    It was lively!

    This was our second stay at Kyoritsu Resort, following our visit to Shiobara Onsen. This time, it was a Saturday, so there were many children, making it lively and bustling. The system of placing shoes in the shoe locker by ourselves felt a bit inconvenient for us as a couple in our 80s, which made us feel like we might have chosen the wrong option. During our previous stay at Shiobara Onsen, we had a room with an open-air bath, so the difference this time was slightly disappointing. We are grateful for your prompt response regarding the forgotten item!

    It was excellent!

    This was my first time staying here, and I was delighted by the warm smiles of everyone, the cleanliness of the ryokan, the cozy atmosphere, and the elegant fragrance. The welcome drink was delicious, and I truly appreciated the unexpected hospitality. Although this stay did not include meals, the light snacks were very tasty, making me want to try a meal-inclusive plan next time. My friend also loved it and said, "Let's stay here again when we visit Kyoto" and "Next time, let's visit Kyoritsu Resort in Hakone too." It is such a wonderful hotel with a warm atmosphere that I would love to return. Thank you for an amazing experience!

    The private bath was...

    The private bath was free, and the Room was great. I didn't realize this was part of the Dormy Inn chain. However, as expected of Kyoto, it was full of foreign tourists. The staff seemed to be struggling with handling foreign guests; their responses were curt no matter what I asked. The usual polite service that Dormy Inn is known for was completely absent. It's a shame because the Facility itself is excellent.

    Absolutely perfect. ...

    Absolutely perfect. Arrived exhausted in the heat, but the staff were all very welcoming, and there was a wide variety of welcome drinks. The large public bath was luckily empty, and it was so spacious! While the outdoor bath had cold water, the indoor bath was onsen, leaving my skin smooth. Both dinner and the breakfast buffet were delicious. It's hard to make a reservation during peak season, but I’ll visit again in autumn.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I thought it was a wonderful accommodation after a long time. The free distribution of night ramen and ice cream added an element of nighttime attraction, which the children thoroughly enjoyed, and above all, it was delicious. I would love to stay again if I have the chance.

    We stayed as a family. The meals were delicious, and the kids' meal was luxurious. The large public bath was clean, and the water temperature was just right, allowing children to relax comfortably. The staff in the facility were kind and made our stay very pleasant. Although we didn’t use it, we would have liked to try the private bath if it had a washing area.

    It had been a while ...

    It had been a while since I last visited Kyoto, so I really wanted to stay here again... The woman at the front desk was very pleasant, and it made me feel that this would be another enjoyable stay. The tatami flooring throughout from the entrance was so comfortable and truly made me feel like I was back at Kaden Sho. We also had dinner inside the Accommodation and were able to relax without going anywhere. However, there is one point I’d like to mention. With the increase in international guests, I understand there are differences in customs, but a few things concerned me. Some guests wore Room toilet slippers around the building, or walked around in flip-flops, etc... It was disappointing that they did not seem to understand the meaning of having tatami throughout the entire building. If possible, it would be helpful to provide an explanation; it was especially disappointing to see them walk past staff without being reminded. I hope I won’t have to see such scenes next time.

    Overall, I am satisfied, but...

    The Room's air conditioner had a malfunction with the vertical swing, and the cool air directly hit the bed, making it quite difficult to sleep. Additionally, in the morning, the building, especially the breakfast area, was hot. Other than that, it was a very nice Ryokan-like Hotel.

    The facility is excellent.

    Stayed for one night before the Gion Festival. The new Hotel had modern and excellent Room and Facility features. The bath, including both the large bathtub and open-air bath, was very comfortable, with four family baths available as well—highly satisfying. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and the staff's service was excellent. However, there were some drawbacks: no view from the Room at all (likely Rooms 01 and 02). Shoes must be stored in a shoe locker at the entrance, with keys handed to the front desk; exchanging them for Room keys every time you go out is inconvenient. The location is one station away from Kyoto Station on the Sagano Line, but note that train frequency is limited.

