    An Accommodation where both dogs and their owners can enjoy their stay

    For dog lovers, traveling can be a challenge. This time we chose an Accommodation where our dog could stay too, and it was a great success. The Room was spacious enough to spend time comfortably with a small dog. The Room was very clean, and the property had lots of Japanese art—like a small museum. We enjoyed the indoor bath, open-air bath, sauna, and cold plunge while admiring the stunning tile murals on the walls. And the biggest highlight was the meals. We upgraded our plan, and it was truly excellent—beautifully prepared and delicious. We did feel that beer and other drinks were a bit pricey. The service was polite, and even the international staff were attentive, so we were very comfortable throughout our stay. This is an Accommodation we will definitely return to.

    A Treat for Yourself

    First of all, the cleanliness of the Hotel’s Rooms and other Facilities was very, very good. I stayed for three nights and treated myself by taking an Obon holiday at this Hotel. It was an Obon holiday filled with gratitude for the food and all the staff. The Onsen was also wonderful, and I felt genuine care in every detail, including the free ice pops after bathing. Thank you for such a wonderful trip with my dog. I will come again, and I look forward to staying with you then as well.

    Save as a favorite and book again

    They always provide a comfortable stay. The Room, Onsen, and entire property are always kept clean, so I feel refreshed every time. When I visit Hakone, I will stay here again.

    We had an amazing holiday with our two dogs.

    The Room was clean with no odors at all, and our dogs were able to relax comfortably. We also enjoyed our meals at a leisurely pace, and everything was delicious. We could take our time in the bath and soak as many times as we liked, and the ice cream and fruit vinegar drinks after bathing were great too. I thought it would be even better if the water were cloudy. We would love to stay again.

    We used this for an adults-only trip.

    I thought I had made a Reservation for a slightly nicer Room, but around 5:00 p.m. I occasionally heard loud thumping noises and what sounded like chairs or tables being dragged from a nearby Room, which made it a bit unsettling at times. As for the baths, both the in-room open-air bath and the large public bath were around 40°C. Personally, I would have preferred them a little hotter. I was told that the temperature of the in-room open-air bath can be adjusted upon request at the front desk, but this time I used it as is. If you prefer hotter water, it may be worth asking in advance. Other than that, it was a very satisfying stay. The staff were courteous and warm, and the Accommodation had a calm atmosphere. I rarely ran into other guests and was able to relax at my own pace. For dinner we enjoyed a Japanese kaiseki course; each dish was beautifully presented and perfect to savor slowly with drinks. Everything looked vibrant and left a lasting impression. Breakfast was also excellent, and we were able to enjoy our stay comfortably until the very end. I stayed here on a trip with an old friend this time, but I think it’s also an ideal Accommodation for making memories with loved ones—families, married couples, or couples alike. If I have another chance, I would love to return.

    I stayed with my dog...

    I stayed with my dog. The Hotel was spotless and comfortable throughout. Many paintings by Masami Kanma are displayed inside, making it feel like a small art museum. I also appreciated the ice cream after the bath. The creative Japanese cuisine was delicious across the board. I usually imagine there are more female staff, but this Hotel had many male staff members, and everyone was very gentlemanly, pleasant, and kind. I’d love to stay again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    It was a comfortable stay.

    The welcome and front desk staff were very attentive, the Hotel was kept clean throughout, and we had a comfortable stay. Since retiring, my wife and I travel a few times a month, and this year we have been going to Hakone consistently twice a month. We have found several Hotels we would like to return to, and I think this will be one of them as well. However, we were concerned about the pace of dinner service this time. The dishes took quite a while to arrive; by the time there were three courses left, 1 hour and 20 minutes had passed, and we still didn’t feel full at that point. The number of dishes and the taste were both satisfactory, but it seemed there may not have been enough staff. We asked for the remaining three courses to be served all at once and ended up satisfied, but I believe improving the timing would make the experience even better.

    Wonderful hospitality

    Thank you for taking care of us for two nights. I chose this Accommodation on the recommendation of a friend who works at a travel agency, and the hospitality was outstanding. Because I’m not comfortable in enclosed spaces, I thought I had selected a larger Room, but it didn’t have much depth and I started to feel a bit uneasy, so you kindly guided me to a more spacious Room. You showed me several Rooms and helped me choose one that made me feel at ease—I can’t thank you enough. The meals and the bath were wonderful as well, but above all, the service was exceptional. The front desk staff member was truly warm and personable. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The meals are outstanding.

    All staff were always smiling and answered our questions as thoroughly as possible, so we were very satisfied. Every meal was delicious; the gentle seasoning and beautifully presented dishes that were a pleasure to look at gave us a brief escape from everyday life. This has become one Accommodation we would like to visit again if we have the chance.

    It was my first time staying here!

