    An Unfortunate Incident

    The bath was unavailable.

It couldn’t be helped that the men’s bath was unavailable due to a malfunction, but I would have liked to be informed in advance by email or similar. Being told suddenly at the front desk left me with no way to respond. The Room smelled of tobacco, but when I requested a change, they kindly accommodated me. When I asked whether there was a Diamond Member–only Room upgrade benefit, I was told that late check-out and early check-in were available, but there was no upgrade benefit. (I asked another staff member as well and was told they would check and explain at checkout, but there was no explanation.)

Overall, I thought it was good, but the hair dryer was really difficult to use. I think you should replace it. That alone made my impression significantly worse.

    Convenient and comfortable

Conveniently located near the station with a convenience store nearby. It was a pity that the twin Room we used didn’t have a coffee maker, but we were able to get drip coffee packs at the front desk, and there was a free drink corner in the lobby (may be temporarily unavailable depending on the time). Complimentary women’s skincare items were also available upon request, and they were provided at the hot bath Facility as well. The Room was clean, and there was no step up into the bathroom, which made it stress-free. You can check how crowded the hot bath Facility is on the TV, so we checked before going. It was quiet at night, which was nice.

    This is my second stay.

The Room was spacious, clean, and overall we were satisfied. However, there were some areas of red mold on the bathroom floor that had not been fully cleaned. When removing hair, we also checked the drain and it seemed it had not been thoroughly cleaned either. The stains looked like they would come off with a quick wipe using a mold cleaner, so we would appreciate improvement in this area. We could also see debris through gaps around the sink drain, and would like that addressed as well. Sorry for being so particular. Other than that, we were very satisfied, and the coffee service was a nice touch. This is a Hotel we would like to use again next time!

    Spacious for the price

Staying in Fukuoka during the peak of inbound tourism seemed challenging, but being able to stay in this spacious accommodation at this price is truly appreciated. I look forward to another opportunity to stay here. Thank you!

    Had a comfortable stay!

I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay on my first visit to Hakata. As someone who loves large public baths, I was initially concerned due to the many international guests, but I felt reassured as I could check the congestion status, including the breakfast venue, on a screen. The Room had a great view, was spacious, and very functional. Although I noticed some dust on the bathroom ventilation fan and felt that ventilation could be improved, the large public bath was clean and spacious, which was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of menu options that kept it enjoyable even during a Multiple Night Stay. The seating area allowed for a relaxed experience as well. This is definitely a Hotel I would like to use again in the future. Thank you!

    The public bath is excellent.

Located very close to Watanabe-dori Station, with Haruyoshi and Tenjin within walking distance, making it a convenient location. The property features a large public bath, which was highly enjoyable.

Convenient and clean, but cleaning could be improved.

Located in the center of Fukuoka City, this convenient Hotel offers clean Facilities. However, the cleaning standards as a Hotel could be improved. Dust remains on the edges of the room carpets, and there is black mold left on the handrails in the bathroom. Additionally, dust has accumulated at lower areas inside the elevator. It would be better if management paid more attention to these detailed cleaning aspects.

    Room amenities and equipment

The upgraded 13th-floor wide double bed Room was more than spacious enough, but the bathroom was small, amenities were placed on a distant desk, there was only one chair, the clothing hooks were located deep inside, and the shoehorn was also stored there. This made it very inconvenient as I had to go all the way to retrieve it every time I put on my shoes. Perhaps it's designed for those who use suitcases that require a lot of floor space?

I tried "morning ramen" for the first time, and it was very delicious. The lanterns created a charming atmosphere reminiscent of a food stall. However, compared to other hotels in the same chain, the public bath was slightly smaller, and there were fewer lockers, which made it fill up quickly—a bit surprising... Other than that, everything was great overall. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Slightly inconvenient location

The Hotel was very clean overall, and the Facility was well-maintained. The service of enjoying a large public bath in the city was excellent. Nearby, there were supermarkets and convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart), making it very convenient for purchasing late-night snacks, sweets, and drinks. Overall, it had a homely atmosphere. However, to reach central Tenjin City, Hakata Canal City, Nakasu, or Yakuin areas required at least one subway stop of travel. This made access to famous gourmet spots and shopping slightly inconvenient, which I think is its biggest drawback. The price was reasonable and affordable.

It was a very enjoyable trip.

We stayed for 5 days as a family of three during the Obon holiday. The location is excellent, just steps away from Watanabe-dori Station and within walking distance to the Tenjin area, making it very convenient. The Room was clean and we enjoyed a quiet stay. Having smoking rooms on each floor is also a great point for smokers. As informed by the front desk in advance, the public bath after 8 PM was extremely crowded, with long lines due to entry restrictions. Therefore, we decided to use it in the morning instead of after returning from sightseeing. The sauna and cold bath were well-equipped and comfortable to use. We were completely satisfied with our stay in terms of room cleanliness, staff service, and location!