    Family-friendly, including for young children

    We chose this place, advertised as having natural Onsen, for the final night of our week-long trip to Kyoto. However, the water's texture and lower temperature made us question if it was truly an Onsen. It left us disappointed. For 10,000 yen per person per night, it felt overpriced. Additionally, while it may be unavoidable, many front desk staff appeared to be from neighboring countries. Their customer service was fine but they were not familiar with Kyoto's geography. For example, they did not know about Pontocho on two occasions we asked for directions. On the positive side: The basket bags available during bathing and the separate loungewear in addition to yukata were convenient. The complimentary late-night ramen and post-bath ice cream were nice touches as well. Breakfast had a wide variety of options but wasn’t compelling enough for a repeat visit. My husband shared exactly the same impression; we feel this place is more suitable for young travelers without specific preferences or families with small children.

    Check-in takes a lon...

    Check-in takes a long time. I understand that many guests are from overseas, but even when there is a line for check-in, once one group is finished, the front desk staff start doing something else and act as if they don’t notice the crowd. It’s the same every time.

    I revisited because ...

    I revisited because I had a great experience during my previous stay. The facility is spacious, the bath is large, and the service was excellent this time as well. However, given the current times, most guests were not Japanese, which made me feel somewhat out of place. There were many disappointing moments regarding bath manners, but I understand that there are things beyond the accommodation's control, so I don't intend to complain about it... It's a challenging situation.

    The service was excellent, and I had a comfortable stay. I had lost my necklace in the bathroom and thought it was gone, but the staff handled the situation sincerely, and it was returned to me. I am very grateful for this attitude, which also reflected in the delicious meals and their presentation—everything was delightful. The cleanliness of the Room, the comfort of the facilities, and the kind and attentive service were all outstanding, making my stay truly enjoyable.

    Unfortunately, it was raining, but the location was close to the station and umbrellas were available for rent, which was very helpful. The entire building has tatami flooring, and the decorative furnishings in various places were very charming. Of course, the Room was also very clean. Since dinner was scheduled later in the evening, we first headed to the large public bath. There were various options such as indoor baths, open-air baths, lying-down baths, and stone saunas to enjoy. There are five private open-air baths available; their availability is easy to check with light indicators and there are waiting areas as well—very convenient! We used two of them early in the morning; both were spacious and allowed us to relax fully. For dinner, our server brought out dishes at just the right timing. The portions were more than enough and everything tasted delicious! Breakfast also offered a wide variety of choices that left us completely satisfied. However, I forgot to borrow a yukata (Japanese robe), so I couldn’t wear one—what a pity! Also, I missed out on having an ice cream bar after bathing in the morning since only probiotic drinks with time restrictions seemed available then.

    It was very beautiful.

    I made a Reservation because I wanted a nearby Onsen for my elderly mother. I was amazed by the large public bath and open-air bath, and even found a reclining bath that allowed me to relax! The meals had various elaborate menus, and the enthusiastic staff explained everything diligently. Drinks were reasonably priced, which was great. Parking is available for about 1500 yen per night if you make a Reservation. The location is convenient as it seems close to the station, with a Starbucks, bakery, and convenience store nearby. The free private Onsen was also wonderful. Since I liked "Tsukiyo no Usagi" near Izumo Taisha Shrine, this Hotel with its similar atmosphere was equally delightful!

    This was my first time staying here. Although there were some services I couldn't use due to time constraints, I thoroughly enjoyed the free drinks, late-night soba, and ice cream! The Onsen was also not crowded, allowing me to relax and enjoy it at my own pace. I only had breakfast during my stay. The foot area of the table resembling a sunken kotatsu was slightly dirty, so I rated that part 3 stars. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance!

    The private bath was excellent.

    The entire building is tatami-floored, providing a relaxing atmosphere. However, leaving the shoe locker key at the front desk can be inconvenient when going out. We chose a smaller twin Room, so it was as expected. The low ceiling felt slightly disappointing. We used the private bath in the evening and early morning, which was very relaxing. As for meals, there was one disappointing issue during dinner. A dish listed on the menu did not appear. When we asked the staff, they said it was an order-only dish and not usually served. Then why include it on the menu? They simply said that the menu was incorrect... This level of service left us speechless...

