A Hotel Perfect for a Refreshing Getaway

This was my third stay. It’s a Hotel close enough to reach in under an hour—perfect for a quick change of pace. The moment you step from the entrance into the lobby, the space feels so pleasant and uplifting. I also love the colorful fabrics—it’s a refreshing twist compared with the typical cool, minimalist interiors. This time I booked a very good-value Plan with breakfast and dinner included, so I expected it to some extent, but I can’t really recommend the meals. I think it’s better to order à la carte dishes that suit your taste. Unfortunately, both dinner and breakfast have felt like they’ve declined in quality each time I stay. It’s such a shame because I truly love this Hotel. That said, of course the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive, and it’s wonderful to relax during quieter hours while enjoying the beautiful view. The staff who welcomed me at the entrance and saw me off were also lovely. Just one request: Why is it that every time at check-in, even after giving my name, it takes so long to find my details on the computer? It makes me anxious—like “Is there no Reservation?!” If I could ask for one improvement, please don’t keep guests waiting for so long while standing; waiting would be much easier if we could sit on a sofa. Hoping next time check-in will be smooth. After breakfast, when I ordered a latte… it came with an unexpected little snail design. Thank you. I’ll be back again for the cute latte—and for my favorite gym.

    We had a great time.

Both the Facilities and services were as expected and very good. The staff communicated well and responded politely, making my stay comfortable. It was a Hotel that made me want to stay again.

    After that

We couldn’t get a dinner Reservation, so we chose the lunch and sweets buffet instead. The lamb was tender and filling, and there were savory items even after the desserts. We checked in right after that, enjoyed the Onsen to the fullest, and spent the evening with Room service and alcohol. Breakfast was great too—I kept going back for more Gondrand Célier croissants. When I emailed my kids to ask what they thought, they booked a Reservation and checked in soon after—almost as if swapping places with us. The only downside regarding amenities was that I couldn’t find any beauty serum or a hairbrush in either the Room or the bath area.

    A Comfortable Place

This Hotel is in a wonderful location that we found for our trip as a couple to Inuyama Castle. It’s within walking distance from the station, yet surrounded by greenery, making it very comfortable. From the entrance into the lobby, the view through the large front window was absolutely stunning—the color tones of the furnishings, the low sofas, and the fragrance really lifted our mood. From our Room, we enjoyed a beautiful view of the vivid green trees of the adjacent Urakuen Garden. The natural Onsen and the linen yukata provided in our Room were both very comfortable. Next time, we’d like to enjoy meals as well and stay longer at a more relaxed pace. All staff were courteous and had wonderful smiles.

A Hotel with an Excellent Location and Outstanding Staff

A prime location with a great view of Inuyama Castle A Hotel with an Onsen, recommended for both sightseeing and relaxation Above all, the staff are friendly and wonderful This time we were here for cormorant fishing, so we only ordered à la carte for dinner, but we enjoyed a delicious meal at the restaurant overlooking Inuyama Castle. Next time, I’d like to book a plan with meals included.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

This was our second stay, and we were satisfied with everything—the staff’s hospitality, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the meals. Traveling with my elderly mother in the heat, we were able to take it easy and enjoy a relaxing stay at the Hotel. The Onsen also offered a soothing atmosphere, and we had a wonderful time. We would love to return again.

It was a very pleasant stay!

This Hotel boasts an outstanding location overlooking Inuyama Castle, and everything—from the Room and restaurant to the staff—was impeccable, making for a wonderful stay. With IKYU’s Diamond benefits, we also received a one-hour late check-out and a ¥3,000 Hotel credit with no restrictions on how it could be used; it was applied toward our restaurant bill, which we greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.

A stylish lifestyle Hotel has arrived in Inuyama!

I stayed here while sightseeing at Inuyama Castle. With all due respect, it’s such a modern and luxurious Hotel that I found myself thinking, “A stylish Hotel like this in Inuyama?!” It faces the Kiso River and offers an outstanding location with views of Inuyama Castle. There is a spacious garden, and on summer nights it was lovely to hear frogs croaking. It’s also great that you can visit nearby Urakuen for free. The only disappointment was the large public bath: the design is very stylish, but there aren’t enough washing stations. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese or Western set meals, and the Western option lets you pick from many different egg dishes. The dining menu, the selection in the souvenir shop, and the stylish yukata gave an overall vibe that seemed aimed at inbound travelers, which felt a bit mismatched with the actual guest demographic—an interesting contrast. It’s a truly wonderful Hotel, and I hope more people get to know about it.

