    Wonderful.

    One of the highlights of staying at this Hotel was breakfast, and just as the Reviews said, I was amazed by the huge variety—so much that I couldn’t finish everything. Also, not only sparkling wine but sake was all-you-can-drink, which was fantastic.

    It was a very good Hotel!

    Hokkaido / Hakodate City [Early Bird 90] Up to 45% OFF! Save with an early Reservation <Breakfast Included: Buffet> I stayed with this Plan. I made a Reservation for a twin Room, but they upgraded my Room and prepared a spacious Deluxe Twin for me, which made my stay very comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent, with both seafood and Western dishes. I was able to enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace. This is a Hotel I would like to use again when I visit Hakodate. Thank you very much!

    Maybe my expectations were too high—disappointing.

    I finally had the chance to stay on the Royal Floor, something I’d wanted to do at least once. Check-in is done in your Room, but there is no dedicated counter for Royal Floor guests, so in the end I still had to stand in the long check-in line. The Room has an Onsen bath. I chose a bath-equipped Room for my elderly mother, but there is only a shower booth next to the tub and no washing area. I have stayed in many Rooms with private Onsen baths, and this was the first time there was no washing area. Also, the toilet door opens inward. Because of that, you have to squeeze through a very narrow gap and turn sideways to reach the toilet. I would like staff to try using it themselves. The door should probably open outward. As for the highly praised breakfast: last time I was impressed, but this time it was disappointing. There were lines everywhere, and I couldn’t take my time choosing food. The rice in the wooden tub wasn’t tasty either. The miso soup was empty. Even though an Aladdin toaster should toast quickly, it wouldn’t toast no matter how long I waited. There is a wide selection of dishes, but nothing particularly memorable. That said, while these are complaints, there were also many good points. I am grateful to all of the staff who assisted us. Last time we stayed in a Premier Deluxe Twin Room; this time on the Royal Floor—maybe my expectations were simply too high!? It’s a Hotel I used to love, so it’s disappointing!

    Amazing view

    The view of Mt. Hakodate, the sea, and the sunset from the large public bath was absolutely beautiful. The morning bath also had a great view and felt wonderful! And of course, as everyone says, breakfast was delicious too.

    The ultimate Facility for sauna lovers

    We stayed here for a family trip: a couple in our 30s and our 2-year-old child. We made the Reservation without realizing it was a four-star Hotel, but we had a wonderful experience. [Large Public Bath + Sauna] The sauna in the large public bath was excellent. It’s a sauna-stone style sauna, with automatic löyly every 30 minutes, two cold baths (a jacuzzi cold bath around 20°C and another cold bath around 15°C), and a relaxation area next to the rooftop open-air bath—everything was fantastic. The rooftop open-air bath also has a great atmosphere while enjoying Hakodate’s night view. Bossa nova plays throughout the Hotel at a comfortable volume that never overpowers the space. [Dining] We used the breakfast buffet. There are so many options it’s hard to choose, but there were also plenty of easy-to-eat items for small children, and the space is well organized. [Guest Room] We stayed in a standard twin room. It was spacious enough, and the beds were high enough that our child wasn’t likely to fall off. [Facility] Everything felt clean, and with welcome drinks, a bar, and dining options after bathing, it was very comfortable. [Service] Two small points stood out. Before our stay we had questions and tried calling several times, but couldn’t get through—though they may have been busy. Also, there wasn’t any particular greeting or assistance at the drop-off area upon arrival. These were very minor “if I had to mention something” points and probably wouldn’t affect anyone’s decision about staying here.

    A very clean Hotel

    This was my first time staying at this Hotel. It was very clean and beautiful. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options, and there were many desserts as well, but I was a little disappointed that the canelés I had seen on YouTube weren’t available. The Eggs Benedict was delicious. The indoor bath and open-air bath were both spacious, and it was great that they had a ReFa hair dryer. The staff were very pleasant, and this is a Hotel I definitely want to stay at again.

