    This was my second stay.

As always, the staff were kind, and everything was simply wonderful—the lounge atmosphere, matcha lattes, ice cream, and the many baths. Of course, the late-night soba was delicious too! I’d love to come every month, and I’ll definitely be back!

    Extremely satisfied!

I suddenly got some time off and decided on a trip to Kyoto. Since I made the Reservation the day before, it was almost fully booked and I couldn’t choose the Room type, but the price was reasonable so I went ahead and booked it. The building was very clean, and I was happy that the bath was an Onsen! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious—I was completely satisfied. In addition to the welcome drink, there were lots of free services to enjoy, which made it feel like a great deal… All of the staff were friendly, so I had a very comfortable stay. It was a last-minute trip, but I’m truly glad I stayed here. Super, super satisfied!!! One more thing: the aroma scent used inside the property smelled wonderful and helped me relax even more. Thank you very much.

    It’s a very clean Ho...

It’s a very clean Hotel. They attached the shoe locker key to the Room key so it wouldn’t get lost. I was surprised it isn’t an auto-lock system these days, and having only one key is a bit inconvenient. Other than that, the amenities, service, and Facility were all great, and having tatami throughout the Hotel was comfortable. The large bath, open-air bath, and private bath are very relaxing. The meals and ingredients were excellent, and additional obanzai dishes were free of charge. There were many options at the breakfast buffet; I wanted to try more but got full too quickly and regretted not being able to eat everything. It’s a Hotel I want to visit again and again, so if possible, I’d be happy to see more plan options—for example, day-use plans or one-night stays with dinner—so it’s easier to use casually.

It was a very nice accommodation.

We stayed here for a 1-night, 2-day trip to Kyoto with two grandparents in our 60s, a 7-year-old girl, and a 5-year-old boy. The kids were thrilled that once we took off our shoes at check-in, they could walk (and even run) around the building barefoot. The entire property was spotless and very well maintained, so we felt comfortable throughout our stay. The Room was also clean and a good size (a four-bed Room). Not having a bathtub was no problem at all—in fact, it meant there was more living space in the Room, which was another big plus. Since we stayed on a Saturday, we expected the large public bath to be crowded, but it wasn’t too busy. We were able to relax and soak three times—after check-in, after dinner, and before breakfast—which was wonderful. The longer bathing hours are also a great point. We also used the private bath; after a short wait it was our turn, and we had a great time splashing around with the two kids. Dinner is served in two seatings (either starting at 5:30 PM or 7:30 PM). We chose the 5:30 PM seating, and it didn’t feel rushed at all. The timing of each dish being served was perfect—and most importantly, the food was far better than we expected (sorry!). All four of us were very satisfied. At breakfast, there’s an announcement asking guests to stagger their visit times; thanks to that (and with plenty of seating and spacious layout), it never felt overly crowded and we could enjoy our meal at ease. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. This time we chose this Accommodation (our first stay) because our grandchildren wanted to visit Kyoto Aquarium and the Railway Museum nearby—and it turned out to be an excellent choice with nothing to complain about. We’d love to stay again. Highly recommended. Thank you very much. P.S.) I called earlier about my grandchild’s forgotten hat as well—the staff member who answered handled it kindly too, which made us like this place even more.

    Warm and welcoming hospitality.

I traveled with my 2-year-old niece. Our main destination was Kyoto Aquarium, so it was very helpful that we could use the parking lot until 12:00 even after check-out. The first dolphin show starts at 11:30, so you do have to hurry back afterward, but the aquarium itself is quite compact and we were able to see everything before the show. Since it was during the Obon holiday period, they held a festival-style event in the lobby. My niece looked happy when the kind staff spoke to her. The private Onsen baths don’t have washing areas, which can be inconvenient, but because guests don’t stay long, there was always one available when we wanted one even during peak season. Because my niece moves a lot in her sleep and I expected she would fall off the bed, I requested Hollywood-style beds pushed together. However, at check-in we were told it wasn’t possible because all floors are tatami throughout the property. We were also told that all bed guards were already reserved. If they couldn’t accommodate my request, I wish they had informed me earlier. Both beds had one side against a wall, so I decided to have her sleep on the wall side—but in reality she kept kicking the wall and likely disturbed the next Room, and she rolled around and fell off during the night. She was fine afterward, but families with children should be aware. When I left something behind and contacted them, they promptly sent it to me cash on delivery. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

I’m skeptical about the positive reviews—I never want to go again.

