    We had a blissful time.

    We were very satisfied with the Room, where we could enjoy warm hospitality and a relaxing stay. The cuisine, featuring an abundance of ingredients from Fukui Prefecture, was also excellent. It is an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again.

    It was great.

    It was pouring rain that day, but the Ryokan entrance had a roof, so we were able to enter without getting wet. When I told them one of my companions has a disability, we were allowed to park in the space next to the entrance. Thank you very much. I was also glad we could check in in our Room without worrying about others. At dinner, thank you to the attendant who made helpful suggestions about drinks. The food wasn’t flashy, but I felt it was carefully prepared with great attention to detail. Of course, both breakfast and dinner tasted great, and the portions were just right—we enjoyed everything. The open-air bath in the Room (including the quality of the hot spring water) was excellent. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

    We were able to enjoy plenty of alcoholic drinks.

    It was truly wonderful to be able to enjoy a wide variety of delicious alcoholic drinks at dinner—and even in the evening until 10:00 p.m.—without worrying about the cost. If I had one request, I wish there had been a coffee machine among the complimentary lobby drinks. The grilled dancing abalone at dinner was outstanding. The private open-air bath was also very satisfying, with its hinoki wood finish.

    It was excellent.

    I stayed here alone last year, and this time I used it with my family. My family was very happy and said they want to come again. When I tried to make the next Reservation right away, I found that the checkout time for the Room we stayed in had changed from 12:00 to 10:00. It’s disappointing because we like to enjoy a relaxing morning Onsen and take our time after breakfast. Unfortunately, I canceled the Reservation. There are few Ryokan in Awara Onsen where even solo travelers can stay in a Room with a private Onsen, so I was very disappointed by the change in checkout time. It was an excellent Accommodation for refreshing after work. Thank you very much.

    The large public bath is spacious, allowing you to relax and unwind.

    Tojinbo was close by car, and we were able to see a wonderful sunset. Feeding the carp at the Hotel was also fun. The Room was very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. The abalone served at dinner was tender and cut smoothly with a knife. The staff brought the dishes at just the right times. This is an Accommodation where the Ryuo title match in shogi was held. It’s an Accommodation we would like to stay at again if we have the chance. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Golden Week

    The in-room Onsen was excellent. The open-air bath was also great, but since it was raining, I got wet on the way in and felt a bit cold. The food was plentiful and delicious.

    We stayed here to celebrate a family member’s birthday. When I called to ask whether you could prepare a cake, you offered several helpful suggestions, and on the day you delivered a wonderful cake to our Room when we returned. Thanks to your thoughtful care and hospitality, we had a truly lovely time. At checkout as well, saying “We heard it was your birthday,” you provided a wonderful service that made my family very happy. The customer service toward guests was excellent. On the other hand, I felt that the atmosphere and coordination in conversations among the counter staff sometimes came across slightly to guests, and I hope it will become even better.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I stayed here again after a long time, and the services have improved compared to my previous visit—I could really feel their efforts. Welcome drinks are common these days, but they even offered complimentary sweets. This service was available until checkout the next day, which I really appreciated (and the portions were generous). Personally, I was also glad there was a Plan without breakfast, since I like to take it easy in the morning... The 12:00 checkout time was excellent as well. The food was very delicious and satisfying. I recommend it for quality over quantity.

    We thoroughly enjoyed the crab!

    To match my wife’s wish to enjoy crab in Hokuriku, we chose the crab-focused kaiseki course. More than two crabs per person!? Served in a variety of preparations, it stayed delicious right to the end. Drinks were all-inclusive, with a great selection of both alcohol and soft drinks, which felt like excellent value. We chose a Room with an open-air Onsen bath; the large ceramic tub was perfect for relaxing as much as we liked, and we ended up not using the public bath at all. The Room was spacious enough, though the stepped layout was slightly concerning at times. All staff were pleasant and welcoming, and we felt we had a very comfortable stay. I expected enjoying crab in Hokuriku to be much more expensive, so considering both the quality and price, choosing Mimatsu was absolutely the right decision.

