    You can sense the Accommodation’s policies.

    The Onsen and meals felt very high quality. The creative use of laser beams was also excellent. Unfortunately, for a modern Accommodation like this, it was disappointing that there were no pajamas—only yukata. I understand the policy of keeping guests’ activities within their own Room, but I would have liked a more spacious shared area, such as a lobby.

    I don’t want to leave.

    Our family of four had an amazing stay! With the staff’s friendly, attentive hospitality and almost no contact with other guests, it felt like we were spending time in our own private luxury villa. It happened to be a new moon, so we were thrilled by the breathtaking star-filled sky that looked close enough to fall on us, and the food was absolutely delicious—everything exceeded our expectations. This is a very small suggestion, but it would be nice to have a hook in the open-air bath area to hang a bath towel. The view of the stars and the ocean from the Room’s open-air bath can only be described as pure bliss. Thank you to the owner and staff for helping us create such wonderful memories.

    An Unforgettable Escape from the Everyday

    Everything was wonderful. Every dish we had was delicious. My husband, who rarely gives compliments, kept saying how good it was, and I was so happy to be able to enjoy the meal together with him. And the Onsen left my skin silky smooth—while soaking, it felt as if my whole body were being bathed in lotion, and even after getting out of the water there was no tightness at all. Normally I need to apply body cream or my skin feels tight, but this time it stayed moisturized even without it. There was also a Mirable bath, and I was glad to have that first-time experience. After dinner, a laser message display appeared, and I was truly moved when I saw my family’s message. And with the breathtaking star-filled sky that felt like it might fall from above at night, plus the spectacular daytime views stretching all the way to the horizon, everything felt extraordinary—I’m really glad we stayed here. All of the staff were very kind and created a warm, homey atmosphere, so we were able to relax and take our time. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us during our stay. It’s a Hotel where we would definitely like to stay again.

    Only one.

    The hospitality was excellent. We had a very comfortable stay—thank you. It was a luxurious time and experience, but the only disappointing point was the coffee and tea provided in the Room; that part felt like an old-style Ryokan. At minimum, I’d like to see drip packs or capsule coffee, and since the area around the kettle is dark, a small spotlight would be helpful. As a coffee lover, it stood out to me. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

    Amazing...

    I used this Accommodation to propose to my girlfriend. She was truly moved by the laser surprise and how wonderful the Room was, and the surprise went perfectly. The staff were also excellent, and it was a huge help that they even confirmed the surprise arrangements with me. Everything was fantastic with nothing to complain about; the only disappointment was that the bed was quite firm and I couldn’t sleep well. Still, even without much sleep, soaking in the Onsen while gazing at the moon and stars made it a very fulfilling stay. We said we’d like to stay here again on our wedding anniversary.\nThank you again, and we look forward to coming back.

    Thank you for an amazing holiday!

    As we didn’t get any time off over the New Year holidays, we were looking for an Accommodation where we could truly unwind, and this time we stayed for two nights. We searched for an Accommodation with a private open-air bath overlooking the sea and in-room dining, and it exceeded our expectations—an incredibly satisfying trip. On the day of our stay, our Room was upgraded to the “Ocean Corner Detached Suite” with a balcony, and we’re truly grateful for the owner’s kindness. As for the open-air bath, the quality of the Onsen water is outstanding. It rained on our second night, but thanks to movable panels at the front and overhead, we could still enjoy the ocean view while soaking comfortably. With the panels fully opened, it feels wonderfully open yet still private and secure. The water stays warm for a long time and leaves you feeling cozy—having visited many Onsens before, this Tsubaki Onsen is number one for us! Even though my family usually eats lightly at breakfast, they said “This really makes you hungry,” and finished everything. We also enjoyed a variety of luxurious dinner dishes at a relaxed pace with our favorite wine. Watching a laser message from the dining terrace after dinner became a wonderful memory as well. The free, non-intrusive space that prioritizes privacy made this an exceptionally comfortable holiday for us as a couple who often spend most of our time relaxing at an Accommodation. We highly recommend this Accommodation to anyone who values that kind of stay. Delicious water and meals, an amazing Onsen, and thoughtful staff—we’re grateful for it all. We would love to return again.

