    The quality and hospitality are truly exceptional!

    Congratulations on receiving 2 Michelin Keys again this year! This is my second visit this year and fourth overall. I stayed in the luxurious suite I had always wanted to experience, featuring a spacious room, a large stone sauna room, and an in-room Sisley spa. Although the weather was unfortunately rainy, I was able to enjoy the beginning of the autumn foliage. As with other facilities, the service and hospitality remain exceptional. However, perhaps due to over 80% of guests being international visitors, the flavors of the dishes were generally too strong for my taste. I regret leaving some of the meat as it was too rich in oil. For dinner and breakfast rice cooked in an earthen pot, it felt overly soft. It seemed like such high-quality ingredients were not fully utilized—perhaps due to extended steaming time or reliance on butler service? Overall, it is undoubtedly a comfortable accommodation. While weather greatly influences the views here, it is still highly recommended!

    Lovely.

    Stayed at Fufu Kawaguchiko. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Stunning view of Mt. Fuji. The hospitality was kind and very satisfying. Staying at the Fufu series always feels reassuring. A minor issue was the smell of cigarettes as soon as I stepped out of the room for breakfast, seemingly coming from an open door near the outdoor smoking area. However, I will use this accommodation again as I aim to visit all locations in the Fufu series!

    The hospitality and ...

    The hospitality and attention to detail were exceptional, and the cuisine was outstanding. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, making it hard to believe we were in the mountains. During dinner, the sight of staff tending to the fire pit in front of us by adding logs multiple times created a warm and cozy atmosphere. One concern was that disposing of bottles seemed inconvenient for the staff; they had to throw them over a high wall from above their height, which caused loud noises and was fully visible from guest rooms. Upon departure, staff kindly helped carry our heavy luggage and even guided us to scenic spots at other nearby hotels with jeans-friendly views. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Thank you for your hospitality!

    It was wonderful.

    I stayed at the accommodation to relax in the onsen during the Kawaguchiko Piano Festival. - The lobby lounge, room, and restaurant were all incredibly clean and beautifully designed. - Although it’s not far from the center of Kawaguchiko, the surroundings are full of nature, creating a wonderful atmosphere. - The staff were all very pleasant, and the person who handled my check-in and check-out was especially excellent. - The meals were absolutely delicious. The variety was sufficient, yet the dishes were not heavy, leaving me with a happy sense of fullness without any discomfort. Everything was tasty, but I particularly loved the grilled mushrooms (the sauce was amazing) and the pork cooked on lava stone. - The large public bath offered complimentary mini beers, coffee milk, and ice pops, which was a nice touch. - From the room, I could see a stunning view of Mt. Fuji on clear days, which was very soothing. Since I arrived after the concert, it was already dark, and the lights at the entrance only turned on when I got very close. This caused me to drive around the entrance area once, as I was slightly confused. If possible, improving this would be appreciated. I would love to visit again!

The proposal was a great success. The Hotel staff provided exceptional hospitality. The Hotel, surrounded by greenery, offered a relaxing space, and the Onsen was wonderful.     Previously, my wife ...

    Previously, my wife and I stayed at this wonderful Ryokan, so this time, we decided to gift a stay here to my parents as a celebration for Mother's Day and Father's Day. My mother called to thank me, crying tears of joy. She rarely gives compliments but said the meals were delicious no matter what she ate, the staff were all very courteous, and the Onsen was amazing. She even mentioned that she wished she could have brought my recently passed grandfather here. Her words moved me to tears as well. I thought I was doing something for my parents, but instead, I ended up being deeply touched myself. Thank you for such a wonderful experience at Kawaguchiko. We will definitely visit again!

    Filled with a sense of security and satisfaction.

    This was my first stay at Fufu Kawaguchiko, but having stayed at other Fufu accommodations before, it was exactly the experience I had envisioned. The staff provided exceptionally attentive and courteous service, making my stay very satisfying. The scenery, views, and cuisine were just as advertised in the accommodation's promotions. Maintaining such a high level of service across all aspects must be challenging, but I hope they continue to do so in the future. I also decided to try canoeing on Lake Kawaguchi and found the staff there to be equally wonderful. It seems rare to see Mount Fuji beautifully reflected upside down on the lake surface during summer, so it was a truly special experience. Thank you very much!

    Luxurious hotel

    Is the target audience people in their 20s to 40s?