    Until last year, I stayed at a company retreat facility, but this year I stayed at a privately run Hotel for the first time. I chose this place because it is new, well located, and offers a No Meals Included plan. The staff were truly wonderful, everything was spotless and well maintained, and I had a very comfortable stay. I would like to stay here again next time.

    I was disappointed!

    Because this was a last-minute one-night stay, I didn’t have time to compare many Accommodations and ended up booking on impulse with only the bare minimum requirements. What concerned me were some of the Room photos, so I checked in feeling a bit uneasy. However, the moment I entered the Room, all my worries disappeared! It was a wonderful Room and exceeded my expectations in the best possible way. Thank you very much. I’ll be back again.

    It was a great Accommodation, just as the Reviews said.

    I stayed in June, and since it was the off-season there were few guests, so I was able to relax. The Onsen in particular felt like a private bath, and I could soak in peace—it was the best. The vinegar drink in the post-bath lounge was also delicious, and I had several cups. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful, and the staff’s attentiveness was excellent. This has become one of the Accommodations I’d like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much for all your help.

    A lovely accommodation.

    I stayed here on a solo trip. The Room was very clean, and I was able to relax quietly at my own pace. What impressed me most was the food—both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Since the dining area had partitions, I could enjoy my meal comfortably without worrying about other guests, and savor everything at my own pace. The staff were kind and attentive while keeping a comfortable distance, which made the stay very pleasant. Thanks to them, I could forget my daily fatigue and had the best holiday. Next time, if my budget allows, I’d like to stay in a Room with an open-air bath.

    A hot spring (Onsen) getaway as a birthday gift for my 72-year-old husband.

    For a special celebration, we planned to stay at a Hotel in Hakone that was as close to home as possible, yet felt like a small escape from everyday life with a touch of luxury. Inside the Hotel, I was amazed by the sheer number of artworks. Since I’ve always loved museums, it was wonderfully stimulating for all my senses. The garden was well maintained, though the space was small, so we took our time and enjoyed it at a relaxed pace. There was an Onsen in our Room as well, but we visited the large public bath many times thanks to its abundant hot water, and all our fatigue melted away at once. The complimentary ice cream after bathing was also a lovely treat. The private dining Room for breakfast and dinner was quiet and peaceful, allowing us to spend unhurried time together as a couple and create truly satisfying memories. We were also grateful for everyone’s kind and thoughtful hospitality. Thank you very much for the birthday message at dinner and even the photo.

    I stayed here again.

    My previous stay was very comfortable, so I chose to stay again. Both the common areas and the room were thoroughly cleaned, and I had a pleasant stay. The Onsen temperature is well managed at a level that feels comfortable for anyone, and it is kept very clean. I have stayed at various Hotels in Hakone, and many of them provide moisturizing body soap that feels slippery and is hard to rinse off. I think women may appreciate it, but many men prefer a refreshing type, so even with alternating men’s and women’s bathing times, it would be nice to have two types of body soap available.

    A Quiet Accommodation

    We stayed as three guests—my elderly mother, my sister, and me. It felt like a calm, adults-only Accommodation. From the Room and the bath, we could enjoy a beautifully maintained garden. We chose an upgraded meal plan, and everything—the taste, the selection, and the presentation—was excellent; we enjoyed it all to the very end. The service was also courteous, and overall we were very satisfied with our stay, but there was one disappointing point: the Room. It was a Japanese-style bed twin Room with one futon already laid out in advance in the tatami area, so there was honestly hardly any space to walk. We couldn’t even open the closet unless it was moved out of the way. I think it would be fine for two people, but for three it felt quite cramped. Next time, we would like to stay in a different Room. Thank you very much.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality again. The staff were courteous, and the Room, meals, and bath were all excellent, making our stay very comfortable. However, I would have preferred the welcome grape juice to be 100% juice if possible. We would definitely like to visit again.

    A Wonderful Two-Day Stay

    Due to Room availability, we were upgraded to a Room with a private open-air bath. We didn’t have any particular sightseeing plans and just wanted to relax in the Room—reading and enjoying the bath—so it turned into a wonderful stay. The Room was very clean, and soaking in the open-air bath on the terrace was fantastic. Afterward, I relaxed on the terrace sofa, read while having a beer, watched a pheasant fly by up close, and listened to birdsong. It was the perfect retreat. We only had breakfast. It was well balanced, and the grated yam (tororo) was especially delicious—I even had an extra serving of rice, which is rare for me. After breakfast, I made coffee with the in-Room Nespresso machine and enjoyed it while reading in the gazebo. Even without doing any other sightseeing, that time alone made the trip to Hakone worthwhile. Checkout at 11:00 also allowed for a relaxed morning. You could really feel that all of the staff genuinely wanted guests to have a comfortable stay, which made for such a heartwarming experience. This time I traveled solo, but next time I’d like to come with my family. And if you’re deciding based on the price difference between a standard Room and one with an open-air bath, I absolutely recommend choosing the one with an open-air bath—it’s great value even with that upgrade.

