    An Accommodation You’ll Want to Return To

    The spectacular views and silky Onsen were wonderful, and the meal portions were just right. Above all, we could dine while enjoying the breathtaking scenery. A message from my husband was projected onto the cliff with a laser beam—it was amazing. It was such a luxurious time, and I’d love to visit again.

    This was my first time staying here, and I’m glad I got to enjoy so many extraordinary experiences. The coastal drive in a Rolls-Royce—my first time riding in one—and the nighttime laser message show were beautiful and truly moving. From the terrace, I was soothed by the view of the Pacific Ocean just beyond and the sound of the waves. The food was also delicious. All of the staff were friendly and very kind. I made my next Reservation during my stay, so I’m looking forward to coming back again. Thank you very much.

    The Room’s semi-open-air Onsen was wonderful.

    First of all, the view is amazing—the sea is right in front of your Room, with a wide expanse of blue ocean and sky. The Room is fairly spacious, with plenty of sofa space, so you can relax in different ways. The open-air Onsen has a slightly lower set temperature and silky-smooth water. It felt wonderful, and I stayed in for a long time. From the bath, you see nothing but the sea and sky ahead, with only the sound of the waves. At night, you can see countless stars. It’s incredibly soothing. Meals are served for both breakfast and dinner at the dining area on the ocean side near your Room—of course with an uninterrupted view of the sea and sky. Champagne pairs perfectly. That said, I felt a Western-style breakfast would suit this Hotel better than Japanese-style options. Also, drinks—including those in the refrigerator—were very reasonably priced. There was also a service offering a ride in an open-top Rolls-Royce, but it was extremely hot that day so we passed. The nighttime laser show was a nice event as well.

    It was a Hotel where we could experience nature in a way you can’t usually enjoy, with a sky full of stars and shooting stars.

    Understood—it’s for my child’s birthday. From evening onward, the sunset, moonlight, and starry sky were breathtaking and truly showcased the grandeur of nature. We even saw shooting stars at night, and the laser event was great. We also got to take a drive in a Rolls-Royce, which made it a truly extraordinary experience. Thank you very much.

    The ultimate extraordinary escape

    We visited with my eldest son’s family, six of us in total. My car-loving grandchild was really looking forward to riding in a Rolls-Royce. The weather was a bit uncertain for driving an open-top car, but we still enjoyed an amazing drive. There was also a Lamborghini displayed at the entrance, which made my grandchild very happy. Since we wanted to have dinner together as a group, we requested it in advance and they prepared a private room for us. We couldn’t have dinner while watching the sunset, but we all enjoyed delicious food and had a wonderful time together. After dinner, we gathered in my eldest son’s Room and watched the laser art and laser messages together. It was then that I realized many people were staying at the Hotel that day. I was surprised because from check-in to check-out we never once ran into any other guests. After that, I returned to my own Room, opened the roof fully, and soaked in the open-air bath. While relaxing in the tub, I leisurely gazed up at a sky full of stars. We were able to enjoy so many experiences that you could never normally have on an everyday basis. During our stay—perhaps it was the owner—the Hotel staff explained in detail how best to enjoy everything available here. From what they said, I strongly felt their desire for guests to truly enjoy themselves, and it seemed shared by all staff members alike. If your purpose in going to a Hotel is to experience something out of the ordinary, this is one of the very best Hotels you could choose. Everyone left satisfied and headed on to Adventure World afterward. Thank you very much.

    A Warm Place That Moves the Heart

    An unforgettable, deeply moving Onsen Ryokan Hotel. The Onsen, the food, the Room, the night sky, the sea, the sudden insects, Mirable, and the people—everything was wonderful. I thought it might be a Ryokan for younger guests where you don’t really meet anyone, but we ended up having delightful conversations with the attendants and the owner. It’s not the kind of Ryokan where an okami comes to your Room in a kimono—this is a new style. We could truly feel the owner’s warm wish for guests to enjoy the Onsen together with starlight and the sound of waves. 　The open-top car couldn’t run due to rainy weather, but on the morning of day two they kindly asked what time would work since it looked like it might be able to operate—such heartfelt hospitality. The drive was amazing! 　A breathtaking nighttime laser show. It became something I will never forget for the rest of my life. Everyone’s feelings and gratitude toward one another—it was so moving. It brought back memories of children who have grown up and flown from home, and even emotions from long ago. And then… it helped me envision my own future from here on. Grateful for everything—thank you very much.

