    Where are you looking?

As a Tokyo native, I don’t often have the chance to stay at a Hotel, but this was an Accommodation I can truly recommend. After checking in, I went out right away, and I was impressed by how they confirmed the timing before providing turndown service and replenished the water. The in-room breakfast was especially outstanding, with clear explanations for each dish. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful—and the generous final serving of rice was so delightfully abundant it made me laugh. It completely erased the lingering sense of “not quite enough” that I’ve often felt with kaiseki cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone who feels the same way. In any case, you’ll want at least two room keys!

    Overall, it was great!

Just when we thought summer was over, it turned into a scorching hot day with strong sunshine. We arrived by car, and the staff’s warm welcome was wonderful! Since we got there earlier than check-in time, we completed the procedures and enjoyed tea time in the lounge. With the great location and bright sun, it gently reminded me of Hawaii. It was an elegant and very relaxing time. The Room was kept extremely clean, and the bathroom was great as well! Soaking in the tub while watching TV helped me truly unwind. In the evening, there was towel replacement and light cleaning service, which made our stay comfortable afterward too. I personally really appreciated this thoughtful touch. For dinner, we chose Japanese cuisine at the Hotel. The manager’s hospitality was excellent, conversation flowed naturally, and it became a delicious and enjoyable evening. The recommended sake was a label I’d never tried before, and I savored it slowly with the meal. If I had to mention one thing, I would have liked to try other sake as well—so I wished the course had been a bit more filling or included a few more dishes. That said, overall I have no complaints at all. I would love to enjoy Japanese cuisine made with local ingredients again. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of both Japanese and Western options, so I enjoyed trying many things. The freshly made omelet was fluffy. Although there wasn’t an outside view from our seat, the dining area had high ceilings that felt open and airy. Because of that openness, however, one infant’s crying continued for quite a long time and concerned me. I understand it can’t be helped—but everyone in that room is paying accordingly for their meal as well... It may be difficult to address, but I hope for some improvement measures. Aside from that one minor complaint after searching for something to mention at all—it was an almost perfect stay that truly lifted my spirits! We’ll be back!

All the staff were very pleasant. Check-in, as others have mentioned, took a bit of waiting, which was a little disappointing. Breakfast had the atmosphere of a Hotel banquet hall, and the white rice was running low and had dried out, but everything else was delicious. Compared with Hotels in Tokyo, it offers great value for money, which I really appreciate. Since there aren’t many Hotels with a large public bath, I’d like to stay again. The Room has a stylish design and is very lovely.

    The Ultimate Luxury

Even though it’s close to Yokohama Station, the Room was spacious and made for an excellent stay. The size and convenience of the washroom and bathroom were especially outstanding! This is my No. 1 Hotel I want to stay at again.

    Won’t disappoint

Service and meals that never disappoint, as always. The view is wonderful. I’d like to stay again before the end of this year. Thank you, as always, for the outstanding service.

    A!!

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

Although we arrived in heavy rain, everything was perfect—the Hotel Facility, the staff’s service, and the meals—so we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, making the most of carefully selected ingredients. Since we had a private dining room, we could take our time and enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The Room was very clean and spacious, and there were Hotel macadamia chocolates waiting for us, which we enjoyed right away. Above all, the staff were truly wonderful. The restaurant staff kindly explained even the origins of the ingredients in detail, and I was surprised when they made rice balls from the leftover seasonal mixed rice. We enjoyed them as a tasty late-night snack. Even while walking down the hallway, they spoke to us in a friendly way—chatting about The Kahala Hotel in Hawaii—and they took photos of us in front of large beautiful flowers, bringing back memories of Hawaii. The younger staff members were also very kind; when I didn’t know how to use the coffee maker, they came to our Room and patiently showed me how. The front desk team and even the person who came for bed-making also chatted with us pleasantly. Everyone had such lovely smiles. The only disappointing point was that although the bathtub was spacious with impressive marble, it was slippery at the bottom and I slipped. It may not be an issue for younger guests, but it would be helpful if you could provide non-slip rubber mats for elderly guests. It was a wonderful Hotel in every way. I want to visit again soon.

