The perfect destination.
In conclusion, this is definitely a place I would like to return to. While there are some shortcomings, the excellent staff service more than made up for them. **Disadvantages:** 1. No shower space in the room 2. Room concept changed from "Irori" (at booking) to "Traditional Tea" (at stay) 3. Traditional tea-making equipment was broken and unusable 4. No TV in the room - Issue 1 was mitigated by the well-maintained large bath, though it may not suit everyone’s preferences. - Issues 2 and 3 were unfortunate; however, the staff's kindness and dedication helped resolve these concerns without leaving a negative impression. - For issue 4, you can request a small TV at the front desk along with an HDMI cable for phone connectivity. **Advantages:** 1. Complimentary draft beer and dried snacks provided 2. High-quality food (dinner highly recommended) 3. Thoughtful service (e.g., rain boot rentals for walking around)

A Relaxing Resort in the National Park
When visiting Karuizawa, I usually stop at the outlet near the station, but this time I headed towards the Old Karuizawa area from the North Exit for the first time. Ancient Hotel Asama provided exceptional service from my rushed check-in to check-out without a single unpleasant expression. They even fulfilled special requests like room service and dinner bread baskets that weren’t on their regular menu as if by magic. Their dedication to ensuring guests have a relaxing stay is truly evident, and it’s easy to see why they receive such high praise. Meals are my top priority when choosing accommodation, and not only were they delicious, but also creatively designed with a sense of fun and excitement. It was an extraordinary dining experience—let me emphasize again how amazing the food was! It’s unfortunate I couldn’t spend more time there, but I’ll definitely visit again in warmer seasons. Highly recommended accommodation!

Completely Satisfied (with Children)
Thank you for warmly accepting the likes and dislikes of our children. The cooking, especially the preparation of vegetables for dinner, was excellent. The breakfast bread, with three varieties, was freshly baked and fragrant. The staff interacted with us at a comfortable distance and timing, allowing us to relax.

Heartwarming Stays
It was a solo trip for 3 days and 2 nights. I finally had the chance to visit the Stays I had always wanted to go to. It was truly a heartwarming 3 days. The meals and baths were, of course, wonderful, but even more so, the warmth and consideration of the staff always healed me, making everything during my stay, including the meals and baths, many times warmer and filled with happiness. I believe this is a Stays where solo travelers, families, and couples can all feel warmth. Meeting Anshento (Anshento) became the first reward of 2025. I will visit again.

Winter in Karuizawa
I stayed with my daughter. This Stays, where you can enjoy the onsen in winter Karuizawa, was truly a healing space. Due to the high altitude, the snow lightly accumulates, and soaking in the open-air bath in the clear air offers a special winter luxury. The meals were also very delicious, utilizing local seasonal ingredients, and each dish was a continuous delight both in appearance and taste. The vegetables, in particular, were delicious. Additionally, I am always impressed by the hospitality of the staff. Everyone was kind and courteous, allowing us to spend a truly relaxing time. Furthermore, at night, you can enjoy a sky full of stars, and there is a telescope available for stargazing with explanations. I felt that a property where you can view such beautiful stars is precious. There is also a waterfall nearby, and a walk in nature is very pleasant. I highly recommend this property, which combines the charm of onsen, meals, hospitality, and nature, to many people.

The fireplace is excellent.
I was able to stay in a room with a fireplace during this snowy season. Everything was perfect! The tranquility within the national park, the beautiful starry sky, the delicious food, the pleasant Onsen, and above all, the staff treated us very well and we were healed. I will visit again.

I would like to stay again.
From the moment we arrived at the Hotel, we felt "glad we came." The staff provided excellent service. The meals were delicious and just the right amount, and the Onsen was at a comfortable temperature. Our whole family wants to stay again.

Recommended for those who want to spend a quiet time.
I stayed with the purpose of a clear from the busyness of daily work. I visited to spend a quiet night immersed in reading at a property without a TV nestled in the forest. Before check-in, I enjoyed the tranquility of the forest on a trail walk from the hotel, spent time alone in the large bath, and was very satisfied with services like beer and mineral water available anytime. I also relaxed by borrowing various CDs and comics from the library to enjoy in my room. However, I came understanding that this is a place for those who want to spend time quietly, but during dinner, there was a family with children making terrible noises in the dining room. I tried to endure it, but it escalated, causing a headache, and I couldn't taste the meal. Thanks to the staff who responded and moved the family, I could enjoy my meal from the third course, but I wish they had acted sooner. The noises were occasionally heard in the hallway, so I think it was a nuisance to other guests as well. I don't think it's necessary to prohibit children from staying, but since the dining room has high ceilings and echoes, it might be better for families with children to have meals in their rooms. On the check-in day, it was raining coldly, and my mini boots got a bit wet, but they were warmed up fluffy by check-out, which impressed me. Thank you. It's one of the hotels I definitely want to stay at again.

A Time of Serenity
Second visit. A solo trip. Unfortunately, it was raining, but the autumn leaves in misty Karuizawa were also exquisite. From check-in to check-out, I spent my time reading, bathing, and sleeping. This Hotel is perfect for such a stay. The Room is warm, so it's nice to enjoy a warm coffee and read on the chilly balcony for a short time. It feels like having a villa in Karuizawa. I would like to visit again.

Healing Stays
This was my first time using the property, and it was a very relaxing stay surrounded by rich nature. You can see the autumn leaves from the room and the open-air bath, and hear the chirping of small birds in the open-air bath. The bath was spacious enough, almost like a private bath, allowing for a leisurely soak. It was a very warming onsen. Dinner was Japanese cuisine with a slight Western touch, but it was just the right amount and everything was delicious. Especially, the roast beef was exquisite. They listened to various requests, allowing us to have a comfortable time.