    Solo traveler review. The room was a double for single use, spacious and comfortable. Although the Kameyama Onsen was underwhelming last time, the dinner and breakfast at the second-floor dining area exceeded expectations. Breakfast offered a surprising variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes. About 60-70% of guests were Asian, suggesting high international ratings. Since the room only had a shower, I used the large public bath and one of the five private baths available; however, they were very crowded. The baths are filtered and recirculated rather than free-flowing onsen water, which raised hygiene concerns for me—so I only used them once. Upon entry to the accommodation, shoes are stored away and guests walk barefoot inside on artificial tatami mats—a feature that may divide opinions. The location is convenient near the station with attractions like a railway museum and an aquarium nearby—perfect for sightseeing!

    Popular accommodation for inbound travelers

    The impression is that there are many foreign guests. Only about 30% are Japanese, so it doesn't have a calm atmosphere. The facility is new, with plenty of free services, and the meals were satisfactory but not particularly memorable. Although the Onsen is a highlight, only one set of towels is provided, which was disappointing. There are no towels in the public bath either. Having only one room key was very inconvenient. Some foreign guests use the private baths for long periods, making it hard to find availability. Small frustrations accumulated and lowered overall satisfaction.

    It's amazing.

    We stayed to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We were surprised by the various free services, including drink service, late-night snacks, and ice cream. The meals in the morning and evening were made with fresh ingredients and were so delicious that we couldn't finish them. The private bath was excellent. Everything from the Room to the Onsen was perfect. The staff's response was pleasant with smiles, making us decide to repeat our visit. We appreciated all the thoughtful gestures, and my daughter was thrilled with her best birthday ever. We will definitely come again. Thank you very much.

    More than just a price...

    This time, we stayed in a Deluxe Twin room. As I mentioned in the title, everything was more than worth the price, just like in a certain company's commercial. The interior of the property is new and clean, and the guest rooms adhere to 4S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize). We were satisfied with the large public bath and found the food to be very delicious. Although there were quite a few guests, service was prompt and efficient; we especially appreciated how quickly they responded to our drink orders during meals. The location is also excellent; we drove from Osaka and arrived in less than an hour. Even though it was before noon when we arrived, they allowed us to park so that we could leisurely explore Kyoto. Since there's a JR station right in front of the property, early next morning when it was less crowded, we took a train to visit places like Gion. Overall, we were satisfied and left saying "Let's stay here again" with my wife. If I had to point out any dissatisfaction: there were many guests staying at once—especially young people from abroad—which made it difficult for us to relax inside as if on vacation mode due perhaps because this is Kyoto after all? Also noted by someone else’s review: there weren’t towels or hand wipes available inside toilets which has always been provided wherever else we've stayed before—is there some reason behind this?

    This place is addictive.

    This is a Facility I often visit on a whim. The main attraction is definitely the five private baths. They are amazing. This time, I could only go twice because of the fluffy futon, but it was very warming. Thank you very much. Photography is prohibited in the baths, so please check them out on the website!

    Last year, I visited...

    Last year, I visited Koun of the same Kyoritsu Resort and had a great experience, so I decided to try Ume-Koji Kadensho nearby! I used it for a solo trip. In addition to the welcome drink, there were plenty of things to eat besides meals, such as the lounge snacks and Yonaki Soba, so I was full all day long. The private bath is popular, so it was difficult to get in, but I was happy that I finally conquered it early in the morning. The large public bath also has a mist sauna and bedrock bath, so I enjoyed myself too much inside the Property and didn't leave once after checking in. Although it was a solo trip, they arranged quiet places for me like my Room location and seating at dining areas, making my stay truly comfortable. I'd love to use it again.

    Overall, I am satisfied.

    It might be inevitable in this day and age, but the large number of inbound tourists made it difficult to feel at ease.
