    I had a comfortable stay.

    Rikka offers a great view of Mount Yufu, making you truly feel like you're in Yufuin. The Room was spotless and well-designed, ensuring a comfortable stay. The open-air bath was always at the perfect temperature, allowing for multiple relaxing soaks. Even small details like the fully automated toilet added to the comfort of our stay! The hospitality from all staff members was exceptional. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. Thank you very much!

For the meat dishes, reducing the portion size while upgrading the quality might be a better approach. Overall, the food was delicious. Some male staff members provided exceptional service, which I believe is a key factor in their high ratings. Thank you for providing such a pleasant and comfortable experience. However, one disappointing aspect was that the carefully prepared dishes lost their appeal when served by a female staff member wearing flashy nail polish during plating.

    A relaxing accommodation.

    The staff spoke in a kind and gentle tone. My 1-year-old daughter, who usually cries due to severe shyness, was able to stay without crying during this stay. The Onsen had the perfect temperature, making it tempting to enjoy a long soak. We were very satisfied with the meals as we could enjoy them leisurely in a private room! We would love to stay here again.

    Everything was great!

    Arriving in Yufuin around 10 o'clock, we first went to check where the property was. Despite it being before checkout time for other guests, they kindly provided us with various information and took care of our luggage, making us feel very good from the start. Even after checking in, everyone was pleasant as expected, and I was impressed by how well-trained the staff were. With only six rooms, we were able to spend a relaxing and calm time; everything was simple yet stylish. The dishes used for meals were also stylish and could be enjoyed both with taste and sight. It was a very satisfying property! Highly recommended.

    It was excellent.

    It was excellent. It started to snow a little, but I was grateful for being greeted with an umbrella. The Room was clean, and since it was very cold that day, the open-air bath while watching the snow was amazing. The food was also very delicious and filling. Additionally, the staff were very kind to us. My parents were with me as well, and they were delighted. At checkout, we were waved off until we could no longer see each other. I would like to visit again next winter.

    Annual trip with parents

    We stayed for one night with my parents in February. The room was smaller than expected, but the semi-open-air Onsen was spacious and felt amazing. The cleaning was thorough, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we could have seconds without hesitation, which left us very satisfied.

    A Healing Space

    We visited from Osaka during my wife's birthday month. We were able to relax in the largest private open-air bath at Rokka. For dinner, we were served by a thoughtful lady, and we had a wonderful time listening to various stories. If we ever need this kind of peace of mind again, we will definitely visit as a couple. We look forward to your hospitality at that time. We stayed for two nights, one in Beppu Onsen and one in Yufuin, but I preferred Yufuin. This might be because we were able to stay at Rokka.

    A Moment of Relaxation

    This was our fifth stay at Rokka. My mother and I stayed in our favorite Room No. 3 (for the fourth time). We spent our time simply relaxing and unwinding. The Onsen with a view of Mount Yufu is absolutely amazing. Room No. 3 has a tatami space, which makes it very comfortable and relaxing. We have met the staff several times, and they always approach us in a friendly manner, providing impeccable service. During this stay, there were several dishes featuring crab on the menu. When we mentioned that my daughter cannot eat crab, they immediately prepared alternative dishes for her. Although we hadn't mentioned this dietary restriction before, as there was no crab in previous stays, we truly appreciated their prompt response. One minor concern was the dryness in the Room. While it might be due to the season, the humidifying air purifier didn’t seem sufficient. We moved the towel rack from the washroom area to the living space and hung all the used towels to dry. By morning, they were completely dry. The delicious meals, the Onsen, and the thoughtful care of the staff always leave us feeling rejuvenated. We will definitely visit again.

    It was a Ryokan that both my spouse and I were very impressed with.

    I stayed at this Ryokan, which has high Review ratings, to celebrate my wife's birthday. I was impressed by the staff's attentiveness and consideration. When I mentioned during dinner that we were staying for my wife's birthday, I was surprised and touched to find a special cake with "Happy Birthday" written on it served as the final dessert at the next morning's breakfast. The Onsen, with its indoor bath, was also very pleasant. Additionally, every dish at dinner was delicious, and the crab rice at the end was so good that I had seconds. I've stayed at many other Ryokans in Yufuin, but this one ranks in the top 1-2. I would like to visit again in a different season.

    We stayed as a family of four during the New Year. We were able to enjoy the best hospitality in the best space. Thank you very much. This is a property we definitely want to visit again. The onsen in the room was also excellent, but it was a bit disappointing that it became lukewarm due to a gas failure at night... so we gave it four stars.

    It was really good.

    Since it had been a while since my last visit to Yufuin, I decided to stay at the No.1 rated property. As expected, it was a wonderful stay, with the room, onsen, and meals all being highly rated by many guests. The room's onsen and bath were particularly new and clean. Other spaces were well-maintained and comfortable. Although I couldn't watch YouTube on the TV for some reason, it was okay. The meals were delicious both at night and in the morning, although there was a slight disappointment with the sashimi, but I felt considerable effort was made. I was amazed by the level of service at this price. One point to note is that the property is located in a nature-rich farm road area, so you might get lost if you don't arrive while it's still light.

