    Highly recommended.

    I stayed in the Garden Twin accommodation. The room's entrance was close to the dining area and hallway, but it was a quiet and clean room that didn’t bother me at all. The bath was slightly small, but the relaxing hot water was excellent. Both the dinner course meal and breakfast were delicious, making me want to return just for the food. Additionally, the service was excellent.

    The welcome sweets and hospitality helped ease the fatigue of the journey. The meals were kaiseki cuisine, all delicious and enjoyed at a leisurely pace. The portions were generous, featuring local ingredients, with the fish being particularly delightful. The Hotel staff were very warm and welcoming, making me want to visit again.

    Stay warm and take care to keep your cat healthy!

    A small ryokan near Onomichi Waterway and Senkoji Ropeway. Start your journey by visiting the Cat Alley to meet about five friendly cats. After spending time with them, head back to the accommodation. Familiar coasters and beautifully crafted dishes featuring Setouchi's delicacies await you. The refined flavor using apple vinegar is truly satisfying. Enjoy Hiroshima's local sake before a restful sleep. This accommodation perfectly matches the tranquil atmosphere of Onomichi.

    Highly satisfied

    Recently, it has become difficult to enjoy satisfying hospitality and cuisine without paying high prices, so I decided to choose a culinary Ryokan. The property was impeccably clean, and while the Room was not very spacious, it was comfortable and allowed for a relaxing stay. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptional and did not disappoint.

    Wonderful Accommodation

    The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were extremely delicious. It is no doubt that the impression from my previous stay was excellent. The bath was very convenient to use; although it is not an Onsen, it was so user-friendly that I didn’t mind at all. The staff, both male and female, were kind and maintained a comfortable distance in their interactions, making the stay very pleasant. At check-in, after walking around outside before arriving, we enjoyed a cold welcome drink which was very refreshing. My husband and I were quite thirsty and asked for a refill; however, the second serving of tea was lukewarm and weak green tea that wasn’t tasty. Perhaps we shouldn’t have asked for more—it was slightly disappointing. Even cold water would have been fine in this case. The young staff member could have shown a bit more attentiveness here. That said, this is undoubtedly an excellent accommodation overall. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Excellent dining

    The rooms are compact yet functional. Above all, the meals were beyond imagination and truly exceptional. While delicious meals are common, it’s rare to encounter ones that leave such a lasting impression. The presentation was beautiful, and the fresh ingredients were carefully prepared to enhance their flavors. The morning sea bream rice, with fresh sea bream, sesame sauce, and dashi broth, created an unforgettable harmony. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again in my lifetime.

    Upon entering the accommodation, you are greeted with a stylish and calming atmosphere, and the staff's hospitality was excellent. The room was clean, with a perfect distance between the large-screen TV and the bed. The bathroom had a structure that allowed you to open the window while bathing, which was very refreshing. Meals were colorful, elegant, and delicious. It was the perfect hospitality to soothe a tired body after cycling, allowing for a relaxing stay until check-out time. I would definitely like to use this accommodation again on my next visit.

    Exquisite Cuisine

    This was my second stay. I returned to enjoy the elegant and delicate cuisine once again, and it exceeded my expectations. The dishes were absolutely wonderful. The front desk staff and restaurant team were all very kind and attentive. A special thanks to Ms. A, who served us at the restaurant this time—her cheerful conversation enhanced the flavors of the dishes even more, teaching me what true hospitality is all about. This is one of the accommodations I would love to stay at again for their exceptional cuisine if given another opportunity.

    Impressive service

    We stayed as a family in 2 rooms. Meals were served at one table for all 4 of us. One of us had work in the morning, but the early breakfast service was well-prepared and efficient. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Thank you for seeing us off as well!

    It was a blissful time.

    I used this accommodation during my trip to Onomichi. Initially, I planned to stay for one night, but since I managed to free up more time, I requested a multiple night stay just a week before my arrival, and they kindly accommodated my request. The room was clean and perfectly sized for two people. The facility was excellent as well. The bath made of cypress wood was incredibly relaxing and helped soothe my tired body. What impressed me the most was the food! Every dish served was absolutely delicious! The meals featuring ingredients from Hiroshima and the Seto Inland Sea were outstanding. The staff in charge of the meals were very polite, and even at checkout, they helped carry our luggage—providing exceptional service until the very end. It truly felt like a blissful experience. I would love to visit again someday. Thank you so much!

