    Service that meets even parents’ expectations

    I requested the Shuttle Service when I arrived at Tsuyama Station, and I really appreciated how quickly you came to pick me up. The Hotel staff were also excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay. The food was well-seasoned and the portions were modest, but everything tasted great and paired well with drinks. Thank you as well for accommodating my wife’s request to change her meal. My parents liked it very much too, and we would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

    Completely satisfied.

    Unexpectedly, we managed to find time as a couple and made a last-minute reservation for our stay. This was our first time choosing a dinner-included plan. It had been about three years since our last stay, but this was the most relaxing experience we've ever had. The service, cleanliness, room, and bath were all exceptional. Staying on the Sankyu Floor allowed us to enjoy the lounge after bathing and spend some relaxing moments in the massage chair. Above all, the quality of the meals stood out. We chose the Tsuyama specialty "Sozuri Nabe" course this time. Every dish from appetizers to dessert was delicious, and the main Sozuri Nabe showcased the sweetness and umami of sozuri meat that seeped into vegetables beautifully—it was truly delightful. The meticulous preparation left us deeply impressed. The next morning's breakfast maintained its high standard with local vegetables and ingredients—homemade rice balls prepared by staff members and tamago kake gohan (rice with local eggs) were incredibly satisfying. To top it off, we were able to enjoy a snow-covered view unexpectedly during our stay—a perfect ending to an already wonderful experience. We would love to return again with another dinner-included plan in the future. Thank you so much!

    The Excellence of Our Cuisine

    I stayed at the accommodation at the beginning of the year. Although there were few train services to Tsuyama, making me a bit nervous before arrival, the hotel was so comfortable that I was glad I came to Tsuyama. The room and bath were excellent, but the food was surprisingly delicious with just the right portions, making my stay even more wonderful. The view from the special floor on the top level was also great. I hope to visit again during cherry blossom season someday.

    The facility is very clean, and the staff provided excellent service. The open-air bath in the room was particularly enjoyable. However, while breakfast was good, dinner felt lacking in both content and portion size. This was not only for adults but also for my daughters in 4th and 6th grade; their kids' menu portions were insufficient. After dinner, our family had to visit a nearby convenience store to buy additional food like ramen and udon. It would be great if there were options to adjust portion sizes, such as offering refillable mixed rice or small side dishes like some other facilities do.

    You can stay comfortably with your dog.

    I didn't specifically plan to visit Tsuyama, but I chose this accommodation because it allowed pets, had an onsen, and seemed to offer good service, meals, and facilities. Although located in the city center, it was quiet and the hotel provided a relaxing stay. The onsen (bath), facilities, and service were excellent. For dinner, I had the "Special Kaiseki," but nothing particularly stood out. Breakfast included a selection of two dishes; however, I felt it would be better to focus on one exceptional dish instead. That aspect was a bit disappointing.

    Castle tours with friends

    The Hotel was beautiful, and both the Room and the bath were clean and wonderful. From both the Room and the bath, we could enjoy a view of the illuminated Tsuyama Castle, which was amazing. (It seems like our Room might have been upgraded.) The staff were kind and attentive, making it a very pleasant trip. The breakfast was also delicious, leaving us completely satisfied.

    Stay with Your Dog at the Hotel

    It was a wonderful Hotel. Relaxing in the open-air bath in the Room, enjoying a delicious meal while admiring the illuminated castle from the window, and strolling through the beautiful garden were all delightful. Next time, I would love to visit during cherry blossom season.

    Choose Your Room Carefully

    We recently stayed with four people, including my elderly father. The room was a Japanese-style Room with a low table and floor chairs, as expected. However, my father, who has weak legs, found it difficult to stand up from a seated position and struggled with changing clothes. I deeply regretted not choosing a room with regular chairs. Additionally, when four futons were laid out in the room, it became so cramped that there was no space to walk except on top of the futons. Another issue was the extremely narrow entrance of the Room; having slippers for four people made opening and closing the door quite challenging. I regret not being more thoughtful when selecting our guestroom. On the other hand, we chose a meat course for dinner to accommodate my father's preferences, which turned out to be an excellent decision. He finished everything except for the appetizers. We also enjoyed using the bath facilities comfortably. Thank you very much!

    Almost perfect!

    The coffee machine in the breakfast area did not dispense milk even when selecting cappuccino. A staff member mentioned that the machine has been acting up recently and sometimes fails to dispense milk. The staff seemed to be a young new employee, and perhaps they didn’t realize that such an explanation might give the impression of neglecting to fix a known issue. Simply saying, "I apologize, I’ll bring hot milk to your table," would have left me thinking it was just an occasional malfunction. The Room and food were so refined that this kind of service felt slightly out of place. That said, the food was truly exceptional. I was particularly impressed by the fresh fruit used in the breakfast fruit cocktail and how much effort went into preparing each petit four. I don’t usually write Reviews, but I really wanted to share how outstanding the food was!