    I made a Reservation...

    I made a Reservation for my relatives, and they said it was a wonderful stay. Thank you for celebrating with a surprise cake with candles as part of the birthday Plan—the guest was truly delighted. The Room was also excellent: a Japanese-Western style room with beds. They were very satisfied with both the bath and the meals. They also enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snack corner, which everyone appreciated. I would love to stay here myself next time. Thank you very much for your kind hospitality.

    I thought it was a good Accommodation, but the staff member at the front desk during checkout had no smile, no motivation, and no sense of gratitude. That is the entirety of my rating. The meals are good, but overall too salty—disappointing. The woman at the café corner has an excellent personality. I recommend that the front desk staff learn from her.

    The temperature and ...

    The temperature and quality of the water in the room's open-air bath were excellent. However, the meals felt like they were simply pre-prepared dishes plated without much effort, which was very disappointing. It would have been better if there had been more creativity, such as using fish from Fukui for broth or incorporating vegetables from local farmers instead of focusing solely on crab. The white rice (Ichihomare) seemed to be the most delicious part of the meal.

    I had a comfortable stay.

    Two years ago in spring, I retired and was planning to travel around with my wife. However, just as we were about to start, we discovered my wife's illness. Last year was spent mostly on hospital stays and visits. We planned a trip during her treatment breaks, and this time we stayed at "Mimatsu" to celebrate her recovery. The open-air bath attached to the Room was very clean, and my wife was delighted. The meals were elaborate and delicious. We are also very grateful for the warm hospitality of the staff members. Thank you so much for taking care of us. (The TV remote control did not work even after replacing the batteries at the front desk; I forgot to mention this issue when checking out.)

    The semi-open-air bath in the Room was excellent.

    The free drinks at dinner included alcohol, and I might have had a bit too much. The semi-open-air bath in the room allowed me to relax while enjoying the countryside view, and with a 12:00 checkout, I soaked in the bath until the last minute. What was disappointing was the public bath. On the second day, there was no open-air bath, and even the indoor bath felt a bit underwhelming. If you book a room without a semi-open-air bath, it might not feel like an onsen experience.

    Visited for my wife's birthday and were completely satisfied!

    I used this Ryokan for my wife's birthday. Even though I made the Reservation at 2:00 AM on the same day due to difficulty in planning ahead, I received exceptionally hospitable service. Not only that, but everything from the Room design, Onsen quality, cuisine, welcome drinks, lounge services, and other offerings exceeded expectations for the price—leaving us extremely satisfied! Since it is near my wife's family home and a place we visit regularly, I am delighted to have found such a wonderful Ryokan. I will definitely use it again. Thank you very much!

    Fresh vegetables and fruits were not available.

    The boiled snow crab in the seafood kaiseki was not very tasty, but the sashimi was good. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes, but most were served cold. It would have been nice if guests could grill their own dried fish. The rice was delicious.

    Hospitality at Heart

    A traditional large Ryokan that exceeded expectations and completely changed my initial thoughts. The Room was renovated, the welcome drinks were abundant, and the large garden provided an extraordinary experience. Although I only had the breakfast course, it was enough to fully enjoy the Ryokan's cuisine in the morning. I would love to visit again!

    Accommodation since February this year

    Last time, we visited as a couple, but this time I stayed with my mother who came from another prefecture. Awara has excellent hot spring quality, and my mother was delighted to relax in the room's bath. We enjoyed fresh fish for dinner in the room and had roll cake and coffee at the lobby café the next day. We were able to take our time until check-out.

    Love Onsen!

