Perfect base for sightseeing in Kyoto :)

Since there were three adults, we really appreciated having a triple room option. The large public bath was clean and relaxing even late at night, and the complimentary treats like ice pops after bathing were a nice touch. Breakfast was luxurious and delicious: in addition to the buffet, you could choose a main dish, and even after three nights we never got tired of it (lol). We also had an incident where our child left an iPhone in a taxi, but the staff supported us without showing any annoyance. When the iPhone was found, they were genuinely happy with us, which meant a lot. It was a Hotel we were completely satisfied with as a base for sightseeing in Kyoto. Thank you very much.

    Family trip in KYOTO!

I stayed on the Breakfast-Included 3-Night Plan in a Moderate Triple Room. I was surprised that about 80% of the guests were inbound tourists! The location was convenient—about a 5-minute walk from Gojo Station on the Karasuma Subway Line. Since it faces Gojo-dori, the bus stop is also just about 50 steps away, making it easy to get around. The Room felt a bit small for three people, but we were out sightseeing most of the time and only used it for sleeping, so we stayed comfortably. All staff members were pleasant, with warm smiles and polite language, which made our stay very comfortable. We used the breakfast buffet for three days; there was a wide variety and everything was delicious, so we never got tired of it. One thing I noticed was that there was only one coffee machine, which sometimes caused a wait—I'd be happy to see this improved. The large public bath on B1 was thoroughly cleaned and very hygienic. Perhaps inbound tourists are not used to Japanese-style bathing areas; after use, I was surprised to see chairs, wash basins, shampoo bottles, etc., left in disarray. I felt sorry for the staff who have to clean up. Overall, we had a comfortable four-day stay with no issues. I would like to use this Hotel again on my next trip to Kyoto. This time was an anniversary trip, so I truly appreciated the surprise gift from the Hotel. Thank you very much.

Attentive service and a comfortable stay.

It’s easy to see why this Hotel is popular with international guests. It’s compact, but has a pleasant modern Japanese atmosphere, is very clean, and offers attentive service. In the basement area, you can enjoy free drinks, ice pops, and snacks. The bath has large windows and beautiful wall design, making it very relaxing. It’s a shame there is no open-air bath. The Room faced a neighboring building close by outside the window, but the curtains and lighting were beautifully designed in a modern Japanese style, so it didn’t feel closed in at all. The amenities were also well stocked, and I was satisfied. The welcome drinks had a great variety as well. Breakfast didn’t have many Japanese options, but everything was delicious, and the selectable one-dish option was also good. They also provided a light-meal ticket that could be used after checkout; it wasn’t “light” at all—I had a proper lunch. With its convenient location, I was satisfied with everything. I’d like to stay again.

An even more wonderful Hotel than I imagined!

This was our first stay here on a mother-and-daughter trip to celebrate my mother’s 77th birthday. I mentioned this in the notes when making the Reservation, and at check-in the front desk staff offered her warm congratulations. When we entered the Room, there was a birthday card on the table, which made us both very happy. The welcome drink at check-in and the number of dishes in the dinner course exceeded our expectations—every item was delicious with a wonderful Kyoto touch. We were also surprised to receive not only a breakfast buffet, but even a light-meal voucher that could be used after checkout. The Room was compact but modern and very clean. The large public bath was also spotless, and the guest lounge available after bathing offered complimentary drinks, snacks, and even ice pops—and we could take them back to our Room, which was great. Above all, everyone at the front desk and in the restaurant provided excellent service, making our stay truly comfortable. When we have another chance to visit Kyoto, we would definitely choose this Hotel again. Thank you for helping make it such a wonderful trip!

    The room was spaciou...

The room was spacious, with two sinks and two toilets, making it very comfortable. The TV also allowed access to YouTube and other services. There is a supermarket next door, and the refrigerator has ample storage space, so you can purchase bento boxes and drinks for dinner. At check-in, we received a welcome drink (you can choose from two options). The milk in the café latte could be replaced with soy milk, and we were also given small croissants which were very delicious! I initially thought I would only receive one meal ticket, but I was pleasantly surprised to get tickets for both breakfast and a light meal (lunch). Both meals were delicious! Considering the accommodation cost, the facilities and meals exceeded expectations. Thank you very much! I would love to stay here again.

