    A Relaxing Time

Surrounded by beautiful art installations and spaces in nature, I was able to enjoy a truly relaxing time. In this peaceful setting, I enjoyed delicious food and unique goods. The Onsen offered two types of baths, and I could soak at my leisure. The entire property is thoughtfully designed for guests to explore and enjoy.

    Hotel Vison is conveniently located.

I’ve stayed in the villas before, but this was my first time staying in the Hotel building. It was much more convenient for access to the shops. The dinner course at Nouniere featured a generous use of vegetable-based sauces and had deep, satisfying flavors. Thank you, as always, for a wonderful holiday. I’ll be back again.

It was a truly wonderful stay!

Planning a trip to Mie with the hope of making a once-in-a-lifetime visit to Ise Shrine, we were drawn to how wonderful the VISON villas looked and decided to stay here. The Room was clean and refreshing, simple yet very functional, and I felt deeply soothed by the garden view from the bath. We stayed for three nights, and for breakfast we had: (1) the Nouniyell buffet, (2) takeout from Mariage de Farine (bread with soup, salad, and dessert), and (3) takeout from Ureshino Tofu Nose. Everything was excellent! In particular, Ureshino Tofu Nose’s takeout bento may have been the best takeout meal I’ve ever had. Relaxing in our Room, we enjoyed glossy freshly cooked rice and plenty of piping-hot side dishes rich with dashi—an incredible luxury first thing in the morning. For lunch and dinner as well, we tried various places within VISON—dining in or getting takeout—and everything was delicious. The lean tuna sashimi we had after the tuna-cutting show was outstanding. The villa also has a large sink in the Room, so eating in and cleaning up afterward felt easy and stress-free. We also ordered Nouniyell room service—the meat dish and Caesar salad were delivered freshly made and were truly delicious! Honso-yu was also wonderful; even though it was midsummer, a cool breeze blew through the outdoor bath area, allowing us to relax completely. It was easy to drive to both Ise Grand Shrine and Toba Aquarium, making this an amazing trip. We were grateful for all of the VISON staff’s thoughtful yet unobtrusive hospitality—it was a genuinely happy stay. We definitely want to come again. Thank you very much.

    We were very satisfied.

The check-in explanation was brief and easy to understand, and the staff were excellent. The Room was very clean and comfortable. There were so many dining options it was hard to choose, but we were very satisfied with what we selected this time. Since you need to walk around the Facility quite a bit, it may be challenging on rainy or windy days, but on nice days it’s very enjoyable, and with so many shops we never got bored. We’d like to visit again in a different season.

    Izurun Breakfast,,,

We stayed one night from August 7, a family of four, in a villa. The Hotel staff’s service, the Facility atmosphere, and dinner at Tempura Tenkou were all excellent. However, breakfast at Izurun was terrible. The service was poor, everything tasted bad, the white rice was soggy, the coffee tasted like mud, the miso soup tasted like dirty water, and the scrambled eggs were like something from an American prison. Everything had been amazing until then, but breakfast ruined it all. I will never go to Izurun again.

    Thank you for your support.

This was our first visit since it has been getting so much attention. The vast grounds are filled with many carefully curated shops, including dining and retail, and our whole family truly enjoyed ourselves (we even wished we could have stayed for a Multiple Night Stay). The staff’s hospitality was also excellent—thank you for taking such good care of us.

This is my fourth stay, but...

There were quite a few things that bothered me during this stay. At dinner at Mendy, there was a group of about 10 guests with children seated next to us, so I asked to change seats and was moved to a private room. However, if a private room was available anyway, I think those guests could have been guided there instead—they would have appreciated it. Regarding the breakfast buffet, we were told there is a one-hour time limit. I often stay at Hotels, but this was the first time I’ve ever been informed of such a restriction. We wouldn’t stay for an hour anyway, but being told that didn’t feel good. I stay about once every six months, but it feels like there won’t be a next time. Also, the bath (the medicinal bath) is far too dark. I worried that an accident involving children or elderly guests might happen.