    We were able to secure a Reservation at the famous Rokka, which is known for being difficult to book, and stayed for one night from Sunday as a couple. Both the food and the Room exceeded our expectations, making it a very satisfying stay. We could enjoy a panoramic view of Mount Yufu from the Room, and the bath was spacious, allowing us to spend a relaxing time. We would like to visit again if we can get another Reservation.     A long-cherished wish comes true, Stays

    It was difficult to secure a reservation, but a last-minute cancellation allowed us to finally stay. There are six private rooms built in the countryside. Since you have to go outside from the front desk to reach the room, it was cold during the chilly season. I will start with the disappointing points. 1. The heating was only an air conditioner, so it took time for the room to warm up and it was dry. The floor was also cold, and it felt chilly. Reviewing the floor heating, etc., is necessary. 2. The drinks in the refrigerator were charged. I have stayed at properties in the same price range, and most are all-inclusive. I felt that there should be a service since the unit price of a drink is inexpensive. 3. Like the room, the indoor bath was an open-air bath, so the washing area was quite cold, and I almost caught a cold. I felt that heating is also necessary here. 4. The fittings were poor, and the sliding doors did not close without force, making quite a noise. When the wind blew strongly, it rattled, which was annoying. These are the points I thought were bad. The checkout was set at 10:30, but we checked out before 9:00, thinking it is usually 11:00. Good points: 1. The staff's service was polite. The welcome, send-off, and service during meals were attentive. 2. The meals, especially dinner, used high-quality ingredients such as abalone and Wagyu beef. The preparation was also meticulous. Breakfast seemed to have fewer items like omelets and mostly pickles. 3. Since the stay was on the winter solstice, yuzu was floating in the bath, which was delightful. However, there were few, and the scent was not noticeable, which was disappointing. The satisfaction with the meals was rated No.1 online, so perhaps my expectations were too high, but I did not feel it stood out compared to other properties. I wanted to stay in Yufuin (Yufuin) at least once, so it became a memorable experience. I hope this will be helpful for those considering a reservation in the future.

    Second Stays

    I was able to spend my time leisurely.

    It was my first time visiting Yufuin since my student days. After checking various sites, I made a reservation at "Rokka" due to the good reviews and location. I heard it's quite difficult to get a reservation, but I was lucky to book the "Ichiban" room. The interior, with its scent and warmth of wood, was very much to my liking. From the room, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Mount Yufu. Since the temperature had dropped, the top of the mountain was covered in snow. The open-air bath in the room was truly the best. The temperature was just right for me. I ended up taking a bath multiple times. The amenities were well-stocked, so much so that you don't need to bring anything. Meals were served in a semi-private room in a separate building. They used a lot of ingredients from Oita, and both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The dinner drink menu was also extensive. All the staff remembered the names of the guests and addressed us by name, which was truly wonderful and made me very happy. I'm glad I could use this place as a reward trip for myself. I thought I would like to use it again when I visit Yufuin next time. I want to visit in a different season next time. Thank you very much.

    It is a Ryokan I would like to visit again.

    It is a very popular Ryokan, and I was lucky to be able to make a Reservation at the last minute while on the waiting list. The food and service were wonderful. I have been to various Ryokans, but I think it is rare to find a Property where all the food is delicious. Both the meals and the Room had a complete sense of privacy, and I enjoyed the open-air bath in the Room many times. I visited for his birthday, and it was very satisfying.     With only six rooms available, meals served in private rooms, and an onsen in the room, I was able to relax without worrying about others. The room I stayed in this time was Room 1, and I had a breathtaking view of Mount Yufu (Yufudake) right in front of me, which I could enjoy all to myself. Above all, everything from the room to the meals was in a stylish space, and I received heartfelt hospitality, allowing me to experience an extraordinary stay. It's quite difficult to secure a reservation, but I definitely want to stay here again when I visit Yufuin (Yufuin). Since the design seems to differ depending on the room, I would like to try staying in other rooms next time.

    I was healed.

    I stayed in Room 4. The room was spacious and clean, truly relaxing. The floor was comfortable to walk on barefoot, and the bath was at the right temperature. The bed was neither too hard nor too soft. The bath towels were thin, but there were several, which I think suggested taking multiple baths. The amenities were all provided, so there was no inconvenience. There were complimentary snacks, which were delicious. As it is a Ryokan with six rooms, the staff's attention to detail was excellent, making it a comfortable stay. The meals were creatively prepared with ingredients, and the Oita beef and rice sourced from the neighborhood were particularly delicious. In any case, the bath was so pleasant that I took multiple baths. Although Yufuin is somewhat inconvenient in terms of transportation, I would like to visit again.

    You can enjoy a breathtaking view of Mount Yufu from the room window! It's truly impressive. The open-air bath features an Onsen with a water quality that I prefer, and the temperature is just right, making my skin feel smooth and pleasant. I stretched out my arms and legs and fully enjoyed the Onsen. However, it's a pity that there are no hooks or hangers to hang the bathrobe. The cookies prepared in the room were incredibly delicious, and I enjoyed them with coffee. The meals are generally delicious. However, I wish there was something memorable that stands out.     Everything was good.

    It is far from Yufuin's Yunotsubo Kaido, and the surroundings are rice fields with no shops. However, you will be impressed the moment you step inside. The wall of firewood in the lobby and the pleasant scent of wood in the room, the stylish architecture and interior design, and the quality of the flooring in the room make it comfortable to walk barefoot. The texture of the samue room wear, the comfort of the chairs, the quality of the hot spring water (I bathed five times!), the food, and everything else were excellent. Above all, the meticulous attention of the staff was the most impressive. We were traveling with children, and the exceptional service we received was something you would never find at other accommodations, which made the children very happy. The only regret was not being able to read a book at such a wonderful inn. Next time I visit, I will definitely bring a book and read on the comfortable terrace!
