    This is my favorite accommodation!

    Following our stay last autumn, this was our second time at the accommodation. Once again, we were impressed by the excellent service from the staff, the high quality of meals, the blessing of having an onsen, the stunning rooftop lounge with breathtaking views, the meticulous attention to detail in guest rooms and other areas, as well as the convenient access. We truly experienced every comfort imaginable. We were extremely satisfied once again! We look forward to visiting regularly in different seasons. Thank you for your continued hospitality!

    I stayed during the New Year.

    This was my first time staying here, and I was truly impressed by the attentive service from the moment I arrived! The room, bath, terrace, and lounge all had a great atmosphere, and I was very satisfied. The meals were also incredibly delicious! However, one disappointing point was that despite requesting an allergy-friendly meal for shellfish in advance and confirming it again over the phone a few days before our stay, shrimp was not removed from the dish. While crab had been excluded, we noticed this ourselves and my husband ate it instead. Since allergies can be life-threatening, I hope more care will be taken in such cases. Other than that, it was an absolutely wonderful accommodation. I would love to visit again!

    This accommodation offers a perfect balance of hospitality, cuisine, and facilities (Onsen/design/location). First, the hospitality. The staff are friendly, attentive, and skilled in small talk, making guests feel at ease with their cheerful demeanor. They seem to understand that while their tasks may be routine for them, each stay is a special experience for travelers. Upon check-in, the staff provide a thorough tour of the facility with sincere and professional communication that instills confidence. The cuisine conveys the chef's dedication even without meeting them in person. It seems they take pride in ensuring that guests staying for multiple nights are never disappointed. It's rare to find an accommodation where the second night's dining experience surpasses the first. Even ingredients I usually dislike were transformed into exquisite dishes by their skilled hands. From pickled kelp to broth for hot tofu and even fresh fruit served at breakfast—every detail reflects meticulous care and passion. A multiple night stay is highly recommended to fully appreciate this culinary excellence. The private open-air bath in the room is expertly managed by reception to maintain an ideal temperature at all times. The view from both the bath and terrace includes Kyoto-style lanterns along Kiyamachi Street—a charming sight indeed. During my stay, it was a full moon accompanied by snowfall—the first snow of this year. Nearby attractions such as Minami-za Theatre, Yasaka Shrine, Kodaiji Temple, Gion District, Nishiki Market, and Yasaka Pagoda are all within walking distance. Consider taking an early morning stroll when it's less crowded for a serene experience. There’s also an exclusive entrance/exit available only for annex guests—be sure to make use of it!

    A magnificent first-class Hotel

    The meals were delicious, and they quickly prepared the next dish for me, even though I eat fast. The chef is highly experienced. There were too many drinks in the refrigerator, so I couldn't finish them all. Other than that, it’s a wonderful Hotel.

    The terrace footbath and meals are exceptional!

    Conveniently located, you can relax with a foot bath on the terrace and free drinks after returning from city sightseeing. Then, unwind in the bath in your Room before enjoying an incredibly delicious dinner that will leave you amazed! Chatting with the hostess was also delightful. After dinner, warm up in the beautiful large public bath and enjoy a restful sleep. The next morning, savor Kyoto cuisine to your heart's content with options like tea porridge for breakfast. I would love to stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto. Thank you very much!

    This was our first trip with our young grandchild, and we stayed at this villa. The view from the Room was stunning, and both the private bath in the Room and the large public bath were very comfortable. The food was excellent, and although we were initially worried about having a young child with us, being guided to a private dining room allowed us to enjoy a relaxing and delicious meal. It became an unforgettable memory. Thank you very much!

    Relax at the Onsen

    I enjoyed relaxing in the semi-open-air Onsen in the room multiple times in the morning and evening. It's a delightful experience to have this in the heart of Kyoto, just steps away from Gion-Kawaramachi Station. Soaking my feet on the terrace while enjoying a drink and taking in the stunning view was also quite enjoyable. The breakfast was incredibly generous, so much so that I couldn't finish it all, which felt wasteful. It would be nice if there were some options to choose smaller portions.

    Highly Satisfied!

    We visited for our 30th wedding anniversary trip and were delighted to receive celebratory sweets—thank you so much. The dinner was absolutely delicious, featuring seasonal flavors with perfect portions and a well-balanced seasoning—not too strong or too light. Since we enjoy drinking, we tend to eat at a slower pace, but the staff served us patiently without rushing. We were also touched by the warm smiles and congratulatory messages from various staff members saying "Happy Anniversary." It made us very happy. The Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable for relaxing. The private bath in the Room was also very pleasant, allowing us to enjoy it until just before check-out. The open-air bath was incredibly refreshing as well. One small point: when using the rooftop footbath, there were many foreign guests present. While waiting for our turn, someone cut in from the side into an available spot ahead of us. It would be appreciated if measures could be considered for managing such situations during busy times. Overall, it was truly an amazing stay! Although it felt like a bit of a luxury for us this time, we hope to stay for two nights on another occasion if possible. Thank you again for making our special anniversary so memorable!

