A Luxurious Day and Time
I always spend the summer in Hokkaido, and this time I visited Niseko again after a long time. Niseko seems to have changed quite a bit recently, and I chose this place because I wanted to see what it’s like now while also sensing an atmosphere somewhat like Karuizawa. The Hotel Room had a spacious layout that I really loved, and the Onsen was amazing—open 24 hours with free-flowing natural spring water. Dinner, one of the true highlights of traveling, was also outstanding. It was my first time having a chef prepare and serve each dish fresh right in front of me, and I truly enjoyed such a luxurious meal. The service was attentive down to the smallest details, and I was deeply impressed. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay here again.

A noisy dining environment that doesn’t feel like a luxury accommodation.
This Accommodation is not recommended at all for couples or adults who want a quiet stay. Based on the atmosphere presented on IKYU and similar sites, I made a Reservation expecting a calm environment where we could enjoy our meals and stay at a relaxed pace. In reality, it was very different from what we expected. At both dinner and breakfast, there were several families with small children, and the dining venue “Yukiai-tei” was extremely noisy. Although the seating is described as semi-private, there are no partitions above the walls between tables, so surrounding conversations and children’s voices echo throughout the room—there is no escape from the noise. During dinner, I asked a staff member if anything could be done because we wanted to enjoy our meal quietly. The only response was, “There are no other available seats; sorry.” No alternatives were offered. In addition, while the course took an unusually long time to be served, each dish was surprisingly small in portion size. We ended up eating for about two hours in a loud environment. At least on the day of my stay, “Yukiai-tei” was not an atmosphere where one could quietly enjoy cuisine or wine pairings; frankly speaking, it felt as noisy as a family restaurant. At this price point, many guests are paying not only for the food itself but also for an overall dining experience that includes quietness and service. Afterward I confirmed that up to two small children per adult can stay free of charge without meals or bedding. There is nothing wrong with welcoming families with children. However, if that is your policy, you should clearly present this Accommodation as family-friendly. Actively accepting small children while also marketing an image that leads guests to expect quiet adult time raises serious concerns. This is not about whether families or adults are better or worse. The issue is accepting both without sufficient consideration to ensure each can stay comfortably—and resolving it by forcing guests who want peace and quiet to simply endure it does not seem appropriate for a high-end Accommodation. Paying premium rates expecting tranquility, then having nowhere to go and no alternative even after raising concerns about noise—this is important information guests should know before making a Reservation. I will never stay here again. This Accommodation cannot be recommended for couples or adults who want a quiet stay.

We had a great time.
The Facility had a calm atmosphere, and time seemed to pass slowly, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy a blissful stay. The meals were also just the right portion for older guests and those who drink alcohol. We caused some trouble by mixing up the genders of the guests staying with us and accidentally pressing the emergency button in the restroom late at night, but you handled everything kindly and pleasantly. However, we stayed as a group of three in a Japanese-style room, and it would have been nice if even simple blackout curtains or other light-blocking options were available there.

The Facility is wonderful.
The Facility was wonderful. Niseko has a strong international vibe due to inbound tourism, but the Japanese-style atmosphere feels comfortable for Japanese guests. It was disappointing that the level of service varied depending on the staff member. The staff who assisted us at the bar after our meal were very kind and helpful.

We had a comfortable stay.
We were very satisfied with both the Onsen and the meals. During our previous stay, I mentioned in a review that it would be nice to have samue loungewear, and it was provided this time. The teppanyaki dinner was excellent. We would love to visit again. It’s always been cloudy or rainy, so next time we hope to see Mt. Yotei.

An extraordinary escape from the everyday—pure bliss.
A Room with a magnificent view of Mt. Yotei, and a bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water. We truly enjoyed an extraordinary escape. And the many dishes made with seasonal, Hokkaido-only ingredients were outstanding. At dinner, the wine pairing was also excellent. At breakfast, I had seconds of the scallop miso soup. Everything was genuinely delicious. What impressed us even more was the warm hospitality of everyone at this Accommodation. My wife fell while sightseeing and hurt her right hand, and we are deeply grateful for your thoughtful care. This was an unforgettable Accommodation that we would love to revisit in another season to relax again. Thank you very much for such a blissful stay.