    A Hotel in a great location for sightseeing in central Hakodate

    We stayed for two nights over Golden Week with our child in a Japanese-Western style Room. The Hotel is conveniently located close to Hakodate Station, and within walking distance of major sightseeing spots such as the Red Brick Warehouses and the Hakodate Ropeway. There are two on-site parking areas and one coin-operated parking lot across the street, but spaces fill up starting with the closest lots. If you can’t check in early, you may end up using the farther coin-operated lot. In that case, the instructions for handling the parking ticket are hard to understand, so I would like them to provide a simple guide leaflet. The Hotel itself feels relatively new and clean—more like a slightly upscale Business Hotel. Since it’s often featured on social media and highly rated, those expecting a luxury-hotel atmosphere may be disappointed. The Japanese-Western style Room we stayed in was residence-style and came equipped with a front-loading washer/dryer, microwave, and basic cooking utensils. It felt ideal for group trips where you want to cook or relax in your Room. The large public bath is on the top floor with views toward Mt. Hakodate. The small shop by the post-bath sofa area was also convenient because purchases can be charged to your Room. However, getting from the west-side new wing to the public bath involves an overly complicated route inside the building. I recommend that elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues choose their Room carefully—even if it means contacting the Accommodation in advance. Breakfast has been talked about extensively elsewhere, but I found both quality and variety satisfying. There are plenty of options from seafood to desserts, so you likely won’t get bored over a two-night stay. That said, it’s still just a buffet, so I didn’t feel it deserved quite as much hype as it gets. If you don’t need a big breakfast, trying nearby restaurants might be a good option. Overall, while it may not stand out purely as an Accommodation experience, it’s definitely worth staying at if your main purpose is sightseeing around central Hakodate.

    Since it opened, I’v...

    Since it opened, I’ve stayed here about 2–3 times a year. It’s my favorite Hotel. Thank you again for letting me relax and enjoy my stay this time as well. The only Room I haven’t stayed in yet is the Royal Room, so I hope to stay there someday. This was my first stay in four months, and the elevators had become more complicated, which was a bit difficult for an older guest. Next time, I’ll make a Reservation with the floor level in mind.

    A solid, well-built Hotel with a simple, no-frills atmosphere.

    We stayed at Century Marina for our family of four on our first trip to Hakodate. It may not rely on flashy gimmicks, but it’s a truly capable Hotel that never cuts corners where it matters. The circular check-in counter is well staffed, so we were able to check in smoothly without waiting.\n\nThe Room was compact yet modern and comfortable, and we could really relax. The built-in window-side sofa can be rearranged freely, which is fantastic—everything is very thoughtfully designed. It was also a great idea to show the crowd level of the baths on the top-right of the TV screen.\n\nThe toilet had plenty of space and was comfortable, and the sink area was as well. If I had one small request, it would be nice to have high-end skincare amenities such as toner and lotion; I felt the same about the baths.\n\nThe calm atmosphere and spacious corridors create a “home-like” feeling similar to what The Ritz-Carlton advocates, making it very relaxing. The rooftop open-air observation bath isn’t quite an infinity pool like Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, but you can still enjoy bathing while looking out over the city lights at night.\n\nThey also offer free pillow rentals (several types) and various aroma oils. Even though I couldn’t find a pillow that suited me elsewhere despite trying expensive ones, I really liked the pillows here. The bed was also extremely comfortable. Their willingness to invest properly in areas that matter—even when it costs more—is one of their best qualities.\n\nThat commitment shows in the breakfast buffet as well: all of the seafood was delicious, and the made-to-order omelet (cooked just how you like it) was outstanding. Everything—including Western options—was excellent, so even over two nights we couldn’t try everything.\n\nHakodate itself is a wonderful laid-back city that we’d like to visit regularly, and when we do, we’ll likely stay at Century Marina again. Thank you very much!\n\nLastly, there seems to be a professional massage provider on-site that also operates street-level shops; I enjoyed a massage while my wife and daughter enjoyed spa-style treatments. With this included too, it’s hard to take chances on other hotels (in a good way).

    Delicious breakfast

    I stayed here during Golden Week on a trip to Hakodate. As rumored, the breakfast was very generous and tasted excellent. They also took care to prevent crowding, so I had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was very spacious and relaxing. The Hotel staff were pleasant, and having laundry facilities was very helpful. One concern: I booked a non-smoking Room, so there was no cigarette smell inside at all, but the hallway after getting off the elevator smelled strongly of smoke, and I found myself holding my breath every time I walked through it. I think smoking Rooms should be placed at the far end of the floor.

    It was clean and comfortable.

    We stayed as a family. The Hotel was clean and the location was convenient. You can also walk to the Red Brick Warehouse for a pleasant stroll. The Onsen was great, and the relaxation area on the Onsen floor was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent; we went early and were able to take our time. The next day we stayed at another Hotel known for its classic breakfast, but Century Marina was far better.

    Excellent.

    I stayed here after hearing it’s the best Accommodation in Hakodate, and it was a wonderful stay. I stayed in the Royal Suite Room, and the view was spectacular. The mattress was also very comfortable. I will make a Reservation again when I visit Hakodate.