    The hotel features an abundance of indoor plants, giving the impression that it targets a relatively younger demographic, particularly those in their 20s to 40s. The bed was significantly larger than those in other hotels and was very comfortable. However, the private open-air bath had large wooden panels used as privacy screens, which unfortunately blocked the view of Mount Fuji while bathing. The biggest issue I encountered was with the meals. Upon arrival, I was informed that a gratin using natto would be served for breakfast and asked if I wanted it replaced with something else. Despite this conversation, natto was still used on the day without any changes. While I personally dislike natto and chose not to raise an issue at the time, I later read a review about a child with a nut allergy being served dessert containing nuts without modification. This raised serious concerns for me. While it's unreasonable to expect hotels to accommodate all severe allergies perfectly, once they commit to making adjustments, they should take full responsibility until completion. The meals themselves were average overall; however, rice dishes served during both breakfast and dinner were exceptionally delicious. Overall, considering its price point and quality level of service provided by the hotel, it offered good value for money.

    Wonderful Accommodation

    I went on a solo trip to relax and unwind. Although I arrived early, I was kindly allowed to wait in the lobby while enjoying a welcome drink. The accommodation was surrounded by lush greenery, blending beautifully with the nature of Lake Kawaguchi. It was truly relaxing for both my mind and body. The staff provided attentive service, which was very soothing, and their smiles were wonderful. There were some issues with Wi-Fi connectivity, but it turned out to be a great opportunity for a digital detox. The meals were delightful in terms of presentation, aroma, and taste. Thank you for accommodating my dietary preferences. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again!

    The meals were disappointing...

    The initial dishes for both dinner and breakfast were overly seasoned, which unfortunately spoiled the rest of the meal. Additionally, during dinner, a child was crying loudly and walking around the floor. While it is understandable that children may cry, it was disappointing that staff did not address the situation or take measures such as relocating guests to another table.

    For my wife's birthday celebration

    The hotel is a bit hard to find, and the signboard is slightly difficult to see. There were plenty of firewood at the entrance, giving a sense of nature! We requested a birthday cake during the reservation and managed to surprise our guest during dinner! It was well-received and became a wonderful memory. We also received photos, which was great! Although there were activities available, we couldn't see Mt. Fuji due to cloudy weather this time, so we hope to try them on our next visit. The staff's attention towards children was excellent, and we had an enjoyable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and satisfying!

    This was my first stay at Fufu. Upon arrival, I had to wait for a while at the entrance where I parked my car, as it coincided with the arrival of other guests. Although I had specified the dinner time when making the Reservation, I was asked to Change the Reservation due to that time being busy. I agreed to change it since it would be less crowded, but I felt disappointed as I had taken the effort to specify a time. Overall, this left me feeling slightly dissatisfied on the first day. Additionally, although this is not an issue with the Hotel itself, while using the public bath, a foreign guest in regular clothes entered unexpectedly (it seemed they were trying to take photos of the bath with their smartphone). Please ensure that photography prohibition is strictly enforced. The staff member who served breakfast was very pleasant and had a lovely smile. Overall satisfaction was somewhat mixed for me.

    The best accommodation.

    I stayed with my daughter to celebrate a milestone birthday. The natural design of the lobby was so inviting that we chose this accommodation. Both the daytime and nighttime ambiance of the lobby were truly stunning. And the room was exceptional. We especially loved the inner terrace with a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji. Waking up to a full window view of Mt. Fuji was breathtaking. Despite having many allergies to alcohol and certain ingredients, everything from welcome sweets to drinks in the refrigerator, as well as meals and drink options, were thoughtfully adjusted to be non-alcoholic. The attention to detail was remarkable. For both dinner and breakfast, dedicated staff provided thorough explanations and served dishes at perfect timing. We enjoyed beautifully presented and delicious meals, including natto gratin that exceeded our expectations. The comfortable bed, relaxing bath, utility box—everything made our stay at this accommodation unforgettable for our first visit here! It truly is an outstanding place to stay.

    My Favorite Accommodation

    This was my second stay. I visited last autumn as well, but the food here is so delicious that I couldn’t resist coming back within a year. There are many accommodations where you can "enjoy with your eyes and taste buds," but the food here stands out for its "unique textures." Every time, I’m amazed by unexpected combinations, and as I savor each bite, the various textures blend perfectly, creating a playful sensation in my mouth. It’s incredibly fun!!! Since these combinations are unlike anything I've seen before, the flavors are also one-of-a-kind. The cuisine here is absolutely my favorite. Although this area is landlocked, they seem to source excellent fish. Personally, I can’t eat inexpensive tuna due to its strong smell; however, the tuna served here is always delicious. Is it because they even calculate the temperature? When you take a bite of that perfectly chilled yet not too cold piece of tuna, happiness fills your mouth instantly. Actually, this applies to all their dishes—you must savor every single bite of happiness. I also love Mount Fuji and the Fuji Five Lakes area; thus, the view from the room is simply breathtaking. Enjoying an open-air bath while taking in beautiful scenery and fresh air... Feeling warmth from natural elements inside... The staff's warm greetings and attentive check-in process... Double-checking dietary preferences... Serving exquisite meals… Everything about this place is exceptional. Honestly speaking, I wish I could visit every month. I'm already looking forward to experiencing different seasonal landscapes and dishes on my next visit!