From Welcome Sweets to a Wonderful Hotel

The 5th-floor Room features tatami flooring, clean and comfortable. The window cannot be opened as it faces an apartment building. The large public bath is clean and safe, with high-quality DHC amenities. Complimentary ice pops and cola are a nice touch. The 24-hour gym is accessible, with international guests training peacefully as early as 6 AM. Equipped with the latest machines. The Japanese-French dinner showcases the chef's creativity, while the breakfast buffet could use some improvement. Connected to JR Hotel Members program, all staff are kind and welcoming—an incredibly lucky New Year's stay!

    For New Year's family gatherings

The Facility and hospitality were very comfortable, and the Room was well-equipped. The 4-person Room having two toilets and sinks was especially convenient. There was a separate space for relaxation apart from the bed area, where our family enjoyed grinding Hotel-exclusive coffee beans, relaxing, or playing card games together. We chose a Plan with breakfast and dinner included, but we also received meal coupons for lunch, which made everything so convenient. Thanks to this thoughtful service, we could enjoy quality family time without worrying about household chores. Thank you very much!

Your New Year's Eve turned out to be disappointing.

I booked two rooms to spend New Year's Eve and New Year's Day with my parents because the Reviews were good. At check-in, I was told that the two rooms were on different floors, which I wish had been communicated in advance. Since my parents are elderly, I assumed they could easily go back and forth between adjacent rooms. The most disappointing issue was that the Room wear felt damp, but I wore it to sleep anyway. While sleeping, I suddenly felt a sharp pain on the inside of my knee and woke up. Using my iPhone flashlight to check the area, I saw it was swollen like a welt with bite marks—it was a mite. I immediately took off the Room wear and changed into my own sweatpants. The pain kept me awake for some time during the night. In the morning, I considered reporting this at reception but hesitated as only male staff members were present and showing them my knee seemed uncomfortable. Today is January 3rd, but the bitten area is still peeling and red. I've mostly enjoyed staying at Hotels through IKYU.com in the past; however, this Hotel choice has left me deeply disappointed this time around.

The large public bath and guest lounge were absolutely fantastic!

I had a great experience at Blossom in Kumamoto, so I decided to stay at their accommodation in Kyoto as well! This place also has a large public bath, which was incredibly relaxing. The guest lounge services were full of value. The spacious area in the front lobby provided a nice sense of openness. It seemed like there were many non-Asian travelers staying here. The bed was very soft and comfortable, almost like sleeping on a futon mattress. I would definitely love to stay here again!

    Kyoto's No.1

This is my second stay. I didn't notice it before, but the tatami area was very dirty this time, which bothered me a lot. Other than that, I think it's truly a wonderful hotel. Great location! Great food! Great public bath! I will use this accommodation again when I visit Kyoto next time.

A very comfortable Hotel for a family of four.

Close to Karasuma Line. Very clean and relatively quiet despite facing Gojo Street, with no noise from surrounding Rooms. The air conditioning is comfortable without noticeable wind or noise. Equipped with an air purifier and humidifier for use. The bed mattress is Simmons-made, ensuring exceptional comfort, which I always prioritize. Stayed in a 4-bed Room that had two toilets, thoughtfully designed for convenience and comfort. The public bath was also clean and pleasant. Welcome drinks are available, along with late-night snacks and free food from 6 to 11 AM in the morning. Opted for breakfast included; upon seating, you can choose your main dish which is served first, followed by a buffet offering both Japanese and Western options—all delicious. Particularly enjoyed the Kyoto-style unique salad dressings offered in three varieties; the koji dressing was especially tasty. The Hotel seems to cater mainly to inbound travelers but had many Japanese guests due to the holiday season during autumn foliage time. Staff were foreign but fluent in English and very friendly towards us as Japanese guests as well. Check-in and check-out procedures were very smooth. Would definitely love to stay again!

    Check-in and check-o...

Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the Room was comfortable! The breakfast was delicious, with light snacks available, and the desserts were thoughtfully prepared. The hospitality was also excellent! If I may suggest, the hairdryer was small and took some time to dry my hair, so upgrading to a more modern one would make it even more comfortable. Thank you very much!