    The Best of Hakodate

    The bath was great, and the breakfast course in the morning was an amazing surprise. Free Sapporo beer from the morning was fantastic. Hakodate is the best.

    Breakfast lived up to the hype.

    Breakfast was as rumored—excellent in both quality and variety. The Room was also clean and pleasant, but ideally I would have liked two sinks in the bathroom. The elevator instructions (which floors it does not stop on, and how to tap the security card) felt a bit unhelpful. I think it would be difficult for elderly guests to understand. Also, the parking gate was terrible: two parking cards came out, or the gate wouldn’t open. This happened both times we entered and exited—twice on the day of our stay and again the next day—so I don’t think it was a one-off issue. This should be improved urgently.

    I have been staying here since the pre-opening. I am very satisfied with the atmosphere, Facility, and service. The breakfast in particular is so irresistible that I find myself coming back regularly—as if under a spell. I’m sure I’ll end up making another Reservation before I know it. One thing I noticed this time was that the staff seemed to smile a little less than before. I’m sure there are many reasons... I will visit again.

    Feels great.

    I stayed at Yunokawa Hewitt the day before, and thank you for taking care of me today. Thank you very much for the upgrade. The front desk staff were kind and made me feel at ease. Right after check-in, I went straight to the Onsen. The Onsen water was like Arima’s Kinsen, and it was so relaxing. I borrowed my favorite pillow and some aroma items and slept soundly. Then came the breakfast I’d been looking forward to. I lined up at 6:30. I was shown to my seat right away, which felt great first thing in the morning. For seafood, I waited about 20 minutes in line. I enjoyed seafood with sake and got into party mode—but I had to go sightseeing! Yunokawa Hewitt is great too, but today you won. Thank you very much.

    After checking out, ...

    After checking out, I asked the hotel to store my luggage and only learned about the complimentary drink service when I came back to pick it up. I arrived a little early for check-in, and there was no announcement from the front desk. I would have appreciated at least a brief notice. The vending machines were only in the main building, and they did not accept new banknotes. It looked like IC cards could be used, but it didn’t respond. I went to the front desk and had my money exchanged for older bills, but there was still no mention of the drink service. I checked that the large public bath was supposed to be quiet before going, but the changing area was overcrowded. Several people were sitting in front of the lockers while changing, so I couldn’t reach mine. Even when asked, they wouldn’t stand up, and it felt dangerous because locker doors could easily hit someone’s head. Breakfast had a wide selection, including soft-serve ice cream that kids can enjoy, but the food was cold and overall it was just an average buffet.

    This is the highest-rated Hotel I’ve stayed at in Hakodate.

    I’ve visited Hakodate more than a dozen times for both business and sightseeing and have stayed at several hotels, but Century Marina Hakodate is my top-rated choice. A lavish breakfast trend that started at one hotel has spread so widely it’s even been dubbed the “Hakodate breakfast war,” and I’ve also stayed at other leading hotels, but this Hotel stands out overall—not only for the breakfast, but also for its location, hospitality, and relatively reasonable rates. Breakfast features exceptionally fresh, high-quality seafood such as salmon roe and tuna, along with a wide variety of other dishes. What impressed me most was the freshly cooked rice; I enjoyed it as tamago kake gohan for the first time in a while, and it was truly delicious. In the past, one of my pleasures in Hakodate was visiting shops at the morning market for breakfast—but that’s now a thing of the past. In addition to breakfast, the guest room layout is thoughtfully designed and very easy to use, and the view from the window was great as well. To add to that, I was very impressed by how courteous and professional the front desk and breakfast venue staff were. This will be my go-to Accommodation for future trips to Hakodate.

    We stayed here to celebrate an important milestone—our child’s graduation trip. Because my child loves seafood, I had carefully searched online for an Accommodation with an excellent seafood breakfast buffet, and chose this place. It turned out to be a wonderful stay that far exceeded our expectations. We were first moved by the thoughtful preparation of such a lovely Room. The space was spotless, comfortable, and meticulously cleaned throughout. For my child, it was even better than the “million-dollar night view,” to the point that we canceled our planned visit to Mt. Hakodate because they wanted to spend the whole time relaxing in the Room—and we truly did as a family. During our stay, we also enjoyed a foot massage together. Unfortunately, our preferred time slot was fully booked and it started at 10:00 p.m., but thanks to the staff member’s careful treatment and pleasant pressure, my sleepy child relaxed completely. It was a blissful moment where all our everyday fatigue seemed to melt away, and we both felt truly refreshed. And then came the breakfast buffet we had been looking forward to! Fresh seafood such as salmon roe, tuna, salmon, scallops, and squid was beautifully laid out, and we enjoyed creating our own luxurious seafood bowls just the way we liked them. Everything was amazingly delicious—and not only the seafood; there was also an impressive variety of other dishes. We even laughed as a family saying, “You’d probably need about three nights here to try everything.” What stayed with us most of all was the warm and attentive service from everyone on staff. No matter which section they worked in, everyone greeted us with smiles, and we could genuinely feel heartfelt hospitality beyond any script or manual. Thanks to you all, this graduation trip became even more special for us. I’ve already recommended this place to friends—and if I have another chance to visit Hakodate in the future, I will definitely choose this Accommodation again without hesitation. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