    The private bath and the charming Room were excellent!

    The day of our stay was unfortunately cloudy, so we could only see a little of Mt. Fuji, but relaxing on the sofa while gazing outside was wonderful. The room had a charming plant-themed interior that felt very calming. The private open-air bath in the room was spacious and satisfying enough that we didn’t feel the need to visit the public bath. As for meals, while the overall taste was good, both breakfast and dinner portions were quite large, and the combination of Japanese cuisine with lava stone-grilled dishes felt slightly mismatched in terms of menu concept. The pairing options—sake, wine, and beer—also seemed somewhat inconsistent. Considering the atmosphere of both the hotel and dining area, an Italian menu using plenty of local ingredients might have been a better fit; however, I understand that Japanese cuisine may cater to international guests. While there’s nothing wrong with the flavors themselves, I felt there was some room for improvement in terms of menu planning. Overall though, it was an excellent experience!

    We stayed here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.

    This accommodation provided the highest level of satisfaction among all the hotels I have stayed at! While the price is certainly not cheap, the service exceeded its value. The hospitality was not overly excessive but thoughtfully tailored to our needs, which was greatly appreciated. Additionally, being able to see Mount Fuji right in front of us from the restaurant, room, and everywhere else is a unique feature of this location near Lake Kawaguchi. During our 1-night stay, we were fortunate to enjoy clear views of Mount Fuji on both days—it was truly breathtaking. This is a facility I would definitely want to visit again.

    Simply the best.

    Planning a birthday trip, I decided to visit Fufu Kawaguchiko. This is my 6th visit. I usually stay during the cherry blossom or autumn foliage seasons, but this time in June. I was moved by the deep green of the trees, and everything from the room to the meals was absolutely perfect. Every visit offers exceptional hospitality. The view from the room is also stunning, making it my favorite accommodation among all I've stayed at before. I will definitely return again!

    Recommended Accommodations in Kawaguchiko

    This was the 13th Onsen Ryokan I visited this year, and it was undoubtedly the best. The scent of the forest, chirping birds, singing insects, and stunning scenery. Being surrounded by nature felt incredibly soothing, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing time. Electric-assist bicycles were available for free rental, making morning cycling an absolute delight. As always, Fufu's cuisine is truly exceptional. The presentation, aroma, taste, and creativity were perfectly balanced—each dish left me in awe. The pairing with sake was spot-on as well; both dinner and breakfast were thoroughly satisfying. I enjoyed every bite to my heart's content. The fragrance upon entering the room was memorable too—Fufu facilities always have a “pleasant scent” that is so comforting. The private open-air bath in the room had a wonderful atmosphere; it felt like bathing in the middle of a forest—a truly luxurious experience. In the public bath area for men, there was also a sauna and cold bath which helped me feel completely refreshed. The post-bath lounge was well-equipped with coffee milk, beer, barley tea, Pocari Sweat sports drink, mineral water—even ice cream! I especially loved the coffee milk—I ended up drinking four bottles (laughs). If I had to point out one minor drawback: the Onsen water being diluted slightly took away from its charm just a bit. However, even considering that small detail—it was an absolutely amazing stay overall. All staff members were very courteous; particularly memorable were those who served during dinner and assisted at reception in the morning. This is definitely a Ryokan I would love to visit again—a place I wholeheartedly recommend!

    Be soothed by the beauty of Mount Fuji.

    Moved from Fufu Hakone the day before. Despite the unfortunate rain, I was delighted to see a clear view of Mt. Fuji upon arrival. The young staff at Fufu always impress me with their efficiency and professionalism. However, there were some disappointments this time. Dinner started early but took 3 hours, which left me feeling tired. Additionally, a request made in the Room afterward was not handled smoothly, making me feel like time was wasted. Having stayed at Fufu Hakone the previous day, I felt that their staff service was superior in comparison here. The food itself was delicious though!

    Everything was perfect. The service from each staff member was excellent! We were very satisfied even with a one-year-old child! The in-house clothing for one-year-olds was absolutely adorable! Next time, we want to stay for two nights.