    Oh, it’s an Exiv!

I stayed here thinking it was “Kahala, Hawaii,” but unfortunately it turned out to be an Exiv property. I expected to be able to buy Hawaiian-style souvenirs at the shop, but it was disappointing. Same-day Reservations do not include Diamond benefits. The pool costs an additional 3,700 yen, which is hard to believe—I had just enjoyed the pool at a luxury Hotel near the Imperial Palace the day before, and of course it was free. The bathrobe was slightly discolored, and the male staff member at checkout was particularly unpleasant. There was no “thank you,” no send-off—just an atmosphere of “leave on your own.” I usually stay at five-star Hotels and Ryokan and have never been treated like this. Maybe it can’t be helped because the price is low?

    We had a comfortable stay.

I stayed here again for the first time in a year. This time, I made a Reservation for an upper-floor Room. It felt open and spacious, and the view was great, but unfortunately we had heavy rain and couldn’t enjoy good weather. Just like last time, the spa was wonderful, and I had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. I would love to stay again. I hope we have clear skies next time.

A perfect Hotel in every way!!

The entrance and lobby are very luxurious. The scent is a fragrance that reminds you of Hawaii. The Room is spacious at 50 square meters. Everything is new and spotless. The Hotel staff provide first-class hospitality. The breakfast buffet features carefully selected ingredients and thoughtfully prepared dishes. In particular, the blackthroat seaperch and freshly cooked premium rice (Inochi no Ichi) are outstanding. It was wonderful to finally stay at this Hotel, which I had always wanted to visit at least once.

For a business trip and a wedding anniversary.

My conference presentation at Pacifico Yokohama happened to coincide with our wedding anniversary, so my wife (who is in the same profession) and I returned to The Kahala, where we stayed last year and had a wonderful experience. I mentioned our anniversary at the time of Reservation, but when I asked the bell staff to store our luggage before check-in, all three of them congratulated us on our anniversary in unison, which made us truly happy. The Room was just as immaculate as ever, with a refined interior and an easy-to-use layout. The amenities were more than sufficient. We used the spa again this time as well; having private washing booths is great because you don’t have to worry about others around you. The sauna was the perfect size, and the cold bath temperature was just right—extremely refreshing. You could also see staff quietly maintaining the environment at all times. The bathtub in the Room was also wonderful; it felt like a waste not to enjoy both, so we did. For dinner, we chose Italian again and went with wine pairing. Everyone’s service was attentive and thoughtful, and the sommelier’s explanations and timing were excellent. From appetizers to dessert, everything was elaborate—new flavors and textures for us—and absolutely delicious. The pasta and melt-in-your-mouth meat dishes were outstanding. They also took photos for us with an anniversary plate beautifully covered in flowers. My wife had to leave early in the morning for work, and my session was first thing as well, so we didn’t have breakfast. Instead, we made a lunch Reservation at Hanagoyomi on the 3rd floor. After checking out—and receiving the photo taken at check-in in front of the flowers at reception—we headed there. With all seats being private rooms, we enjoyed an elegant time while looking out over the water feature through the window. The menu was dinner-level quality; we enjoyed a variety of luxurious seasonal ingredients including matsutake mushrooms. It was exceptionally delicious as well, and next time I’d love to visit for dinner. The Kahala’s restaurants are designed so you don’t have to be conscious of neighboring tables, which makes them very relaxing. The Kahala staff across every department greeted us with smiles and provided meticulous service—truly top-tier hospitality. It felt like their shared commitment as an organization is fully embraced by everyone there, and that level of professionalism was incredibly comforting for us. Please keep refining what you do. We attend conferences in Minato Mirai several times a year, so we would love to stay again.