    It was a truly wonderful experience. Everything was excellent, especially the meals—both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. The host's attention to detail extended not only to the ingredients but also to beverages, offering perfect pairings even for those who do not drink alcohol. This far exceeded the level of many high-end establishments in Kyoto. I hope to visit again in autumn two or three years from now. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Exceptional hospitality and exquisite cuisine

    I stayed here for a solo trip. From the moment of the Shuttle Service from Onomichi Station, the hospitality was exceptional. Every staff member was polite yet not overly formal, providing a very pleasant experience. The Room is compact but extremely comfortable and clean. Above all, the highlight is undoubtedly the cuisine. The refined and high-quality kaiseki dishes far exceeded what I would expect at this price point. My stay was centered around enjoying the food, and everything surpassed my expectations—it was all delicious and brought me happiness. I definitely want to visit again and highly recommend it to others. Thank you for an amazing time!

    Hiroshima Koshihikari Rice - The Best!

    The breakfast was particularly delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the main dish of sea bream with almond sauce was exquisite. Although there weren't many dishes, it was very satisfying. I also love Tomonoura's "Onyado Chikuchin," where I've stayed twice before, and since this is a sister accommodation, the room atmosphere is quite similar. My husband is tall, so a slightly larger room would have been more comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Stayed here for his birthday! It became the best memory!

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate his birthday. The facility was very clean and had a calm atmosphere, and the staff's service was extremely polite. The food was all delicious, and we were very satisfied! For this special occasion, we requested room decorations in advance as a surprise, and it turned out even more wonderful than we imagined. We were truly moved by how beautifully it was done. They also responded carefully to our requests, which was incredibly helpful. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we had an absolutely amazing time. We would love to stay here again. Highly recommended accommodation!

    Highly Satisfying Accommodation

    I booked a 1-night, 2-day stay for the first time. The accommodation had a very stylish exterior, and while compact, the room had a lovely atmosphere with attention to detail throughout. As mentioned in the reviews, the meals were beautifully presented down to every detail—so much so that I couldn't resist taking photos! We enjoyed them while saying it felt almost too beautiful to eat. Above all, the staff's attentiveness was exceptional; they responded perfectly to our health concerns, and we are truly grateful for their care. Thank you very much. This is an accommodation I would definitely want to use again when visiting Onomichi.

    Great value for money.

    The room, renovated last December, was available at a special commemorative price, so I decided to stay for the first time. Although I was initially concerned about the 23-square-meter room being small, it didn’t feel cramped at all; rather, it was compact and just right. However, it was disappointing that the hangers were exposed and the space beside the bed when getting off was narrow. The scent of wood from the cypress bath still felt fresh, and despite its size not being large, its layout and design made it practical and easy to use. Room 208 "Gunjou" had even been featured on a TV program called "Hirunandesu." Since it's located in a city area, most of what you see from the window are residential houses—this might be unavoidable. The food lived up to its reviews; instead of simply serving high-end ingredients as they are, they were delicately prepared with great care—truly embodying what cuisine should be. For example, while there wasn’t fatty tuna or okose sashimi served nor steak for meat dishes (it was roast beef instead), everything tasted deliciously crafted. Breakfast wasn’t extravagant either but included fresh sea bream for tai-chazuke with generous portions and tasty sesame sauce. Before checking out when I mentioned visiting Keima Kamaboko Shop nearby—they kindly informed me about free parking close by which saved me from walking there! If you don’t mind that there’s no onsen or that it's situated in an urban area—it’s a cost-effective ryokan worth considering!

    Onomichi Journey

    Onomichi Honsei offers exceptional cuisine that was absolutely delicious. We stayed for two nights and three days, and the beautifully presented kaiseki meals were incredibly satisfying. The local sakura sea bream was prepared in various styles, including sashimi, simmered dishes, shabu-shabu, kamameshi (rice cooked with sea bream), and ochazuke (tea over rice), all served in elegant tableware that made us want to take photos. The staff were extremely polite and attentive, making us want to visit again. Thank you very much!

    The food is absolutely delicious!

