  Infinity Onsen

  The infinity Onsen felt as though it blended seamlessly into the endless ocean, and I was able to soak and relax while listening to the sound of the waves. The meals were a delight from the very first glance, and everything tasted wonderful—making the wine go down easily. This Accommodation is one I’d love to visit again in a different season.   This is my first summer here.

  I had visited in spring before, but this was my first stay in summer. The meals were very satisfying, but perhaps because it was summer, there was a small amount of sand left in the large public bath tub. That was a bit disappointing.

As the seasons change, so do the San’in region’s seasonal ingredients and the scenery of the Sea of Japan, and we hope you enjoyed a different side of Kaike in summer compared with spring.   We stayed here for a...

  We stayed here for a family summer trip. The hospitality was outstanding. Everything was excellent. We also really enjoyed the delicious meals. If I had one small request, it would be even better if we could order additional à la carte dishes. But truly, in every way, the staff and the entire Hotel were wonderful.

  It was wonderful.

  We’d wanted to visit for a long time, but we had to cancel our Reservation again and again, so this time our whole family was really looking forward to it. We chose the premium Room, but the differences from the superior type weren’t very clear on the website. For four people, it was spacious enough. Due to an issue, we asked to switch to an adjacent Room, and the response was quick. The staff—including international team members—were polite and professional, which we truly appreciated. That said, since we were on the third floor, the terrace and the beach right in front felt extremely close, so using the open-air bath took a bit of courage. Privacy curtains/roller screens were properly provided, but we waited until after dark. Also, there seemed to be some kind of stand/platform in the space under the futon storage area, and it was very dusty—this was a little disappointing. The Room is quite large and the air conditioning worked well. In similar-shaped Hotels we’ve stayed at before, some areas were uncomfortably warm, but here it stayed cool and comfortable. There are also two TVs, which made it convenient for four people. Dinner was unbelievably delicious—one carefully prepared dish after another—and everything tasted amazing. The restaurant staff were all courteous; it felt comfortable; and even the drinks were great. I highly recommend having dinner there! Breakfast was a buffet and also very good. I was especially happy with how delicious the rice was. It’s rare to find a place where every Room faces the ocean and comes with an open-air bath. The ocean view from the large public bath is beautiful as well—it’s perfect for relaxing. Because it’s popular, Reservations may be hard to get—but if we stay in Kaike Onsen again, we’ll choose Yugetsu. Shogetsu also interests me. Near the first-floor lobby there’s a lounge-like area where you can enjoy tea and juice; that space had a nice atmosphere too. We’re truly glad we came as a family. Thank you very much for everything.

  Summer in the San’in Region

  Our family of four took our first trip to the Sanin region and stayed at Kaike Yugetsu. We’ve stayed at many Accommodations from Hokkaido to Miyakojima, but this visit was especially satisfying. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a suite, which made everyone in the family very happy. From the ocean-view Onsen and meals to the warm hospitality of the staff, we had a truly comfortable stay. At dinner, I asked for my plum wine soda “light,” and somehow my second drink ended up non-alcoholic—an amusing little mix-up that became a fun travel memory. It was our first time in the Sanin region, and all four of us were very pleased. We’d love to return in a different season.

  It was a wonderful Ryokan.

  We stayed here because it has an infinity Onsen. Even though we bathed in strong winds, possibly due to a typhoon, it felt like we were one with the ocean and was incredibly refreshing. The service also truly reflected a spirit of hospitality. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but everyone spoke excellent Japanese, and their wonderful smiles left a great impression. Above all, the food was absolutely delicious. With beautiful tableware and dishes that captured the season, we naturally ended up enjoying more drinks as well (laugh). It was also great that detailed explanations of the dishes appeared when you scanned the QR code. When food is brought out, you don’t always catch everything that’s said. We were able to spend a truly luxurious time here. We’d love to stay again for another special occasion. Thank you very much.

  I stayed in a Deluxe...

  I stayed in a Deluxe Room, and since it was a corner room, I could see the nighttime fireworks right in front of me from the open-air Onsen bath. The open-air Onsen bath was incredibly relaxing, especially while listening to the sound of the waves. Dinner was also carefully prepared—beautifully presented and delicious. At my age, rich meat can sometimes feel too heavy, but the Olein 55 beef was well-marbled and tender without being greasy, so I could enjoy it lightly. If I had one request, it would be to have a chair in the washbasin area. When I visit Kaike Onsen again, I would love to stay here again.