    Excellent staff

    Despite the unfortunate weather, our stay at Fufu Kawaguchiko was truly satisfying thanks to the wonderful atmosphere and exceptional hospitality of the staff. Every staff member showed genuine enthusiasm to make our stay enjoyable, which made us feel very welcomed and appreciated. The thoughtfully prepared meals were delicious, and we were able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace even with a baby. My wife also experienced the Sisley Spa and was extremely pleased with the high-quality techniques and how relaxing it was. If I may suggest one improvement, it would be great if the private open-air baths in guest rooms could feature natural hot spring water directly sourced from its origin.

    Fully satisfied this year as well!

    This is my third stay. I made the reservation this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and to see cherry blossoms and Mt. Fuji. Last year, I reserved at the end of March, but the cherry blossoms hadn't bloomed yet, so this time I reserved for the second week of April. Unfortunately, only a few were in bloom. The next day it rained, but there were more blossoms; choosing the right timing for reservations is really difficult... As with previous visits, I was impressed by everyone’s excellent hospitality—from those who greeted us upon arrival to those who served meals and saw us off—making our stay very pleasant. The meals are always delicious, and both the open-air bath in the room and the view of Mt. Fuji from our room are exceptional. We also received a photo commemorating our wedding anniversary, which will be a cherished memory every year. This accommodation truly makes me feel glad that we came here. Next time, I plan to reserve with hopes of enjoying autumn leaves from our room's view!

    Mount Fuji!

    It was unfortunately rainy on the day of arrival, but the next morning was clear and sunny, offering a perfect view of Mount Fuji without a single cloud from the Room. We enjoyed renting bicycles for free and cycled halfway around Lake Kawaguchi, taking in both Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms. The Hotel staff provided excellent service, making our stay very comfortable. The large public bath with a sauna and cold bath was very refreshing; however, the outdoor space felt underutilized. Creating an outdoor relaxation area would likely please sauna enthusiasts. The provided towels as well as beer and coffee milk were great touches. At the restaurant, partitions on the windows limited views of Mount Fuji to just its peak, which felt like a missed opportunity to enjoy such stunning scenery. Additionally, tables were too close to neighboring guests; spacing them out more would improve comfort. Dinner overall was delicious; however, I didn’t enjoy the sweet-and-sour pork-style dish with pineapple and strawberries—it might be better to offer just one type of meat dish instead.

    Fulfillment at Fufu + Mount Fuji = The Best

    After staying at Fufu Kawaguchiko, following Suishoen and Fufu Nikko, I have become a complete fan of the Fufu brand. While I am curious about other Fufu properties I haven't stayed at yet and those set to open in the future, I feel that Fufu Kawaguchiko, with its unbeatable combination of "Fufu + Mt. Fuji," is truly one of a kind. Thank you very much!

    Overall, it was good.

    This was our second stay at Fufu Kawaguchiko. The atmosphere and view of the Room, as well as the meals, are our favorite among all Fufu properties. However, there was a small issue during dinner. We were accompanied by our 3-year-old son who has a dairy allergy, which we had informed in advance. Despite this, we were asked, "There is ice cream for dessert; shall we serve it?" We declined but were then offered an alternative dessert option. Due to his preferences and dislikes, we also declined that and explained the situation again. The staff then asked, "Is avoiding dessert due to allergies? Or is there another reason?" We clarified that it was both due to his allergy and potential dislike of certain foods leading to leftovers. While the staff may have had good intentions behind their questions or suggestions, it came across as overly persistent since their intent wasn’t clear on our end. That part was slightly disappointing; however overall, we were satisfied with our stay!

    It was excellent.

    I chose this accommodation based on information from YouTube and social media, but the actual experience far exceeded my expectations. While the facility and cuisine were excellent as expected, what impressed me the most was the thorough employee training. The attentive service and enjoyable conversations made for an incredibly comfortable stay, for which I am truly grateful. For the first time in my life, I tried sake pairing during dinner, and the selection was outstanding—highly recommended for sake enthusiasts! Also, I suggest trying the natto gratin served at breakfast; even those who dislike natto might find it delicious. I’ll work hard to save up so I can stay here again! (laughs)

    This is a property you will want to visit repeatedly.

    Last summer, I couldn't see Mt. Fuji well due to the clouds, so I wanted to try again and stayed for the second time, and once again everything was wonderful. The revenge was a great success, and I was overwhelmed by the beauty of Mt. Fuji. Above all, the food is always too wonderful. The taste, cooking method, and dishes are all ingeniously crafted; it's the best cuisine I've ever had anywhere. The room is beautiful as well; the open-air bath in the room is always at just the right temperature whenever you enter it, and I love that even the amenities in the room have a pleasant fragrance. All of your staff members are amazing too. This is a property I'd like to visit regularly as a reward for myself.
