    Celebrating 20 Years of Marriage

    Thank you for the wonderful experience during our stay. 21 years ago, we stayed at a group accommodation near Lake Akan and had fond memories of its atmosphere, which led us to choose your accommodation for a multiple night stay as part of revisiting memorable places. The staff created a very welcoming atmosphere, allowing us to enjoy two full days comfortably. Both the onsen and meals exceeded our expectations and were truly delightful. However, we had planned to use the BAR as a family gathering spot on the final night of our stay but unfortunately could not create good memories there. We were seated on a sofa first, given menus and towels, and waited while orders from guests who arrived later at the counter were taken care of. Additionally, loud guests in an outdoor sofa area disrupted the atmosphere with inappropriate behavior. After waiting for about 30 minutes due to fatigue and discomfort caused by this situation, we decided to leave. To put it simply, some guests displayed behavior that could be described as harassment towards staff or others in their surroundings—behavior that was disappointing especially coming from fellow Japanese individuals amidst international staff members and diverse guests. While it is inevitable that some guests may lack consideration for TPO (time/place/occasion), I believe there is room for operational improvement such as implementing reservation systems so everyone can enjoy their time comfortably. Once again, I must emphasize how perfect your accommodation itself was—the meals and staff provided complete satisfaction. I will look forward to enjoying the BAR next time!

    It was a nearby trip, but...

    We had an unexpected opportunity to stay at a wonderful hotel near an onsen area. Although it was a last-minute reservation made the day before, choosing this accommodation turned out to be the right decision. We had always thought that the Tsuruga "Za" series might be too luxurious for us, but upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by how excellent this accommodation was. In particular, the politeness of the male staff member in charge of our room left a lasting impression and made us feel truly comfortable after a long time. He took care of us throughout our meal with such attentiveness that we could enjoy our delicious dishes thoroughly. The cuisine was also exceptional—sophisticated and refined. Unlike some high-end accommodations where service becomes overly casual midway through your stay, this hotel maintained impeccable hospitality throughout, which was refreshing and delightful. It truly felt like an extraordinary experience away from daily life. Thank you very much!

    Relax and indulge in luxury.

    The Room was spacious and clean, and the open-air bath was also large and comfortable. With the all-inclusive plan, we could freely enjoy comparing drinks, including alcohol. The room service appetizers were of good quality and quantity, leaving us satisfied. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The portions were just right, with no complaints at all. It was incredibly quiet, allowing us to relax and have a very satisfying stay. We would love to visit again if possible.

    I'm a bit unsure if it's worth the price.

    The spacious and luxurious space, as well as the relaxing private open-air bath in the room, were excellent. However, I was left with some doubts about whether all services matched the price and the top-tier status of the Tsuruga Group. [Positive Points] - The size, design, and air conditioning of the room are superb. The private open-air bath was large with good quality water. Although it was on a lower floor, we could enjoy views of Lake Shikotsu (Shikotsuko), making our time in the room wonderful. It wasn't too hot or cold; it was quiet and we slept well. - The drinks available through all-inclusive service had a sense of luxury that lived up to expectations. The fruits prepared for welcome service were visually beautiful and tasted excellent. [Negative Points] - There is a significant disparity in staff levels. Many staff members were pleasant and responded quickly; however, there were some who seemed inexperienced to an extent that made us uneasy (not foreign staff), as well as those clearly making personal calls within hotel premises—staff not quite fitting for a first-class establishment could be observed. Additionally, when sending luggage home there was an error where nearly double charges occurred; although corrected after pointing out later by phone call—which isn't pleasant regarding money matters—it should be noted since guests sending luggage might not be uncommon. - I felt slight inconvenience with shuttle bus service—though having any shuttle service these days is appreciated so this remains just feedback—the same bus serves nearby group hotels but Aoi no Za guests board later which can make securing adjacent seats difficult during busy times; also despite short distances both ways switching onto smaller buses seemed somewhat troublesome. - During our stay on very cold days floors inside-room baths felt chilly—a downside from having spacious baths though perhaps only occurring few days annually—and skincare amenities matched other Tsuruga Group properties which personally liked yet thought special touch would have been nice too.

    It was very good.

    I visited for my wife's birthday. They were very helpful in assisting with the surprise gift in advance. The room was spacious and clean. The dining area was a private room, so it was safe even with children. The seasoning was slightly mild, but I think that's a matter of personal preference. The only downside was that the all-inclusive bar we went to at night didn't have enough staff, and since two people were handling both the bar and room service, I felt a bit hesitant to place an order. I felt that at least there should be separate staff for room service and bar duties. Other than that, it was a wonderful hotel. Thank you very much.

    Luxury Ryokan

    It was a cold rainy day at the end of the autumn foliage, but the facility service was high-level. There were many vacancies, and they upgraded our room. The meals were not at the highest level. Most guests seemed to enjoy the property without leaving their rooms. It seems that many people come here with the purpose of enjoying this property rather than Lake Shikotsu. The quality of the hot spring was also good. I would like to visit again.