  Your Favorite, Yuzuki

  My favorite place, Yugetsu, was wonderful again. From check-in, the staff recognized that this was my third stay and said, “Thank you for staying with us again,” which made me very happy. The welcome drink (black soybean tea) was delicious. I also enjoyed the pear dessert! The Room was, as always, beautifully cleaned and felt very fresh and spotless. This time I stayed in a Room with a bathtub, and since it was hot outside, it was great to be able to rinse off right away. The toilet was also thoroughly cleaned and comfortable to use. At other Hotels I sometimes notice discoloration around the bidet seat and feel disappointed, but Yugetsu’s toilet was exceptionally clean. The bath area was also clean—everything around the water facilities was spotless!! As for the Onsen, there seemed to be many guests this time, so it felt quite busy. However, they provided a floor wiper so we could clean up hair around the drying area after use, which I really appreciated. It would have been even better if one had also been placed near the changing area. The changing room felt a bit warm. Also, there was a hair dryer from a brand I didn’t know how to use; it would be helpful if a simple instruction note could be placed near the dryers. We only used breakfast dining this time, but every dish was delicious—simmered dishes, grilled fish, miso soup, curry—everything tasted great. Since we had a Multiple Night Stay for two nights, I would love to see a bit more variety in the menu. The dessert ice cream and cake were also delicious. The sherbet flavor was grape both days as well; since it’s Yugetsu’s food quality we enjoy so much, I would have liked to try different flavors. It felt more crowded than usual this time as well; however، the breakfast table layout had plenty of space between tables، so my husband and I could eat quietly together، which we really appreciated. I’m always truly happy about the commemorative photo at check-out—it becomes such a nice memory every time. I’d like to stay again in winter. One disappointing point: when I went into the outdoor bath in the morning، there were many insects floating on the water، which bothered me۔ I wanted to relax longer، so that part was unfortunate۔

  This was a girls’ tr...

  This was a girls’ trip with my granddaughter and daughter, and they were very happy. The bath in the Room was excellent. The rooftop open-air bath we used first thing in the morning was perfect. The fireworks at night were also great. It turned into a trip that everyone was very satisfied with. Thank you very much.

  The view from the ba...

  I’m glad I chose to stay here.

  I wanted a guest Room with a private Onsen bath so I could soak whenever I liked, even at night, and that’s how I found this place. With an ocean view, an open-air Onsen bath, and an indoor bath as well, I would have been satisfied with that alone—but the spacious Room, the bathrobes, and other thoughtful touches made the service feel like it went above and beyond. Both the front desk and restaurant staff were professional and courteous. We only had breakfast, but the small buffet was actually perfect for me since I don’t eat much. The clam miso soup was so delicious I went back for seconds—gentle and comforting in flavor. My companion loved everything too. Yonago Airport is also close by, so we were able to head home with plenty of time to spare. Thank you very much.

  Suitable for a family of four.

  We used this Accommodation for the first time on a summer family trip from Kansai. The exterior was beautiful, and the welcome drinks and snack service were great! Dinner was very luxurious, and everything we tried was delicious! Drink prices were also budget-friendly. For breakfast, the kids felt it was a bit lacking because there weren’t many Western-style side dishes they wanted, but the adults were satisfied. The curry was delicious. The infinity Onsen in the large public bath was also very clean! The in-room bath was spacious, and the Room was clean as well. If I had to mention a downside, the large public bath can be used by anyone, so I felt slightly uneasy only about security. Also, I noticed that the door to the in-room wash area squeaked. The sea is right in front of you, and for those coming for beach activities, there is also a changing room for guests and free life jacket rentals—so it seemed very comfortable to stay here. If we go to Tottori again, we would like to use this Accommodation again!

  A Regular Accommodation in Kaike Onsen

  This Accommodation consistently provides a reassuring stay that is almost always satisfying. Since it was a premium option chosen for us, we were especially pleased with the Room. The service was good as usual. The meals were delicious as always, but I’d like to note one small concern. On the day of our stay it was crowded, and perhaps because many staff members seemed less experienced, dinner service was quite slow, which slightly reduced our enjoyment of an otherwise excellent meal. This hasn’t happened before, so it stood out a bit. That said, we love this Accommodation and will visit again.

  It was a very nice accommodation.

  We stayed for two nights on a Plan with dinner and breakfast included. The foreign staff at the front desk and in the dinner venue were wonderful— their Japanese was excellent, their service was polite, and it felt very comfortable. Even the younger staff wearing “in training” name tags were pleasant and courteous, which impressed us and made us feel that the training and guidance are thorough overall. The meals were delicious, and each course was served at just the right time, so we felt they were truly attentive to guests. The scenic open-air bath was also very relaxing. In the washing area inside the bathhouse, cleansing oil and face wash were provided, which we really appreciated because we didn’t need to bring our own. We went in many times, and it was nice that MIKIMOTO products and THANN (a Thai brand) toiletries were placed alternately at the washing stations so we could choose depending on our mood. The Room was spacious, and while we needed to fill the water ourselves for the open-air bath in the Room (and adjust the temperature ourselves if it cooled), it had a great view and we enjoyed it. One small thing: the faucet at the sink in our Room had extremely strong water pressure—when I tried to turn on the water normally it blasted out so forcefully that a can I was rinsing got knocked away by the pressure, which honestly made me laugh. Every time I used it after that I had to turn it very carefully. Even with that, this Accommodation was truly comfortable and we were completely satisfied! It rained both days so the weather wasn’t great, but on departure day we finally saw blue skies—and from our Room, the sea looked absolutely beautiful. The rainy sea also had that distinctive Sea of Japan atmosphere so I didn’t mind at all, but I’m glad we got to see blue skies and a blue ocean at least at the end. We also appreciated receiving a commemorative photo. We’d love to stay again!

