    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    The atmosphere and service were excellent, allowing for a calm and pleasant stay without any complaints. With the late check-out, I could enjoy breakfast at my own pace without worrying about time, making it a truly meaningful experience. I would love to stay here again when visiting Kyoto. Thank you very much!

    I stayed at the accommodation last month as well, and once again, I truly appreciate your hospitality. Although the weather was unfortunate and I couldn't use the balcony much, the garden was very beautiful. The room was thoroughly cleaned, allowing me to spend my time comfortably. The staff were always welcoming with smiles, making my stay very pleasant. Breakfast had just the right portions and featured ingredients that were health-conscious and enjoyable. I would love to stay here again if I have another opportunity.

    I stayed for one nig...

    I stayed for one night in a room with a Nijo Castle view. The room was modern, featuring a red and black theme, with full glass windows on the Nijo Castle side, offering an open and spacious feel. Although I had some trouble with the Nespresso machine and had to request a replacement, the staff's response was exceptionally polite and made me feel almost apologetic for asking. It was slightly disappointing that milk was provided in powdered form rather than portioned liquid. The amenities were lovely, especially the wooden brush instead of plastic. For breakfast, I could choose between Japanese cuisine or a well-being option. I went with the recommended Japanese meal, which used carefully selected ingredients and tasted excellent. Next time, I would like to try staying under the well-being plan to experience different rooms and amenities.

    The creative cuisine did not suit my taste.

    The dishes felt a bit too unconventional. While not lacking in taste, something felt off. Breakfast, however, was delicious and enjoyable. Additionally, the sight of the garden moss being maintained with sprinklers was occasionally enchanting.

    It was a comfortable stay.

    The cleaning was thorough, and the facilities had everything necessary. However, there were not enough hangers. I ended up using the hangers from bathrobes, which are not commonly used by Japanese guests. Additionally, while the indirect lighting in the sofa area created a nice atmosphere, it felt too dim for reading. A desk lamp in the closet or somewhere similar would be helpful without disrupting the ambiance—though younger staff might not understand this need. Dinner felt innovative as described in its title. While not every dish stood out, we were generally satisfied with the creative ideas behind them. Since I’m not very knowledgeable about food, this is based on my wife’s impressions. Breakfast could start as late as 10:00 AM and checkout was until 12:00 PM. As this trip wasn’t for sightseeing purposes, we were able to relax and found it very comfortable overall. With fewer rooms available, the hotel maintained a quiet and calm atmosphere. Although expensive, it felt better than larger hotels within a similar price range.

    Wonderful!!

    Located just one street west of the main road, this lovely Hotel offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere despite its convenient location. The Hotel itself has a calm and relaxing vibe, and both the Room and restaurant were excellent. The dishes were beautifully presented in a Kyoto-style manner. Even though it was only a one-night stay, it was enough to feel fully refreshed.

    1 Michelin Star Small Luxury Hotel

    Located just a 2-minute walk from Nijojo-mae Subway Station, the location is excellent. The lobby and garden are seamlessly connected, creating an impressive atmosphere. The Room features a vermilion color scheme, exuding elegance and luxury. The staff provided service that exceeded our expectations—thank you for your thoughtful care. We had dinner and breakfast at Makura. With only a few other guests present, we enjoyed our meals in a quiet setting. This Hotel is highly recommended for those looking to relax and unwind in peace.

    It was very quiet an...

    It was very quiet and relaxing. The view of Nijo Castle was great, and the location is convenient, being close to the subway. We were able to use it at a very reasonable price during the 24-hour campaign. We were lucky. If we have the chance, we would like to stay here again. Thank you very much.

    For solo travelers

    I had a pleasant stay from start to finish. The Room offered a wonderful view of Nijo Castle, allowing me to experience an extraordinary atmosphere. The staff were friendly, and I was able to enjoy my meal even alone, as they engaged in conversation with me. Thank you very much. If I may say, it would be perfect if I could listen to music in the bath.

    Quiet, calm, and delicious meals.

    The location and the small number of rooms make it quiet and calm, which is nice. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delightful and delicious. The soy milk porridge in the morning was particularly good. Also, the staff during meals answered our questions politely, leaving a good impression. We had some difficulty finding a parking space as there were no vacancies, but we were lucky to find one just in time.