    I slept well.

    Located about a 20-minute drive from Shirahama Station, with relatively convenient access. From the Room, you can enjoy panoramic ocean views and an open, refreshing scenery. It’s a great place to relax while gazing at the sea—recommended for anyone looking to unwind and forget everyday life. The staff were also courteous, making our stay very comfortable. With both the views and service meeting expectations, this is a recommended Accommodation in Shirahama.

    A Natural Planetarium

    The views were incredible, the Room was calm and luxuriously appointed, the food was absolutely wonderful—and best of all, an open-air bath while watching a natural planetarium of stars! It was my first time ever having an experience like this. The owner was also very kind and told us about the meals and the bath, and since it happened to be a meteor shower night, even shared the best times to see it clearly. Our whole family was truly moved. We will definitely come again!

    We had a luxurious stay.

    This stay truly lived up to the word “luxury.” Spreading out before us was an endless ocean and horizon. The night sky viewed while soaking in the open-air bath in our Room was breathtaking; listening to the waves and gazing at the stars made us forget everything about everyday life. Both bathing and dining were completed entirely in the Room, and there was also a wide screen—so comfortable that we never felt like going out. Every member of staff was kind and attentive, making our entire stay pleasant. The smooth drive in a Rolls-Royce convertible was also wonderful. The driver was very friendly and even took photos for us, making it a great memory. The lightning show, too, with its many messages appearing across the night sky, warmed our hearts—it was a fantastic event. Thank you for providing so many memorable experiences. It’s a Hotel we’d love to revisit—and try as a Multiple Night Stay. For anyone who wants to forget daily fatigue and truly relax, this Accommodation comes highly recommended.

    I finally got to sta...

    I finally got to stay at XYZ Speciale, and I came home truly moved. The spacious Room, large terrace, open-air bath with a retractable roof, the meals, and the staff’s hospitality—everything was outstanding. Dinner while watching the sunset was delicious, with a wonderful fusion of Japanese and Western flavors. At night, I’m glad I could share things I usually can’t say through the laser beam message. Above all, we could see a sky full of stars—the Milky Way with the naked eye—and even shooting stars. It was simply incredible. It’s an Accommodation that makes you want to come back right away. The only disappointment was that before going, I watched YouTube videos and blogs and was really looking forward to it—but the drinks in the refrigerator were not complimentary, and there was no plum juice welcome drink. Since the rate was more affordable than usual, it may not have been included this time; however, I wish it had been clearly stated that this Reservation was not eligible. If so, I would have brought extra drinks. Now I understand why the person who picked us up asked why we wanted to stop by a convenience store. Also regarding the open-air bath: getting in and out felt quite deep and difficult. A small step stool would be helpful. Still, I was able to stay at a wonderful Accommodation for the first time in a while and felt truly refreshed. I’ll be back again soon.

    Stress-free

    We were just dropped off at Shirahama Station and are now on the Panda Kuroshio train heading home. Before I forget how grateful I am—and to keep myself entertained during the 2.5-hour ride to Shin-Osaka—I’m writing this review while the train rocks along lol. Just as we were taken to Shirahama Station after checkout, we were also picked up there before check-in. The vehicle isn’t some rattling old car like at other places, so even someone like me got to feel a bit like I was on an upper-class vacation lol. We were told that there are no restaurants or convenience stores on-site or nearby, and they kindly stopped by a convenience store for us on the way. They also said they can provide Shuttle Service within Shirahama Town for lunch during a Multiple Night Stay, so they drove us to Toretore Market. We had zero stress—no buses or taxis in an unfamiliar place. For both breakfast and dinner, we didn’t have to go anywhere; we could enjoy our meals in the Room’s dining area while looking out at the ocean all the way to the horizon—again with that “upper-class” vibe and no stress lol. Chilling out with the sound of waves, sea breeze, starlight, and moonlight… During our stay the weather was great and there weren’t any anglers nearby, so we kept it fully open. But if the weather turns bad or you feel people around, you can close it with a remote—and it opens/closes quickly too—so no stress. At dinner time, the owner and staff checked in about our plans and comfort, and you could really tell they genuinely wanted everything to be as stress-free as possible. The sunsets from our Room terrace and from the sister property’s beach were beautiful; driving around in a Rolls-Royce was amazing; and soaking in their skin-beautifying Onsen—with that Mirabath too—was just fantastic. This was the most enjoyable Accommodation of all as we wrapped up my wife’s post-surgery Onsen recovery trip—such a happy finale. I guess I really am something like a top shareholder of good luck lol.