Satisfied again!
Last year, my husband and I visited for the first time, and we were completely satisfied with both the Room and the baths. However, the weather was bad, so we couldn’t see Mt. Yotei, which should have been right in front of us. This year we came back for a retry, bringing our daughter along. This year was perfect! And even more than Mt. Yotei, we were delighted with the baths, the Room, and even the in-Room laundry (a real plus for families traveling for several days). The meals were also just right—gentle seasonal vegetable-focused dishes that suited us as an older couple, with an ideal portion size. The staff member who took care of us last year looked after us again this year. They carefully explained delicious local sake to us and even remembered what we chose last time, which made us very happy to chat again. Thank you very much. The chef also came by, and we could truly feel the thought put into each dish. We live in the Kanto area and still have many places in Japan—and overseas—we’d like to visit as a couple, but we hope to relax at Rakusuizan in Hokkaido at least once a year. This season is especially relaxing since there are hardly any inbound travelers. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

Thank you for your support.
I visited with almost no prior knowledge, and it exceeded my expectations in the best way. Dinner portions weren’t large, but the meal featured carefully selected local ingredients and was very satisfying. The building was constructed by Takenaka Corporation, and with wooden triple-glazed windows, it was easy to see why the rooms stay warm even in winter. Seeing a red fox in the garden and enjoying a sky full of stars at night were more than enough to melt away everyday fatigue. It’s quite far so I’m not sure when I can return, but I would definitely love to visit again.

Wisteria Maiden
The meals at this Accommodation were excellent, and all the staff were cheerful and kind. However, it was difficult to adjust the temperature of the free-flowing hot spring bath, and I didn’t notice the glass panel and hit my face hard, so I think it would be helpful to add a visible mark on the glass.

Celebration of Longevity
As the ski season was winding down, I was looking for an Accommodation in Niseko and chose Rakusui-san, which has only a small number of Rooms. It turned out to be the perfect choice—I was truly impressed by the staff’s hospitality. This is an ideal Accommodation for a quiet, stay-in retreat. Since I was traveling with my elderly mother, this was especially important to me, and I’m grateful to every staff member for their wonderful service. The entire property is spotless and beautifully maintained. The Room was very spacious and open, and the view of Mt. Yotei standing right in front of us was incredibly soothing. The bath is also large, with 100% free-flowing natural hot spring water; the quality of the water is excellent and warms you through. Open the window and it feels like an open-air bath—amazing! It seems there is also a Plan without meals, but I absolutely recommend choosing the Plan with both breakfast and dinner—the meals are carefully prepared and outstanding. If I had to mention one thing: when traveling with elderly guests, it may be best to request a Room closer to the lounge. We prioritized the bath materials and agreed to take the farthest Room, but since the corridor has a slight incline, going back and forth to the lounge seemed a bit challenging for an older person. Even so, considering everything offered here, it’s excellent value for money—Done that we will return. Thank you very much.

An Accommodation with Exceptional Hospitality and an Onsen
We stayed at an Onsen Accommodation in Niseko for our family’s first ski trip. It certainly wasn’t cheap, but even setting the price aside, we can honestly say it was a truly special experience. Niseko in winter is full of international visitors and can feel quite lively, but the moment you step into this Accommodation, it’s surprisingly calm. It felt completely removed from the bustle, making it a wonderfully comfortable place for our family to relax and spend time together. The Onsen was pleasantly warm rather than hot, which made it easy even for our child to enjoy and stay in for a long time. Warming up slowly after skiing and sharing that time together as a family became one of the most memorable parts of this trip. On clear days, Mt. Yotei looked stunning from the Accommodation, and that view alone made staying here feel worthwhile. Spending time watching the mountain change throughout the morning and evening helped us forget everyday life. The only disappointment was that the battery in the Room safe had run out, so we couldn’t use it. Even so, our overall satisfaction was very high, and it became an unforgettable stay for our family’s first ski trip.

Excellent!
Unfortunately, we couldn't see Mt. Yotei due to the rain, but everything was excellent, including thoughtful touches like providing larger yukatas. From the soothing scent to the hallway atmosphere, it might be the best in Hokkaido! Although the price is on the higher side, enjoying a private bath with a view or stargazing from the terrace made for a wonderful holiday. The drinks in the refrigerator were free, and of course, the meals were delicious. We also enjoyed cocktail time at the complimentary lounge. The Room was very spacious, clean, and impeccably maintained—truly outstanding! We would love to stay here again.

