    I stayed for one nig...

    I stayed for one night with my mother. It was my fault for not checking, but I found out that the large public bath requires swimwear, so we used the bath in our room. I wish this information was more clearly stated on the homepage or reservation site. Also, there was dust on the phone in the room, which made me wonder if the cleaning was thorough. Overall, there were many overseas guests and staff, and I think it's suitable for young guests, but the explanations were not very clear, so it might not be suitable for bringing older people.

    It was good.

    The lack of a large public bath was a downside for me. There is a spa with a sauna where men and women can wear swimsuits, but I wanted to relax in a large public bath rather than just the Room's Onsen.

    Stays for guests from overseas

    We used the Property for a girls' trip with three people. There is a free shuttle bus from Odawara, so we felt secure about the journey. The Onsen is in the Room's open-air bath, and there is no large public bath. The open-air bath is large and deep, allowing us to fully enjoy the Onsen. However, there is no hand bucket provided, only a small bucket for pouring water, so you cannot wash your face or body at the washing area near the bathtub. It seems foreign guests wash their bodies in the bathtub, and they might use the nearby shower booth, but since there is a bath, Japanese people might want to wash at the washing area... The towels are thick, overseas-style ones, so they are not suitable for use in the bathroom. Although we were three people, there was only one teabag each of green tea and black tea. It was disappointing, although we could have called the front desk for a refill. When checking in, if you wait in a Japanese manner, you will never be called. You need to assert yourself like in foreign countries, so let's do our best. The initial greeting was in English. I thought it was a Property for overseas guests who are beginners in Japan. The Plan included dinner and breakfast, and the meat and fish grilled with firewood were particularly delicious. I thought it was worth trying.

    The best staff

    At check-in, I mentioned to the front desk staff that I haven't been able to travel abroad for a while, and asked if the breakfast bacon would be crispy, as I wanted crispy bacon but thought it might be impossible. They kindly grilled the bacon for breakfast. Also, I requested that the meat be cut into smaller pieces because my husband is undergoing dental treatment (due to his age), and they also cut the fish and French bread into easy-to-eat sizes, which was impressive. If possible, it would be great if the bed height were lower or if there were some kind of partition on the side of the bed.

    A hotel with a wonderful sense of style, featuring hot springs in every room.

    Stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included. It was a hotel with a very lovely sense of style. The hotel featured parquetry-inspired interiors throughout, and the decor evoked a public bathhouse feel. The playful design was nice. I really enjoyed the bathing zone and the meals! However, I think I prefer the herb buffet like at Indigo Inuyama. It seems Hakone used to have the same style, and I personally found that format more convenient as it required less decision-making. The staff always responded with a smile. However, when I asked at check-in if I could change to a double room, I was told it would be possible for an additional fee. I didn't mind the extra charge, but later I found online that there was a Hollywood twin type room available. It didn't seem fully booked, so I would have appreciated if they had suggested that option first. The bath in the room was pleasant, and I ended up using it multiple times. Overall, I was very satisfied, but there was one concern. It was the manners of inbound guests. I understand they might not be familiar with Japanese culture, but there were people making loud video calls in the restaurant and walking around with their babies to soothe them. In the bathing zone, towels were left in the bathroom. I would have appreciated it if the staff could have been a bit more attentive to these issues. This aspect caught my attention, and although the hotel is lovely, I'm a bit hesitant to revisit.

    Couple's trip

    This was my first trip to Hakone. The room had a great atmosphere, and having an open-air bath was truly amazing. The staff's service was also excellent. For dinner, we ordered à la carte, and both the presentation and taste were very delicious. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes, and the taste was also very satisfying for both my spouse and me. I definitely plan to stay here again on my next trip to Hakone.