    Perfect for a girls' night out

    I stayed in a room with an open-air bath with my elderly mother. First, the disappointing points: The staff lacked smiles and had a very businesslike attitude, which made us feel unwelcome. There was no send-off at checkout, and we didn’t feel any sense of gratitude towards guests. At the breakfast venue, when I mentioned that my mother, who has difficulty walking and uses a cane, would like to use a wagon for her tray, we were told to "help ourselves over there," making her go get it herself. At other hotels, staff have proactively offered assistance in such situations, so this felt quite cold. Additionally, while there is a separate building for guests staying with dogs and even separate elevators—which I initially appreciated—there were dogs barking in the lobby. As someone who is not comfortable around dogs, I found this frightening. Guests who are not fond of dogs should be aware of this before booking. For these reasons, I do not feel inclined to stay here again. On the positive side: As suggested by the name of the accommodation facility itself*, you can enjoy views of Tsuyama Castle beautifully lit up from the terrace after soaking in hot water (though unfortunately not from our room). When making your reservation**, it might be good to check on room views if that’s important to you! The amenities and drinks provided in our room were excellent; everything felt very comfortable during our stay overall! Dinner was reasonably tasty & portion sizes just right too! But what stands out most about THIS place? Breakfast!! Especially if sweets/jams excite anyone reading along now-then definitely don’t miss trying theirs out here because variety-wise alone? It’s impressive!! Lastly but certainly worth mentioning still—the souvenir corner features carefully curated items including cakes available-for-purchase onsite too-so shopping around became another fun highlight altogether! In conclusion: While perfect perhaps hosting lively girls’ gatherings etc., ultimately though given how much potential exists already within such otherwise lovely surroundings themselves...it’d only further elevate things positively IF Staff could revisit/relearn key aspects surrounding hospitality practices better aligned w/what one expects ideally matching said ambiance overall moving forward hopefully soon enough someday ahead alike likewise eventually instead finally altogether anyhow regardless either way ultimately speaking generally summarizing succinctly briefly concisely     I was very satisfied.

    Our group of five, who travel together every year, visited Shiroyama Terrace this time, following our trip to Biwa Front two years ago, both part of the New Awaji Group. The concept seems similar to Biwa Front, with new and clean facilities. Unlike the traditional service style of the main New Awaji property with attendants constantly assisting guests, we appreciated the less intrusive yet highly satisfying facilities here. Although we arrived too early by bullet train and local train, we were kindly picked up and allowed to leave our luggage at the facility. This gave us time to explore the castle area and enjoy the Tsuyama Festival that happened to be taking place. We stayed in a special room on the 6th floor. While it felt slightly cramped for five people, we enjoyed relaxing in areas like the observation bath and lounge. In the morning, we took turns using our private open-air bath in our room before unwinding on the terrace. The 11:00 AM checkout was also very convenient. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious; not only was Nagi beef exceptional but even seafood was surprisingly fresh despite being in a mountainous area! As a group of five middle-aged women who may have been quite noisy at times, we truly appreciated how all staff members treated us warmly without showing any displeasure. The only disappointment was when one staff member kindly explained directions and estimated times for exploring Joto District after showing them a map of castle town attractions—only for us to find out that all facilities were closed on Mondays! We ended up unable to see anything or make good use of our time there. Perhaps they weren’t aware? It might be helpful if future guests are informed about Monday closures when asking similar questions. That said, overall there’s nothing I can complain about! I found this place through IKYU.com and made reservations myself; my friends were thrilled with my choice which made me very happy as well. Thank you so much!

    Unlike other Hotels ...

    Unlike other Hotels or Ryokans where pet-friendly Rooms are often in separate buildings, here it was convenient to stay within the same building, even though the elevators were separated. I only had breakfast, but it was very satisfying and fulfilling. The open-air bath in the Room was comfortable, and I was very pleased with the pet-friendly Facilities provided.

    The bath was excellent!

    We were very satisfied with the experience of enjoying the Onsen while admiring the beautifully lit Tsuyama Castle! It was not crowded, and we could use it comfortably. We also had a kaiseki course on the 7th floor, which was visually stunning, delicious, and served in just the right portions—my elderly mother finished everything! The only concern was that the entrance area of our Room felt narrow. Since we stayed in a Japanese-style Room for four people, arranging slippers and shoes made it difficult to open or close the door. Next time, we would like to stay in an upgraded Room!

    Towels are provided in the large public bath, which is convenient as many facilities nowadays require guests to bring towels from their Room and take them back to dry. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and was excellent. The shop also had a great selection, and the specialty confectionery "Jumangoku" purchased there was delicious.

    Hidden Gem

    I happened to visit as a stopover, but the view from the Hotel room was amazing. Since it is a Hotel located in the city's downtown area, I didn't expect much of a view, but the scenery incorporating Tsuyama Castle Ruins exceeded my expectations. The large balcony with soundproof glass windows ensured no noise from outside, making for a calm and relaxing stay. I chose the meat course for my meal, and I was satisfied with its volume and taste. I would love to stay here again when visiting Tsuyama.

