I was able to relax ...

I was able to relax and enjoy a calm atmosphere. I was satisfied with the breakfast, and the bread was delicious; I could enjoy my meal in a peaceful setting. I would like to stay here again.

    Stay in a department store!

Staying in a department store was a childhood dream come true. The well-preserved historic elements and the beautifully renovated areas were in harmony, with interiors that evoked shopping and bespoke tailoring. The washing machine and microwave had instructions only online, which was a bit hard to understand and left me slightly confused, but it was refreshing to try overseas-made appliances I had never used before. My Room had only one window and it did not open, so I felt a little uneasy when thinking about emergencies. I understand it may be difficult for safety reasons, but I wish the window could open even just a little. The staff were kind and attentive. With many international staff and guests along with the retro interior, it felt like staying in a Hotel from an old movie. The price is reasonable as well, so I would like to stay again.

    A Valuable Stay

This is a wonderful Hotel, combining comfortable Rooms with the unique value of being housed in a former department store building.

The Hotel was excellent! IKYU Restaurant was terrible.

The Hotel is outstanding. Its exterior, interior, spaciousness, and overall atmosphere far exceed the photos. In my case, I made a dinner Reservation through IKYU Restaurant, but an unbelievable situation occurred: the IKYU Restaurant site canceled my Reservation without my consent. (When I contacted their customer center, they told me that the site can cancel a Reserver’s booking without prior notice and that they will not call the registered phone number even in such cases.) However, the manager responded with great care and support, and ironically this unexpected incident made our trip even more enjoyable.

Ruined by the final response. So disappointing.

The Room had high ceilings and felt much more spacious than in the photos. It was thoroughly cleaned, new, and very beautiful. By registering as a member, I was able to use early check-in and late check-out, which allowed me to relax. I was thinking, “I’ll stay here again next time,” but 45 minutes before checkout, the front desk called the Room phone in an angry tone and told me to check out quickly. (I had confirmed by phone in advance and also informed them at arrival that my checkout time was 12:00.) I asked them to confirm it, but there was no apology and they were about to hang up. When I said, “Could you please confirm it now?” after a short pause they said “We’re sorry” in a harsh tone, sounding displeased, and ended the call. At such a wonderful Hotel, I was shocked by the attitude and felt very sad. After that, a different person was at the front desk; nothing else happened. I don’t know whether information wasn’t shared or if it was an individual issue. I think improvement is needed. Lastly, the Hotel itself was lovely and I had a very relaxing stay. There is also an attached museum/archive facility, which was interesting as well!

    The Facility itself is good...

The Facility itself, housed in a historic building, was nice. However, there were several issues with the approach to the front desk. You cannot enter from the nearest entrance from either Kintetsu or the subway; you can only enter from the farthest one. More than that, the entire area has an atmosphere like an Asian downtown neighborhood (including the people), which takes away from the feeling that you are about to stay at a proper Hotel. Perhaps it was originally a serviced apartment, as there was no sense of welcoming Hotel guests, and there were no greetings such as “Welcome” or “Welcome back.” For long-term stays, it may be suitable since it is equipped with a microwave.

It was a very beautiful Hotel!

The entrance, hallway, and each door were very clean and uplifting. The Room was also clean, spacious, and very satisfying! There was a microwave and cutlery in the Room, as well as an ice machine and water server just outside the Room—absolutely perfect. I will use it again!

    Unfortunately.

The hotels booked through IKYU.com are usually reliable, so I had high expectations this time as well. First of all, there is no parking available. When I called to inquire, they half-heartedly said there is none and no partnerships either. During check-in, there was no explanation on how to use the elevator, which caused some confusion. Additionally, amenities for children were not provided. Although there is a play area for kids, it was disappointing that such amenities were missing. Of course, I should have checked these details in advance myself. While such issues are rare with other accommodations I've stayed at before, I'll make sure to confirm these points more carefully in the future.

    A rebranded Hotel from Takashimaya

Stayed for one night on a business trip. A repeat visit. This hotel is a converted building that was originally a Takashimaya, located between Nihonbashi and Ebisucho. The overall atmosphere of the building retains the classic charm of its original structure and is beautifully designed. The rooms are all newly renovated, making them comfortable, though the bathroom being a 3-piece unit is slightly disappointing—still fine for solo use. Compared to hotels around Shinsaibashi or Namba, this hotel feels reasonably priced given its quality and cost balance, so I occasionally choose to stay here. This area has changed significantly compared to 10–20 years ago; it’s now bustling with many foreign tourists even at night, creating a lively atmosphere.