    A relaxing Accommodation where you can unwind

    We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our wedding registration anniversary. We traveled by train and arranged in advance for Shuttle Service from Shirahama Station to the Hotel. Instead of checking in at the lobby, we were guided directly in our room, received an explanation there, and enjoyed a welcome drink. The room offered a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, and the open-air bath let us soak while gazing at the horizon. The silky-smooth feel of the hot spring water was impressive from the moment we stepped in. Both dinner and breakfast were served in our room; each dish made the most of its ingredients, with perfect portions and nothing to fault. The surprise cake we requested was also just how I like it—lightly sweet—and we were very satisfied. After dinner, we enjoyed one of this Hotel’s highlights: a Guinness-certified laser show featuring messages we had written to each other, which became a wonderful memory. In the morning, after breakfast, we took a short walk for some light sightseeing and enjoyed another bath, then relaxed until checkout at 11:00. We also appreciated being taken by Shuttle Service to our requested location afterward. Thank you for such a truly satisfying trip.

    A Wonderful Experience

    I stayed for one night starting 2/11. I chose this Accommodation because I wanted to see the stars. The weather was poor until midday on the day of check-in, so I was worried, but by night it cleared up beautifully. I even saw two shooting stars, and it became a wonderful trip. In addition, if you lean out a bit you can watch the laser show from the bath, and meals can be enjoyed in the Room—perfect for a relaxing stay in. The bath was amazing as well, and I’ve become a fan of Tsubaki Onsen. Before check-out, I also had the chance to ride in a Rolls-Royce; with great weather for a short drive, it was an incredibly pleasant and special experience! Thank you very much for your hospitality. It’s far from my home, but I’d love to visit again!

    Recommended for surprising him

    We stayed here for my boyfriend’s birthday. The views, the bath, and the meals were all outstanding, and he especially loved the Rolls-Royce drive. The staff are very experienced with surprises, so I could leave everything to them with peace of mind. There is so much to enjoy that you’ll be happily busy. It was a wonderful Accommodation—luxurious yet completely private, relaxed, and warmly homey. One concern: there was no itemized breakdown for the additional drinks (alcohol at dinner + two sodas), so I couldn’t tell if the total was correct. (The dinner portion was confirmed.) I did ask, but it was brushed off a bit lightly, so I would have appreciated a more careful explanation. Perhaps what we were told as “the first drink is complimentary” meant one drink for two people? Based on the total, each soda seemed to be about 700 yen (I don’t know the going rate, but it felt expensive…). Also just a personal preference: I started to tire of the chawanmushi toward the end, so I think it could be served in a smaller portion.

    I arrived 30 minutes...

    I arrived 30 minutes before check-in, but they promptly assisted me and showed me to my Room. The Onsen was a “beauty bath” that left my skin silky smooth, and the ocean view from the open-air bath was stunning. The semi-double bedding had just the right mattress firmness for me, and I slept soundly until morning. The staff were also wonderful, making this a truly memorable trip.

    This is a wonderful accommodation.

    I visit Shirahama Onsen a few times a year and usually look for an Accommodation with an in-room Onsen, but this was my first time in Tsubaki Onsen. The water quality and the view from the Room were completely different, and it was so comfortable not having to leave the Room even for meals. I think I’m going to get hooked. Thank you very much for upgrading our Room— we loved it so much that we’re already saying we want to make a Reservation for that same Room next time. The Rolls-Royce experience seems very popular, and we ended up waiting over an hour. I almost gave up because I wanted to take a bath, but it’s not something you can do often, so we decided to wait—and it was absolutely worth it. It was incredibly fun, and I really recommend doing it. The staff were wonderfully attentive and helped create a special time with the driver. The laser message also moved me deeply. I was a bit worried because sometimes there’s too much food or heavy fried dishes come late in the meal and it gets tough, but everything here was delicious no matter what we ate, with unique cooking methods throughout. The timing and portions of richer dishes were just right, and before I knew it, we had finished everything. They also lower the blinds while preparing things, so even though it’s in-room dining you can relax during any waiting time. Thanks to the owner’s explanation during dinner, we also got to experience a starry sky like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

    My mind and body felt completely refreshed!

    Everything—the Onsen, the Room, the cuisine, and the service—was truly satisfying. The moment we entered the Room, we were greeted by an ocean view with the Pacific stretching out before us. The open-air bath in our guest room felt like having the Pacific all to ourselves—pure bliss. We stayed for one night on a full-moon evening and were able to fully enjoy bathing in the moonlight. The water quality felt like a skincare lotion, and we loved it so much that we never wanted to get out. Next time, I’d love to visit around a new moon and gaze up at a sky full of stars. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared from start to finish. In particular, the marbled Wagyu Onsen shabu-shabu was so delicious it melted in my mouth. Enjoying dinner while looking out at the sea at night, surrounded by silence—it was a meal that truly nourished both body and soul. After dinner, we were moved by a laser-projected message on the seawall, and the next morning we even had a Rolls-Royce test-ride experience—an unforgettable opportunity that’s hard to come by. The service and hospitality were refined and wonderful, making our stay incredibly comfortable. To all of your staff members: thank you so much for everything. Everyone was kind and reassuring, supporting us in so many ways and allowing us to escape the daily hustle and enjoy the ultimate relaxation. My husband and I have already said we’d love to return as each season changes, and we look forward to visiting again.