  I’ve stayed here 7 or 8 times. A very satisfying Accommodation. The staff’s service, the Onsen, the cleanliness of the Room, and the meals—everything is excellent.   The staff’s service is excellent.

  All the staff, including the relatively young team members and international staff, were very polite and made us feel welcome. The Onsen, perhaps due to its high salt content, kept us warm for a long time without getting chilled afterward. Since we were on a Multiple Night Stay, they even changed the course menu on the second day; it was wonderfully delicious and made us true fans. It left us wishing we had stayed longer.

  Night 7 of a 9-night, 10-day trip

  Although it was windy by the sea that day, the weather was perfectly clear and the Sea of Japan view from the Room was wonderful. The Room was spacious and clean. However, the open-air bath on the balcony felt a bit old, so we didn’t use it. The large public bath on the upper floor has an open-air bath with a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan, and it was great both after arrival and for an early-morning soak. The meals were excellent. Dinner was great as expected, and although we didn’t have high expectations for the breakfast buffet, it turned out to be very good.

  It was very good!

  We had a very relaxing stay. The homemade gelato at breakfast is something you rarely find elsewhere, and it was absolutely delicious!   Infinity Onsen

  The Accommodation’s signature infinity Onsen was a wonderful, rare experience and very relaxing. The Room also has an Onsen, but it feels a bit small for two people, and in lower-floor Rooms you may feel the gaze of people walking along the coast. There are blinds and curtains for privacy, but using them means you can’t enjoy the ocean view. If upgrading to a higher-floor Room is within your budget, I think it will make a big difference in overall satisfaction. For meals, we went to Naru Sushi just a short walk away; unless you order crab, it isn’t overly expensive and I recommend it. The Rooms and Facility aren’t ultra-luxurious, but they are spacious, new, clean, and comfortable. Even the standard Japanese-Western Room is more than spacious enough.

We were delighted to read that you enjoyed our signature infinity open-air bath and that it was “an experience hard to find elsewhere.” We are also relieved to hear that you were satisfied with the cleanliness and spaciousness of your Room and the facilities throughout the property. At the same time, thank you sincerely for your valuable feedback regarding the size of the in-room open-air bath and visibility from outside. We had included the following information on our website and in our in-house guide site as measures to ensure privacy for the in-room Onsen open-air baths; however, we apologize for not explaining this clearly enough. ・At Kaike Yugetsu, we use specially treated glass on the terrace railing to make it difficult to see inside from outside, so guests can enjoy their in-room Onsen open-air bath with peace of mind. ・If you have concerns, you may lower the roll curtain installed on the glass. This provides an easy and effective way to block outside views. ・You can also attach the thick cloth provided in your Room to the handrail for added privacy. Regarding our infinity open-air bath, it is designed so that if you bathe while keeping a low posture, you will not be visible from outside. Rooms on higher floors also offer a more open view, so we hope this will be helpful when choosing a Room for your next stay. We are very pleased that even with a No Meals Included plan, you were able to enjoy a relaxing stay including Kaike Onsen and dining in the surrounding area.   Everything is wonderful.

  We visited Tottori to celebrate my elderly mother’s birthday and stayed here. From check-in to check-out, all the staff were kind and attentive, making our stay very comfortable. We had both breakfast and dinner, and everything was delicious. The dining area is on the 2nd floor, which is relatively low, but that actually allowed us to enjoy a clear view of the sea from near to far. We stayed on the 3rd floor, and my mother looked out at the ocean from the balcony for a long time—she seemed truly happy. The large public bath on the 7th floor also had a great view and was very relaxing. At checkout, they offered a commemorative photo service and gave us printed photos on the spot (and digital data as well), which was a wonderful touch. We had a genuinely great time, and seeing my mother so happy meant everything. Thank you to all the staff. I would love to stay again and highly recommend it to others.

Your report that lint and hair remained on the shelf above the bed is unacceptable, and we deeply regret our insufficient cleaning and inspection procedures. We should have ensured you could relax with peace of mind from the moment you entered your Room, and we apologize again for failing to meet your expectations. In response, we will review not only our cleaning staff procedures but also our final inspection process to prevent a recurrence.   We had a relaxing stay.

  The service was very pleasant, and we were able to relax. The meals felt lightly seasoned overall, but the main crab and meat were perfect—not overcooked as is often the case with Hotel kaiseki. What was disappointing was that the toilet seat was high (perhaps for accessibility), making it hard to sit on, and there was a sticker saying to close the lid when flushing for infection control even though there was no lid. Also, the dressing table lighting was dim, making it difficult for my wife to do her makeup. Overall, it was a Hotel worth the price.