    Birthday Celebration Family Trip

Thank you very much for kindly accommodating our birthday surprise. It was a fun and memorable two days. The HOTEL’s large public bath was extremely satisfying. However, for a 4-year-old child, the only play area was the wooden play space “Kiond,” which we used on both days. But the Facility fee felt expensive: 1,200 yen for 30 minutes for a child + guardian, with additional charges added in 10-minute increments after that. I wouldn’t expect it to be completely free even for guests with plenty of time, but I would have been happy if it were covered as a Service Fee. Given VISON’s vast grounds, it would be even better if there were a park with playground equipment. So I felt it might not be ideal for families with small children. For adults—especially women—VISON is never boring, with lots of places to eat while walking around and many diverse shops. We were truly satisfied with the HOTEL. We also enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Even though we got lost at times, that was part of the fun, and it was a HOTEL where we wanted to stay forever. Thank you for taking care of us.

Second Stay at Vison with Our Beloved Dog

Ever since my first visit last year, I’ve become a huge fan of VISON, and this was my second stay with my dog. This time was my first stay at the VISON Hotel, and it is incredibly spacious. Having to transfer between elevators took extra time, which felt a bit wasteful. That said, the Hotel is high quality, with plenty to enjoy—great views from the windows and various exhibits. The Room was very clean, the terrace was large, and the bath was wonderful, so I couldn’t decide whether to relax in the in-room bath or go to Honso-yu. In the end, I enjoyed both. One thing: if you’re traveling with a dog, your only option for making a dinner Reservation at a restaurant is Nouniere. However, many dining Facility options within VISON have terraces, so you can still enjoy meals with your dog. So while some Hotel Plans may not work for guests with dogs due to dining arrangements, there are many restaurants you can visit if you don’t add meals to your Plan. It’s fairly complicated—sometimes even after confirming by phone in advance, there can be misunderstandings with on-site staff… which makes it tricky. We enjoyed dinner at Nouniere with our dog and had breakfast at Ureshino no Tofu. (This may change depending on timing, so please confirm.) There are so many places to eat that you’ll want to try everything—your stomach will be happily full. We still haven’t experienced it all yet, so we’ll likely come again. Thank you for such a relaxing time.

It’s hard to tell after just one night, but…

    - A large resort in the forest with a wonderful natural setting. The architecture is beautifully designed, and art pieces scattered around the Facility create a pleasant atmosphere. - Easy access right off the dedicated interchange, but the front desk was hard to find and made me a bit uneasy. - On rainy days, an umbrella is essential when using the Facility. - Dining venues are also spread out and hard to locate. - The website is confusing as well; it should be easier to quickly see what Facilities are available (e.g., sitemap, by area, by category). Improvements are needed. - Is there only one front desk? It was inconvenient, though the staff were helpful. It was disappointing that there was no support with luggage. - The baths were excellent—especially the herbal bath—but it was a shame there was a slight chlorine smell. - Sauna hours are too short; I couldn’t use it. I’d like it open until midnight, and also available from early morning. Using it during the same hours as the bath area would be ideal. - Dinner at Mendi (Basque cuisine) was very delicious, but the meat was tough—difficult for older guests. Still, the flavor was great, though portions were slightly small. The staff were kind, and making a Reservation by email in advance and their anniversary support were both good. - For breakfast I had the French toast plate; drinks and dessert were self-service, but the staff’s attitude wasn’t good and it put me in a bad mood first thing in the morning. - The shop has limited selection, so it may be best to prepare before check-in. - I wanted to enjoy everything with more time to spare. Pets are allowed too, so I’d like to visit with one next time. I hope they continue refining their services even further going forward.

It was a very meaningful time.