    First, my two daughters checked in, and we were grateful for the kind and attentive service from the shuttle service to check-in. Although dinner felt a bit rushed, everything from start to finish was absolutely delicious and highly satisfying. Usually, there’s at least one dish that doesn’t meet expectations, but every single one was a delight both visually and in taste. The entire staff provided such warm and excellent hospitality that it made our trip truly heartwarming. It’s a bit disappointing that there is no large public bath; however, the unique features of the room's bath were enjoyable. We will definitely stay again when we visit Onomichi!

    Onomichi Hansei-san, it's the best!

    I have stayed at Onomichi Hanase about five times. I always travel alone. At check-in, they serve green tea from Imagawa Tamakouen Chaho and monaka from Kikujudo. Both are delicious, so I bought green tea from Imagawa Tamakouen Chaho and matcha mochi from Kikujudo on my way back! I look forward to the meals, so I keep my lunch light on the day of arrival! I can't wait for 5:30 PM! For dinner, it's a seafood feast with excellent ingredients, and each dish is meticulously prepared. They also use local vegetables and wakame, which is healthy and delightful for a vegetable lover like me. The broth is incredibly delicious, and I end up drinking it all from the hot pot. This time, it was my first stay in a year, and I noticed that the orientation of the tables in the dining area seemed different, only to find out that they expanded the dining area into the parking lot. It became much more spacious than before, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. However, I preferred the previous chairs... Last time, the staff member who provided shuttle service from Onomichi Station also served dinner. They were a very friendly peer (same grade) and we had a pleasant conversation during the meal explanation, making the dining experience enjoyable! All the staff members are welcoming and wonderful. Since I'm alone, I book a room that isn't very spacious, but the building is relatively new and they clean it thoroughly, so I can have a comfortable stay! The room has a coffee maker, allowing me to choose my preferred position to enjoy coffee! There is also green tea from Imagawa Tamakouen Chaho and black tea. I would appreciate a clock that shows temperature and humidity, as I like to manage the room's climate. After dinner, I took a walk to Onomichi City Hall, about a 5-minute walk, as a form of exercise. The rooftop is open to the public until 9 PM, allowing you to enjoy the night views of Onomichi Waterway, Onomichi Bridge, and Senkoji Temple. For breakfast, the sea bream is buried in a sesame sauce pond. It comes with broth so you can make sea bream chazuke. The meal includes rice cooked in a shiny earthen pot, sea bream head miso soup, tamagoyaki, and kamaboko from Keima. The sea bream head miso soup has a rich sea bream broth and is incredibly delicious, so I had seconds. Before I knew it, it was 10:30 AM, the time for the shuttle service back to Onomichi Station. I had a refreshing and enjoyable trip to Onomichi! For souvenirs, I bought hassaku oranges and mandarins! They are cheap and delicious.

    Worth traveling for dinner

    First and foremost, the dinner is simply outstanding. Two weeks before our stay, we dined at a Michelin one-star restaurant in Tokyo, but my spouse and I agreed that this dinner was definitely superior. The chef, Mr. Suga, excels in seasoning, presentation, creativity, menu composition, and ingredients. Everything is remarkable. We would revisit Onomichi just to enjoy that dinner again. (Of course, the breakfast is also delicious.) Naturally, all the staff are very polite and kind. The property is newly built, so it is extremely clean. However, it is easy to misunderstand that there is no onsen or large public bath. You will use the bath in your room. But don't underestimate it. The water is soft. It feels silky to the touch, making you wonder, "Really? Are they using tap water?" (It might also be due to the fact that we stayed in a room with a hinoki bath.) This is a small Stays in the city, but we encountered a truly wonderful property after a long time. It was a Stays we would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    The meals are exquisite.

    I stayed in a Room with a cypress bath. It might have been a new Room as it had a very nice scent of cypress. The Room felt a bit small, but it was fine for a one-night stay. There was a coffee and tea set, and the Room was clean. All the dishes in the dinner course were delicious. The dish with the shirako sauce served first was especially exquisite. The sea bream chazuke for breakfast came with plenty of sesame sauce, and I would love to come back just to have it again. It was close to the downtown area of Onomichi, making it a great location for sightseeing.

    Wonderful!

    I made a reservation looking forward to the meals and the pleasant atmosphere of the room, and the hospitality, meals, room space, and amenities were all wonderful. There was a little noise from the TV in the next room, but it became quiet after 10:30 PM, and I was able to sleep comfortably.