    The meals were delicious, but…

    The Room smelled musty, like mold. I could hear loud footsteps from upstairs or next door. The connecting corridor between buildings is open-air; in winter you may get chilled after bathing, and in summer you may be bothered by mosquitoes.

    It was a great accommodation.

    I stayed here during Golden Week. I have visited Hakone several times, but this was my first time staying in Sengokuhara. With the Shuttle Service between Gora Station and the Hotel, I didn’t feel inconvenienced even without a car. The building is still quite new and was very clean and well maintained. There were plenty of drinks and amenities provided in the Room, so nothing was lacking. I also appreciated being able to change the in-house wear to size S. In particular, the staff member who assisted us during our meals was excellent. With just the right level of attentiveness, we were able to fully enjoy the delicious food. At the end of the meal, they spoke with us in a friendly manner, and their wonderful service left a lasting impression. Although it rained during our time in Hakone, we had a great stay thanks to the Onsen, food, service, Facility, and more. Thank you very much.

    Wonderful

    We stayed one night in a Room with an open-air bath with our dog. The Room was very clean and comfortable. The large public bath offered various types of baths, and the hot spring water suited our body very well. We enjoyed it many times, alternating with the bath in the Room. We also enjoyed high-quality Japanese cuisine. The staff were very helpful as well. Next time, we would like to stay a little longer.

    This was my first stay, and from the moment I stepped through the door of this Accommodation, I was welcomed by a refreshing fragrance and enjoyed a wonderfully comfortable stay throughout. The meals were a delight for both the eyes and the palate. The Onsen had a light, smooth quality at just the right temperature, and the open-air bath was wonderful. Personally, I was especially happy that the vinegar drink prepared outside the large public bath was delicious. I had planned to visit The Hakone Open-Air Museum Glass Forest the next day, and at check-in you kindly offered Shuttle Service there. Although it is said to be about a 10–15 minute walk, it is an uphill road without sidewalks, so I truly appreciated it. If I have another chance to visit Hakone, I would love to stay here again.

    I chose this Accommodation because the Reviews were good. What I liked was the Shuttle Service, the hospitality, and how beautiful the garden was. The Shuttle Service happened to be private, which made it very comfortable. The hospitality was also polite and excellent. The garden had many different kinds of plants and felt very relaxing. The birdsong was beautiful as well. Also, the large public bath was not crowded, and there were times when it felt like having it to ourselves, which we really enjoyed. What disappointed me was the smell in the large public bath. The one with tatami had a damp odor lingering in the air, which was unfortunate. I was also disappointed to see cigarette butts on the garden area by the open-air bath. During meals, I appreciated that staff were always nearby, but it made me feel like I was being watched all the time, and the pace of serving dishes was very fast, so I couldn’t enjoy it slowly. As for the open-air bath in our Room, I’m not sure whether it was white floating debris or something from the Onsen minerals, but it felt a bit dirty to me. Because my expectations were high due to all the positive Reviews, these disappointing points stood out more than they otherwise might have. It was a lovely and comfortable Accommodation overall, so I would be happy if these areas could be improved.

    The meals are excellent.

    The meals were outstanding in every way—the menu, the portions, and the taste. The soup, sashimi, and shabu-shabu were all delicious. We also really appreciated your accommodating ingredients we don’t eat. The temperature of the open-air bath in our Room was perfect both at night and in the morning, and very relaxing. However, since it was windy, it would be even better if there were a bit more of a windbreak wall on the balcony. Having sliding doors with no steps was reassuring for elderly guests, but we could hear the sound of doors opening and closing—whether from next door or from the Room below—and it echoed while we were sleeping, making it hard to fall asleep. Would it be possible to add something like cushioning to prevent noise? Because the corridor from the annex to the main building is outdoors, it was very cold. We also weren’t sure whether the coats provided there were for staff or available for guests to use. Checkout via machine was quick and convenient, but we felt a little sad not having anyone see us off.

    My birthday became a sad memory.

    I made a Reservation for a birthday trip. Even though I noted it was for a birthday at the time of booking, and my companion also called to say it was my birthday, we didn’t receive even a single “happy birthday.” It seems a birthday plate had been requested by phone, but nothing came out even after we finished our meal. Only after we told the staff member in charge at the dining area did it finally arrive (it looked like it had been prepared and simply forgotten). They also didn’t confirm whose birthday it was and served the plate to my companion, who wasn’t the one celebrating. The kakiage fritter and even the black tea served at the end were all lukewarm and cold. I told them I don’t like fatty meat or fish, but they served shabu-shabu meat that was almost entirely fat, which made me feel very sad. The Reviews were good so I was really looking forward to it, but it turned into the worst birthday.