Relaxing in the countryside was wonderful and very soothing. The staff member who assisted us at check-in provided very pleasant service. The dining area was a little far, but it was perfect for a walk and made for a lovely time. We were upgraded to a Room with a jacuzzi at a great price, but it kept showing an error. Since it was outdoors, the water temperature quickly dropped, so I wondered if we would have been fine staying in the original Room with an open-air bath. It didn’t feel worth paying the extra fee. Overall, we were able to spend our time at ease, and it was a good stay.

    Very good.

We visited on a weekday, and everything was pleasantly uncrowded, so we could fully enjoy our stay. We made a Reservation for a leg massage, and it was excellent. We were very satisfied with the meals, and we also thoroughly enjoyed the activities and the Onsen.

    Enjoy a luxurious meal.

We enjoyed a luxurious dinner. Thank you to Oyster Hut Nakagawa. The service, dishes, and ingredients were all outstanding. It was our first time at VISON, and we thought it would be best to sample a variety of foods little by little at lunch, then decide what to buy to take home the next day. For our Room, we stayed in a villa. It was a quiet space slightly away from the Hotel, and we really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. However, we couldn’t connect the TV to the internet (it may have been due to our settings). If you’d like to fully enjoy your time in the Room, it may be a good idea to bring a tablet or similar device. The hair dryer was ReFa; there were welcome drinks and sweets in the Room; amenities were Dr.Ci:Labo. The shampoo seemed like VISON’s original—there was an herbal type provided. We also visited the large public bath, but amenities such as hair ties appear to require an additional fee, so please bring your own. There is also a smoking area, but it’s hard to find—hidden near the Hotel entrance—so please look for it. We were able to see everything in one day. There are escalators and no steep slopes, so we think this Facility can be enjoyed even by those whose knees hurt after walking a lot. That said, during check-in we saw someone using a cane having difficulty because there weren’t chairs you can lean on with your hands; instead there are low sofas. This may be something to keep in mind.

It was our first trip to Ise in a long time with all four family members together. We are truly grateful that you kindly accommodated our various requests. The villa Room, Facility, and Honso-yu bath were all wonderful. The restaurant meal with wine pairing and the breakfast from the katsuobushi shop were delicious, and we were very satisfied. We would love to stay at this Accommodation again if we have the opportunity.

    The Facility itself ...

The Facility itself was very enjoyable. Set on a spacious, nature-rich property, we were able to experience a wide variety of ingredients from both the sea and the mountains. There were also various perks for guests staying overnight, so I would like to visit again for another stay. They also set up an extra bed for us, which allowed us to stay comfortably as a three-person Room. The view from the window was expansive as well. There was a Reservation link for the spa on the website, but for Lufuro, despite being reservation-only, it was difficult to understand how to make a Reservation and what the guest pricing would be. The morning French toast was delicious. It was also great that there is a sweets buffet. Being able to enjoy sweets from the shops left me very satisfied with both the quantity and quality. We booked a Plan where dinner could be chosen from two restaurants. We later received an email from VISON with a link to make the Reservation, but since it was peak season, by the time I booked there was only one restaurant available to choose from. We dined at a pet-friendly restaurant. Even though there are areas without pets, we were shown to a pet-friendly area without any explanation. I understand that we did not mention this in advance either; however, some people in our group are uncomfortable around dogs or cannot tolerate them physically, so it was disappointing that we were seated without any explanation or confirmation. Allergy symptoms also appeared, which made it even more concerning. Fortunately, the dog near us did not bark—but it made me worry about what could have happened if it had. I think being able to dine with pets is a great concept. However, I did not expect that even guests without pets might be seated in the same space as animals, so I would appreciate clearer online information indicating that this may happen. Next time, I plan to choose a Plan with more restaurant options available.

How Your Dog Spends Time at VISON

In the past, when we traveled, as soon as we entered the Room our dog would sniff for other dogs’ scents, get restless, react to other dogs barking and bark nonstop, and couldn’t sleep well. This time, none of that happened; once we closed the windows, we couldn’t hear any dogs at all, and we were able to relax. It has become one of the Accommodations we’d like to stay at again.