    Hotel where you can relax in the Room and restaurant.

    I had made a reservation before the rebranding but couldn't visit due to the state of emergency. This time, I finally stayed under the pretext of our silver wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, I was surprised, thinking, "Is it here?" But as I passed through the entrance from the narrow alley and arrived at the lobby, seeing the autumn leaves in the garden made me exclaim, "Oh, amazing..." The lobby, centered around a polished basalt table, was chicly arranged, and the view of the garden and the autumn leaves at their peak in the central water basin was stunning. The calculated and dynamic presentation was wonderful, and my excitement rose. The front desk staff maintained a calm smile and courteous service from check-in. Since I had boldly mentioned our silver wedding anniversary, we received beautiful flowers in the room, and when I asked the guide to take a photo, they readily agreed, making it a great memory. The room's window felt larger than the image in the photos, offering a very open view. From the room on the 4th floor, you can see the roof of Ninomaru Palace over the south gate of Nijo Castle, and in the distance, you can see the mountain range of Kitayama. When I asked the front desk for recommendations on nearby shops with delicious cakes and baked goods to have tea in the room, they immediately introduced me to a recommended shop. I was impressed by their attentiveness. The purchased sweets were indeed delicious. During dinner at Makura, I was surprised to be greeted by someone who had been at La Baie in Ritz Osaka. I was touched that they remembered me even though it was about 10 years ago. As I age, I want to revisit restaurants and hotels with such people. While the facilities and food are important, a place with "that person" has value that rivals them. Thank you very much for the enjoyable conversation and thoughtfulness. The dishes, which skillfully incorporated the image of Japanese cuisine with a focus on seasonal elements, were all delicious. On this day, I particularly liked the casarecce and duck. While drawing out the umami of the ingredients like Japanese cuisine, I felt a solid classical French foundation, which I really liked. The autumn leaves visible from the seat were at their best timing, and I was glad to have been taken care of here. It's a small hotel with almost no additional facilities, but with its great location, wonderful staff, comfortable and scenic rooms, and high-quality restaurant, I think it's a hotel worth staying at leisurely to enjoy the meals. I will definitely find another opportunity to visit.

    A Relaxing Stay

    The stay was relaxing with a small number of rooms. We had dinner and breakfast, and I felt that the food, service, and atmosphere were to my liking. The atmosphere of the room was calm even with the use of vermilion, and the bamboo grove outside the window was beautiful. It would have been even better if the curtains and lighting could be controlled with a tablet as a facility.

    It was my first visi...

    It was my first visit in two years. The words from the staff at check-in, "Welcome back, it's been two years," left a strong impression on me. It's often said at hotels where I frequently stay, but even though it was only my second time after a long absence, I thought they checked customer information properly. The bath chair was high, which was very convenient for us as a couple with weak knees, so we were satisfied. I immediately noticed that the restaurant had changed. The food is extremely delicious. The staff were friendly and smart, unlike before. There are many clean and relaxing hotels, but having a wonderful restaurant is a strength of the hotel.

    For my son's birthday＾＾

    I used it for the first time and was very satisfied! We had informed them of our child's birthday, so they decorated and everyone congratulated us, which made us very happy. Thank you. We enjoyed delicious meals in the room both in the morning and evening. They even prepared meals for the children, which made it very hearty, but it was really delicious! I often use Stays in Kyoto, so I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity.

    It's a lovely hotel.

    I stayed with breakfast and dinner included to celebrate my mother's birthday. The garden visible from the lobby was beautiful, and the room, which had a view of Nijo Castle, was spacious, clean, stylish, and very lovely. I had communicated via email in advance to arrange a surprise bouquet for my mother, and I was grateful for the very courteous service. From the welcome to the explanation of the stay, everyone we encountered, including the restaurant staff, was smiling and very pleasant, making our stay enjoyable. The food was very delicious and visually appealing, and I was able to give my mother a wonderful birthday present. Thank you very much to all the staff. I hope to see you again.

    Lovely hotel

    The location, as well as the rooms and meals, were wonderful. There were many guests from overseas, and everyone seemed satisfied. I would like to stay again.