    Overall impressions

This was my first stay here. I was concerned that the toilet in the Room was quite small. With that amount of space, I think a sliding door would be necessary. I understand it may be unavoidable from an SDGs perspective, but the amenities in the bathroom and the Room were at a business-hotel level, and I felt they were lacking. The bath itself was also not very satisfying. It might have been better back when it was the Meitetsu Hotel. On the other hand, I felt the garden was well maintained. Breakfast seemed decent in both quality and quantity.

Highly rated for meals and overall satisfaction

This was the best Hotel I’ve stayed at so far!! The Room was very clean, and the large public bath was spotless as well. The staff were courteous and attentive—there’s nothing to complain about!! Highly recommended, especially for guests who prioritize dining. I’m going to stay at every Hotel Indigo!

Refresh with a Natural Onsen and Gym

Upon entering the entrance, the lobby is straight ahead, with a view of Inuyama Castle. I previously stayed in a castle-view room by booking directly soon after the Hotel opened. This time, I used IKYU because there was a very good-value No Meals Included Plan. My room on this stay faced Urakuen. One great benefit of staying at this Hotel is complimentary admission to the Japanese garden Urakuen (admission fee: 1,500 yen). For an additional fee, you can also enjoy matcha tea at the National Treasure tea house Jo-an within the garden. I enjoyed the natural Onsen both at night and in the morning, and also made good use of the gym. It was convenient that the in-room TV shows crowd levels for each facility. The natural Onsen and gym were perfect for refreshing myself.

Our staff are full of energy!

I booked this Hotel because I planned to visit Inuyama Castle. I arrived before check-in, completed the procedures, left my luggage, and went sightseeing. When I returned, my luggage had already been placed in my Room. The staff at the drop-off area, reception, restaurant, and elsewhere were all cheerful and pleasant. Thank you! The Onsen is diluted and heated, which is understandable, but it was disappointing that it wasn’t free-flowing. As a suggestion, it would be great to have club access with panoramic views of the garden and the castle.

    Exclusive Inuyama Castle Experience

I chose this Room because you can see the National Treasure Inuyama Castle from it. From the Room, from the terrace, and even while lying in bed, I was able to fully enjoy Inuyama Castle. The staff were pleasant, and I was satisfied with the overall atmosphere. However, dinner took so long between the first dish and the next that I found myself thinking, “Does it really take this long?” which was a bit disappointing. Also, although we could see Inuyama Castle beautifully lit up at night and it should have enhanced the mood, a large group was seated nearby ordering additional items in a lively manner that felt like a Ryokan banquet hall, which dampened the atmosphere for us. I think large groups would be better seated in a separate area from couples or guests spending quiet time together. Aside from dinner time, it was an extremely satisfying trip.

Enjoy the view of Inuyama Castle!

We chose a Room with a view of Inuyama Castle. The interior was wonderful, and at night we enjoyed the illuminated castle. The Onsen was spacious and comfortable, so we were fully satisfied and didn’t use the in-room bath. Breakfast was half-buffet style; we were recommended the Japanese set and chose it. The combination of rice and Saikyo-yaki was excellent. We could also visit the adjacent National Treasure Urakuen Garden for free. The staff were friendly, and we had a great stay.

    Satisfied!

Set on expansive grounds, the property offers a spacious layout, refined interiors, and exceptionally attentive service—truly impressive. Excellent value for money; nothing to complain about. In addition, Urakuen Garden is located next door, and free admission was included as a complimentary service, which was a pleasant bonus. I’m considering returning in autumn to enjoy the garden’s fall foliage.

    Luxury...

From the entrance, the place feels exciting, and even once inside, the location is very good—you can see Inuyama Castle straight ahead from the lobby! Maybe because it was a weekday, we got a river-view Room, and the view was amazing!! The furnishings and amenities were stylish and great. One disappointing point: at the Onsen, some Chinese guests surprised me—one wore wooden clogs all the way into the changing area, and another even took clogs out of a locker while people were changing. Clearer signage at the entrance is needed.