I might not stay here again.

I have used this Hotel multiple times. In recent years, due to the increase in international guests, I noticed some guests not following proper etiquette in the bath, such as skipping rinsing before entering or even swimming in the bath during my last visit. I would prefer not to stay with guests who lack manners, especially when paying money for it. The Room amenities did not include lotion, which disappointed my family. At this price point, there are likely many other Hotels nearby that offer a more relaxing experience with better amenities included.

Due to heavy rain, the location of the affiliated parking lot was explained indifferently. Some staff at the front desk seemed unaccommodating, which made me like Hotel Monterey less in just one day, despite previously loving it.

    A Wonderful Stay

The Room amenities and shared Facility were excellent. Having access to the spa was also appreciated. The only downside was that access to the front desk floor is limited to elevator use, which is understandable due to the building's structure.

    Poor bathroom cleanliness

The bathroom floor was slippery, which was very unpleasant. While I appreciated being promptly moved to another Room, it was extremely disappointing that there were no words of apology even at checkout. It is hard to consider this a 4-star Hotel. I will never stay here again.

    Close to the station

High-floor Superior Room with DHC cleansing, face wash, lotion, and emulsion provided—no need to bring your own. Bathrobes are also available. The bathtub is spacious, and the Mirable shower was very pleasant. The 3rd-floor public bath is small; I only used it once as I didn’t use the sauna. The view from the room was great, and it's within a 10-minute walk to Tenjin and Nakasu. At night, I visited the Tenjin food stalls. The lounge offered welcome coffee and tea; having juice would have been nice too.

I couldn't sleep because the neighbors were noisy.

The lobby was crowded with international tourists, particularly travelers from Asia, who seemed to be relaxing there for extended periods. Although the bathhouse appeared less busy based on the congestion status, the locker area was chaotic upon arrival. It would be appreciated if more consideration could be given by spacing out locker assignments to avoid crowding, as changing clothes became difficult with adjacent lockers being used simultaneously. Exhausted, I went to bed around 10:30 PM. However, starting at around 11 PM and continuing past midnight, loud banging noises—like something hitting the wall—persisted from next door. The noise was so disruptive that it woke me up multiple times and even made me notice footsteps pacing back and forth. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get proper rest and returned home sleep-deprived.

    Disappointing...

I had high expectations due to the high-class reputation and reasonable price, but it was a disappointing experience. Room - I stayed in a triple room, which was fine for sleeping only, but there was no desk or space to place small items. Service - The front desk staff provided standard manual-like service without much warmth. At breakfast, I was seated at a dirty table and had to request changes. When I went to get food, many items were unavailable, and I had to ask for them to be brought out. On top of that stress, an older male staff member glared at me. Although I felt like losing my temper, I held back. Bath - Since I have tattoos, I didn’t use the public bath myself; however, according to my family members who used the women’s bath: it felt chaotic like a zoo with many foreign guests present. Used towels were left in washbasins; someone dried themselves using a hairdryer between their legs; hair was scattered on the floor; locker spaces were too cramped; slippers marked with numbered clips were taken by others without permission—there seemed to be nothing but complaints. This has been one of the most disappointing experiences ever. Since you are charging money for your services as a Hotel, you should function properly as one. I have no intention of ever staying here again...

It was a very comfortable Room.

Welcome drinks are available near the front desk, and the Room was clean, spacious, and convenient with plenty of outlets for charging devices. The area between the elevator and the Room was heavily air-conditioned, which felt a bit chilly, but it might be just right for the upcoming season.

A wonderful hotel with no complaints. Staying here is always comfortable and highly satisfying. Although the accommodation price has increased, making it less accessible than before, it is still worth the cost. The public bath is usually not crowded if you choose the right time. There seems to be a high percentage of international guests—about 80% might be from overseas. It’s about a 15-minute walk from Tenjin and very close to Watanabe-dori Station. The Saga beef shabu-shabu for breakfast is excellent! I couldn’t resist going back for seconds multiple times. It seems like only Japanese people eat shabu-shabu in the morning, so it wasn’t crowded, and I could enjoy plenty of it. This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but I saw someone wearing Monterey pajamas and slippers entering a convenience store near Watanabe-dori. Perhaps stricter enforcement of rules about not wearing pajamas beyond the elevator hall would be helpful? At the parking lot exit on the road near Sakura Cross Hospital, large buses suddenly come out from Monterey onto the sidewalk—it can be quite scary when walking there. In the mornings at least, how about stationing a security guard on that side of the road?