    Stay for a Birthday

This was my sixth stay in Yokohama, and this time I came looking forward to the Kahala Hotel. The Room was lovely and very easy to use. However, unlike Minato Mirai, the view from the window didn’t have that sparkling feel... I chose it myself, but it was a little disappointing. Early in the morning, I took a walk around the Hotel. Even in the summer heat, the sea breeze feels wonderful. Breakfast was room service!!! “Japanese breakfast and Hawaiian-style Western breakfast”—the fish was grilled perfectly and everything was delicious. At check-in, thank you very much for handling various requests quickly due to our circumstances. Thank you as well for taking a photo to commemorate my birthday. (The lunch at OZIO was also very delicious.)

    I’m satisfied.

All staff welcomed us with warm smiles and provided exceptionally attentive service, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful holiday. The amenities are well stocked, so you can relax and spend time comfortably in your Room. The bathrobes are wonderfully soft. If you’d like to enjoy an ocean view from the window, we recommend making a Reservation for a higher floor.

    Wonderful

Check-in and check-out take a little time. Other than that, I am very satisfied. It is a luxurious Hotel, and the staff are polite and very friendly. We enjoyed many aspects of our stay. We would definitely like to stay again.

    Disappointing outcome

It’s best to assume there is no view on the lower floors. Rooms in the high-rise apartment building across the street are clearly visible, and privacy goes both ways. Do not expect anything like The Kahala Hotel in Hawaii—it’s completely different. The rooms, service, and food do not match the price, so I would not stay again.

The Hotel Room and the Facility were very nice, but the breakfast buffet had fewer Hawaii-inspired items than expected. In particular, the jams, fruits, and breads felt not much different from those at a typical Hotel.

    It was absolutely luxurious.

It was a new, clean, luxurious, and truly wonderful Hotel. The Room was spacious as well. The sink, toilet, and bath were all in one area, and it was extremely clean and roomy. Since I stayed with my two daughters, having two sinks was very convenient! I added breakfast, and there was a great variety—Western dishes, Japanese dishes, fruit, and drinks. It was filling and delicious. Around 10 p.m., the night view of Minato Mirai from the bar on the 14th floor was beautiful. The only slight downside was that I couldn’t enter the Hotel directly from the parking lot. Having to go outside on the first floor and re-enter through the main entrance was inconvenient.

It was my first stay in a while. This time, I arrived by private car. From the moment I handed over my car, it felt like an escape from everyday life had begun. The exceptionally comfortable service and the atmosphere within the Accommodation were truly one of a kind. I was deeply impressed. I look forward to staying again.

    Exceptional hospitality

Although it was during the summer holidays, it was a weekday so it wasn’t too crowded, and we were able to stay at a very good rate. From the moment we were picked up, the hospitality was outstanding, and we would definitely like to visit again. I don’t think this property is particularly geared toward children, but it was a little disappointing that guests under 16 could only use the spa and pool until 5:00 p.m. (our child is 11).

We enjoyed a relaxing stay again.

Once again, my spouse and I enjoyed a two-night stay with the course featuring kaiseki cuisine at the Japanese restaurant “Karekoyomi.” As always, we were delighted by the beautifully presented and truly delicious kaiseki dishes. For breakfast, we were especially impressed by the Japanese set meal on the second morning—both in variety and flavor. We already have a Reservation for our next visit in October, and we’re looking forward to it.

    We had a wonderful stay!

We stayed on 8/24, the day of the fireworks festival. We had a harbor-view Room, but unfortunately we could only see a little from it. We watched from outside the entrance early on, and the fireworks from there were incredible—truly moving. Still riding that excitement, we went to the lounge in the evening… We enjoyed drinks in a calm atmosphere while listening to live piano music, and in the morning we took our time and had breakfast in our Room. The Japanese breakfast was very delicious, but just one thing: there was far too much rice—so much that even after having seconds, there was still plenty left. I would appreciate it if the portion could be a bit smaller. The rice itself was excellent, so it felt wasteful not being able to finish it, and I also wondered about food waste. Each side dish was carefully seasoned and tasted wonderful. Check-out was smooth thanks to pre-payment in advance. Thank you as always for your thoughtful attention to detail. If we have another opportunity, we would love to stay again.