    It was wonderful.

The Hotel was new, clean, and wonderful. The Onsen was also very relaxing. We stayed on a Plan with dinner and breakfast included; dinner featured a menu centered on locally grown vegetables, and it was delicious. For breakfast we chose the Japanese set, which was excellent and outstanding. We also enjoyed the semi-buffet with its variety of options. The croissants were not as good as expected; perhaps because they were made in advance, they felt a bit dry and crumbly. It’s close to Nagoya and easy to get to, and there were many places to see around the castle area, which we really enjoyed. We would like to visit again.

    New and comfortable

Clean and comfortable, even after about five years since opening. The garden view from the Hotel is beautiful, and you can also see Inuyama Castle. Breakfast offers one made-to-order dish plus a buffet, worthy of a luxury Hotel.

    The Facility is styl...

The Facility is stylish, but the Room is small. The extra bed (sofa) was too soft and made my lower back hurt. The washroom was also small. The large public bath was neither particularly good nor bad, but the water felt pleasant. At dinner, service was slow—perhaps due to being understaffed—and we waited quite a while for our food. Overall it was rather dimly lit, so I don’t think it’s very suitable for families with children. The food tasted great, and both the course meal and the kids’ set were delicious. Our Room faced away from the castle, so the view wasn’t very good. It’s also quite far to Inuyama Castle, so I recommend allowing plenty of time. It’s a fairly long walk from the station as well, so I would like them to provide a Shuttle Service bus from Inuyama Station if possible.

    The castle view is perfect!!

Thank you very much for your hospitality. Inuyama Castle could be seen beautifully from both the Room and the restaurant, and the castle reflected in the pond was also wonderful. At check-in, things felt a bit hectic, with frequent “Please wait,” and after an incorrect explanation, we received a call to the Room right away to correct it, which made it hard to relax. Dinner featured a new menu, but we felt there were quite a few dishes that were difficult to eat depending on the ingredients. We thought it might be challenging for guests who are not comfortable using chopsticks. We enjoyed the Japanese breakfast. However, the miso soup we requested as an extra took quite a while to arrive; even after asking again, it came only after we had finished everything, which was disappointing. We would appreciate prompt follow-up without forgetting such requests. Overall, we had a pleasant two-day/one-night stay and would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

A Hotel to Worry About in Five Years

Foreign-owned Onsen accommodations may find it difficult to blend in, but many make good use of Japan’s culture. However, this place surprised me. At check-in, I saw guests walking through the lobby in yukata and pajamas, so I assumed they were adopting the traditional Onsen accommodation style. But when my husband tried to go out into the garden after the Onsen wearing a yukata, a staff member told him that yukata are only allowed between the guest room and the Onsen. When we checked in our Room, it was indeed stated there. The problem is that this rule is not enforced consistently. Some staff members warn guests while others do not—an extremely poor response. Later that night, my husband had left his phone charger in the car and tried to borrow one from the Hotel, but he was made to fill out a loan form. This was a first for us. These days many Hotels provide chargers in advance or make them freely available; asking guests to sign a loan form? It was completely unpleasant. I also found it strange that I did not see any older staff members during our stay. The lobby facing Inuyama Castle head-on, as well as the Rooms and building itself, are excellent—but overall it felt like a Hotel with only an impressive exterior. If they want to continue successfully five years from now, don’t they need fundamental discussions at management level?

Relax and enjoy a truly satisfying stay.

Thank you very much for your help. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by our mistake, and we appreciate your kind assistance in response. At the Hotel, we were able to relax in our Room, unwind in the Onsen, and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. We enjoyed the illuminated Inuyama Castle view from the Hotel, and we were also able to see the full view of the Hotel from Inuyama Castle. Next time, we would love to stay during the cormorant fishing season and book a Room with an Inuyama Castle view along with dinner.

Unfortunately, the check-out experience was disappointing.