The natural Onsen is available only in the indoor public bath and in just 2 of the 5 private bath Rooms. Because it is a recirculating system, even though it is an Onsen, there was a strong chlorine smell.... In the private baths, you can clearly hear noise from next door. I heard a child saying “I need to pee,” followed by “Just do it there and flush well,” which was shocking. Children were splashing and kicking around loudly in the bath, and the water quality seemed poor, so I felt uncomfortable unless I took a shower after bathing. There is no coin laundry, so a Multiple Night Stay in summer is tough. There is no eco-cleaning option; if you choose no cleaning, there are also no replacements for towels, samue loungewear, or toothbrushes. (Normally a full set is left at the entrance.) Even considering that it was summer vacation and there were many families with children, this is a Hotel I never want to visit again.

It was great being close to the station.

I was looking for a Ryokan with an Onsen not far from Kyoto Station. It’s still a fairly new Ryokan, and the Room was clean and nice. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options, and everything was delicious. When I arrived, I left my suitcase with the staff, but it didn’t arrive even after I got to my Room, so I had to call and ask them to bring it up—this was the only disappointing part. I was able to relax in the Onsen, so I’d like to stay here again when I travel to Kyoto.

    We’re sorry to hear that.

This was extremely unhelpful. I was surprised, as this is unusual for the Dormy Inn group. I arrived at the Hotel early, and it was raining due to a typhoon, so I went inside planning to wait at the front desk until check-in time, but a female staff member told me something like “Please leave your luggage and go out.” Even though other guests were waiting… At check-in, the explanation was insufficient, and they initially gave me only one Room key; when I asked if there was only one, they then prepared another. In shared areas such as the front desk, restaurant, and hallways, children were running around loudly; staff saw it but did not warn them at all. I went looking forward to using the large public bath and private baths, but there were many guests with poor manners and staff did not intervene, so it was unpleasant and I did not use them. The restaurant staff were chatting while laughing loudly even though it is an open kitchen. Even when I asked questions, they answered carelessly with “Probably…” When I requested refills/replacements, they replenished different items than what I had asked for. Every day felt stressful. I should have chosen a Dormy Inn group Hotel near Kyoto Station instead.

It was a very kind and welcoming accommodation.

I have stayed at various Kyoritsu Resort properties before, but this was my first time at this Accommodation. Despite my last-minute Reservation, I was very happy to receive a Room upgrade. The private bath was also available, and I was able to relax thoroughly. Breakfast offered a good variety and was delicious. If I have plans to visit Kyoto again, I would like to make another Reservation.

The bath and lounge were incredibly relaxing.

In the lounge, we enjoyed matcha lattes and a variety of teas, and we also made the most of the baths—from the large public bath to the private reservable bath. We’ll be back again!

It was quite crowded because it was Saturday.

The Kyoritsu Resort Group was great—its private baths are easy to find and use, the location is convenient, and you can make a Reservation for parking.

It feels geared toward foreign guests, and poor manners among some international visitors stand out. The rates are expensive for June.\nService and hospitality have also declined.

    This is my second time.

Last year, we stayed for one night during Golden Week as well. Since it’s only about an hour from home, we chose it thinking that even with traffic, the trip wouldn’t be too tiring. The large public bath is very spacious, and I really like it. The staff are relatively young, but they respond properly. The Hotel is also clean and well maintained. This year we booked late and ended up with a standard twin Room, but we reserved two Rooms in the same category and they placed them next to each other. However, one Room was a corner Room with part of the layout jutting out for some reason, making it feel small, and the TV was very hard to watch from there—I really disliked that. We only noticed because we booked two Rooms, but it also seemed like the TV sizes were different... The meals were delicious. Breakfast was crowded and we waited a bit, but since everything was well managed, we were seated in about 15 minutes. I’ve visited Izumo Tsukiyo no Usagi several times because I like it, and this place feels similar. It has a Japanese-style atmosphere with an Onsen, it’s new and clean, and families can enjoy their stay here.

    Basically satisfied.