    Thanks to you, we had a wonderful trip. We stayed for 3 nights and really loved the beautiful hotel. We are considering making another reservation next time. The breakfast was delicious. It was filling and satisfying. However, the dinner was disappointing as it seemed like a variation of the breakfast menu. For guests on a multiple night stay, serving such meals is not ideal in my opinion. The taste might be acceptable for breakfast but not for dinner—it felt subpar at that level. The breakfast service also left an impression as it felt chaotic with different staff bringing dishes one after another, making it hard to relax. Many staff members seemed unsure when asked questions and there were no explanations provided. Perhaps due to lack of experience... The salad consisted of just one slice of tomato, one leaf of lettuce, and one slice of cucumber—likely because they were instructed to serve only one piece each! It was quite poor quality honestly (laughs). Aside from the meals, everything else about our stay was truly pleasant!

    Kyoto is amazing!

    This is the perfect choice for your stay in Kyoto!

    This accommodation is my top choice for staying in Kyoto, often paired with Soraniwa Terrace Kyoto. Great location, excellent onsen, stunning views, and delicious cuisine—everything is perfect here. Honestly, I hesitate to recommend it too much because I don't want it to become overly popular!

    I stayed at my dream Hotel! Although it’s a bit early, I treated myself to a reward trip for working hard this year, and choosing this Hotel was absolutely the right decision.     It was excellent!

    This was my first stay, and everything was excellent—the Room's bath, the footbath terrace, the large public bath, and the hospitality. The sunrise from the footbath terrace was absolutely stunning. Additionally, the location was very convenient, making it easy to go out at night or take a morning walk, allowing me to use my time efficiently.

    The location and the view from the Room were excellent.

    The Room had a private bath and a relaxing space where you could take off your shoes, so I traveled with my mother. We had high expectations given the price, but we were disappointed as the Room was not cleaned properly. The sink drained poorly and quickly filled up, and there were hairs from previous guests on the cushions and carpet, which was unfortunate. Since we stayed for two nights, I left a note for housekeeping, but it seems it didn’t get through? This was the first time I’ve had such an unpleasant experience at this price point. Aside from the cleaning issues, it’s a good Hotel overall, but I really wanted to relax in a clean Hotel.

    Your Favorite Spot in Kyoto

    Once again, the room, Onsen, meals, and service were impeccable, leaving us completely satisfied. This time, we chose a dinner-included plan, and both the food and drinks were exceptional! By chance, we had many shared topics with the general manager during dinner, making it an incredibly enjoyable experience. At the rooftop bar at night, a female staff member kindly checked if I was cold; her hospitality was truly impressive. This is a one-of-a-kind Hotel for Kyoto trips. I will definitely stay here again!

    Scenic accommodation with an onsen (natural hot spring on the premises) along the Kamo River.

    Stayed at an accommodation where you can enjoy Higashiyama, Kamogawa, and Onsen. From the 9th-floor check-in front desk, you can see Minamiza and Kamogawa, while from the 5th-floor corner twin room with a semi-open-air onsen, you can view Higashiyama, Kiyomizu Temple's five-story pagoda, and Ryozen Kannon. The guest room is equipped with towel gowns perfect after an onsen bath as well as yukata and pajamas. The refrigerator contains three half-sized bottles of sparkling wine or wine along with chilled beer, plum wine, and soda water. Enjoyed a blissful moment overlooking Higashiyama. From 4 PM to 7 PM in the evening, complimentary drinks are available at the Sky Garden Terrace on the 9th floor. Depending on your seat choice, you can also enjoy a footbath while savoring delicious drinks against Kyoto's beautiful evening scenery. Shijo Kawaramachi Onsen (not transported but sourced directly from within the property) is heated from its natural temperature of 33°C to a comfortable range of about 41–41.5°C—perfect for soothing tired legs after walking around Ichijoji or Nanzenji Temple. Absolutely satisfied! Loved it so much that I’ve already made another reservation for March!

    Stay to celebrate a friend's birthday.

    Stayed here to celebrate a friend's birthday. There was a lovely gift of cute sweets, which was very touching. The service was excellent. The room had an Onsen, but since it was on the first floor, it felt a bit dim even during the day. Next time, I would like to stay on an upper floor.

    This was my first visit. Located in the heart of Shijo Kawaramachi, it offers excellent access to dining, sightseeing, entertainment, and shopping. The front desk staff were very polite. Although I chose a Plan without breakfast, it was nice to wake up leisurely and enjoy brunch at my own pace. The only downside was that the legs of the chair in the bathroom were not very clean.

    Troubles are sometimes unavoidable, but...