I had a very pleasant stay overall, but at checkout there were three staff members present. One was assisting another guest, and two were dealing with the same person; however, one of those two did nothing and simply stood there. Even though I was waiting to check out, no one came to assist me, and they continued helping the other guest. I understand that it can’t be helped if staff are busy and guests have to wait, but despite someone standing there without doing anything, I still wasn’t assisted. It was a wonderful Hotel, but in the very end I left feeling upset.

The location and the Onsen are both wonderful, so we have high expectations for the future.

With Urakuen right in front of you and a wonderful location where you can look up at the National Treasure castle from the Room and the lobby, the cute yet relaxing Room interiors and overall Hotel design, plus a clean and comfortable Onsen—everything is in place.\nHowever, the dinner restaurant was disappointing. The staff apologized politely, which I appreciated.\nBecause this is such a lovely Hotel, I hope to see improvements and positive changes going forward.

We look forward to improvements in the future.

Unfortunately, our Room was not ready at the check-in time. It was the first time this has happened to us, so we were surprised. When we asked a staff member what had happened, we were told that weekends are very busy. After returning from the Hotel and reading the Reviews, we found a similar comment posted more than a year ago. What surprised us most is that it may not have been improved even after a year. Some Reviews mention low hospitality, but that was not our experience during this stay. If anything, it was the opposite—every staff member tried their best to take care of us. The issue seems to be that although they have the right attitude, there are not enough staff members, so they cannot provide sufficient service to guests. We believe this is something management should address—in fact, only management can solve it. It may be inappropriate for us to comment on matters like this, but if things continue as they are, won’t the staff become exhausted? The owners may have other challenges that we are unaware of; however, increasing staffing would likely lead to more smiling staff and ultimately improve guest satisfaction. We would like to visit again someday. We look forward to seeing improvements.

Just the two of us—my father and I.

After my mother passed away suddenly at the end of the year, my father was left physically and emotionally drained, so I booked a stay at Indigo in Inuyama—somewhere we could normally visit on a day trip—to help lift his spirits. The Room was right in front of the castle, which put him in a great mood. Since he can’t walk well, we only strolled around the garden and Urakuen, and I quickly went alone to the castle town and came back. Because it would have been unsafe for him to use the large public bath by himself, I waited outside. He came out very quickly—he seemed scared. One issue was that I couldn’t find a comb. It was my fault for forgetting to bring one, though. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

A Hotel Like an Art Museum

The entire building, including the exterior, felt like an art museum. The overall color palette, the artwork used in the interiors, and the modern design incorporating Japanese elements were wonderful. The staff’s service was natural yet courteous, and very pleasant. Breakfast was excellent. I thought it was a great idea to serve it as a set meal rather than making everything buffet-style. I was happy to enjoy freshly prepared dishes, and I was also surprised that refills were unlimited. In particular, the grilled fish in the rice porridge set was delicious. The design of the large public bath was beautiful as well, and I was impressed that the washing area is tucked away from view. The water temperature was just right, and it felt reassuring that it was clearly displayed in an easy-to-see place. Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay. I would definitely like to stay again.

Timed to coincide with cherry blossom season.

It was my first time staying here again in a while. I made a Reservation to match cherry blossom season, but it rained on both days—right on cue!! I was told the blossoms were at their best until yesterday, so with my expectations at their peak, I was really disappointed. Even so, the interior remains as refined as ever, and seeing Inuyama Castle through the large lobby windows lifted my spirits. I was also able to take my time in the Onsen and felt completely refreshed away from everyday life. The breakfast venue was as crowded as ever, so dining alone felt a bit unsettled, but I enjoyed a delicious Japanese breakfast. (It even seemed like the quality had improved since last time.) This is an Accommodation that makes me want to come back again—thank you very much.

If the Room air conditioning is improved, 4.5.

A new, stylish building. The lighting is pleasantly soft and relaxing. The view from the lobby windows is also wonderful. However, perhaps because of the central air conditioning, the air in the Room was extremely dry. The provided humidifier was completely ineffective. Even turning off the air conditioning didn’t help—maybe because ventilation mode stays on? My nose and throat felt so uncomfortable that I woke up many times during the night, and sleeping only made me more tired. My hands and feet also felt dry and unpleasant. Unfortunately, I had booked a two-night stay, so I was almost afraid of the second night. Honestly, I can’t recommend it for people with dry skin or sensitive respiratory systems.