    Conveniently located near the station

It was my first time using this service. Since the check-in time was late at 8 PM, the front desk was closed, and I had to look for staff. Fortunately, there was someone at a nearby desk who helped me with the check-in process. We were a group of three, and the room had three beds, which was great. The tatami space by the window was convenient for changing clothes and organizing luggage. One concern I had was that the toilet lock didn’t work well; after use, it accidentally locked itself, but I managed to unlock it eventually. After that incident, I avoided using the lock altogether. The bath area wasn’t crowded since we went later in the evening. There were ice creams available in the lounge after bathing—delicious! Drinks and snacks were also provided in the lounge, which we enjoyed as well. Breakfast time was somewhat busy but manageable; we could get food without waiting too long. It would have been nice if there were more fruit options available during breakfast. For those who reserved with breakfast included, a light meal voucher is provided for lunch—a nice bonus! Overall, the room felt new and clean with great amenities like a large public bath and complimentary welcome drinks in addition to ice cream and snacks in the lounge. The light meal voucher added extra value to our stay—it felt very worthwhile!

    I had a relaxing time.

We have stayed here several times, and this time we chose the dinner-included plan. The dinner was excellent in both content and portion, and our whole family was very satisfied. We also used the large public bath, which was not crowded, allowing us to relax. We have already made our next Reservation. Looking forward to staying again!

    Cost-effective Hotel

Pros - Complimentary mineral water - Disposable slippers available - Rooms with separate bath and toilet available - Affordable Accommodation Fee on certain days - Quick and efficient service Cons - Location (slightly inconvenient distance from Gojo Subway Station) - Cleanliness issues in facilities (dusty environment) Overall Review If the Accommodation Fee is 25,000 yen or less per night, this Hotel offers excellent value for money. Maintaining cleanliness and well-kept rooms is essential. Although there was a misunderstanding regarding the Reservation details, it was resolved promptly thanks to the swift judgment and response of the Hotel staff.

    Compact and well-organized.

The facility is well-equipped, providing a comfortable stay. It seemed like about 80% of the guests were inbound travelers, and the lounge was a bit untidy, so it would be nice if it could be tidied up more frequently. Additionally, accessing areas like Shijo Kawaramachi or Gion felt slightly inconvenient.

    It was excellent.

It was truly a wonderful Hotel. The dinner course, in particular, left a lasting impression. Not only was it delicious and visually enjoyable, but the gentleman who explained the course dishes spoke with sincerity and made the dining experience very pleasant. I regret not being able to finish the kamameshi as I was too full—I wished I could take it home. If I stay in Kyoto again, I would love to book the same Plan.

Overall, it was a good Hotel.

We stayed as a family and found everything, including the facility, service, and breakfast, to be excellent. There were many guests from overseas. The bath (around 5 PM and early morning) and breakfast (around 8 AM) were not crowded. The lounge offered free access to juice, ice cream, snacks, etc. Despite it being the Obon season, the accommodation cost was quite reasonable (likely because we booked early), making it very affordable. While it's a bit of a walk to the Shijo area, there are plenty of dining options nearby so we didn’t feel inconvenienced. We were very satisfied and this is definitely one of the hotels we’d like to stay at again.

    Clean and cost-effective Hotel

The Hotel was very clean and stylish, possibly because it is still new. The Room was not too small and was comfortable. Although the view from the window only showed neighboring buildings due to the area, the proximity to a subway station made access very convenient. The stay included breakfast and dinner, but we were pleasantly surprised to receive a light meal ticket for lunch as well. Breakfast offered a sufficient variety of delicious options. As for dinner, while there’s always room for improvement, it was satisfying given the price point. The restaurant staff were polite and welcoming with warm smiles. Having a large public bath available was also a great feature. Considering that many hotels in Kyoto are expensive, this Hotel seems to be making commendable efforts to provide value for money.

Hotel I want to visit again

I was initially a bit worried about Kyoto being noisy with many foreign visitors, but there was no need for concern. While there were indeed many international guests, it was quiet. The Japanese cherry blossom motif welcomed us, and the pathway adorned with stone lanterns and plants heightened our expectations as we approached the front desk. Most of the guests were foreigners, but there were no loud voices or groups taking over spaces with luggage, which made check-in a relief. The Room was relatively spacious and had a touch of Japanese style. The public bath was also clean. During breakfast time, I realized I hadn't been given a breakfast ticket at check-in, so I couldn't be seated immediately; however, the staff quickly resolved this issue for me. The food was delicious as well. Great value for money! If I visit Kyoto again, I would definitely stay at this Hotel.