My husband and I stayed here a little while ago. The staff were very helpful, and we were happy to have our Room upgraded. However, the changing area of the large public bath was extremely hot. Most Onsen and even public bathhouses are designed to stay cool even in winter, but it was so hot that we started sweating again right after feeling refreshed. Some guests seemed to feel unwell, so I think this should be addressed. Also, although it can’t be helped with many international guests, there were often poor manners, which made the large public bath unpleasant. Other than that, everything was good.

    At Kyoto Umekoji Kadenmyo Accommodation

This was my third stay at Umekoji Kaden Myo. Above all, I was looking forward to the kaiseki dinner. Once again, it fully met my expectations. The bath was also an Onsen, and it left my skin feeling smooth. On my next trip to Kyoto, I will definitely stay here again.

Even elderly parents will be satisfied.

Traveling with someone who has experienced a femur fracture comes with many concerns, such as the toilet and bath, but this Accommodation was comfortable overall. In particular, the toilet and bath are spacious enough to be truly appreciated even from the caregiver’s perspective for a wheelchair user. I have stayed at many Hotels, but there are very few that offer such comfortable bathroom facilities at this Accommodation Fee. It would be rated even higher if the Room were equipped with a coffee maker and individually wrapped tea bags such as black tea and roasted green tea (hojicha). There are free drinks in the lobby, but for those who are not strong on their feet, going to get them each time is quite difficult. At the very least, it would be helpful if individually wrapped tea bags like those available at breakfast could also be offered in the amenities area for guests to choose from.

    Cleaning was a bit disappointing.

I arrived with high expectations, because the Kyoritsu Resort in Hakodate was excellent. But when I was shown to my Room, the first thing I noticed was hair on the floor—both in the toilet and in the Room. I wondered if it hadn’t been cleaned. They changed my Room, but there was still hair again. I didn’t want to deal with it anymore, so I put up with it. The front desk service also wasn’t very good. Dis appointing. I don’t think I will stay at this Kyoritsu Resort in Kyoto again.

    Located just one sto...

Located just one stop from Kyoto Station, this Accommodation was very convenient, with an Onsen and tatami-matted corridors that created a calm, refined atmosphere. We had originally made a Reservation for a triple Room, but they kindly upgraded us to a four-person Room at no extra charge because one was available—what a surprise. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and very satisfying. The complimentary services were also exceptional: ice cream after the bath, small dumplings as a light snack, and free late-night soba. All of the staff were wonderful as well. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again. One drawback, however, was poor manners from some foreign guests: trash left in disarray after eating the late-night soba, walking around in emergency outdoor slippers, not lining up restroom slippers properly, careless use of shared items, pushing past others in the elevator, speaking loudly in the corridors, walking while eating ice cream, and so on. It ruined the otherwise lovely atmosphere—stepping out of our Room felt chaotic and unsettling. Would it be possible to encourage better etiquette through brochures or other guidance for international guests? If you are already doing so, I apologize. This is an Accommodation I want to support, so it feels like such a shame.

A conveniently located Ryokan in Kyoto City

Even though it is located in Kyoto city, I really appreciate an Accommodation with a large public bath and excellent services. With checkout at 11:00, you can relax at a leisurely pace. The breakfast offered such a wide variety of options that it was hard to choose, and everything was delicious. Dinner was also very enjoyable. It’s great to have so many menu choices. I would like to stay again.

    Stay here when visiting Kyoto!

Location: One train stop from Kyoto Station. Immediately to the left after exiting the station. Convenient for those who prefer traveling by train or subway, as city bus routes can be crowded. Facilities: As expected from the Kyoritsu Group, the accommodation is well-equipped with amenities and comfortable loungewear, making it easy to travel light. The bath area is particularly spacious and offers a variety of options such as private baths, indoor baths, open-air baths, saunas, stone spas, and reclining baths. Bathing items for children and babies are also available for rent, ensuring a fun experience for families. There’s also a signature post-bath relaxation area unique to Kyoritsu Group. Dining: Breakfast is highly recommended! It was so delicious that I decided to always include breakfast when staying in Kyoto again. The menu offers more variety than other hotel breakfast buffets and includes many Kyoto-style dishes. Thoughtful touches ensure a comfortable dining experience throughout. For dinner, one night was spent dining within the accommodation itself; on another night in November at "Cojicco," a new gourmet spot next to the hotel that had just opened—it was bustling with activity!