    It was comfortable.

    The meals in the morning and evening were excellent. Both the large public bath and the Room's private bath were great. The Room was moderately spacious and sufficient for two people. If I had to mention something, the comforter was a bit thick and slightly warm. Looking forward to staying again!

    A Long-Awaited Trip with Your Dog

    I have stayed at various ryokans and hotels with my previous dog, but this accommodation was absolutely wonderful. Both the dog and I had a great time. It was clean, the meals were excellent, and the staff's service was outstanding. I plan to visit again soon, so I look forward to staying here once more.

    I chose The Shiroyama Terrace based on its excellent reviews. As the reviews mentioned, it was very accommodating for guests with dogs. The lounge on the top floor offered a stunning view of Tsuyama Castle Ruins right in front of us, which was amazing. The highly-rated breakfast buffet was also excellent, especially the delicious rice balls. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance.

    Travel with Your Dog

    Stopped by during a trip to Hiroshima. It was a very nice accommodation with delicious meals, and they even put our dog's name on the cart, which was lovely. However, the room cleaning was disappointing. It felt like the cleaning was done superficially in a square room. It's such a beautiful accommodation that it feels like a waste not to maintain it better. Since it's a dog-friendly room, I thought it might be unavoidable, but the smell upon entering bothered me quite a bit. After opening all the windows fully, it became much better. The public bath was very clean and well-maintained.

    I had a relaxing time.

    The location is excellent, and while the room is small, it is functional, and the pillows and bedding were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was compact considering the number of rooms but never crowded, and the flow to facilities like the sauna was outstanding. Despite having many guests, the accommodation was quiet and pleasant. There seemed to be very few inbound travelers; most guests appeared to be small groups of Japanese visitors. The clientele was refined, making shared spaces such as baths, lounges, dining areas, and other facilities stress-free to use. It felt like a comfortable accommodation experience reminiscent of travel from years past. Dinner did not leave a strong impression—perhaps due to high expectations—but breakfast was delicious despite its limited variety. Both morning and evening rice were particularly enjoyable. This is an accommodation I would love to stay at again if given the opportunity.

    This was our first time staying here. We chose this place on our way back from a trip to Shimane, as we had previously stayed with New Awaji as a family. The Tsuyama Castle was right in front of us, beautifully lit up at night. The open-air bath in the Room overlooking the castle provided a truly blissful experience. However, upon arrival, there was only one staff member who seemed flustered and no one else around. We had to carry our own luggage to the front desk. Even during checkout, there were only two staff members at the counter. I felt that the service did not match the price point. Despite choosing a Plan limited to two groups per day, by the time we arrived, dinner options were already limited to either an early or late slot. It left me wondering whether they prioritize business travelers or guests like us who wish for a leisurely stay—it felt somewhat inconsistent. Apologies for being critical! That said, we thoroughly enjoyed the Tsuyama beef dinner and were satisfied with both our Room and lounge experience. Thank you very much!

    I had a very relaxin...

    I had a very relaxing stay. The outdoor bath was especially beautiful, and I highly recommend it for families with small children. It would be nice to have a larger souvenir shop or more options available. I would love to visit again during the cherry blossom season.

    A highly satisfying Resort Hotel!

    I visit every year. Great value for money, and it's a top-class Resort Hotel nestled in the mountains of Okayama Prefecture. As expected from a hotel in the "Hotel New Awaji" group, the staff's hospitality is exceptional. It's definitely a Hotel I want to stay at again next year.

    Stunning Views and Delicious Breakfast

    The made-to-order rice balls for breakfast were exceptional. The glossy rice was simply irresistible. The view from the balcony on the 8th-floor bath area was breathtaking. I had high expectations for the lounge on the 9th floor, but the drink selection was underwhelming... It would have been better to have alcohol or a regular water dispenser instead of sports drinks.

    The summer dishes were delicious.

    This was my second visit, but during a different season, and the menu had changed, offering delicious dishes once again. I especially loved the steamed eel in a bamboo steamer. This time, I visited with children, and I truly appreciated the attentive service provided. With great value for money, I will definitely return again.

    A wonderful accommodation you'll want to stay at again.

    The Hotel had great reviews, so I was eager to stay here during my trip to Tsuyama, and it exceeded all expectations! The atmosphere and cleanliness were excellent, and the service from the Hotel staff was impeccable from start to finish. They kindly provided detailed information about nearby sightseeing spots, which was very helpful. Above all, the food was absolutely delicious! The rice served at breakfast was so good that I ended up eating too much. Even after returning to Tokyo, I still think about that amazing breakfast rice! This is exactly what a wonderful Hotel that makes you not want to leave feels like! I will definitely stay here again! Thank you for everything!