    I love Onsen and solo travel, and as someone in their late 50s, I often find it hard to find accommodations that cater to solo travelers. Many places only offer single or small twin rooms, but this accommodation allowed me to stay in a room with an open-air bath! I was so happy that I enjoyed the bath multiple times. I also used the large public bath, but it was a bit disappointing that the one I entered at night didn’t have an open-air bath. Meals were served in a large hall without partitions, with tables lined up. Each table had a room number displayed on it, which surprised me. Even for someone my age, I wondered about the security aspect of this setup. If you continue welcoming solo travelers in the future, perhaps consider measures to ensure younger guests can feel secure as well. Many foreign staff members were working there, and they all moved efficiently with smiles on their faces—it was very pleasant. Since I was sightseeing by bus, having shuttle service available for both Ashihara Onsen and Awara Yunomachi was very convenient. Strolling through your beautiful garden was also enjoyable. This is definitely an accommodation I'd love to stay at again!

    The garden is wonder...

    The garden is wonderful, with colorful koi fish that we enjoyed watching. The dinner was well-portioned for us older guests and featured elaborate dishes, making it the best among the four Ashihara Onsen accommodations we have stayed at. The local craft beer was also delicious. Unfortunately, the bath was of the lowest rank.

    A Trip to Celebrate Our Daughter's 1st Birthday

    We used the "Onsen Debut Support Plan for Babies" at Bettei Miyu. We are very grateful to all the staff and those in charge for their kind and attentive service. The room was clean, and it was wonderful that our baby could also enjoy the onsen, allowing us to bathe together as a family. The meals were abundant, with more than we could eat, and everything was incredibly delicious. The freshly prepared dishes were served one after another, so we could enjoy warm food. Since our daughter is still very young, it was difficult to go sightseeing extensively, but having a drugstore and supermarket nearby gave us peace of mind. The all-inclusive content exceeded our expectations, and the beautiful garden made it enjoyable to stay within the accommodation without getting bored. In the early morning, we appreciated being able to purchase local souvenirs at reasonable prices in the lobby. This is an accommodation we would definitely like to revisit as a family again someday. Thank you very much for your hospitality this time!

    I thoroughly enjoyed the private Onsen open-air bath in the guest room.

    With the Diamond benefit late check-out, I was able to stay until noon. I started with the large public bath and enjoyed the private Onsen open-air bath in my room about 10 times. I used a yukata as a substitute for a bathrobe and indulged in the Onsen experience. Having an Onsen in the room really makes you want to use it, doesn't it?

    I had a relaxing time.

    We visited for the first time as a family of three. Staying at Bettei Miyu, the facilities and the private open-air bath in the room were excellent and well-equipped. Additionally, all drinks were complimentary with a wide variety available. However, as first-time guests, we would have appreciated more detailed explanations. For instance, it was difficult to locate the temperature adjustment for the private open-air bath (found under the sink after some searching). When we requested additional cups, they were not delivered promptly until we called reception. The lounge was spacious with a great selection of drinks; however, it took some effort to find an essential bottle opener until we asked an employee who happened to pass by—it was hidden behind an area out of sight. While these issues may not be problematic for repeat visitors, they caused slight stress for us as first-timers. The meals were perfectly portioned with plenty of variety and very delicious!

    Excellent

    When I called to request a wheelchair, they also reserved a handicapped parking space for us. The Room was near the elevator, and during dinner, a kind staff member from Myanmar assisted us. My elderly parents were delighted, and it became a wonderful trip.

    The bathroom and dressing area were very spacious and comfortable. The meals were also delicious.

    Dinner is excellent.

    The Room was understandably old, so there was a slight smell that bothered me, but the private open-air bath attached to the room was excellent. Dinner included an all-you-can-drink option with alcohol, and I enjoyed it leisurely and deliciously.

    Excellent service

    We stayed with our child and had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff and dining staff were incredibly kind and attentive to our child, who was very happy and eager to visit again. The Room with an open-air bath overlooking the garden was fantastic, allowing us to enjoy a truly special time. Highly recommended for families traveling with children! We will definitely stay here again when visiting Fukui Prefecture. Thank you!