    Stayed for two nights and three days in a separate villa. The stay was comfortable until the last morning when a fire alarm suddenly went off on another floor, causing the elevator to stop and the room lock to malfunction. My spouse and I had to carry heavy luggage down six flights of stairs to the first floor. It turned out to be a false alarm, so we asked staff on the first floor if we could leave our luggage there and check out, but they instructed us to carry our luggage back up to the ninth floor for check-out procedures. We ended up lining up at the regular reception (not in the villa) with our luggage for check-out. While understanding it was an unexpected situation, most of the staff seemed flustered even after confirming it was a false alarm, leaving us frustrated and ruining what should have been an enjoyable trip. As an accommodation of a certain standard, we hope you reflect on what is truly important in such situations. Although we had considered returning in the future, unfortunately, we will not be using this accommodation again.

    Surprisingly Dynamic Night Views of Kyoto

    I visit once a year to enjoy the Kyoto atmosphere, reminiscent of a temple's miniature garden. The night view towards Higashiyama from the top floor this time was breathtakingly powerful and beautiful, unlike anything I’ve experienced before. I wish I could have stayed a little longer.

    The high review rating on IKYU and the convenient location prompted me to give it a try. However, after staying, I found it to be an absolutely amazing hotel that exceeded my expectations! The warm and friendly service from the manager and staff, the high-quality and beautifully presented dishes at the restaurant (Higashiyama), the breathtaking view from the rooftop lounge, complimentary drinks available anytime in the lounge, the large public bath and private onsen open-air bath in the room, as well as the sophisticated furniture and amenities in-room—all these thoughtful touches made for a very pleasant stay. It’s rare to find hotels with large public baths in Kyoto, but having an onsen at this location is particularly appealing. Thanks to this feature, I was able to relax and recover from travel fatigue. I was extremely impressed with my stay here and look forward to visiting regularly in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

    I visited Kyoto for a business trip and decided to extend my stay by combining it with a vacation. The accommodation offers many shared spaces, such as a terrace with a footbath boasting stunning views and a lounge where you can enjoy drinks and ice cream. The room itself was thoughtfully designed, providing the ultimate relaxation experience. In the room, for example, there was ample space at the entrance where the restroom was located (separated by a door from the living area for privacy), wooden flooring around the sofa contrasted with tatami flooring near the bed, and in the shower room, fixtures were installed at higher positions with platforms attached to chairs (allowing you to sit comfortably without bending your legs). Amenities like body towels, mouthwash, large bottles of mineral water—items I personally consider essential—were all provided. Every detail seemed tailored to address common wishes during hotel stays. Above all else, having an open-air Onsen in my room was exceptional. As I stayed alone, I chose a second-floor room without scenic views but enjoyed soaking in the Onsen while gazing at pine trees planted outside—a cozy retreat-like atmosphere that felt perfect. The accommodation is conveniently located near the station and surrounded by small cafes and dining spots. While ideal as a base for exploring Kyoto's attractions, this hotel is also highly recommended for those looking to simply enjoy their staycation experience.

    An accommodation I would like to stay at again.

    We used this accommodation for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival and check-in, we were given a thorough tour of all the facilities, which was a first-time experience for us. The room was smaller than expected, but considering the convenient location, it seemed understandable—though it would have been perfect if it were slightly more spacious. The bath chair was at the height of an ordinary desk chair, making it easier for people with mobility issues to use. The meals were incredibly delicious, offering dishes and service that made us want to enjoy them again. As it was a birthday celebration, they even prepared a birthday gift for us—it was truly exceptional service that left us completely satisfied.     It was a wonderful experience.

    We enjoyed a luxurious trip with a private open-air bath in our room as a couple! This was the best accommodation we've ever stayed at. From the warm hospitality at check-in to the ambiance of the room and amenities, everything exceeded expectations, especially for women. Relaxing on the terrace after a bath was simply perfect. We also visited the Sky Garden Terrace and had an amazing time enjoying the night view. The location is conveniently situated in central Kyoto, close to both buses and train stations, which was very helpful. This time we stayed for 2 nights with No Meals Included, but thanks to its great location, finding restaurants was no trouble at all. My husband and I are already talking about coming back again! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!

    The meals were excellent, but the dessert glass was cracked and chipped, which caused throat discomfort. I reported this issue and was told it would be passed on to management, but no follow-up occurred before check-out. It was disappointing, especially since everything else was wonderful.

    This is my second stay. The service and the Onsen remain exceptional. It was during a sale period, so the price was very reasonable, but the quality was not compromised, which left me deeply impressed. This time, both dinner and breakfast at "Kyokaiseki Higashiyama" were even more visually stunning and delicious. In Osaka, I often visit Kagairo, but this place surpasses it in artistic beauty and taste. Even though I’ve had various Kaiseki meals while traveling, it’s rare to find one as beautifully presented as this. I would love to visit again! Next time I stay here, I hope you can check if I've stayed before and welcome me back with a "Welcome home."

    A moment on the rooftop terrace, top-class cuisine even in the competitive Kyoto area, soothing Onsen, and unobtrusive service—all provided an exceptional experience. I was able to relax fully. For the large public bath, it might be better to prioritize making Yasaka no Yu available for women first. Just a suggestion for your reference.