The dinner was absolutely delicious.
Both the Onsen and meals were very satisfying. I was impressed by the high-quality dishes served in smaller portions at just the right timing. I would love to visit again during the colder season. If I may make one suggestion, having samue available would have made it even better.

View Mount Yotei from the Room
After Typhoon No. 15 in Honshu, Niseko enjoyed beautiful weather with clear views of Mt. Yotei from anywhere. You could peacefully admire the slightly cloud-covered or moonlit Mt. Yotei over the grassy hills, undisturbed, with a can of beer in hand from the fridge. Pure satisfaction!

The Ultimate Private Open-Air Bath Experience
Recently, rooms with private open-air baths have become more common, but having a 24-hour natural hot spring flow is truly rare. The attention to detail in the materials used for the walls and floors reflects the owner's dedication. It was absolutely wonderful. The view of the courtyard from the bath was also stunning. Although located in the Niseko area, I believe this bath should be enjoyed by many Japanese guests as well. What impressed me even more was the thoughtful hospitality of the staff. I had an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable time. The only slight disappointment was with the food. While personal preferences vary, coming all the way to Hokkaido, I would prefer not to have Western cuisine or teppanyaki similar to what can be found in Tokyo. Instead, it would be delightful to enjoy simple yet delicious dishes that highlight local ingredients unique to Hokkaido.

I reserved a room with a view of Mt. Yotei on clear days, but unfortunately, it was rainy and I couldn't see it. The room had no steps, making it comfortable to stay in, and the nights were very quiet, allowing for a restful sleep. There was an onsen bath with natural hot spring water in the room, which felt wonderful at any time. As I wasn't feeling well, I had to cancel dinner and caused some inconvenience. Even though breakfast looked delicious, I couldn't eat much and felt sorry about that too. Despite this, the staff handled everything kindly and professionally for which I'm deeply grateful. I definitely plan to stay again in the near future! Having stayed at various hotels across the whole country, this accommodation is easily within my personal top five favorites. Thank you very much!

The Room and meals are excellent!
I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay for the first time. The Room was perfectly clean and very comfortable. I was impressed every time by the meals made with fresh local ingredients. While soaking in the Onsen with natural hot spring water, I enjoyed the ever-changing scenery of clouds moving across Mount Yotei. All the staff were pleasant, making it a truly relaxing trip.

A stylish accommodation with a beautiful view of Mount Yotei. The room was equipped with a washer-dryer, complete with laundry nets and detergent, which was very convenient. The onsen water felt unique compared to others I’ve experienced, leaving the skin feeling squeaky clean. It was different from the slippery texture of alkaline springs and quite enjoyable.

Thank you to all the staff.
The staff provided a casual and friendly explanation about the meals and drinks, making it easy to relax without feeling nervous about staying at a new accommodation. On the way to the accommodation, I twisted my foot, but they kindly prepared ice (even adding salt to prevent it from melting quickly), which helped me recover enough to walk normally by the next morning. Although I couldn't meet or personally thank the staff who prepared everything for me, I truly appreciate their help. Thank you so much. I will definitely visit again!

Hospitality with attentive service
This is a private accommodation. While it may not feel sophisticated, the hospitality was very warm and welcoming. The room is very functional, with a relaxing atmosphere and the warmth of wood. Although there is no large public bath, the bathroom in the room is spacious. However, one disappointing aspect was that for three people staying in a Japanese-style room, the futons provided were only 5–6 cm thick, making it feel like sleeping directly on the tatami mats. I had hoped to refresh my body during my stay but could not sleep at all due to this issue. It was my first time sleeping on such thin bedding. While I think this accommodation has a unique charm and attention to detail, I found the bedding situation quite unfortunate.

The number of meal options was limited.
Overall, it is a good accommodation. However, having stayed at various accommodations, I found the number of dishes to be too few, with even bread and butter listed on the menu. I suggest reducing the portions of octopus and duck by half and adding two more dishes. Considering the price range of this luxury accommodation, I believe a higher level of satisfaction with meals is necessary.