We stayed in a room ...

We stayed in a room for four people for two nights. The room had four beds and a perfectly sized sofa corner, allowing us to relax, chat about our trip, and enjoy tea together as a family. The entire facility being tatami-floored was also very comfortable. The meals were plentiful in variety and delicious. With an Onsen included at such a reasonable price, our whole family was amazed! We made wonderful memories. Thank you very much!

The dinner portions are incredibly generous.

The Japanese cuisine was excellent, with both fish and meat dishes being delicious, and the desserts were plentiful, leaving us completely satisfied. We also enjoyed ice cream after the bath and late-night ramen, which made the dining experience even more delightful! However, we couldn't make a reservation for the private bath and had to wait in line, so we decided to skip it this time. Additionally, there were many foreign guests, which caused check-in to take longer than expected. Some hotel staff were working while complaining in front of guests, which was a bit unpleasant. There is room for improvement in these areas.

    Fushimi Sake Brewery Tour

Thank you for your continued patronage. This is our second stay. Last time, we stayed with my daughter's family. The proximity to the Railway Museum and Aquarium, as well as the events inside the hotel, made my grandchildren very happy. This time, I stayed with my husband for a tour of Fushimi's sake breweries. Moreover, we were upgraded to a higher-grade room and were able to relax thoroughly. Thank you very much. However, it was disappointing that we couldn't use the private Onsen due to the high number of foreign guests. Being a hotel near Kyoto Station where you can also enjoy an Onsen, we will definitely stay again when visiting Kyoto!

    We stayed as a family.

We stayed here as a family after a long time. The private bath was excellent, and we would love to use it again. The large public bath was spacious and very satisfying. This time, we used a Room for 4 people, with beds separated for two people each, making our stay comfortable. The meals were also excellent and paired well with drinks. We look forward to coming back again!

    First-time Use

This was my first time staying here. I liked that everything, including the front area, is covered with tatami mats, and the bathing facility was spacious and pleasant. Although I traveled by car this time, I think its proximity to the station is also a great advantage. The only downside was having to wait a bit during check-in due to many foreign tourists, even on a weekday. Other than that, everything was excellent overall, and I would love to stay here again.

    ON THE ROAD2020

The service has improved since last time, but there are still some staff who need improvement.

In April, I had a terrible experience starting from the reception at the lobby, but this time, I was greeted immediately upon entering the premises and was able to check in smoothly. Previously, when I entered the lobby, no one greeted me. When I asked for assistance, there wasn’t even a smile as they instructed me to put my shoes in the shoe rack and wait on the sofa near the front desk. While waiting, they started check-in procedures without informing me. Even though they said someone would call me when it was ready, no one did. Frustrated, I went to the front desk only to be told that "You can now check in..."—I almost decided to leave at that point. This time wasn't particularly amazing; it’s just that last time was so bad by comparison. Other than that issue with service during my previous stay, both times I enjoyed Onsen and meals. However, there is one thing worse than last time: back in April there was beer available at the lounge starting from evening hours; this has since been discontinued. When asking about beer availability this visit ("What time does beer service start?"), a female staff member (again without any smile) replied curtly with "We do not serve beer." When I mentioned that it had been available during my previous visit here: "We do not serve beer," she repeated again verbatim without explanation or warmth whatsoever! Upon further inquiry ("Has it been discontinued?"), her response remained coldly robotic: “Now we only offer sake.” The disparity among staff members' attitudes is too significant at this Hotel—whether due perhaps because many employees are foreign nationals unfamiliar w/ local hospitality norms OR simply understaffing forcing management into hiring less capable workers—I cannot say definitively why such inconsistencies exist but surely believe anyone unable delivering basic courteous responses like apologizing politely explaining changes should reconsider working within customer-facing roles altogether! While initial greeting left positive impression unfortunately overall guest-service rating remains low especially regarding Lounge personnel whose score alone deserves mere 1-point max compared against Restaurant male servers morning cleaning crew whom all consistently smiled warmly exchanged greetings properly reflecting professionalism expected industry-wide standards... Such wasted potential indeed!