    As always, the best accommodation.

    I used this Hotel for a surprise trip to celebrate my husband's birthday. The staff who picked us up at the station remembered that we were repeat guests and shared exciting updates about the renovations, making the experience even more enjoyable. The renovated Room, delicious meals, breathtaking views, and starry skies were all incredible. Above all, the staff's attentive service and thoughtful hospitality from the Hotel were truly outstanding. I had requested a laser message via email in advance, so they knew about my husband's birthday. During dessert time at dinner, a staff member congratulated him with a special birthday dessert. It felt like I was also part of the surprise celebration—it made me very happy! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. Dining while enjoying such spectacular views was absolutely unforgettable. Previously, we found it inconvenient that the bathtub in our Room was integrated with the sink area; however, thanks to renovations, this has been improved with an independent bathroom setup that is much easier to use now. A Hotel that listens to guest feedback and makes actual improvements shows unparalleled dedication—I believe it's truly world-class service! We will definitely stay here again.     The starry sky from the Onsen open-air bath in the room is amazing!

    This was my first stay at this accommodation, and I had an amazing and relaxing time. I checked in after 3 PM, enjoyed a beer while gazing at the ocean from the onsen open-air bath in my room—absolutely fantastic! My skin feels so smooth! The indoor onsen bath was also spacious and perfect for unwinding. Later, I was lucky to witness a stunning sunset over the ocean. The in-room dining featured carefully selected ingredients, generous portions, and everything was incredibly delicious—I ended up eating too much... The laser beam show at 9 PM was impressive and moving. The bed in the room was spacious and comfortable for a great night's sleep. Breakfast was also very delicious; I enjoyed it leisurely while admiring the ocean view—a truly extraordinary experience! After breakfast, I got to ride in a Rolls-Royce convertible (with Hermes-colored interior) for about a 10-minute drive along the coastline—it was absolutely amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed this blissful two-day, one-night trip. Looking forward to staying again!

    Full of new experiences

    I was drawn to the unique services and time-limited offers, and I am fully satisfied with the abundance of new experiences. Upon entering, I was greeted by a Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. To my surprise, they weren’t just for display—I got to enjoy a mini-drive in an open-top Rolls-Royce, which was both astonishing and delightful. The laser message after dinner was also a first-time experience for me—a truly unique touch. Blessed with good weather, I enjoyed a mini-drive along the coastline, watching the sunset over the horizon while listening to the sound of waves during dinner, followed by a laser show and stargazing under a sky full of stars. The outdoor onsen had walls and ceilings that could be opened or closed freely; soaking in its smooth waters while gazing at Orion’s Belt was exceptional. The winter triangle I learned about long ago appeared even more stunning with Jupiter joining in—an extraordinary starry sky experience. Indoors, I experienced Mirabus in the bath; apart from the mini-drive, everything—including meals—was enjoyed indoors during this one-night stay filled with new experiences!

    I traveled to Shirah...

    I traveled to Shirahama just to stay at this Hotel. The open-air bath is designed so you can enjoy views of the starry sky and the sea, offering a breathtaking night sky that cannot be seen in the city. The indoor bath features Mirable and Mirabus systems, leaving my skin smooth and allowing me to enjoy two types of baths both at night and in the morning. Additionally, the meals were exceptional. You can savor them leisurely in a private space without worrying about time. Every dish served was delicious, and both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

    Highly satisfied!

    The staff provided excellent service, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing time. The drive in the Rolls-Royce convertible right after check-in became a wonderful memory. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious, and the attentive service timing during meals was very satisfying. The only downside was having to change slippers multiple times in the Room, which was a bit inconvenient. However, this Hotel has become one more place I would love to visit again.

