited capacity at reception during busy times (still within an acceptable range). The restaurant and breakfast are excellent. In the breakfast club area, it is reassuring to see a senior chef constantly overseeing everything and directing the staff. Both S I KAKU and Matsuo offer Tokyo-level taste and service, making for a very pleasant experience. The Hotel staff and relaxation staff were also impeccable. I believe this Hotel is good enough that I plan to stay again.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay with an excellent balance of everything.

We stayed as a family of three—my spouse, our elementary school-aged child, and me. Above all, we were delighted by how clean, stylish, and comfortable the space was. The interior wasn’t flashy; it featured a mid-century atmosphere with quality materials, combining good taste and simplicity in a way that made it truly relaxing. We also appreciated the replenishment of amenities and towels. Breakfast and the lounge offerings were both excellent. We would definitely like to stay here again on our next trip to Okinawa.

The parking lot is quite far away.

The Hotel is in a great location, but there is no adjacent parking lot. There is an affiliated parking lot, but it is quite far away, and the route includes hills on the way there and back. There is no valet service, so guests with limited mobility or those who need to go back and forth between the Hotel and the parking lot by car several times should be aware of this. The Facility is clean, breakfast is plentiful, and the service is good, but I would like them to offer valet service even if it costs extra.

    Unexpected

I was looking for a place in the city with a sauna, and it said I could stay for 28 hours, so without reading carefully I ended up making a Reservation for the more expensive Plan instead of the cheaper one. When I arrived at the Hotel, they told me check-in starts at 3:00 PM. I tried to switch to the cheaper Plan, but because it was paid by card, changes were not allowed. They said I could use the club lounge and sauna, but the lounge was nothing special. For the sauna, you have to soak in a lukewarm jacuzzi on the 11th floor and then go up the stairs to the 12th floor; both the cold bath and outdoor area were narrow and hard to use. I expected more from a Room costing over 200,000 yen per night with breakfast included, but it had only a unit bath and even the bedroom was small. At least some consideration would have been appreciated—such as seating us in a more spacious dining area.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

It was a wonderful Hotel with a clear concept, but if I had to mention a couple of drawbacks: Depending on the time of day, the indoor pool can be quite noisy. It’s understandable with children, but there were also many lively young adults. It would be nice to have some kind of reminder about keeping noise down. Also, the mirrors on the wall by the indoor pool were stained with water spots. If these two points are addressed, it would be perfect. Even if not, I think I would still stay again. Breakfast is my favorite among Hotels in Okinawa. The Room is stylish and very practical. The first-floor restaurant is always popular. The location is easy to find. I’m also looking forward to your new Hotel in the same group.

    I enjoyed the steakhouse.

We also visited the steakhouse on the first floor with our grandchild, and the staff were very kind and accommodating—we had a wonderful time. The poolside lounge and the top-floor sauna were also excellent. Although it’s in the middle of the city, it’s a very relaxing space.

    Great location.

We stayed here for our honeymoon. The Room was clean and well-appointed with plenty of amenities. It’s conveniently located just a short walk from Naha Kokusai Dori, making it ideal for sightseeing. The food at the first-floor restaurant was delicious, and we also appreciated the Diamond member credit perk. Both my wife and I were very satisfied with the Hotel’s service. We’d love to visit again.

It became a memorable stay in Naha to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday.

We stayed at Southwest Grand Hotel to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday. Because she has difficulty walking, we chose this Hotel for its convenient location near Kokusai-dori so she could spend her time comfortably. I’ve visited Okinawa many times, but I usually just pass through Naha on the way to resorts in the north. This time, the trip was all about fulfilling my mother’s wish to “take our time and enjoy shopping along Kokusai-dori.” The location—just a short walk from Kokusai-dori—was even more convenient than we expected, and my mother was able to go out and enjoy herself without overexerting. This time we stayed in a Room with lounge access. The lounge has floor-to-ceiling glass windows that create an open, airy feel, and we were able to relax there in a calm atmosphere. They also had Blue Seal ice cream available—such a nice Okinawa-style touch. Next to the lounge are a pool and jacuzzi where you can unwind with a drink. It’s open until 10 p.m., so after dinner we changed into swimsuits in our Room and spent a relaxing time in the jacuzzi while enjoying the night view. A bathrobe that can be worn over swimwear was also provided in the Room, which was very convenient. Before our stay, the staff kindly offered several suggestions for celebrating her birthday, and we had dinner at SHIKAKU, the on-site restaurant. After dinner they surprised us with a birthday cake with a message; my mother was truly delighted. We are grateful for their warm support from before our arrival and their heartfelt hospitality. The guest room was spacious with plenty of room even after opening our suitcases. Having a separate toilet area made it especially comfortable, and the sense of openness from the large windows left a strong impression. Hearing my mother say again and again that it was “such a fun trip” is my happiest memory as well. Thanks to everyone’s thoughtful care, it became an unforgettable commemorative stay. We’ve often stayed in resort areas when visiting Okinawa, but this trip made us realize how wonderful it is to take things slowly in Naha. If we have another chance to visit Naha, we would love to stay here again.

I have visited Okinawa many times, and this was my second stay at this Hotel. My wife and family were very satisfied this time as well. The location is great, and the Room is spacious and clean. Excellent location

The hotel is conveniently located near the airport and very clean. The breakfast buffet, featuring Okinawan cuisine and seafood rice bowls, was delightful, with a wide variety of bread options that satisfied our entire family. We couldn't make a reservation for dinner at the hotel, so we booked a nearby izakaya ourselves. However, we were informed one week prior that dinner could be arranged at the hotel. It would have been better if we had received this notice earlier. Nonetheless, both evenings were enjoyable. Being just a 0-minute walk to Kokusai Street allowed us to fully enjoy our time after meals. One minor disappointment was that the bathtub water temperature setting was low, making it slightly chilly during both nights of our stay.

    The Room was excellent, but

I felt disappointed with the cleanliness and customer service. I understand that each Hotel may have different service manuals, but it seemed like the staff were overwhelmed with tasks. While they were very polite and smiled warmly, they didn’t make eye contact when working on the system (computer), which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, there was a large white stain or stuck-on dirt on the curtain next to the bed, which I noticed after closing it before sleeping. This made me feel very uncomfortable as I went to bed. The club lounge lacked excitement or a special atmosphere; it felt more like just enjoying the space itself. However, the teppanyaki restaurant "Matsu-O" where we had lunch at the end of our stay was absolutely fantastic! Both the food and service were excellent, making for an enjoyable and comfortable time to conclude our visit. I would love to come back for another try! Thank you for hosting us during our stay!