Onsen and breakfast were excellent. Dinner was disappointing.
I chose this accommodation for its onsen water quality. The water, rich in metasilicic acid, was exceptional. While the view from the onsen was nice, the fence design slightly obstructed the scenery. From the perspective of someone soaking in the water, fewer horizontal lines on the fence would improve visibility. Regarding the room, while it had a great interior design, I felt that more thought could be given to furniture arrangement. As for meals, breakfast was particularly delicious. However, dinner was disappointing. The menu seemed sparse at first glance—starting with an appetizer that ended in just two bites and dishes with unappetizing presentation (such as how octopus was served). It would have been nice to see vegetable dishes that highlighted local produce like sweet cabbage, carrots, yacon root, and sweet potatoes from snowy regions. Beyond well-known 540 potatoes, there are many other excellent vegetables available here. A ryokan becomes a destination itself during travels; dining there is part of what guests look forward to most and raises expectations significantly. With Japanese guests returning soon for travel seasons ahead—especially considering frequent reviews mentioning dinner—I hope improvements can be made. Having experienced various accommodations of this class before inevitably leads one to compare them; however my experience at Zaborin remains truly unique and exceptional. Perhaps due to lower occupancy levels during my stay—it allowed me peaceful moments throughout my visit without disturbance or noise distractions! Apologies if this comment turned lengthy—but rest assured—I’d love revisiting your ryokan again someday!

A family-friendly accommodation.
The accommodation was exceptionally clean and pleasant. We were fortunate with the weather, and Mount Yotei was beautifully visible throughout, offering an amazing view. We visited with our one-year-old child, and the thoughtful considerations provided were incredibly helpful. This is definitely an accommodation we would love to visit again.

It was wonderful!!
I requested a shuttle service. The drivers were very kind, and I felt I could understand the quality of the property! I was impressed by the stunning view of Mt. It is said that over 90% of the guests are foreigners.
During dinner, staff were supposed to be waiting outside, but there were none when we arrived. In fact, they seemed a bit surprised when we showed up on time. They hurriedly prepared a table for us, and after a while, brought the menu. I thought, "Isn't the meal already decided?" We were seated in a large hall-like area, and the aroma of sukiyaki filled the air as others were enjoying it, so we opted for sukiyaki as well. Even after waiting for 20 minutes, no appetizers were served. A senior staff member, seemingly concerned, came to explain, "Over 90%, possibly 99% of our guests are inbound foreigners, so we have them choose from the menu like this." Their sincere attitude was reassuring, but the sukiyaki served was seasoned with a lot of beef fat and sugar, catering to Southeast Asian tastes. I had heartburn that lasted until the next day. The next morning, I was surprised by the simple breakfast at a Hotel in Hokkaido. They apologetically added simmered pork upon request, but I couldn't eat due to heartburn. The salmon roe was too fishy for me to eat. The porridge was not warm and had a strange stickiness, making me wonder when it was made. The Room facilities were excellent. The washing machine was helpful, and the underfloor heating on the solid wood floor was something I had always admired. I would like to stay again with a rental car and without meals. However, other guests were foreigners, and during meals, they spoke loudly in the hallway, making it difficult to expect a peaceful sleep. The front desk staff were very attentive to overseas guests, but when we asked for Shuttle Service to our next Hotel, which was an on-gelände Hotel in Hanazono, they told us to take a bus from the Hirafu Welcome Center. Upon further investigation, we found that we couldn't take that bus with our suitcases. So, we were taken to the station and moved to the next Hotel by taxi. Seeing them kneel and print out various information for foreign guests, it might not be a Hotel catering to Japanese guests. It's a Hotel by Shin Nihonkai Ferry, but there are many locally-owned concept Hotels in Hokkaido. In Niseko, I previously stayed at a Ryokan aiming for luxury with unique services, which was enjoyable, so I recommend trying various options.

A flawless Stays experience
I had been interested in this Property since it first opened, but at the time, the price was quite high, so I couldn't stay there. This time, I found a period with a reasonable price and quickly made a Reservation. In conclusion, as the title suggests, it is a perfect Property with no complaints. The check-in service, lounge service, meals, environment, and especially the Room with a natural hot spring bath (I could even swim a little, haha) were all perfect, leaving no room for complaints. At night, the starry sky was beautiful... During the day, I took a short trip to the nearby ranch... There was also a gym in the Facility, so I could work up a light sweat.