    The location offers a stunning view, but the concrete room was dimly lit, and the overcast weather made it feel even darker than it appeared in photos. The wall-mounted TV is positioned high above the sofa. We were looking forward to enjoying the open-air bath with a spectacular view, but we were informed upon arrival that the outdoor bath attached to our room uses "tap water." The indoor bath next to the toilet is said to be Onsen water (we double-checked as it seemed reversed). Since our main purpose was enjoying Onsen, we used the indoor bath; however, with its concrete design and a shallow, elongated tub that made it difficult to soak up to shoulder level, it felt like a missed opportunity despite having silky Onsen water. While my family enjoyed the view from the outdoor bath, they couldn't fully appreciate it knowing it was tap water. Meals are served in a separate private dining area within your room. Due to glass walls, roll screens are lowered during meal preparation for privacy. Even if you arrive precisely at your scheduled time, no one may be present yet... Dishes are served by reaching across neighboring spaces awkwardly. Additionally, there’s no bell on the table for ordering drinks—you can only order during serving times. While this setup might aim for privacy and exclusivity... There are also specific rules: managing hot water at night (switching off and keeping warm) or lowering screens at 10 PM so light doesn’t leak out of rooms (to allow stargazing or enjoying moonlit skies—during our stay there was a full moon creating beautiful blue-gray hues). Of course, we complied with these requests. Notable highlights include laser-projected messages expressing gratitude towards companions and a 10-minute test drive in a Rolls-Royce—unique experiences not typically offered by other Ryokans that left us with memorable moments. Opinions about rooms may vary greatly; younger guests or international visitors might prefer this style of accommodation more than others. The meals were average (tasty). Dinner featured shabu-shabu with premium Japanese black beef while breakfast included salmon cooked "chan-chan yaki" style shared in one pot—a bit underwhelming for seasoned travelers. Personally, I’d rate this experience around 3 stars. If my expectations hadn’t been raised by high reviews beforehand, I might have enjoyed my stay more thoroughly.

    I often arrive late ...

    I often arrive late for check-in and can't choose my meal time, so this time I arrived early to select a later dining slot. However, I was strongly urged to choose an earlier time, which was very disappointing. Even though they eventually accommodated a later time, the staff mentioned they would serve the dishes at a faster pace, which made me feel rushed. Cleanup also felt very quick, and I didn't feel like I could enjoy my meal leisurely. Aside from that, the scenery and Onsen were excellent.

    Expensive Accommodation

    I had high expectations for this expensive accommodation. The amenities in the room were disappointing and seemed outdated. The coffee and tea in the room were just instant packets. Meals did not start on time, and I eventually stopped eating as I had no idea when dessert would be served. It was a disappointing accommodation.

    The view was breathtaking.

    Visited at the end of the year. Chose this highly-rated non-contact option to avoid catching a cold. Everything was excellent. The room was spacious enough. While the lack of a changing area for the open-air bath was slightly inconvenient, there were no other issues. There was a large terrace outside, perfect for letting my 2-year-old son play. The view was stunning and very refreshing. The onsen quality was great—smoother than Shirahama Onsen. Although some reviews mentioned small portions for meals, we found them to be more than sufficient. The staff serving us were kind, which made my wife happy as well. We enjoyed our stay without leaving the room at all and would love to visit again!

    Falling in love with the hot spring water.

    Visited in October and fell in love with the Onsen's skin-enveloping waters. Learning that winter offers a clearer view of the starry sky, I returned in December. The indoor bath was equipped with Mirable, leaving my skin and hair refreshed before enjoying the moisturizing effects of the Onsen. The drive in a Rolls-Royce convertible was also an unforgettable experience. I look forward to soaking again soon!

    "Valet parking service is available, so there's no need to park your car yourself. Upon departure, your car will be brought back for you. While this adds a touch of luxury, one detail caught my attention: the ice. The ice used in the drinks was standard refrigerator ice. At establishments offering beverages at this price point, it's common to use hand-cracked mineral water ice because it affects the taste. Unfortunately, when the drink was served here, my impression shifted instantly. It's a small but significant detail."

    Meals and baths can all be enjoyed in your Room!

    It was wonderful to enjoy both meals and the bath entirely in the room. Above all, the quality of Tsubaki Onsen's open-air bath was excellent, and I used it three times during my stay. I appreciated being able to adjust the roof and roll screen separating the open-air bath from outside, but the design of the roll screen felt a bit outdated—perhaps from the Showa or early Heisei era? It slightly clashed with the modern feel of the room. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so I couldn't see the starry sky. I hope to come back for another chance someday!

    As the name of the accommodation suggests, it truly offered a breathtaking ocean view. The quality of the hot spring water was also amazing and very relaxing. Due to the season, as others have mentioned, there was a large number of stink bugs, which made it a bit disappointing that we couldn't enjoy dinner while overlooking the ocean. However, experiences like the laser show made this trip a memorable and wonderful celebration. The staff were incredibly hospitable, making our stay very pleasant.     The room is a bit cold.

    The air conditioning felt a bit cold, and the open-air bath could be slightly more accessible for a perfect score. The bathtub in the Room felt cold when leaning back, which was a concern.