    The breakfast was luxurious and we were completely satisfied!

    The guest room, large public bath, and dinner (robatayaki) were all satisfying. The breakfast the next morning was the best I’ve ever had in terms of variety, portion size, and freshness. I was especially impressed by the abundance and freshness of the seafood. My wife and I are already talking about staying again.

    We had a wonderful stay.

    With heartfelt gratitude, I first visited last year hoping my family could enjoy a luxurious stay. The Room, hospitality, and breakfast were all wonderful, and we had a truly lovely time, so this year we stayed again in the same Room with the same Plan. Our satisfaction was just as high as last year—both in appreciation and enjoyment—but with the opening of the new building last year, three new dining venues also opened. This year, we tried for the first time the course-style breakfast at one of them, Kita-no-Michi. It was an exceptionally satisfying course featuring luxurious charcoal-grilled dishes even in the morning. I highly recommend experiencing it at least once. It felt like Century Marina’s appeal has been elevated to an even higher level.

    It was a wonderful new Hotel.

    The entire Hotel was new, spotless, and very comfortable to stay in. For breakfast, we chose the set course instead of a buffet, and it was luxurious and could be enjoyed in a calm setting. The only disappointment was that I would have liked a door for the toilet. In typical unit bathrooms, the sink area and toilet are combined, but since the shower booth was separated and felt upscale, it would have been perfect if the toilet area also had its own door.

    The Coveted GLAY Room

    When traveling to Hakodate, it has to be Century! It’s an Accommodation I love that much. It’s close to the station, the open-air bath is so relaxing, and the breakfast buffet has a great variety—fun and delicious! All the staff are courteous, and I feel truly happy throughout my stay. When I heard Century had a GLAY collaboration Room, it was hard to get a Reservation—but I finally made it! The entire Room was decorated with GLAY items; for fans, it was pure bliss. You can’t help taking more photos than necessary. I was so happy—I honestly wanted to live in a Room like that! Haha I’ll definitely stay here again when I travel to Hakodate. Thank you very much again for this time!

    A long-awaited return after 10 years. The same warm hospitality and a luxurious breakfast.

    I stayed here again for the first time in about 10 years, since my visit during Golden Week (a 10-day holiday) shortly after the Hotel opened. Last time I wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t fully enjoy the breakfast buffet, which I deeply regretted. Since then, I’d seen it featured on TV many times, so this time I came back determined to “redeem” myself—feeling great and ready to enjoy it properly. [Breakfast: An impressive lineup] Just as I remembered, it was incredibly lavish. Both Japanese and Western options were plentiful, and being able to pair the food not only with sparkling wine but even with sake is an irresistible luxury for anyone who enjoys drinks. It was a blissful morning. Rather than driving, I strongly recommend using public transportation—or the shuttle bus (services are limited). [Dinner: Satisfied with the food, but…] This time I chose a Plan that included dinner. The quality of the dishes was excellent, but for someone like me who prefers to take my time enjoying drinks and conversation (maybe it’s age?), the allotted course dining time felt a bit tight. [Overall] Even more than 10 years after opening, I was impressed that they have maintained the same high level of service as back then. It’s a wonderful Hotel that doesn’t feel touched by time. I would love to visit again.

    It was wonderful with our pet.

    We stayed with our dog, and from check-in to check-out this was a very comfortable Hotel with wonderful, thoughtful service throughout. The in-Room bath and the large public bath, breakfast, and location were all excellent. Just one thing: at night, noise from the staff entrance/exit (it was also marked as an emergency exit) sometimes carried into our private room and bothered both us and our dog, so that was the only negative point. Other than that, no complaints at all—we would definitely like to stay again.

    Wonderful

    We stayed as a family of three. Everything was simply wonderful. The staff were especially attentive and helpful. We chose the breakfast buffet, and it was amazing as well! This is a Hotel we would definitely like to stay at again if we have the chance to visit Hakodate. Thank you very much.