    Spacious Facility

I checked in late in the afternoon after walking the Kumano Kodo and visiting Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine and Nachi Falls, completely exhausted. The grounds were far more expansive than I had imagined, with areas that include a restaurant and shops selling carefully selected goods and souvenirs. There’s no way to see it all in just a one-day stay. I was honestly impressed by the large public bath as well—by far the largest I’ve ever seen. The open-air bath, with lantern-like lights floating above the water, was wonderfully soothing after a long day, and there were plenty of shower stations. I also liked the dimly lit lounge area outside the baths that doubles as a meeting spot. The Room I reserved was very spacious and spotless, with a great view. It felt like many guests were repeat visitors; they seemed completely at home with the Facility. For dinner, I had an eel meal that I had reserved. I’m not used to Kansai-style eel that isn’t steamed first and had assumed it wouldn’t be for me, but the eel here was grilled beautifully fragrant and made me rethink my preconceptions. I didn’t have enough time to explore everything, and it left me feeling sure there is still much more to discover.

A lovely Facility, but it may need more consideration for elderly guests and stroller users.

During this trip, I found myself reflecting on consideration for elderly guests and wheelchair users. Because VISON is located in a mountainous area, there are many steps and significant changes in elevation, and I felt that Facilities such as ramps were somewhat limited. In that setting, I witnessed a family speaking harshly to an elderly relative who was traveling with them, almost scolding them, which made me feel very sad. From what I could gather, their frustration seemed to stem from the person’s unsteady footing and the extra time required to move around. It was likely a family trip with an elderly relative, but even small steps that younger people barely notice can be a major burden for older guests. For those planning to visit with elderly family members in the future, I recommend coming only after fully understanding the site’s terrain characteristics. At the same time, I also felt it would be appreciated if VISON could offer a bit more consideration for elderly guests and wheelchair users. In addition, I saw some guests using strollers looking confused around the escalators. With clearer signage and support such as guidance staff placement, this could become an even more comfortable place for many more visitors. Because it is such a wonderful destination, I hope efforts will continue to create an environment where people of all generations can enjoy themselves with peace of mind. Personally, I found the Facilities appealing; the scenery was beautiful; and the birdsong and breeze were refreshing—it was a great vacation. Thank you very much.

We used this property for a cousins’ reunion.

I stayed in the Family Suite, but… There was no place to wash hands inside the toilet, so I had to leave the toilet and open the door to the separate washroom to wash my hands, which was inconvenient and unhygienic. I wonder why it was designed this way. Also, it was inconvenient that dinner could not be charged to the Room.

    We had a relaxing stay.

This was our fourth stay, our first in a year and a half, and thank you again for taking such good care of us. The pet Room was comfortable and very clean. We could choose from a wide variety of restaurants, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. For dinner we tried the Spanish restaurant this time instead of the one we visited last time, and every dish was carefully prepared and truly excellent. We were also happy with the surprise celebratory chocolate with a handwritten message. Thank you very much. It would be even more appreciated if there were body lotion in the Room.

VISON’s spacious Hotel and mall were great.

This was my first visit. I had never been to Mie before, but since it was getting a lot of attention, I decided to stay here. The property is new, and although the Room was compact, it was thoughtfully designed to feel spacious and very nice. For meals, we had eel for dinner, and breakfast from Sanpi Ryoron—both were delicious. The bath was also spacious and wonderful! I also liked the no-amenities policy; it felt refreshingly straightforward. One thing I noticed was that the carpet in the Room had a few stains. Since my Room was brown, white debris and stains stood out to me. I’m quite sensitive about these things myself, so it might not bother most people. Next time, I’d like to stay in a Room with a terrace. The staff were young and energetic. Thank you very much.

A hotel ideal for stays tailored to your purpose, such as traveling with a dog or with family.