    Everything is excellent.

    The staff’s welcome was very courteous, the Room was clean, and the open-air bath was wonderfully relaxing with an ocean view. The meals were beautifully presented and perfectly suited to my taste—excellent. Above all, being able to dine slowly while looking out at the sea made it a truly extraordinary experience. The Rolls-Royce experience was also smooth and comfortable, making for a wonderful time.

    It was an unforgettable, exceptional experience.

    We stayed here to celebrate my partner’s birthday. First of all, the Accommodation’s location is outstanding—the open-air bath overlooking the coastline, the indoor dining area, and the view from the terrace are simply breathtaking. The highlight at the start was a seaside drive experience with the owner in what could be called this Accommodation’s mascot: a Rolls-Royce Dawn. The refined yet distinctive interior and carpet-like ride comfort were unforgettable, and as a car enthusiast, seeing the Lamborghini displayed at the entrance was also a rare and amazing experience. That said, this stay wasn’t about me—it was about my partner. She was delighted with everything: the drive experience, the huge in-room theater, the silky-smooth hot spring water, and the luxurious meals. She also loved the whole cake and the laser message, and I felt this Accommodation offers an excellent balance of surprise touches and comfort. The staff’s attentiveness and hospitality were wonderful as well. It’s quite far from our home, but we would love to return if we have another chance.

    We were extremely satisfied.

    We stayed at this Accommodation to celebrate my husband’s first birthday since we got married. From the very courteous welcome, we were shown to our Room, and since the weather was nice and we were sweating, the welcome drink (plum juice?) was delicious and made us very happy! They also took photos of us with the sea in the background. When we travel together, we’re both shy and rarely ask anyone, so we don’t have many photos of the two of us—your thoughtfulness throughout truly meant a lot to us. The view from our Room was a full panorama of the ocean; watching boats pass along the horizon was peaceful and incredibly relaxing. What my husband especially loved was how delicious the meals were! From seafood to meat, everything was wonderful—especially the sashimi seasoned with onion mousse. It was a flavor you can only experience here, and I definitely want to have it again…! Being able to spend quiet time together in our Room helped us recover from everyday fatigue. At night there were many clouds so we couldn’t enjoy a starry sky, but the nighttime laser show—with messages for everyone’s loved ones—was very moving. Staying at such a lovely Accommodation gave us wonderful memories. It seems there are local revitalization projects happening around this Accommodation, and we’ll be cheering you on from afar as things continue to grow. We would love to visit again with our family.

    We had a wonderful time.

    I was able to relax and unwind as time flowed by at an unhurried pace. I also slept soundly, and I even got to ride in a Rolls-Royce for the first time. What was especially amazing was the laser message. You rarely get an opportunity like this, and staying at this Hotel gave me the chance to share things I normally couldn’t express.     It was a wonderful Accommodation! We were very satisfied!