Negative points only for room cleaning.

The meals are exceptional. Our group, all quite accustomed to fine dining, unanimously praised the food. The quality at such an affordable price is truly impressive and delicious. Everything seems well thought out and carefully planned. If I may be greedy, I would love the option to upgrade the main dish to something like filet for an additional charge. Personally, I prefer a stronger final punch in flavor, but overall it was absolutely wonderful—almost too affordable for what you get! The staff are refined and professional. The meals alone make me want to return multiple times. However, the cleaning felt subpar—more like that of a Business Hotel or less—and seemed influenced by foreign sensibilities. For example, there was a 3cm-long hair on top of the toilet lid that should have been easily noticeable but wasn’t cleaned up; it left me questioning why this happened. Perhaps they were in a rush? The arrangement of cups on the sink was haphazardly placed without alignment—it startled me! It felt unsettling. Even towels seemed as though they had been gripped tightly with visible finger marks left behind; again suggesting haste during preparation? This approach feels different from traditional Japanese standards of cleanliness—I imagined perhaps it was done by foreign staff members or even male workers. On another note, the public bath area is clean and well-maintained while front desk staff provide excellent service quality as well! The welcome drink surpasses those offered at top-tier hotels in Tokyo both in taste and presentation—it’s delightful! Aside from housekeeping issues mentioned earlier everything else exceeded expectations making me eager to stay here again soon!

A Journey to Experience Kyoto's Inbound Tourism

I stayed at this Hotel during my trip to Kyoto, as it had high ratings. Overall, I was very satisfied and found it to be a great Hotel. However, perhaps due to the Golden Week period, there were many foreign guests and fewer Japanese guests than I expected. The location is convenient with good access from Kyoto Station, making it easy to use. The only downside was that the Room I stayed in did not have windows that could be opened or a view of the outside scenery. Additionally, while the meals were not bad at all, they seemed more catered towards inbound tourists. That said, the matcha served during check-in was exceptionally delicious!

    Family Trip

【Non-Smoking】Deluxe Fourth Room - NAGOMI - was perfect for our stay with 3 adults. We were welcomed with a drink and enjoyed a smooth and relaxing check-in process. The room had four proper beds, allowing us to unwind comfortably. In addition to the bedroom, there was a Japanese-style room with a table and chairs where we could relax, making it an excellent stay overall. The room also had two toilets, which seemed convenient for groups of four or families with children to avoid any inconvenience. The accommodation featured both a public bath and an en-suite bathroom equipped with a washing area, providing options for relaxing baths either way. The public bath had an international atmosphere as it was mostly used by foreign guests, adding an interesting cultural touch to the experience. The lounge offered drinks, snacks, and ice cream which we found delightful; however, it was often occupied by foreign guests during our visit so we couldn’t fully enjoy the space (though this is not the hotel's fault). If I may suggest one improvement—it would be great if body towels were provided in the public bath area. We visit Kyoto every year and would definitely love to stay at this hotel again!

Great value for money. Highly recommended.

I chose this place for its convenient location in the heart of Kyoto and the large public bath, and it was very comfortable. Although about 80% of the guests seemed to be inbound tourists and some were not familiar with the etiquette of using the lockers and bath in the public bath, the morning bath was a relaxing private experience. The welcome drink includes alcoholic options, but I couldn't make it in time and received delicious brownies and pound cakes as souvenirs. For those who like to explore the city, both the cost performance and location are excellent. By the way, there isn't much of a view from the Room, but you can check the weather from the window. It is also recommended for solo female travelers.

    Conveniently located near Kyoto Station.

It was my first time staying at this Property, and it was very convenient as it was within walking distance from Kyoto Station. The large public bath was more spacious than I had imagined, with plenty of washing areas, allowing me to relax thoroughly. It was great that the public bath was available until late at night (since I tend to stay out late eating and drinking when in Kyoto...). Overall, it was convenient and comfortable, and the Room was clean, so I would love to stay here again.