Since this was a relaxing trip with two female friends, we stayed in a detached villa, but having to go back and forth for meals, the bath, and getting around was quite inconvenient, which was a bit disappointing. On the other hand, shopping was enjoyable thanks to the well-equipped Facility. This is a place you can enjoy if you have clear goals in mind. There was only one coffee packet in the Room, which was the first time I’ve experienced that at a Hotel of this class, and it didn’t make me want to buy more. In the large public bath, debris and insects were floating in the open-air style bath, and the sauna could only be used from 10:00 a.m., so there wasn’t enough time to use it before check-out at 11:00 a.m. Considering the price and service quality, I felt there is room for improvement. I hope things improve in the future.

    We had a wonderful holiday.

The Room was spacious with a terrace and felt clean, which was great. Since the Onsen and dining are in separate buildings and the corridors are mostly outdoors, it was cold when moving between them. It seems some Rooms have bathrobes, but I thought it would be nice to have something to throw on. Shopping at VISON was fun, and I’d like to visit again.

    Roadside Station + City Hotel

I learned about VISON from a gardening YouTuber’s video and stayed there with my family. The shops on site were quite enjoyable, and we took out a variety of items. I don’t really want to write negative comments, but there were many disappointing points as a Facility. First, the signage throughout VISON is unhelpful. If a parking area is for employees, it should be clearly marked as “Employees Only.” The same goes for the autonomous bus lane—I saw cars driving in the bus lane without realizing it, and I myself didn’t understand what the sign meant at first. I think roads need clear markings on the pavement as well, not just signs (especially confusing ones). Next is rain protection. I would like to be able to move between each Facility without getting wet in rainy weather. Lastly, the Hotel had so little storage that it felt like it was designed by a minimalist, and there were only the bare minimum of trash bins and laundry baskets. I was also personally dissatisfied with the layout. There was no sink in the toilet room, so having to walk to a separate washbasin every time to wash my hands was honestly frustrating. We stayed on the 9th floor, and during our stay my child complained that they couldn’t sleep because of wind noise. That said, the Room was clean, the furnishings were fine, and the view was wonderful. I have other complaints as well, but I think there is plenty of room for improvement. At this stage, my honest impression is that I can recommend it only at the level of being a roadside station in Mie Prefecture.

    Luxury of Space

At first, the space felt so large that it was a bit overwhelming, but once I settled in, I was truly impressed. We stayed in the Dog Villa. It was fun—it felt like spending time with our dog in a single-story home. Unfortunately, it rained during our stay, but next time I’d love to gaze up at a sky full of stars.

    The sauna is excellent.

I stayed here with friends for a sauna-focused trip. Unfortunately, I have to say the staff’s level of awareness felt low. The following three points especially stood out: - Even with guests right in front of them, staff chatted casually among themselves. - Although they confirmed check-in for two adults, the loungewear provided was one free-size and one size S. No gown was prepared. There were three pairs of slippers, etc., as if they had simply been left there. - When I asked at the front desk to exchange the loungewear and asked where I could change, they suggested the restroom. Perhaps it’s a difference in values, but changing clothes in a restroom is not acceptable. The layout is also fairly complex. You may get lost until you get used to it. Going to VISON’s shopping street, then to the baths, then back to the Room takes quite a bit of time just for moving around. That said, Honzoyu is excellent. Because the sauna has two levels, it feels spacious and not claustrophobic. I would like to visit again as a day-use bath guest if possible.

Despite my high expectations, I wasn’t satisfied. There is no floor heating in the bath or washroom, so the floors are extremely cold. Since my home has underfloor heating, this felt like a downgrade in Facility. The toilet also has no attached hand-washing sink, so you have to cross the area near the entrance to use the very cold washroom. The large public bath is in a separate building next to the Hotel, so you should expect to get chilled afterward. Also, there was only a medicinal bath; some guests were rubbing themselves in the water and others had their hair in the tub, which made me question hygiene—perhaps because they allow outside visitors. There are no skincare items such as lotion provided, so you need to bring your own or your face will dry out. As for meals, there was nothing that made me want to return for it.