    We stayed here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. This Accommodation was truly wonderful—our satisfaction level was off the charts. Since the price is fairly high, we did have certain expectations, but the service and our Room exceeded them. First, the open-air bath: the view says it all—spectacular. Soaking in the Onsen while looking out over the vast ocean is an indescribably relaxing experience. The water quality was excellent too, leaving our skin silky smooth. The automatic privacy curtain was also very convenient and made us feel well cared for. The Room had a tablet connected to the front desk and even a 100-inch large screen—everything you could ask for. We actually booked after reading Reviews on IKYU.com, and we had been a bit worried because some older Reviews mentioned that you had to call the front desk for various requests, or that it wasn’t clearly explained that both the indoor bath and open-air bath are Onsen. However, all of those issues have been resolved, and we were genuinely impressed to see how they continually improve by listening to guest feedback. As for dining, everything was delicious. Since it was a birthday trip, they prepared a cake for us as well, and their response was smooth and flawless. If I had to mention one thing, I would have loved more local specialties in the meal—for example, being able to switch the shabu-shabu beef from Japanese Black Wagyu to Kumano beef would make satisfaction even higher. Also, the final rice dish was takikomi gohan (seasoned rice), but it felt quite standard; if it had been something like “kakimade gohan” or another local specialty dish instead, we could have enjoyed Wakayama cuisine even more. Overall, this was an outstanding Accommodation that we would definitely like to visit again. Thank you very much for providing such a wonderful time.

    The views are stunning.

    We stayed at this Accommodation during stormy weather. The night was overcast and we couldn’t see the moon or stars, but when the rain briefly stopped, the view of the sea was breathtaking. The open-air bath has a roof and front wall that can be opened and closed to your preferred width, so we could bathe comfortably even in the rain. The indoor Mirable bath was also fun. Dinner was served in our Room while we enjoyed the ocean view, so we truly didn’t need to leave at all—this is exactly what you’d expect from a secluded retreat. With skin-beautifying hot springs, delicious meals, and beautiful scenery, we were able to relax together as a couple even on a rainy day. Room design is a matter of taste, but the concrete finish felt cool and slightly cold. A larger rug around the sofa would add more warmth. Since we used the baths many times, a larger bath mat would also be more convenient. We would have been happier if drinks in the refrigerator were included rather than charged separately, and having drip coffee available would make it even more relaxing. As an open seaside Accommodation, especially at night it’s hard to avoid encountering insects—but it was such a lovely place that made us want to spend time out on the terrace anyway. Thank you for letting us experience the laser message and Rolls-Royce drive; my husband was truly delighted and moved by it. We are sincerely grateful. Next time, we hope for a starry sky and would like to make another Reservation. Thank you very much.

    A comfortable Accommodation.

    The Room had a Mirable showerhead and Mirabath, and I was impressed by the owner’s great sense of style! With a wonderful ocean view from the Room and in-room dining in a separate space, it felt very private, and the layout made it easy to move around. There were so many unique features you won’t find at other Accommodations—such as a large 4K projector, a big sofa, a ReFa hair dryer, an all-weather open-air bath, laser message effects, and even a drive in a Rolls-Royce—everything felt like a first-time experience! The portion sizes were just right, but I would have loved to see a bit more creativity in the menu. I love Onsen and have stayed at many Accommodations over the years, but it’s been a while since I’ve felt this satisfied for the price. This is an outstanding Accommodation where you can truly feel the hospitality of the owner and staff. I’ll definitely recommend it to my mother who loves Onsen!

    A wonderful Accommodation where you can enjoy an extraordinary escape

    Everything—from the Room, location, Onsen, and dining to the laser message presentation—felt truly extraordinary. I enjoyed every moment from start to finish and was able to relax to my heart’s content. The Room we stayed in was on a corner, so the view was flawless. With no man-made structures in sight, you can enjoy an unobstructed horizon! The bath in the Room can be switched between an open-air bath and an indoor bath with a single switch—my first time experiencing that, and it was great fun. Given the incredible setting, I highly recommend the open-air bath (laugh). There is also another indoor bath installed, and unbelievably, even that one had Onsen water coming straight from the tap! That truly surprised me. The water has a silky texture and leaves your skin smooth. Just as the staff said—“like soaking in lotion”—it really felt exactly like that. I’ve visited many Onsen areas before, but this was by far the best water quality I’ve ever experienced! I also thoroughly enjoyed the meals. There is a dedicated dining space in the Room where you can dine while looking out over the sea and sunset. Dinner featured preparations unlike anything I’d had before—and everything tasted absolutely delicious! Breakfast was incredibly luxurious as well! It seems the laser message is recognized by Guinness World Records. This was another first for me. If you tell the staff in advance what message you’d like displayed, it appears exactly as requested. It was very moving! This was my first trip to Wakayama Prefecture, and I’m truly glad I found this Accommodation. I was extremely satisfied and would love to visit again!