    Everything was ruined at check-in.

Maybe this is normal at The Kahala Yokohama, but I was surprised by the lobby situation right at the 3:00 p.m. check-in start. It was far from elegant—what happened to the smooth, smart baggage drop-off? Many guests had no chairs and were left standing. The soft-drink service in plastic “champagne glass” look-alikes only made it feel more awkward. The Room felt designed with comfort in mind mainly around the bathroom area, but I would have liked a chair for doing makeup. Since we were on a lower floor, I wasn’t expecting much of a view, but we had a beautiful look at Pacifico Yokohama’s Ocean Patio and were satisfied with the scenery. What stood out most—in a good way—was the breakfast buffet. There weren’t any trendy “Instagrammable” items, but I was impressed by how extensive the Japanese selection was. The ingredients and menu had originality and were genuinely memorable. Serving dishes like black cod and chicken marinated in koji from an open kitchen felt refreshingly unique. Even the miso soup had rich dashi flavor and thoughtfully prepared ingredients—I couldn’t believe this quality was available at a buffet. Many Hotels these days focus on one flashy signature item, so I’m not sure whether they’ll continue prioritizing quality over showiness here, but I’d like to return to enjoy new menu offerings.

I had pretty high expectations, so

I’m posting this intentionally because I hope things will improve. This was a luxury Hotel I’d wanted to stay at for a long time. My child wanted to go to the pool and the buffet, so we decided to stay as a final summer vacation memory. From the moment we arrived, we felt the luxurious atmosphere and our expectations rose. However, although check-in was at 15:00, we weren’t able to enter our Room until 15:40. The lobby was very crowded. Since guests under 16 can use the pool only until 17:00, we had to rush to get ready and it was exhausting. My child was also disappointed and said they wanted more time in the pool. I’ve stayed at many Hotels, but this is the first time my check-in has been delayed—usually they let you in earlier if anything. The Room was spacious and felt upscale, and the breakfast buffet was very delicious. That’s why I’m especially disappointed about the check-in delay. Everything else was wonderful, so if this improves, I’d like to stay again.

    Make unforgettable memories

I stayed at the Kahala Hotel for my birthday—it had been on my wish list for a long time, and choosing this Hotel was absolutely the right decision. I’ve stayed at many Hotels, but I felt the warmth of the staff here was truly number one. From start to finish, I could really sense the Hawaiian-born spirit of hospitality and felt completely at ease throughout my stay. Of course, the Room was also outstanding and incredibly relaxing. Now I understand why so many guests return again and again. Thank you so much for all your thoughtful care. I will definitely be back!!

The spa is now available for an additional fee.

We used the day-use plan for our wedding anniversary. On our previous day-use visit, the SPA fee was included in the day-use charge, but this time it was charged separately and we were asked to pay extra. When something that was previously free becomes an additional charge, it makes the service feel significantly worse. I’m not sure whether we will use it again next time.

    Disappointing pool

The building and the Room were clean, and the Facility was good, but the pool was disappointing. Even on a weekday, about 20 people were using it in a cramped space even though there are only two lanes. The usage fee was fairly high and charged per person, but we were told there weren’t enough deck chairs and could borrow only one, so we couldn’t relax. Partway through, we were told that if there are more than 30 users, a 45-minute time limit applies and they would let us know, which made it hard to unwind. Also, even on a weekday we had to wait quite a long time for check-in—it felt like a Business Hotel. Since children can use the pool only until 5:00 p.m., I asked to check in early; they said we could go to the pool first, but changing clothes was difficult. It’s a Hotel where you need to plan carefully in advance. Breakfast was delicious.