    Tourism in Osaka Minami

I stayed for one night during my sightseeing trip in Osaka Minami. I didn’t have high expectations, but to sum it up in one word: amazing. As mentioned in the reviews, most of the guests are inbound travelers, but the hotel staff were highly professional and provided excellent service. The historical building and facilities were impressive—both grand and beautifully renovated. The location is very convenient for sightseeing in Minami, as it’s within walking distance to Nankai Namba Station, Dotonbori, and even Tsutenkaku Tower. The Takashimaya Museum located within the same building is also a great way to learn about history and comes highly recommended. I heard that there’s a monthly collaboration tour between the hotel and Takashimaya showcasing the building's history—it sounds fascinating! I believe this hotel will become very popular as its recognition grows. Personally, I’ll be keeping an eye on hotels from the Citadines group. I’ll definitely stay here again—thank you!

    Stylish Hotel

The Hotel lobby and Room interiors are very stylish. It is a recommended Hotel for girls' trips. The Room is equipped with a microwave, plates, knives, and forks, making it convenient to heat meals bought from the convenience store in your own Room. Additionally, there is a convenience store nearby. It takes about 12 minutes on foot from Namba Station; while not very close to the station, it is a recommended Hotel for sightseeing in Dotonbori.

    Drinking in the lounge

This hotel features a lounge where guests can relax and enjoy tea or other beverages. It is equipped with a large refrigerator and tableware, allowing you to enjoy purchased groceries. In previous years, the lounge was usually quiet with few people, but this year it seemed noticeably busier. One concern was that while loud conversations are generally more common among foreign visitors than Japanese guests—particularly among Asian visitors—this year there were some individuals drinking alcohol and speaking loudly in the lounge, which made it difficult to relax. We kindly ask that intoxicated individuals refrain from using the lounge.

    Takashimaya Annex

I stayed at a Hotel in Namba for the first time. The exterior is very luxurious as it is part of the Takashimaya Annex. The interior is also beautiful. The Room was very spacious, allowing me to relax comfortably. It’s a perfect Hotel that I would love to stay at again!

    Ideal for long-term stays.

This Hotel, renovated from an Important Cultural Property, caught my attention. While preserving its original charm and atmosphere, the interior has been beautifully redesigned, creating a very pleasant ambiance. The amenities were sufficient, and having a microwave in the Room allowed us to enjoy food purchased from the nearby Kuromon Market in our Room. The Residence Lounge was well-equipped and seemed ideal for large families or group trips. However, I was concerned about the management of items in the refrigerator. Although it might be difficult to immediately dispose of unclaimed food items, there were expired products from over a month ago, indicating insufficient management. As for the bathroom setup with toilet, sink, and bathtub all in one space—I felt that separate facilities would have been more convenient.

    Check-in available from 12:00 PM.

Arrived at the Hotel at 12:00. Initially planned to leave my luggage at the front desk before heading to the concert, but I was able to check in from 12:00 by registering online. It was very convenient as I could unpack, relax for a bit, and then head out. There is a free coffee machine and an ice maker on the 6th floor, along with a comfortable sofa space where you can relax outside your Room. Although I didn’t use it this time, there was a microwave in the Room, which would be very handy for solo travelers.

    Only international guests are accepted.

I didn't encounter any Japanese people. All signs in the Hotel are in English, and the staff also initially speak to you in English. I was worried it might be noisy, but once inside the Room, it was very quiet and relaxing. Amenities are minimal. The hairdryer is extremely loud, which I hope can be improved.

    I had a comfortable stay.

This time, I visited to enjoy Osaka's gourmet cuisine. Most of the guests were foreigners, and the front desk staff were also foreigners, but they were very friendly, courteous, and provided polite service. Next time, I would like to enjoy the Hotel's gourmet offerings as well. Thank you very much.

The building is impressive, but the Facility is disappointing.

Stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room. The interior and decor were lovely. However, there was only one small box of tissues, and it would have been better to have them in three locations: bedside, desk, and washroom area. For a Deluxe Twin Room, the TV screen was small, and despite being a new Hotel, the TV was not internet-connected (no Wi-Fi), so YouTube or Netflix could not be accessed, nor could smartphone mirroring be used—this was disappointing. The room's indirect lighting was too bright with no dimming option available. While the building itself is impressive, the Facility felt somewhat cheap. The air conditioning did not work efficiently. Periodically, there was a loud rumbling noise throughout the room that sounded like an earthquake tremor. Additionally, the height of the sofa table was too high for comfort.

    Most of the guests a...

Most of the guests and staff are foreigners. When I called the front desk from the room, it was in English. The smell of the room and hallway reminded me of a foreign hotel I hadn't visited in a long time, which was nostalgic. The room was comfortable, but the window glass seemed thin, and the noise of motorcycles racing late at night was so loud that I couldn't sleep. If you're concerned, it's better to avoid rooms facing the street.

    Very satisfied digital

It was a bit far from the station, but I was very satisfied with the Hotel. The paintings and other decorations inside the Hotel were very stylish, and the Room was also very clean. Thank you very much.