    We had a wonderful escape from everyday life.

    The location is simply outstanding. The open-air Onsen bath, soaking while gazing out at the vast ocean right in front of you, was silky-smooth and amazing. The meals were delicious and very filling. The Onsen shabu-shabu was especially better than expected. The laser show was lavish and clearly well-funded, and being taken for a drive along the coastline in a Rolls-Royce was an unforgettable, truly special experience. This is a Hotel I would love to visit again.

    The concept is good, but…

    The Hotel’s service concept is interesting, but the exposed-concrete-style interior of the Room does not fit. It lacks a resort feel and is dark. I don’t understand the point of displaying two supercars at the front desk. If anything, I think it ruins the Hotel’s atmosphere. The in-Room Onsen is nice, but its interior feels poorly finished. The food also doesn’t taste very professional. The laser treatment massage time is wonderful.

    A Hotel Recommended for Special Anniversaries

    We were able to stay at XYZ Speciale, which we had always wanted to visit, for our wedding anniversary. Since everything—from the Onsen open-air bath to all meals—was completed entirely within the Room, we never ran into other guests during our stay. The Room’s dining area also has a separate door from outside, so when it was time, the roll-down curtain quietly came down and everything was prepared out of sight. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast with an unobstructed ocean view. And at the end, a surprise whole cake—thank you very much! We were already full just from the meal, but you also provided a takeout container and ice packs, so we were able to enjoy it deliciously after returning home. At night, we were deeply moved by the laser show featuring messages we wrote for each other. The next morning, you even took us on a seaside drive in a Rolls-Royce convertible—an invaluable experience. It was unfortunate that we couldn’t see a sky full of stars due to the rainy weather, so we would love to visit again on a clear day. It truly became a wonderful stay that will remain in our memories. Thank you very much.

    Surprise

    This was my first stay here. The Accommodation had a stylish look, from the exterior to the interior, and I loved the design. The staff were attentive and considerate, and we had a wonderful time. As part of a surprise, there was a birthday cake, and they projected it onto a distant seawall with laser lights. The surprise message with music and laser beams truly moved me! On top of that, the Guinness certificate we received when leaving was another delightful surprise. I would definitely like to stay again.

    A truly extraordinary escape—feel like you’re on an overseas trip.

    I made a Reservation for the second day of my Shirahama trip with my mother. Since I didn’t know the area well, I found this Hotel by searching for an “Accommodation with great food.” It’s located at Tsubaki Onsen, south of Shirahama. The stylish exterior and the interior and furniture—apparently imported from Bali—make it feel like a special escape, as if you’re on an overseas trip. While gazing at the sea and sky, you can truly relax in the Onsen water, which feels like a beauty serum. The meals were just as every Review said—everything was absolutely delicious. Creative Japanese cuisine? French? The textures and flavors were unlike anything I’d had before, and I was very satisfied. The salmon chanchan-yaki at breakfast was incredibly good—I want to eat it again. The Rolls-Royce drive was also a rare experience, enjoying the bayfront scenery along the way. And the nighttime laser messages moved me deeply; seeing those dreamy words made me tear up because they expressed things that are hard to say face-to-face. Thank you for helping us make so many wonderful memories. This is an Accommodation I would definitely love to stay at again.

    A Relaxing Experience Just as Expected

    We stayed as a couple in our 60s. From check-in to check-out, we had more than enough time to feel completely satisfied. It’s a truly special private space. We were also comforted by the staff’s kind and thoughtful hospitality. The free-flowing natural Onsen water was excellent (wonderfully silky), and while the semi-open-air bath with its spectacular view was great, I especially want many people to experience the double skin-beautifying effect of the indoor bath’s Mirabath + Onsen. The laser message and the drive in an open-top Rolls-Royce made this a spring trip we will never forget.

    You can sense the Accommodation’s policies.

    The Onsen and meals felt very high quality. The creative use of laser beams was also excellent. Unfortunately, for a modern Accommodation like this, it was disappointing that there were no pajamas—only yukata. I understand the policy of keeping guests’ activities within their own Room, but I would have liked a more spacious shared area, such as a lobby.
